Question Upgrade to ColorOs12 or 13 - OPPO A74 5G

Hello.
I've repeatedly asked Oppo to provide a link to the ColorOs12 or 13 package, but they keep telling me to go to a service centre, because for some reason the A74 5g models are unable to update to colouros 12 or 13 over the air like they should (at least here in australia)
I'm disabled and this isn't a possibility for me.
Manual updates using a package are a straightforward process, if they would just give me the stupid package.
I've downloaded what few stable versions of coloros12 are out there, but none so far have come up compatible with A74 5g.
I'm sick of being stuck on software over 3 years old.

Hi Napster9
same problem in same country.
going to their service centre today in desperation..
if service centre manages to update the phone at least it can be confirmed that the software actually exists.
UPDATE...
I went to the service centre. They upgraded the phone with a complete wipe. It now reports that it is running Coloros 12.1 ... so at least the software exists. Strangely it says there is an update pending to 12.1 even though 12.1 is what it says is installed. The upgrade took about 20 minutes.
The service people say they do not have a package that can be downloaded. The best they can do is provide prepaid mail package to send the phone to them and they then return. They did say that after 12 is installed that the OTA will then work .. which seems to be reinforced by the 'new version available' with a 'download' prompt.
Good luck solving your problem.
UPDATE 2
I was told last week by Oppo support that they did not know when coloros 13 would be available for A74 5G.
It was installed this morning via OTA.
Good luck again with solving your problem.

Hello! Oppo support recently took my phone for service and they said they are installing the update too. They will send you a free packing slip if you live far away in Australia.

Finally the ColorOS 12 is available for the on air upgrade and the file will be automatically deleted once the upgrade is finalized.
Tough I also feel frustrated because OPPO doesn't provide the stand alone firmware.
ColorOS12.0 is around 1.5GB, installed.
The phone alerted me that there is another 1.8GB update for the ColorOS 12.1.
Installed it but the system keeps telling me that there is another update that is still the same one I just installed!
In the past I complained that on the original ColorOS 11 the camera didn't have the photo size or resolution settings like ANY camera has and all they could do for me was asking me to bring the phone to one of their repair center where they would reset my phone and I would lose all my stuff!
Updated to ColorOS 12 and now no camera NOR video resolution settings at all!!!
Morons!!!!

The price we pay for using chinese software......

Manually update baseband to come current?

Ok so I just acquired an S6 (AT&T, OEM/not rooted) and I know that 7.0 is rolling out for it and after some investigating it seems that the only way I'll be able to update it to 7.0 from 6.0.1 is if my baseband is at a certain version, which it is not. There are 3 listed updates for this phone on the At&T site that I don't seem to have (SPL Nov 1, SPL Dec 1 & SPL Jan 1) and I'm wondering how I can apply these updates and at least have my phone up to date. I've tried checking OTA updates and also installing SmartSwitch and it says that my phone is currently updated and doesn't offer any patches. Any help is appreciated!
Here's a screenshot of where I'm at now-

No OTA updates if it's not on the AT&T network, sadly. I have an AT&T S6 on Cricket and I get my updates by going to a Best Buy with a Samsung Experience Center inside. They can update it for you. If that's an option based on where you live you can wait a couple weeks, they didn't have the Nougat update yet when I checked yesterday. Otherwise, since it's a new phone and presumably you don't have any data on it to lose, you can update manually. See this thread to start:

Thanks for the tips. I'm on cricket actually so going into a Best buy might be the best option when they get it. Do you have to pay them to do it? Will i get my phone back right away or do I need to leave it with them for a while ? Side question for you - do you use the hotspot on the s6? That's something else I'm trying to get working/enabled.
It's free. I've done it three times and it's been a breeze. You don't leave your phone, you just wait around for the updates to install. Depending on how many updates you are behind it can take a while, but there are plenty of ways to kill time at Best Buy. You can check online which ones have the Samsung Experience Center inside.
As for hotspot, I never use it.

Device Uncertified in Play Store

I have bought a Nokia 7+ (TA-1062) china varient with global rom installed. My problem is that in the play store my device shows as uncertified. I already contacted the Nokia support and also the play store support and unfortunately they don't seem to have any proper answer to my problem. The Nokia support suggested me that as I am using the china varient with global rom, it is showing as uncertified.
But the interesting fact is that few days ago I installed android P beta in my phone and because of some bugs I rolled back to the oreo rom and at that time my device showed as certified in the play store and then June update came..Installed it and again the same issue.
For the uncertified issue I am not facing any problem downloading apps from playstore. But in the nokia forum in the Nokia 6 section I found a post indicating that if a device is uncertifed it won't recieve any future updates. So, if that is the case then the whole point of buying a Nokia becomes redundant.
So, please guys help me. What should I do?
P.S: I have already registered my phone in the google.com/register using the GSF ID.
same situation here... cant use google pay because of this uncertified issue. I'm hoping next OTA update can fix this problem. So annoying
It's because your phone's SKUID is 600CN, not 600WW.
You can change it by this-----> https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-7-plus/how-to/guide-how-to-change-skuid-to-worldwide-t3808520
After changing it, you need relock your phone (critical and oem), Now google play should be certified.
BTW: unlock bootloader is required. You can ask hikari_calyx for help.

CLT-L09 (C782) EMUI finally arrived.

I was wondering, last month, how\when\if I'd get EMUI 9, since I bought my phone from eBay, from the UK, and it was locked to EE. I got it unlocked. (I live in Ireland).
I have been checking Hi Care, and the System Update, every so often, wondering where it would appear.
I checked Hi Care today and there was nothing, then I checked System Update in settings and there it was. Currently downloading.
I was kind of under the impression that Hi Care would have the update first, that it'd come straight from Huawei; And that System Update would give me the update from my current mobile provider. Can anyone confirm is this is supposed to be the case?
I'm still not clear on who exactly the update came from, but at least it's finally here..

Update Notifications Won't Go Away

I'm getting nagged to update my software even though I've disabled updates for the Motorola updates service, and disabled automatic updates in developer options. I'm currently running stock Oreo, and have been getting these every 24 hours or so, sometimes more.
I'm fine with taking the security updates, but I really don't want to upgrade to Pie. So much so that I exchanged the first X4 I had just so I could stay on the older update with a locked bootloader. My main concern is that I accidentally updated already, because they eventually take away the option to be reminded later instead. At this point I think I know how to avoid consenting to the update, but it would be nice if this annoyance was gone for good.

I had the exact same problem with the three moto x4 Amazon Prime versions. I contacted Amazon and Motorola - both told me there was no way to stop the update notices. I even explored app lockers hoping to find one that would let me lock the update notice app - no luck.
I finally gave up, purchased three moto x4 Android one versions (they are rootable) on sale at Best Buy, rooted them, then disabled the Motorola update service. No more update notices.

I see, I was afraid of that. I should have mentioned that I have the Android one version, but I was hoping not to have to root it. I play Pokemon GO sometimes, and it doesn't like it when your device is rooted, even using the method that's supposed to hide it.
Has anyone had any luck breaking OTA updates, possibly by flashing a slightly modified version of stock software? I was hoping to stay stock because that's usually best for the camera, but Gcam should get around that, right?
nguinn, just use magisk. i play PoGo also. use the X4 to GPS spoof for regional exclusives. works great. reddit.com/r/pokemongospoofing has a great tutorial on how to root your phone to make pokemon go not be able to see it.

p30 pro phone not updating - possibly a demo phone?

Hi - please go gently with me, first time posting and not very techy at all!
My husband was given a P30 Pro due to doing some work with Huawei, which he passed onto me. I've been using it for 2 years, and noticed the updates weren't happening, and google pay stopped working. Google pay said my phone was rooted or similar, which it isn't (that I know of). It had worked for 6 mths or so.
Called Huawei a few times and got vague answers.
Finally this week someone on Huawei support checked out my serial number and said that as my phone was listed as promotional or demo, it wasn't under warrranty and software updates wouldn;t be pushed to it.
So what do I do now?? I have a phone that is missing important security checks etc but if I root it as the support guy hinted, I guess I would still ahve the issues with google pay and other banking apps?
As I say, do explain this to me as if you're dealing with your nan!
Thanks
