Question AOD (strange?) behavior (solved) - Motorola Edge 30 Ultra / Motorola Moto X30 Pro

I'm noticing that when I activate the AOD (tapping or picking up the phone) the time and fingerprint graphics sometimes scale down, does anyone know why? It's a little annoying
Edit: i answer myself, a few days ago in developer options I brought all three types of animation from 1x to 0.5x, so the AOD animation was jerky instead of smooth. Now I put the only item "Animator duration scale" back to 1x and everything is OK

Thanks for this discovery, I had same problem before and I have to stay 0.5x, so I removed AOD

Any way to change display timeout for lock screen specifically?

So i just noticed this for some reason but I have my display timeout set for 2 minutes which is fine
but when i get a text message or a missed call and it leaves the screen on for 2 minutes as well. i figure this could be a battery drainer over time especially if im not at my phone to lock the screen back
is there a way to set the lockscreen display time independent from the system display timeout? has this always been the case? For some reason i always remembered the lockscreen turning off relatively shortly after a notification. maybe im just going crazy:silly:
bump...is this kinda common sense that the lockscreen display stays on for however long the system default for display timeout says to?
i could have sworn the lockscreen didnt stay on for a minute before it turned off even though my display was set to "sleep" after a minute

Screen dimming - requires single tap to "wake" - looking for a way to disable

Screen dimming - requires single tap to "wake" - looking for a way to disable
So I am running a stock Sprint HTC One (Android 4.4.2, software version 5.03.651.3) and for months now (for some reason, I thought I first noticed this behavior right after 4.3 got pushed out), there is a single behavior that has perplexed me, and despite trying various configuration changes, I cannot seem to get it to resolve.
I currently have all power-saving features disabled, screen timeout set to 1 minute, automatic brightness enabled (slider, which shouldn't make any difference, is set to the middle), daydream is disabled, and developer options are on with no screen timeout while charging enabled.
What seems to happen is that after about 1 minute (also the duration set for screen timeout, which initially made me wonder), the screen (while plugged in and charging) will dim slightly, maybe about 50% of the standard brightness when the phone is actively being used, and I have to tap the screen (not the double-tap I have been reading about, which supposedly isn't even implemented yet) just once to dismiss the dimming in order to register touch input.
At first, I checked Daydream a bunch of times, enabled it, disabled it, changed settings, and it seemed to have nothing to do with it, because when I did enable Daydream, I got the real screensaver or colored screensaver that I had chosen in the options.
I then disabled auto-brightness, set the manual brightness level to minimum, maximum, and a dozen levels in between, and I still got the dimming that required a single tap to restore use of the screen and brought the brightness back up to its normal level.
I made a bunch of power saving changes, enabled, disabled, to no avail.
Three factory resets later, (tested with no installed apps) I still have the same behavior. It seems like there is a setting that is enabling some sort of screen saver (that only dims the screen to about 50% of the set brightness level, but disables interaction from the user until the screen is tapped a single time) that is dismissed with that single tap.
I've gotten used to it, but it's really infuriating, especially in the car when I have it mounted on the dash for things like GPS, streaming audio (I just want to be able to see what song is playing if it's a new album), and other things that require a glance over to the phone. Sadly, in the car is probably the worst time for the dimming, since the ambient light outside makes the screen appear off when this "feature" kicks in.
I've spent a great deal of time searching/reading threads not only here, but on other mobile forums as well, and I cannot even find a reference to this issue that behaves the same way mine does.
This is my Hail Mary in the hopes that I really have missed something simple.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!

[Q] Auto not needed for max brightness

Just got my Vzw S6 a couple of days ago. Everything I had read about it had me dreading the "you can't have max brightness without setting it on auto" nastiness.
I haven't found this to be the case. If I stand outside under a bright sky, and go into display settings --> Brightness, toggling between auto and not auto has no effect at all, as long as the slider is all the way to the right.
Testing this from the drop-down on any screen doesn't show much, as it dims most of the screen, you have to observe while you're in the settings menu.
Is there some difference in the units you all have?

Always on Display Toggle (Ambient Display like) for Samsung S7

Hello everyone,
I made a profile which enables AOD for about 10 seconds by waving/hovering over the display. AOD mode gets enabled and automatically disabled but the actual AOD doesn't show on the display.
I attached the profile in my post. Can anybody help?
That's because for the change to take effect the screen must be turned on and then off again. I'm facing the same issue and am honestly sad that nothing i do works... will let you know if i somehow fix it.

Lockscreen brightness overrides manual brightness

We've used EasyProfiles Pro (profile manager) to activate various settings since HTC Desire days. One thing that the P20 Pro does when unlocking the phone is to reset the brightness to mid-way, over-riding the profile setting. Autobrightness is off.
During daylight hours this is not so noticeable but at night when the phone is unlocked it switches to mid-brightness despite the profile settings for minimum brightness. A tap of the profile widget restores it to dim, but each time we grab the phone it's very bright for night use.
I've looked through all the phone display settings and can't see any reason why the phone should revert to mid-brightness after unlocking when Autobrightness and Eye Comfort are off.
Developer of EasyProfiles has abandoned the app years ago so no actions possible on that front.
Can anyone confirm this behaviour ... turn off Autobrightness, set brightness to low, lock the screen, unlock, check brightness level?

Update ... been liaising with Huawei support, they suggested B150 would fix this. Update B152 was installed but did not help.
Further testing suggests the problem is the lockscreen always uses Automatic Brightness irrespective of the user settings. To test this I set the phone to a daytime profile, locked the phone, then went into a dark room. When I woke the phone the screen began to dim and when I unlocked the phone the brightness was very low.
Similarly, I chose the night profile and went into a lit room, the lockscreen brightened and unlocking forced the brightness higher.
Sounds like they're going to escalate this, assuming they can replicate the issue.
