Huawei Mate 40 Pro updates - Huawei Mate 40 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Greetings,
My Mate 40 Pro received the January 2023 security patch update today morning. Interestingly, the update was available only via the My Huawei app, the Settings > System and updates > Software update did not show anything.

I'm still on the December 2017 security patch unfortunately. Crossing my fingers for Oreo soon or custom rom support at the very least.

Unable to install Android Security Update

Current Phone: Motorola Moto X4 [XT1900-1] [Unlocked]
ROM: Stock - Android 8.1.0
Latest Security Update: June 2018
After I unlocked the bootloader and rooted my phone following the instructions on this thread by @munchy_cool (thanks for that). The July security update arrived and I haven't been able to install it because it always gives me an error (see attachment).

I don't know if I did something wrong when I rooted my phone but I followed all the steps one by one. Is there a way to keep the root but be able to update my phone?
cant apply OTA updates on rooted phones.

Both of my Note 9 N960F (Singapore) still stuck on 1st January 2019 update?!

Hey guys, I have two Note 9 N960F (Exynos). And I realized after doing some research, both of my Note 9 are still running the old update. While other countries (Thailand, Malaysia, India and etc...) are also using the same variant, has received more than 3-5 updates.
But my Note 9 only received 1 update (screenshots below) which is the Oreo to Pie (One UI) update. :crying:
Isn't this abnormal? How am I able to receive the latest update?
Android Security Patch Level: 1 January 2019.
Baseband version: N960FXU2CRLT
Build Number: PPR1.180610.011.N960FXXU2CSA7

This is normal for Singapore. Likely due to carrier/telco here even though you brought it via retail. I have Sony & Samsung Phone, both lag / skip update compare to Malaysia ROM
just manually update it with Odin.

Huawei lying about security patches?

Just came across something weird.
AIDA64 (or any other app that checks for Android security patch level) reports a different security patch than what is shown in the prefs System./about phone page.

So here Huawei claim 01/21 patch level (which already isn't that good for a phone on a promised monthly update scheme)
AIDA64 shows this:
So that is 08/20! Which suspiciously coincides date-wise with the loss of the TGL.
As the system info is extremely easy to fake: is the Huawei info correct or are they lying about Security patches?
Noone has a clue?

That is cool, yet I might wait a month. Every update withing MIUI that has some version upgrade (Android or MIUI itself) gave me some issue in the past, resolved in the update after that.
