Usb device not recognized - Redmi 9 / Poco M2 Questions & Answers

Please help solve the problem with connecting the phone to the PC. After flashing the phone, I got a brick, I wanted to fix it, but after a while, when I connected USB to the PC, it says that the device is not recognized, I installed different drivers, deleted them, nothing helps. (Not only my phone is not connecting, I tried another one there too this error) Please help me solve this problem, I have been unable to fix my phone for several days

I presume that you're on Windows?
When you go to DeviceManager (devmgmt.msc) look for something with exclamation!
Properties > Details > Device instance path
What does it say?

Problem with Tilt, thanks for viewing

I fixed the previous issue now I'm stuck on connecting to my PC via USB with activesync.. I had it working fine, now all of the sudden after a hard reset it won't connect, I searched for other similar issues but didn't get anything on here. It just will not connect, I've tried the uncheck advanced thing in settings on my phone, another hard reset, deleting/reinstalling activesync, I can't get it to sync, it will only charge when connected. Thanks for looking
I better start reading entire posts
You need to provide better info. What operating system is on your computer?
Does your computer/OS give a sound to aknowledge the new hardware/device connected? Like when you plug in a USB key?
Check windows device manager and remove any USB devices that may be your Kaiser and restart the system (without the Kaiser connected).
Have you tried deleting devices from activesync? If it is stuck on a different device, it won't sync another and a hard reset probably makes it look like a new/different device.
Fast replies, thanks! No sound when connecting, no green icon, it stays grey of course, I'm on XP 32bit, using activesync 4.5 and using WMWiFirouter to connect at the moment to surf. Usually I tether using it as a usb modem which won't work of course right now. I just deleted the device, still no go... Oh and i deleted everything under my USB submenu in hardware manager/device manager, and I just get the same popup still, "USB device not Recognized, One of the usb devices attached to this computer as malfnctioned, and windows... etc etc"
"USB device not recognised" comes from the PC? Does that mean the PC sees the USB device but doesn't know what to do with it?
Disable WMWiFiRouter on the phone and see if that affects anything. If it has anything installed on the PC try uninstalling that.
On Activesync, did you go to File, Delete Mobile Device? Try that, make a new connection.
Nope, nothing is installed on my pc from WMwifirouter, and I tried the phone without the router app also, no go.. My last resort is a format on my pc. I think I need to find and delete the registry or some driver files or point that one Unknown USB device in device manager to the correct driver for my phone.. But I don't know how. Or if that's what will fix it.

If you want to do that, you could try to uninstall the previously installed device driver by going to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager -> Universal Serial Bus Controller...go from there
Oh yes, I did, tried that, and there was my previous one there and I deleted it. Now there are no devices in the list.
Check AS connection settings if USB is enabled. If it is, disable it, put the phone in bootloader and see what happens.
You don't have anything like WM5storage installed on the device, do you?
Better to reflash the phone (by storage card) before format your PC.
It's bedtime for me, good luck. Try the G.W.E.N.I. thread and wiki and see if anyone has your problem before. I think there has been.

USB Device not recognized

I've searched and tried everything I found but my phone just can't be read as a Mass Storage Device....which means I can't transfer any files.
When I plug the phone in the USB debugging icon shows up on the phone but the option to transfer files isn't there. And on the computer it says USB Device not recognized and it's listed as an Unknown Device.
What I've tried so far is uninstalling the driver completely and plugging the phone back in....some sort of software automatically installs itself whenever I do this. However it still doesn't fix the problem. Also, I've downloaded some drivers from the internet but when I try to "Install driver from specific location" and direct it to the folder, it says there was no updated drivers found.

diamond & windows 7

hi guys!
when i connect the diamond at my pc, windows 7 tell me: unknown device
i have installed the wmdc and yesterday my pc recognize my diamond!!!
what i can do?
pls help me!!!
P.S. i've tried to reinstall the wmdc but don't work
try changing the usb port
i've tried but didn't work
try reboot sometimes computers start on the whole unknown usb device
and the only cure is reboot
is the only solution?
it's possible is an hardware issue?
Re-install WIN 7
If rebooting too doesn't work then i recommend re-installing Win 7, it hardly takes half an hr..
i tried to change the cable, to change the port usb, reinstall wmdc, format computer, hard reset, another computer...but nothing...
what i can do?
i'd uninstall wmdc even search and remove any traces of it in regedit
of cause if you reinstalled win7 from scratch that should happen automaticly
or I would try connecting it to another computer to verify that the device connector was not damaged
it's possible is an hardware issue?
because the pc recognise my diamond with bluetooth
news
my pc recognize my diamond with bluetooth but for the usb port nothing...
i've tried to install a new rom version but nothing...
how i can install an original bootloader from internal storage?
as I said try connecting it to another computer xp with activesync or later with wmdc
anything
you don't need to sync or anything just detect it if works you could even use a public library computer if they are not too locked down
thats how you detect if the connector in the phone have been damaged
about doing it from Internal storage I'd suggest you check the wiki
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Diamond
maybe around the "Upgrading / cooking / flashing:" section
i think the usb connector on the phone is broken
the only solution is the assistance...but i have the hardSPL inside my phone!!!
Try it on another PC .
i've tried...but nothing
windows fault
This is actually a problem with windows.
I had the same issues but solved it by fiddling with the device manager. This is slightly more advanced than just plugging the phone in but it's not that hard.
Also you can check to see if this is really a problem with the phone. Try to connect the phone in disk mode (so it registers as a memory stick). If it shows up it means it really is windows having some issues detecting the device.
I have the same problem, but when the TD is in disk mode no problem at all

STEPS (on HTC TOUCH DIAMONF):
1. START
2. SETTINGS
3. CONNECTIONS (tab)
4. USB TO PC
5. UNCHECK "Enable advanced network functionality"
6. OK
Try now to connect your HTC with your PC (Win 7)

[Q] USB Debugging/Mass Storage Mode connection to computer issue

Hello folks,
I'm facing this "please insert a disk" issue when connecting my Note to computer via USB Debugging mode / Mass Storage Mode.
I'll let screenshots in the attachment explain itself. #1 shows the screenshot of devices menu when the phone is plugged into the computer in DEBUG mode; #2 shows the screen after I've clicked "connect USB storage" from the drop-down list of the phone; #3 shows what happens when I try to open one of the two "removable disks".
MTP mode works fine, as well as Kies connection. As I finally started exploring the potential of Android platform, I realized that MTP and Kies connection are the most useless connection options for me, and I'd rather leave it in debug mode all day. So has anybody experienced this issue, or had any suggestion on the solution?
As always, many thanks in advance, and many thanks button clicks afterward!
p.s.,
Desktop OS: Win7 Pro X64 SP1
Note: 2.3.6 Stock LB1 Open Germany Firmware, CF rooted LB1 kernel.
Also, I should have all the latest official device driver from Samsung, as I have the latest version of Kies installed (and I discovered a driver folder under Kies' installed location). I'm not so sure about adb driver, but I was able to find the Note to be listed under devices by typing "adb devices". So.. I don't know where could've gone wrong.
Help anyone?
This really sounds weird... I was facing problems of the Galaxy Note not being detected on several Windows7 32/64-Bit SP1 computers as well but this was gone after I installed SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.
You are right - from all that i know all required drivers should be available when KIES is installed on your system. Whatis even more strange is that your device seems to be detected as two partitions are available and are displayed in Explorer...
So I would test the following:
- check if your device manager lists any unknown devices
- Uninstall KIES and try to find the SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones and install those
- check all available USB ports and see if this solves the problem
- try another USB cable
- make sure your (external) SD card is formatted with a Windows compatible file-system e.g. FAT32
Hope this is helpful and helps solving your problem.
Thanks for your reply!
My device manager basically listed all the drivers/devices associated with the phone:
My Device manager shows devices:
Samsung Android Composite ADB interface
Android UMS Composite USB device (x2)
SAMSUNG Android USB Modem
USB Mass Storage Device
USB Mass Storage Device (Android)
I've attached the screenshot when all the drivers being installed when the phone is firstly connected to the computer. Also in the device manager, everything shows "this device is working properly"
I then decided to test with another Note of my friend's (On the same computer). Her Note has no SD card in it, and is completely stock ROM non-rooted LA4 Open Germany firmware. The same thing happened.
One thing worth mentioning: Yesterday, this worked only for once. When I initially encountered this issue, I restarted my computer, and boom, my phone was connected in Debugging mode! However, once disconnected, and I tried to connect it to the computer again, this issue came back. And afterward, no matter how I restart my computer, the phone won't get connected.
I also tried all USB port (USB 2.0 and 3.0), three different cables (2 of them are Samsung OEMs) and failed to address the issue.
I'm nearly exhausted but I will never give up, as this is my only computer and my only phone (haha), and without solving this issue, I'm never gonna be able to view the phone as a USB storage and easily transfer the file from my computer to the phone.
I'm going to try the last thing that I haven't done from the list you posted:
- Uninstall KIES and try to find the SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones and install those
I believe that I can keep the driver folder in the Kies' folder, as I believe those are the newest Samsung driver, given that the Kies was the latest release version.
So far, I can only conclude that this issue is not related to specific phone but the Windows 7.
And thank you for your help btotaku!
If anyone has any insight into this issue, please help me. Thumbs up for you!
BTW, I was able to extract both SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe from under Kies' installation path under Program Files x86 folder, and an uncompressed folder of all kinds of drivers for Samsung device, called "USB Drivers".
And looks like I was wrong. The newest version of SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones I had was 1.4.8. While the driver that came with the newest Kies was 1.4.103
I'll post back soon
Reinstal Windows on your PC bro.
Problem fixed.
is that your internal memory or the sd card?
Same thing happens either with SD card in the phone or not

Device Won't Connect to PC

For the past week I've been trying solution after solution found from the net to try and get my HTC One to connect to my computer and show up as a portable device. I'm running Windows 7 x64 SP1 with all updates possible, latest drivers and chipset drivers and even installed optional drivers to try and fix the problem. I've tried USB Debugging and nothing happens, tried uninstalling all drivers from USB device manager and reinstalling which also didn't work, tried installing MTP drivers seperatly, nothing happens, tried windows update's htc drivers, they fail to install every time.
My problem in short is, I cannot get my device to connect to the computer so I can use the storage space to add/remove/edit files on my phone.
I've recently tried a program called "DoubleTwist" which actually got the HTC Sync Manager to recognise my phone, but even that shows no storage available.
My details:
Windows 7 SP1 x64 PC,
HTC One in metallic blue 32GB,
HTC MTP Device Drivers Failed
MTP USB Device Drivers Failed x3
Developer unlocked,
USB Debugging On/Off
I can edit in any additional details required.
TrundleButt
Umh, connect the phone at the pc, go to Device Manager (windows logo + x -> device manager), and unistall all the voice about the one.
After go to the control panel, and unistall the htc driver from here.
Now, install HTC sync.
For me and other friend worked.
I've tried uninstalling the failed drivers but they still fail every time i plug the device in, It's not really a problem with htc sync manager as I've pretty much given up on that already. My problem is that I can't get my computer to recognize my device, only as a cd drive which is for the installation of htc sync manager and and relevant drivers.
I've tried your solution 5 times before and it doesn't fix the issue as it's the drivers failing to install and the fact it won't accept drivers for my usb device for MTP or pretty much anything related to my device.
Anyone know of away to remove the bad drivers and install fresh working ones without crippling the use of my mouse and keyboard? because windows suggests I remove the usb host controller drivers which kills the use of all usb ports on my computer, meaning i have to replug them in turn re-installing the usb host controller drivers at the same time.
still got the problem of not being able to connect my device and have it recognized, by the computer as mass storage, removable storage, or MTP. that is the real problem I'm trying to fix, after that I may consider trying to get htc sync manager to work.
Any help at all would be nice... Anyone?
I guess my problem is unfix-able then, just to make it clear, i don't give a stuff about the sync manager, i just want to be able to have my computer recognize my phone so i can access it through my computer...

Got the exact same problem, work PC won't recognise the device. Haven't tried home just yet as this is the first it has occurred. Software update a couple days ago.
Called HTC - no dice, they keep saying install HTC Sync and the drivers.
Anyone else come across this issue/have a solution?
I posted in a different thread, but let me sum up again.
I had a couple of people reporting this issue on Win7 - phone connected to USB, came up as android device with exclamation mark in Device Manager. It really made me think what could have happened, because it was working a week before. I tried different cable, different drivers and realized it was something wrong, when even my phone was not recognized on my friend's PC, yet both of the phones (mine & his) were recognized on my notebook with all the cables and config.
It turned out, that he installed malware stuff and the culprit was iLivid and his friends. It blocked the usb connection somehow. After running Malwarebytes in safe mode, which removed a tons of sh*t, everything worked again.
