Takes Time To Boot btw did you even wiped data from pixel experience recovery ?

Have tried to test with Redmi 10 5g, sucessfully passed 1-3 steps (flash recovery, reboot into recover, reset), however with the sideload attempt i get error in the phone screen:
ERROR: recovery : Error in /sideload/package.zip (status 1)
Install completed with status 1.
Installation aborted.
Attached screenshot from recovery log.

i'm also getting boot loop after recovery flash, but pressing "Volume up" i enter recovery

If you're using miui 14 it'll get bootloop obviously because this recovery is based on 13.0.11 version I'll soon update vendor along prebuilt

Tried to do same steps with Miui 13 on Redmi 10 5G (restored from miui_LIGHTEEAGlobal_V13.0.11.0.SLSEUXM_b75e66791d_12.0.zip)
Still same issues:
1. After PE recovery install there is boot loop, but it is possible to enter fastboot/ pe recovery with volume up/down
2. Trying to install PE rom (PixelExperience_light-13.0-20230313-1046-UNOFFICIAL.zip) with adb sideload or from update.zip in sdcard results in the same error, as previously stated (Error in /sideload/package.zip (status 1))

Instructions:
Always have a backup of the EFS partition made with TWRP stored somewhere, as you may lose IMEI. Restore it if you get 0 as IMEI when booted into the ROM.
Before installing, make sure oreo was the last stock ROM you installed. See notes below if you come from Stock Pie
Download Official TWRP from twrp.me
Flash the TWRP via fastboot
Enter TWRP, go to wipe menu and Wipe Dalvik, Cache, Data, System and Internal Storage.
In TWRP Wipe Menu, do Format Data, then reboot into recovery
Flash the latest build
Reboot
Notes
TWRP
If the touchscreen doesn't work when rebooting into recovery, press the power button twice to turn off and on the screen. The touchscreen will now work just fine.
GSIs
This LineageOS build ships with Project Treble compatibility (lite VNDK), meaning you can flash a GSI as System Image from TWRP. Please don't report GSI bugs here, report them instead to the GSI's maker. A Format Data from TWRP is required after flashing a GSI in order to avoid problems.
Technical details on our Treble implementation:
This device is a community-treble device, meaning other devs before us made it compatible with Project Treble (lite VNDK), using the oem partion as a vendor. GSIs still have some problems regarding cpu frequency scaling and camera. You have been warned.
Coming from stock pie?
For the sake of simplicity, I said that coming from stock oreo was needed. In reality you just need to flash the oreo modem files. There's a script that does exactly that, made by @juniorpassos: https://mega.nz/file/IRxjGDjL#vkdvh4JcMy-LuWgQz4rHhgpWV80029X4ql0_zcMpVug. The script will erase your userdata and cache.
Before starting this script, make sure you have a backup of your EFS partition stored somewhere safe, outside phone's internal storage. After the backup is done, you can reboot your phone into fastboot mode and start the script. Now reboot into TWRP, go into "Wipe" menu and Format Data. Now you can reboot into the ROM. If you get 0 as IMEI, or any other problem related to RIL, go into TWRP and restore the EFS backup made previously.
Wanna help?
If you find a problem or a bug, please share a logcat with us, alongside an explanation of the problem and steps to reproduce. We won't accept bug reporting without a logcat. Collect logcat with:
Code:
adb logcat -b all > logcat.txt
Thanks
Many thanks to @marcost22 for the pair-working we are doing in this adventure, to @davidsonsjesus for his work on KVT, to @jeferson1979 for his help and teaching. Thanks to all the testers that have helped us testing this ROM.

Enter TWRP and Format Data, then reboot to TWRP again. You may need to repeat this a couple of times

Normal version is plain PixelExperience. Plus version includes some tweaks we all like: a bit of customization for status bar and themes (dark theme included for system and notifications!), some gestures like the three-finger-screenshot, advanced restart and others. I think you can find more info on the PE website
when i flash and then boot to system, it prompts me to enter a password, but...i don't have one.
edit: i have not gotten it to work. i just reflashed it.
when i did that, i wiped the cache and dalvik and all that, but rebooted back to bootloader, then ran the script (i came from 9.0 stock), and it flashed, everything rebooted, i got into the phone, and it doesn't think there's a cellular signal. the IMEI seems fine, it's the right string of numbers, but nothing i do will get it to actually register the sim is in.. or rather, it does read the sim. it knows what phone number is on it, but absolutely nothing else.
is this a case where i have to restore me EFI? when i try to do that, it tells me i failed to select a partition, but there's no partition to actually select...
Tried re installing the script? Or flash the oreo modem file via fastboot

yeah. i tried that, and then i even went back to stock 9.0 (no idea how to go back to 8, i've tried just flashing normally through fastboot like you do for 9, but it just doesn't work), flashed the 8.0 modem, nada. even on stock 9 i my cellular radio just doesn't seem to work.
in twrp, when i go to restore my EFS backup, it complains that there was no partition selected, but i don't actually get a partition to select. i honestly have no idea what the hell i did to achieve this, but i did.
edit: i was able to get the radio working in stock pie, by fastboot loading erase modemst1/st2 but that doesn't appear to work on this rom
edit 2: let me describe the steps i'm taking here. i boot into twrp, i wipe dalvik/cache, cache, system, data, storage, reboot back into twrp, format data and reboot back into twrp. flash the rom, reboot to bootloader, run the script, boot back into twrp and flash data.
i don't see anything i'm doing wrong, but maybe i am?

Why would you go back to stock pie, when the instructions clearly say stock Oreo. There's a tutorial on the forums and everything, flashing any version of stock is the same procedure, you just need the specified Oreo version listed in the firmware section of the OP. Not that hard

LineageOS is a free, community-built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restores the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

I've tried to flash it on my Mi Note 10, but I ended up stuck on bootloop.
Here's what I've exactly done:
- Since I was on MIUI 12.0.2, I've downloaded and flashed MIUI 12.0.3 (the one linked before, recovery version). Although I did flash it, I didn't boot up the phone, nor did go through setup wizard. I just rebooted back to TWR
- Performed Data format (advanced wipe - selected only "Data")
- flashed LOS
- format Dalvik/Cache
- Reboot
Could the issue be not going through first-boot setup after flashing to MIUI 12.0.3? Also, I'm trying to boot my phone on this MIUI right now, but it is definitely stuck on MIUI logo. I guess I screwed up big time.

The thing is, you went to advanced wipe and only picked "Data" only... If you do advanced wipe... You have to also choose "Internal," both "Cache's"and "System". It's easier to just go to "Wipe" press the "Format data" option and type in "yes".
Plus.... when coming from another Miui Rom, you have to wipe everything from the wipe options written above.
So do that.. and then follow the steps below.
-Reboot to TWRP (in case your PC does not see your phone connected to load 12.0.3.0).
-Then load the 12.0.3.0 full rom, flash... "format data option", type in "yes"...
-Reboot to TWRP again.....
-And then flash Lineage, GAPPS and the latest Magisk 21.1.. and reboot "System".
Now if it doesn't come through.. flash 20.4 Magisk first, reboot to TWRP.. flash 21.1 Magisk and reboot "System".

Since the latest release is Android 12 beta 2, there can be bugs. Once flashed, the device may or may not be useful as daily driver.
I guess android 12 beta 2 can be booted on the latest MIUI stock vendor and/or the OSS vendor(from arrowos) , but I am not sure.
After unzippng the GSI ROM, yuu can flash system.img using fastboot mode from a PC.
Cheers!

Did you've installed 12?
How is it, buggy or nearly stable?
Beta 4 Pixel 5 File which was tested on redmi Note 7 was flawless after Volte and Fingerprint fix. I only did not find out how to pass safetynet, that's why I got back to lineageos

Boot it with: fastboot boot OrangeFox-R12.1-OPKONA-V19.img
or flash it with: fastboot flash recovery OrangeFox-R12.1-OPKONA-V19.img
Orangefox R12.1 can only be flashed to the recovery partition if you have OOS12 Firmware, but you can still boot it with fastboot boot if you are on OOS11 Firmware and need to decrypt data on Android 12 or Android 13 ROMs.
Some things like USB OTG etc are not working when using fox_12.1 on OOS11 Firmware!
If the touchscreen is not working for you after booting/flashing Orangefox please Update your OOS/Firmware to a newer Version!
Take a look at this Post from TWRP in regards of Backup and Restore or
here from the Orangefox wiki.
Spoiler: Flashing Instructions and switching OOS Firmware Base
Keep in mind! Never flash a recovery file if you are not on the same OOS Firmware as the recovery is for, otherwise you will end up in Qualcomm Crashdump mode or just a black screen.
Always just do a fastboot boot recovery.img until you are on the same OOS Firmware on your phone as the recovery is for, only then you can flash it with fastboot flash recovery as well!
From OOS11 Firmware to OOS12 Firmware ROM
------------------------------------------------------
Check DDR RAM type (from Windows cmd)
adb shell getprop ro.boot.ddr_type
0 - represents your device is LPDDR4X (use DDR0 Firmware file)
1 - represents your device is LPDDR5 (use DDR1 Firmware file)
or from Terminal on your phone
getprop ro.boot.ddr_type
0 - represents your device is LPDDR4X (use DDR0 Firmware file)

When you are on OOS12 use this from the Orangefox Terminal:
cat /proc/devinfo/ddr_type
Download latest Orangefox 12.1 img file from here
Download OOS12 flashable Firmware for your phone from here or, Oneplus 8t, Oneplus 9r

fastboot boot OrangeFox_R12.1-xx.img
adb sideload fw_Oneplus8T_EU_c21_DDR0.zip
adb rebooot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery OrangeFox_R12.1-xx.img
fastboot reboot recovery
Apply Update - apply via ADB
adb sideload ROM.zip

Reboot System
From OOS12 Firmware to OOS11 Firmware ROM

The Messages failed to mount system, vendor after flashing a ROM can be ignored.
That is due to mounting those for both ext4 and EROFS and of course you can have only one of them.

thanks so much for hookin up the op8 users with a recovery that has some substance
Am I correct in assuming that I'm not seeing anything in my data partition (for backup purposes) because of this?
Data decryption on OP8 and OP8 Pro is only working when using a OP8 series unified ROM which uses FBEv2 encryption.
FBEv1 encryption which the OP8 and OP8 Pro normally uses is not added to Orangefox (yet).

On which OOS12 Version are you? And do you have that on both slots?
Have you flashed Orangefox or just booted it?
Make sure you have OOS12 c35 or what you are on on both slots before trying to flash anything.
Then just try to fastboot boot Orangefox first and not flash it directly and see if you can install a ROM and boot to it.
I've tried C.36 with crDroidAndroid-12.1-20220721-instantnoodlep-v8.7, lineage-19.1-20221106-nightly-instantnoodlep-signed, it crash dump
and swithed to 11.0.11.11-20220218 crDroidAndroid-12.1-20220721-instantnoodlep-v8.7, lineage-19.1-20221106-nightly-instantnoodlep-signed, it also crash dump
You mean must c.35

No c36 should work as well. And have you flashed Orangefox or just booted it? So the crashdump comes after flashing a ROM and trying to boot to system?
just booted, I want to check OrangeFox-R12.1-Unofficial-OPKONA-V13 work first, but crash dump, not flash the zip now. But for the 11.0.11.11, OrangeFox-R12.1 should work

Hmm strange as it works for someone else on Oneplus 8Pro. So I dont know why it does not work for you. Sounds strange that it just gives a crash dump when booting into it. Normallly that happens if you flash Orangefox to your phone and have not the same OOS Firmweare on both slots!
Every test I made OOS on both slots. No hurry, recovery for 12 need time. I can wait, thanks your hardworking.

Also I know that there is someone else who build Orangefox recovery a few days ago using FBEv1 for Oneplus 8 and 8 Pro.
As my unified Orangefox now is using FBEv2 since that is what is used on Oneplus 8t and 9r so te Unified Version is using that.
So you will only be able to decrypt data with my unified Orangefox Version when you use some unified ROM which is using FBEv2.
I will check with the one who build Orangefox with FBEv1 for Oneplus 8/8 Pro if he has published that already somewhere.
Maybe the FBEv1, thank you very much. I'll test asap when you share it.

OK that Version is not fully ready yet therfor it is not published anywhere yet.
EDIT:
Whoops... just saw the top post... "Orangefox R12.1 can only be flashed to the recovery partition"... Will this affect Stock OOS12 to update in the future? or can I easily restore stock recovery?
****************
Hi! Does this work with OP8 OOS12 unlocked + rooted? can I do "fastboot boot recovery.img"? Not really worry about decrypt data, just want to get in to flash Magisk. OP has been very bad at releasing full ROM, can't extract boot.img for that purpose.
Like many (I think), I try official TWRP to "fastboot boot recovery.img" and the device got stuck... Anyway... I left the phone for few days..., it booted back in fine.

I'm using EvolutionX 7.3 (Android13) on a Oneplus8Pro. Do you know which version of the recovery do I have to download?
And also, which encryption does the rom use?

No. I dont know. Check with your ROM Support group or just try to fastboot boot the orangefog.img file and see which Version works.
I can boot all three version of the recovery, but it seems none of them can decrypt data. The Data partition dimension is 0mb.
Anyway, is the first time I use orange fox, and i don't know it very well....

Thank you for the ROM.
I would like to ask if anybody knows - does dual SIM work on this ROM (specifically enabling and disabling certain SIMs on the fly)? I know Lineage has issues with that along with auto brightness (jumps from low brightness to too bright with no in between) on KB2005.

Decent but the sound externally is awful. Very low and static-like. I usually have to turn it down, but i had to turn this ll the way up and i barely heard the song. *sigh* any suggestions? It's the same with the ring tones, they're VERY low.. what is going on here?
