Question How do I extract ROM firmware from Samsung Galaxy watch5 LTE(SM-R9150) - Samsung Galaxy Watch 5

How do I extract ROM firmware from Samsung Galaxy watch5 LTE(SM-R9150)

You can backup few files in normal... with ADB...
With System Shell Exploit you can backup few more or else...
With Root you can dd partitions...
But for Root I know only the way with USB cable...
BUT this not really help to backup Firmware for use with Odin or netOdin...
These times are over... Samsung increased Security crap... so few partitions not 1:1 same like flashed with Odin...
For instance super.img...
Only as info...
Best Regards

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Pop

I have a Samsung Galaxy Pop with “com.android.phone” error each time the device restarts. The network goes down and comes back again. This happens twice.
I had upgraded my handset from 2.2.1 to 2.2.2 using Kies in Sept 2012. I somehow got a chance to copy the I559DDEH31_HOME.tar.md5 file which Kies creates for upgrade. The contents of the file are amss, boot.img, cache.rfs, recovery.img & system.rfs.
I have tried Odin to flash but have been unsuccessful.
I would like to know if I can use “dd if=/dev/block/stl12 of=/sdcard/system.rfs bs=4096” command using adb shell to restore the handset to its original state?
I am not that good at Android so would like to know if somebody can help me.

Why don't u flash a new gingerbread 2.3.6 stock rom? Froyo is kind of outdated. Make sure to backup your contacts and everything if u decide to do so.

Hi Kirakun,
I would love to do that but unfortunately I am not able to find dedicated Gingerbread 2.3.6 stock rom for Samsung Galaxy Pop CDMA (India) SCH-I559.
I have searched a lot but found only for Samsung Galaxy mini or S5570 which are the GSM versions of the same model.
I have also found that some have already bricked their phones using the other versions.
So I have decided to stick to froyo.
I just wanted to make sure that if I restore the /system partition using system.rfs command (dd if=/dev/block/stl12 of=/sdcard/system.rfs bs=4096) shouldn't create any new problems.

My bad i was not aware of this different version. Yes do try what dheeraj has said.
I think that entering recovery should be same for u, just switch off phone, press home button and power button simultaneously and hopefully you will enter recovery.
Navigate using volume button and do a wipe data and cache. Doing so you will lose any app and everything from your phone, so do a backup before.

I have done the wipe data and cache. Below is the response:
-- Wiping cache...

(Unknown error: 0) rc=0
Cache wipe complete.
-- Wiping data...
Formatting DATA:...

umount(/cache) attempt 1
(Unknown error: 0) rc=0

But unfortunately same error.
I cannot flash firmware as I do not have one supported for this model of samsung (CDMA version). KIES says that the firmware is up to date so cannot flash from there as well.

In case if you don't mind I would like to know how my phone will get ruined if I use the system.rfs from the original firmware file downloaded by Kies?
Secondly, is there a particular version of ODIN I need to use for this handset? I have tried 1.85, 3.07 and 4.38 versions.
Actually I do not have any other files than the I559DDEH31_HOME.tar.md5 required by ODIN.
I would prefer to go to Samsung service centre only when I am left with no option or if the handset fails to do its regular tasks.
Anyways, thanks for your suggestion.
you will do it while your phone is running and while doing it your mobile will reboot in the process due to change in some critical files
and we also don't know what is the structure of system.rfs

Alternatively I can also do when the phone is in download mode..
What do u think?
well you can't in download mode
but of you have cwm then it would be easy
open system.rfs with soft which can mount iso etc.
Copy the content of system to you sdcard
now flash aroma file manager and with the help of that copy all the files your your system.rfs to your system partition
and with dd it may copy files to /system/system or directly to /root

I used a linux machine to mount the system.rfs. Extracted phone.apk and installed the app using root explorer.
Finally the problem com.android.phone has been resolved..

Ok, no one is gonna give you a copy of their /EFS partition.

Now I don't have the phone, I sent my phone to a service company, they told me that there are 50% chances they can repair it and i takes 2-3 days. And in case they can repair it, it will cost me $40
I will save your files to try them in case they cannot repair it.

HOW to back up EFS here in S5830

hi guys i am looking here for thread that will give tutorial on how are we going to back up the said EFS which is the very important file of the phone where IMEI resides, suddenly after searching for so many days still haven't found an answer. I already tried using EFS Pro 1.9.2 and it prompts that the said directory isn't there.. i checked it out on the root of my phone and found that EFS folder isn't there.. now my question is there any apps or tool that will backup our efs so that if incase we accidentally mess with our phone, it will be easy for us to revert back to the time when the phone is functioning well..
The EFS Partition is "stl5" .
So , for mounting the partition at boot , You need to unpack your boot.img, Open init.rc and add the following lines:
mkdir /efs
mount /dev/block/stl5 /efs
Click to collapse
Then You have to repack the boot.img
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are done with the mounting part. |
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now , Flash the boot.img
Reboot Your phone
Connect it to your PC (Note : ADB must be enabled)
Run adb pull /efs command
................................
There might be a way using the "*#7284#" code . It creates a service com port on PC. (Stock Roms Only)

[Q] No network, no IMEI, unknown Baseband, SIM not recognized,

Hi,
After trying to install an home-made CyanogenMod ROM, I can't connect anymore to the network.
When I type *#06#, it says "null / null"
*#1234# says "AP : I8190XXALL2" (the original ROM I just flashed) "CP : Unknown" and "CSC : Unknown"
Baseband version says Unknown too.
When I try to go to mobile network configuration, it says I've to put a SIM card.
Unfortunately, I've no backup of EFS or ModemFS, if the issue comes from here.
Already tried to flash stock ROMs like the I8190XXALL2_I8190OXXALL1, I8190XXAMA1_I8190OXAAMA1, or I8190XXAMA2_I8190XEFAMA1_XEF, or restoring a few old backups of the whole system. Still nothing.
I've heard I could've corrupted the EFS and lost the .nv_data file, but AFAIK it's not on the EFS partition on the I8190.
I can successfully make a backup of the EFS with EFSPro and it contains several files :
Code:
11/04/2013 19:28 <REP> .files
11/04/2013 19:28 <REP> bluetooth
11/04/2013 19:28 <REP> FactoryApp
26/11/2012 15:43 0 GUARDFIL
01/01/2012 02:15 12 gyro_cal_data
11/04/2013 19:28 <REP> imei
01/01/2012 02:02 222 pre_recovery.log
11/04/2013 19:28 <REP> RFHAL
11/04/2013 19:28 <REP> RFHAL.DEF
11/04/2013 19:28 <REP> wifi
If someone has an idea it'd be great, thanks in advance.
did u flashed stock roms with custom recovery?
I'm flashing it using Odin3 v3.07 with the phone in download mode. But I've TWRP 2.5.0.0 on it. Should I flash stock recovery and re-flash a stock ROM ?
Take it to Samsung's service center, but first make sure you flash Samsung's stock ROM and a stock recovery. I had this problem too and they've fixed it.
Is it really the only solution ? Because it's not easy for me to contact Samsung and go to a repairer.
And since this type of problems should never happens and might happen only when you're tweaking your device, can't they refuse to repair it ?
Someone working on smartphones at Intel can't fix it ?
And if I got it fixed, how should I prevent from further problems ?
Many questions, sorry… Thanks anyway.

Well if you get a sloppy serviceman he won't see what you did with a device, so it all depends on him. And yes they can refuse a warranty repair, in which case you're screwed.
I recommend that you backup your partitions in the future. All of them to prevent it from happening again.
You can try repartitioning but I'm 80% sure it won't work.
Yes man, you've lost most of your efs datas.. if you don't have a backup of efs, take it to the service center
Hey, finally corrupted all my modem partition while trying a few things to get back my IMEI, none of them worked. After having it corrupted, it put me in Factory mode and I wasn't able to do anything (only system, cache and efs partitions were mounted AFAIK). Took me some time to find I had to format my modem partition (/dev/block/mmcblk0p12 if I remember correctly), but I still don't have an IMEI. Now I think all the "important" datas were stored in this partition, for exemple in the file named NV.dat (which I don't have any copy). So is a backup of this partition enough to prevent this type of problems ? And since this file might be similar with the EFS file called .nv_data.bin in other Samsung phones, interverting them might make it work ? Or am I totally wrong ? I didn't find any information related to what this file contains in reality, how it is encoded… no one tried to hack it already ?
PS: Now before sending my phone to the service center, I tried to run CM10.1 on it, but it's stuck on the boot animation and I can't connect with adb (that's not the whole story, but it's the last thing I get). Does anyone have an idea ? (I know it's a separate topic and it requires much more informations and we can't make a "working" ROM until we have source code for the NovaThor, but it may interest someone) (you can contact me by IM on the IRC Freenode network for exemple)
i dont know if this will help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264021
Will not work since we don't have a .nv_data file or something similar, I think…
do u have efs back up?
No, that's the main problem, but event with an EFS backup, if the efs datas aren't all stored in the EFS partition, I'd have lost them, no ? (but no one confirms that they are stored in the EFS partition or elsewhere)
Main mistake was to use EFSPro. This program doesn't work correctly with i8190.

I have modified the stock rom (build I9070XXLQE) android 4.1.2. and now i'm trying to make a flashable odin pakage. after exporting the data and system block to a .img file. and putting them in a md5sum file. Odin get stuck on initializing. does someone know how how to make a working odin pakage for the i9070?
And why would you like to do that?
Isn't it easier to rather make a nand backup?

Do this in windows:
tar -H ustar -c nameofthefile.img > nameofthefile.tar
md5sum -t nameofthefile.tar >> nameofthefile.tar
rename nameofthefile.tar nameofthefile.tar.md5
You need in the same folder md5sum.exe and tar.exe

Naidroid backup is nice and works great. the problem is I have to roll out the modified rom on 350 i9070 android devices. so a odin package would be nice. Do I have to flash the data package with the odin files to copy everything ?
still no luck, I'm able to make a odin package now. the only problem is the device that I flash. has no system applications, problems like no keyboard and a crashing google services..
plz help ?
