Mate 10 (not pro) Wifi calling UK on ID Mobile?

I'm using the Mate 10 C636 - ALP-L29 version with the very latest 8.0.0.131 firmware.
This was the firmware that allegedly added VoLTE and VoWiFi features.
I've never found these settings in the settings on the phone and my mobile provider, Plusnet (at MVNO), does not offer VoWifi.
So, I was particularly interested to see that MVNO "IDMobile", based on the 'Three' network was offering VoWifi and in particular, if you look at the devices they support:
https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/wifi-calling
Wi-Fi Calling currently works on iPhone 5s, iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone X and Huawei mate 10.

How random. All the iPhones and the Mate 10. Not the Mate 10 Pro.
Which is odd, given that the Mate 10 has never been released here, but the Pro has.
I decided to speak to ID Mobile, to see if this really was the case, here's the transcript......
Info: We've received your chat request. An agent will be with you shortly.
Info: You're chatting with Trevlynn.
Trevlynn: Welcome to our live chat service ****. My name is Lynn and I'm here to help you.
Me: Hi there. I'm interested in joining IDMobile, because I note you do Wifi Calling - and I have a Huawei Mate 10.
Me: This seems to be one of your supported devices, other than iPhones
Me: Is it specifically the Huawei Mate 10 or is it the Mate 10 Pro?
Trevlynn: Thanks for being so patient. I'll be with you shortly.
Trevlynn: Thank you for your patience with me ****. I can confirm that the device which is compatible with WiFi calling is Huawei Mate 10.
Me: Ok, and does the Hauwei Mate 10 need to be running any particular firmware? The Huawei Mate 10 was released in Europe, Asia and China. - not specifically in the UK - will it support the European and Asian firmwares?
Trevlynn: Yes, that is correct ****.
Me: So, just to confirm.... all regions and all firmwares are supported by IDMobile for Wifi calling on the Huawei Mate 10? There don't appear to be any settings to enable Wifi calling on the phone - so it should just work?
Trevlynn: You just switch on Wi-Fi and make a call.
Me: And that works on all models of the Huawei Mate 10? Wow.
Trevlynn: Sorry for the delay. I'll be right with you.
Trevlynn: I'll be right with you.
Trevlynn: Thanks for waiting. I'll be with you in just a moment.
Trevlynn: Thanks for being so patient. I'll be with you shortly.
Trevlynn: Thank you for your patience with me ****, I apologise for the long wait. My system froze and would not allow me to respond to your chat. the only devices that allow Wi-Fi calling is listed on the link below:
https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/wifi-calling
Me: yes and it lists the Huawei Mate 10 - what I'm asking is - can you confirm that all versions and firmwares work?? Does it work with pay as you go? I don't want to move over to ID Mobile, only to find it doesn't work on my phone for some reason.
Trevlynn: You will only be able to make use of the feature if you have a monthly plan with us.
Me: So, just to confirm, ID Mobile are saying that Wifi Calling works with a Huawei Mate 10, any regional version. You just connect to Wifi and make a call?
Trevlynn: Thanks for waiting. I'll be with you in just a moment.
Trevlynn: Wi-Fi calling will work when you are unable to connect to either a 3G or 4G network and have a minimum of 2MB speed. This means that if you can use your internet in that area, you will be able to use Wi-Fi calling in that area.
Trevlynn: You will need to check your Wi-Fi call settings to activate and once it has been activated, you just need to switch on Wi-Fi and call.
Me: With a Huawei Mate 10, any regional version?
Trevlynn: With all the devices listed on the webpage, if you can use your internet in that area, you will be able to use Wi-Fi calling in that area.
Me: So any Huawei Mate 10?
Trevlynn: Yes, there is only one model.
Trevlynn: The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is a different model.
Me: Well yes, but there's also a European, Asian and Chinese version of the Mate 10. But I take it they all work from what you've said. I'll take out a one month contract with ID Mobile to make sure it works
Trevlynn: I'll be right with you.
Trevlynn: We will only be able to confirm the same for the model sold in the UK.
Me: It's not officially sold in the UK - but the Mate 10 Pro is. This is why it's confusing.
Me: I had to get mine from Hong Kong.
Trevlynn: I understand now, however the Pro is not listed on in the comparability range online.
Me: Ok - so I'll have to take a chance, if I take out a one month contract - it work on that contract yes? I'll do that now.
Trevlynn: You will have 30 day to test the services and return if it does not suit your needs.
Me: Okily dokily - Thanks muchly
Trevlynn: Is there anything else I can do for you ****?
Me: Nah, thanks Trevlynn.
Info: The chat transcript will be sent to: at the end of your chat.
Trevlynn: Please register and make use of your My Account to view bills, monitor allowances and purchase add ons.
Me: Er, OK
Trevlynn: Thanks for chatting. To help us improve our service, we'd really appreciate your feedback - so could you answer a few questions about the service you've received today?
Me: yea
Trevlynn: Thank you for you time.

As you can see, I don't think the person I was speaking to was aware of there being multiple versions and firmwares of the same device. They do a bit of a politician and side-step fully confirming. They do categorically state it's not the Mate 10 Pro. I would be very surprised if they are actually supporting the Mate 10. Given that the phone was only updated to VoWIFI recently, I find this a bit hard to believe.
So given that ID Mobile allow a one month contract, I'm going to try it out......
I've got the pro on .129, and WiFi calling along with volte works perfectly on iD as it does three. Worked straight out of the box, unlike Vodafone where I had to get it activated on my account.

See that makes sense. I think ID Mobile have gotten it wrong and they support the Mate 10 Pro. But we'll see.
Do you have settings to turn it off and on? I don't. But maybe that's a network thing.
They've definitely got it wrong as it's working on my Mate 10 Pro!
Yes I have a WiFi calling option in the 'mobile network' menu. Nothing for volte - there's no ability to switch that on or off, it just seems to work and if it does you can't opt out.
Good luck with the standard Mate on iD, hopefully it's got a similar WiFi calling configuration to the pro so could work.

Question VOLTE / WIFI CALLING

Colleague over from HK on business with a Mi 11 to give to me as a gift (he a business contact and very generous). Wondering if it will be compatible with Three UK WiFi Calling and VOLTE? If not will just give to my mother and stick with my Note 20 Ultra until the s21 or OP9 etc
You probably have your answer by now, but for other people coming here: works fine for me with EE - UK
Hi All,
I am wonder if someone have checked WiFi and VoLTE calling in Australia (Telstra, Optus)?
Regards

Oppo Find X5 Pro Dual Sim Question

Hoping for help from someone who may already have an Oppo Find X5 Pro or at least knows more than me.
I have the chance to pre-order one of the phones here in Australia, but before I do I need to know if it accepts two physical sims.
I use my phone for work & personal with different numbers. My network does not support e-sims, so I need a phone that takes two physical sims, and I want dual standby.
Is the Oppo Find X5 Pro going to suit my needs?
Thanks in advance.

Question is the Redmi Note 10S compatible with TMobile USA?

I am considering this device, but I am new to Xiaomi devices, As I understand TMobile made mandatory Voice over LTE (VoLte).
Will this device be compatible? If yes does anyone have the instructions on how to activate the modem to work on that signal?
Yes it does support VoLTE, you can turn it on and off by settings. HD and even EVS(HD+) codecs but it lacks Band 66.
Hi, Thank you for replying to my inquiry. I wonder if anyone can share a video or screenshot of this on the Remi Note. I am trying to prove a point but unfortunately don't own any Xiaomi phones yet.
Once again Thank you
