Question Rosemary device: Hard brick: need help | *fixed - Redmi Note 10S

Soo, long story short, i hard bricked this phone and i definitely need good advice. Please bear with me:
I got a Poco M5s,
I wanted to install official PE on it.
I successfully unlocked bootloader (mtk client method)
I ****ed up because i flashed the recovery, but it was for the wrong MIUI version (i had A13 - SFFEUXM and PE needs A12 - RKLMIXM)
Then i compounded my mistake because i booted to fastboot over linux and flashed A12 - RKLMIXM (flashall.sh). The phone never booted after that.
Now the phone is fully unresponsive: Black screen and power/volume buttons seem to do nothing.
I tried to use SP Flash to reflash A13 - SFFEUXM, but it failed and wanted me to remove battery and retry.
I tried to disassemble the phone, specifically removing/reattaching the battery plug: no change in response & SP flash did not seem to download anything
I also tried to see if mtk client can detect the device, but worryingly, it thinks it is a Helio G90 (MT6785) instead of G95, and then fails with "DAXFlash - [LIB]: Error on sending emi: unpack requires a buffer of 12 bytes"
I'm totally disappointed at this point. Is this salvageable? What can i do?

Thank you very much! I managed to restore it with this!
I also learned a bit about "EDL mode".
One more question: Can i actually rollback to MIUI 12.5? What did i do wrong before?

I have tried to rollback to 12.5 too. Got a bootloop. So I searched online about it and found out that you need to use the latest Mi Flash tool ( I used 2020 version ). Then I tried with the 2022 version but this time I was getting a timeout error. The flash was stopping at 700 seconds. Since I have a really old and slow PC, it takes about 1200 seconds to flash. After that I have given up.
Which version of Mi Flash tool did you try? Try with the latest version if you have a relatively fast PC.

I've tried various miflash versions (2017,2018,2020,2022). It always times out.
On linux, i managed to complete a flash using "flash_all.sh", but that's how i bricked it.

Hello, don't know if it is the good place for this but I have done the latest update (I have a Poco M5s with the version 13.0.10.0) and I just found the recovery flash for it (same version, Global.). I managed to unlock the phone after a few weeks of the phone being unrecognized by the pc, no matter how hard I tried to get the updated adb and android drivers. The latest Windows update included the Android drivers (which enabled me to unlock the bootloader).
I am planning to flash it using Magisk, any advice or things I should know?

MIUI Global 7.2.4.0.0 uses A LOT of RAM. (?)

Hello. Couldn't find a post related to this. I'm not a lazy browser, been on XDA for many years through many phones. Just haven't had the need for a user account until now.
I see the 7.2.4.0.0 version is removed from MIUI websites and i can think of a few reasons already.
Does anyone else have this problem too? I have the 3GB version and normally start out with 1.7gb RAM after a boot. Gradually over the day (even after closing apps) it goes slowly down to 200mb and i have to do a reboot.
Or Does anyone have the 6.5.30 version and could tell if it uses up the RAM over time?
Sincerely
John

You have a fake rom. 7.2.4.0.0 is not an official MIUI rom and newer was. 7.2.4.0 is an official rom.
You should flash the official rom.

You are on an un-official modefied version.
The fake version is 7.2.4.0.0 <- your version.
The real official and supported by Xiaomi version is 7.2.4.0
Hi,
Hope I can get some help. I recently just picked up a unit and am on 7.2.4.0.0. Realised it was a fake rom but I seem to have trouble flashing the global rom or the china stable rom. Believe my bootloader is locked at this point and have applied through the unlock miui website but that will take at least 10 days or more to get the SMS.
Frustratingly, I have seen some solutions on the miui forum and there was one proposed solution, of which many were finding success, that includes booting to recovery mode and then hitting shift + [flash] when connected to the Chinese miPCsuite. My update only goes by to mid 50% levels and then its stuck on for several hours! Is this a USBC to USB port incompatibility issue (if it was it wouldn't have recognized the phone right?) or is my phone just beyond saving ? At this point, im not confident in using other solutions as they look highly technical and some have highlighted that their phone has bricked in doing so.
Appreciate any advice! thanks. PLEASE HELP!

if you already tried the simple steps as stated then there are no more simpl steps left.
Do an EDL flash and make sure you clear all, and be aware that most Mi flash stuff works best on Windows 64Bit.

What he said, download the latest, both files can be obtained HERE
-MiFlash tool - step 1
-official fastboot rom - step 2
install the MiFlash tool
extract the downloaded rom (tgz) then extract the output file (tar) > make sure you copy the path of the directory where you see all the files like flash_all flash_all_lock etc..
reboot your phone into fastboot mode (you can access this by turning off your phone, hold vol - and power)
make sure you have adb on your pc
type this: the first line is optional to see if the phone is recognized.
Code:
fastboot devices
fastboot oem edl
edit: I should mention, do not panic, the screen of the device will turn black but will still remain on.
launch the MiFlash tool
Click on Refresh, you will see a device right now in the list called COM (some number) >>>> it will be ticked
Paste the copied directory path into the white... uhh search bar thingy . or just click Browse and select the appropriate path.
Click Flash
edit: once done, simply unplug your phone and restart it by pressing the power button.
That should be all

Thanks for the reply! Before proceeding, I actually received the SMS to unlock the bootloader but im still at work so I cant go back and attempt the unlock. So just trying to manage my expectations here.
Is it safe to assume that all I need to do now is log in to the unlock tool by miui and unlock? because im still on 7.2.4.0.0 (the unofficial discontinued rom) and I have no way of flashing it to any other roms. My last attempt last night was again, stuck at 52% after a nights worth of wait! TT

Thanks for the help. I will attempt this as a last resort. I just received the SMS to unlock my bootloader. Hopefully its as simple as logging in and unlocking so I can get rid of this pesky 7.2.4.0.0 supposed "Global" rom.
i have successfully flashed to global rom!!! but now i have no audio coming from the speakers!!!! is it just my luck!!!??? and after reflashing again.. its completely dead.. its goes into the sign in to miui welcome page and just goes insane.. like to the point where i cant even select options and and random menu sounds keep coming up.. cant even turn off i had to reboot to fastboot.. is a goner? sighs..
7.2.4.0.0 to Resurrection Remix (CM13)
- unlock bootloader
- flash TWRP with fastboot
- install Resurrection Remix
- install GApps
- reboot, now it's say Google play stopped.
- go back to TWRP
- wipe data
- reboot and everything is working

Accidentally Locked the bootloader with the custom rom installed

So I installed a custom rom in my new k20 pro lately, and accidentally locked the device after installed the custom rom inside. Now, my device is refusing to open the new rom and stuck in redmi recovery mode. It said that "this MIUI version cant be installed on this device". I tried to unlock the phone again, but xiaomi said that it takes at least 30 days to unlock a new device. Im kinda sad and confused about this, please help.
How did you lock the bootloader with custom ROM installed?

Did you try to flash custom rom using miflash?
Hi! I have the same issue on my Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro (It was Chinese) but it came unlocked with xiaomi.eu rom.
After i installed a global rom, and google wallet nfc pay did not work, so i thought okay i will lock it then so maybe wallet would accept it, (with the eu rom it worked before) so i put the device in fastboot and used fastboot oem lock on cmd...
And from then it stucks on miui recovery 5.0 screen, and says, this miui version can't be installed on this device...
I might not enabled oem unlocking before i shut if off, but i added it to my mi account so i dont know if after a week i can maybe unlock it. But i think the other possible solution would be to sideload the original chinese stock rom, which is for M2102K1AC, Mi 11 pro, codename mars, but i couldn't find it anywhere... If someone can upload a link to it, that would be a huge help! Or any idea! thx!

HI! i got a mi 11 pro 1 year ago, and it was offically chinese, but it came unlocked with Xiaomi.eu firmware, but i could't update it via the updater app, so i searched and found the global star version and just flashed it, everything worked, only now google pay nfc didnt work, it said that its probably because of the unlocked bootloader, so i got to fastboot and in cmd i sent fastboot oem lock, and since then my phone is stuck in miui recovery 5.0 screen and says that i cannot run this firmware on the device, i tried to unlock it but failed, maybe after a week, but i think that i didnt turn on oem unlocking on the phone itself before this... So im just hoping that after a week unlocking could be done... Or my other idea is, that i could install the original chinese rom with sideload, because i managed to install another global version on it since, but the result is still the same, the only problem is that i cannot find literally anywhere a mars codenamed firmware...

Anyone who might have the same situation, i found a simple, but effective solution, not sure if it works on every xiaomi device, but i will write down the steps here:
You need to use XiaomiADB, here is the download link and the description for how to use it -> https://xiaomiui.net/how-to-use-xiaomiadb-8044/ (if the page is not available, then feel free to msg me!)
For xiaomi adb, you need to go to 3rd option on the miui recovery screen, NOT THE FASTBOOT
So basically i went through the steps to “xiaomiadb sideload_miui <filename>”
And I tried to install a rom, BUT IT DIDNT ACCEPT IT!
The message was:
ERROR: This rom cannot be installed, server code -> 2001, server message -> Can't install unofficial rom
after trying 4 times all the same and: Installation of this rom via stock recovery is not allowed by Xiaomi
Says Installation failed, and then i just decided to download another rom so i PLUGGED OUT THE PHONE right after this, and went to another room to connect to wired network, to download and try a different rom... when i came back, to all my surprise, the phone was turned on, so i went to the setting dev ops and enabled bootloader unlocking, linked it to my account enabled adb and everything that is needed to flash another rom later, so then i rebooted and again, miui recovery 5.0 screen, but now i enabled unlocking, so i put the phone in fastboot, and tried MI UNLOCKER TOOL again, now it says: Please unlock 168 hours later. And do not add your account in MIUI again, otherwise you will wait from scratch.
So that means, after 7 days i wll be able to unlock it, until then, i can turn it on with the above method, in short try to sideload (copy and install) a rom to it, and then after it failed, plug it out and just wait like 10-20 maybe 30 seconds and bam your device is normally booted... I hope it helps to some of you, (i have been searching for the solution for almost a week, my other option was to pay someone who can MAYBE do it or send the phone back to china and pay the repairs, so im really happy with this method! If it helps to you, please reply so i and the others will know that it worked! Have a nice day!

Mi8 H3G ROM

Hi, I'm a new user in the UK. My phone is running MIUI 10.3.4.0 Stable. I've tried to update through XDA forums to 10.3.5.0 but get a message that I can't downgrade.
I've tried to download the official MIUI 11 package from the website and this tells me that my current ROM carrier is different to that in the update package.
My system info says I'm running global 10.3.4.
Can anyone explain why I can't update and what I need to do to update.
I've found out that the ROM is specific to Three UK. Will unlocking the bootloader enable me to install the global ROM without me having to wait for Three to get their arse in gear?
Phone Mi8
Thanks
James

As soon as you can unlock your bootloader you should give Xiaomi.EU a try, its the bleeding edge development rom, and is extremely stable, and much improved over your current version. It is a huge improvement.
Plus the security certificates are dated Jan 2020
Thanks, I'll give that a go. I've got the software from Xaiomi website. Thanks again.
Well, that didn't work. Can't get any version to install. Time for a rethink.
I had this discussion with three yesterday as they are the ones that are holding it back. The guy I spoke to didn't have a clue. So much so he tried giving me Hauwei number so I could call them to resolve it. Then he gave me xiaomi's number. But when I told him to stop being silly and just explain why they are the only carriers holding it off and restricting the latest security on our phones he's said that they were in the process of looking into whether it would be better for their customers. I told him I was a customer and it should be up to me to decide and I didn't need a babysitter he just gave a generic "we are in the process of looking at it" so if you're on 3 as we are I don't think it will be pushed out on an OTA anytime soon.
Thanks. I've unlocked the bootloader now. Still unable to install a global or EU ROM so I'm going to install TWRP and flash it that way once I've backed it up.
Well, I'm glad to say I've solved it without having to root the phone. Just need to relock the bootloader again incase I need to sell the phone on.
I had to install TWRP through fastboot then install the zip file. The only issue I had was being unable to install the ADB on windows 10 so ended up swapping hard drives, installing Windows 7 then installing the drivers. That seems to have done the trick.

Yes, Windows 10 is absolutely ridiculous. but you can get Adb tools to work on Windows 10 by disabling driver signature enforcement.

Question Question regarding firehose

Hi all,
while flashing Xiaomi.EU ROM I ran into some issues that lead to my Mi11 getting bricked. I used one of the EDL services and within minutes my phone was running again. We flashed 12.0.13 EEA during the recovery process.
However, the first flash attempt showed an error. Something with firehose. The guy immediately knew what to do and removed the following file from the ROM folder: prog_firehose_ddr.elf
Afterward, the second flash process was completed successfully. I asked him, why the file had to be removed and what it is for (and if there is now a compromise to the installed ROM). He answered, that it is too long to explain and that the phone is like how it would leave the factory. No worries, everything is back to stock/default.
Could maybe someone briefly explain if this is something I need to worry about or if it is really okay? I tried to find what the file is used for but apart from a general description regarding the firehose protocol, I couldn't find an explanation for my scenario (and no other guide or instruction ever mentions removing that file in case of errors).
Thank you!
Do you know what was the caused you've bricked your phone? Planning to flash EU as well but reading most global mi 11 phones got bricked in the process?and how much did you pay for edl (unbridled) just in case.thanks
Not really. I installed the latest regular update (EEA version) after unlocking the bootloader and then tried to install the latest available Xiaomi.eu ROM. In the guide, they say that you should update the latest available China ROM. Someone here or over there asked if it would be required to migrate from EEA to China first and then to Xiaomi.eu and one of their devs declined that. So, I went the direct route. Maybe that caused the issue but apparently, there are many people at bricked their device. Others had to re-start the flashing process several times until it went through. Honestly, I would wait for now until this process is more reliable. If I had to do it again, I would flash China ROM first.
I updated eea before unlock. After unlock I restarted but have not finished the initial process, instead rebooted into fastboot and flashed the xiaomi.eu Rom without issues. The only issue I had was the bad usb cable I used (pc doesn't recognize the phone) after using the included cable all went fine.
Can you maybe share the files the unbricker used?

Question Redmi note 10 Pro not flashing, not booting

Long story short, my gf Redmi Note 10 Pro somehow got to MIUI Recovery menu and 3rd party service managed to erase recovery and everything from the phone and gave back the fresh looking brick stuck on Fastboot!!!
I have successfully flashed EEU Sweet ROM (Europe (EEA) latest Fastboot ROM MIUI V12.5.6.0.RKFEUXM) on the Global version though and after that it comes to recovery menu but it shows in red "NV data is corrupted" now I am clueless what to do next. Desperate me tried to flash Global latest Fastboot ROM MIUI V12.5.9.0.RKFMIXM but it gives Anti Rollback error so based on info here https://www.xda-developers.com/xiao...78.2028059671.1642858063-854958160.1642858063 I have checked the Anti_version.txt of the current ROM and the one I try to install and both is on 3 so based on the info I should be able to flash to the same number but it wasn't successful so I tried to edit Flash_all.Bat file and remove the ARB check commands but even after that I still get the ABR error. What should I do? Am I taking a wrong path in solving the issue? Would flashing it again solve the "NV data is corrupted" issue?
I dunno if this helps, but I was stuck in Fastboot as well at some time. Nothing helped, not even flashing through fastboot. The only tool that helped me was the Xiaomi Tool V2 https://www.xiaomitool.com/V2/ here. No ad or something but this really helped alot without problems.
Other possible problem by another user: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/redmi-note-10-pro-sweet-nv-is-corrupted-fixed.4345659/
Maybe you installed the wrong rom?

Thanks, DLin the tool you mentioned atm but yes I did dl a EU version on global which I read it is no issue as long as it is not on Chinese version. It all started suddenly, out of nowhere the phone rebooted on Fastboot so it was taken to a 3rd party service and their they tried to fix it by wiping the phone to an unrecoverable state and said this is a new model so the files are not yet published you better take it to an authorized service!!!Oh I am mad! I'll report after trying the tool. Btw the other solution you mentioned was the 1st thing I tried but the file in 1st step is removed from the hosting server and someone asked the thread creator to reupload but no reply yet :/

Ok so now I tried with the tool and interestingly I had to make choices which were not easy and obvious anyhow, it didn't work
It gives the below error and seems to be called "sideload" status issue. But the phone now still reboots on Main Menu with the same old "NV data is corrupted"
