Question Reflashing stock ROM on bootlooping device - POCO M3 Pro / Redmi Note 10 5G

Hi.
Bought this phone 4 months ago and it went into a boot loop, where it would only show the battery empty icon. Yesterday, I tried turning it on again and noticed, that it's stuck at the Redmi - Powered by Android" screen. From this screen, I can enter fastboot. See this video:
VID_20230417_194410.mp4
drive.google.com
I've read that there are a couple of options for reflashing this device:
- aks someone with the authorized Xiaomi account to reflash stock rom using the MiFlash tool (no bootloader unlock needed)
- put the device somehow into ETL mode and reflash stock rom using the MiFlash tool (no bootloader unlock needed)
I've tried contacting someone, who for #1, but they aren't willing to help, for some reason (I'm wiling to pay). For #2, I'd have to open up the device, which I'd like to avoid doing.
Would anybody know of any other options for fixing this?
Thank you in advance!

okay, which version of MIUI are you running?
first get the fastboot rom of the version your phone supports , i recommend the global version fastboot rom , because it works and its stable and u get your updates
download this fastboot rom first
Temporary file download page
miuirom.org
and I will give you the MI flash tool working version at like 6 hours after, Ill post the remaining steps after you download this , btw, you will get a .tgz file , when u download the Rom, thats the one you need

If you can boot into fastboot, then it is already enough.
Now, I suppose your bootloader is still locked
You need to download a MIUI ROM from "EEA", from any trusted website, and remember to download the "Fastboot" ROM to flash it (my favorite is mifirm.net, it downloads faster)
Install MiFlashPro - attached at the end of the thread
Open it up, and you will be greeted with this.
Click on the "Mi Flash" tab, as it is the only one we need.

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
You will be greeted with this window now:
After you have done downloading your ROM, extract it to any place.
If MiFlash does not recognise the directory you have extracted in, move it to C:\. Not any external drive, your main one
Now click on the "select" button box, go to your ROM directory, and simply select its folder
Boot your device into fastboot (PWR + VOL-), click on "refresh" button box and your device serial number should appear on the first line.
Now simply click "flash" and let it do its job for 10 to 15 minutes. It will reboot automatically.
If you dont succeed, please read this thread:
Thread '[GUIDE] UNBRICK YOUR HARD-BRICKED MTK' https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-unbrick-your-hard-bricked-mtk.4564029/
You will require BROM and to bypass and to flash via SP Tool.

You have either got confused, or being scammed
Newer MTK devices do not require the opening of the device. I suppose you have been probably confused with a Qualcomm Snapdragon based service, that does require the opening, so you can access EDL mode and flash your phone into life, or someone just put up the Redmi Note 10 5G and is a scam, also, on MTK, you do not need to pay for a authorized Mi account. On MTK, it is easily bypassable due to BROM

Thank you both.
I put ran MiFlashPro, pointed it towards the downloaded eea stock rom file and attempted to flash it, but got this error message:
So I presume this is due to locked bootloader? I'll try to follow the second link.

I actually managed to enter recovery mode and do a factory reset. Currently setting it up and plan on updating it.

Good to hear you got sorted. I basically bricked my phone last week (only 3 weeks old ) after trying to switch from MIUI 13 Global to EEA. I managed to get it into BROM mode and used MTK Auth Bypass which allowed me to use Chimera Tools to flash the phone again as nothing else seems to work with a locked bootloader. Currently running MIUI 14 with root and magisk optimisations (blur/high end tweaks, MIUI monet etc) and loving it! Just need a way to bypass Play Integrity API for Google Wallet

Hello. Instructions for unlocking the bootloader.
-------------- Responsibility for your bricks I do not take over. Everyone does at their own peril and risk .--------------
Downloa ( Google)
1) Install the driver for the phone (in the header);
2) Install a special driver, find it in the Unlock_BootLoader \ Driver for Winwos \ DriverSetup.exe folder;
3) It is necessary to unwind the phone, remove the cover;
4) It is necessary to disconnect the battery;
5) It is necessary to close the contacts (Photo);
6) Connect the phone to the PC;
7) Open the program Unlock_BootLoader.exe, there is a menu at the top, the item: "Operations> Settings> You need to select the Unlock_BootLoader.xml file"
8) After selecting the Unlock_BootLoader.xml file, click "Operations" again and click Start. Or press the green play button.
9) Done. Now you have TWRP_Mod installed in the Recovery section.
Additionally
The method works both with a locked bootloader and an unlocked bootloader. The only difference is that how to use this program at the moment when the bootloader is unlocked, then you do not need to disassemble the phone and put it into TEST POINT mode.
If the bootloader loader, then the program flashes TWRP_Mod.img to the Recovery section. After flashing, the phone will automatically reboot and the bootloader will remain locked. But TWRP_Mod.img will work. If you need a full unlocking of the bootloader, then you need to prepare several other files. There was no time for that. I made the method only for flashing custom recovery.
In the video, my bootloader is unlocked. I had a chance to block the bootloader and delete all data, so I made a video with the unlocked bootloader.
With a locked bootloader, exactly the same thing, the only difference is that you will need to switch the phone to TEST POINT modeYoutube video

Wow
Specific what version of Pie do you have on Honor Play?
can u also tell if we have a method by which we can unlock our bootloader. If its possible using this technique then we can have development for our device. More people will be available to use the roms.

I know lot of people already know but for everyone else's clarification Test Point or EDL Mode requires physically opening the phone and shorting 2 electric points together something like the following video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8salW6m-z8
I do not know exactly where those 2 point are on honor play.
But one good thing is opening honor play is comparatively easy as it does not require heating the screen with some heatgun. There are 2 special screws and then the screen is clasped.

the IDT started to flash the image and I got the successful PASS green message in the end.
The bootloader is temporary unlocked in testpoint mode
however, even if I have kept the VOL UP button pressed and removed the usb cable to reboot directly in the recovery mode (to prevent the overwrite with the default eRecovery) it still brings me to the default eRecovery menu.
I have even tried to flash TWRP manually in fastboot (using the tespoint mode to temporary unlock the bootloader) and I got the img file sent and written.
However, it still brings me to the default eRecovery.
Do I do something wrong or miss something? becase flashing of any image is successful but I can't get anything changed on the phone (just getting OKAY or success messages on the pc)
For everyone here trying by opening up the phone, make sure you DON'T touch any other 2 points or your motherboard will short-circuit and become unusable.

Did you try going to recovery through command line?
Code:
fastboot reboot recovery
(or reboot-recovery)

Why would people have to take this tedious route to unlock their Huawei or Honor smartphones? Huawei as a company should listen and release bootloader to those who wish to unlock their system. They can put in place an agreement to be accepted by those who want to unlock their phones and expected no warranty after doing so. This is very simple to do.
Can someone confirm test point connectors on the play please?
Doesn't look too difficult imho.

Please help, pins edl worn out

I recently bought a bricked xiaomi mi8.
My problem is I can't get into edl mode cause the 2 pins are worn out really badly, (the previous owner literally dig into them and try to create a bridge by scratching the motherboard..)
I test both the pins with the multimeter and they are permanently connected to the ground and from each other I guess..
My questions are:
-can I unbrick the cellphone without edl
-if not can I eventually fix those pins (see attachment)

You no longer need to jumper the pin to get into EDL, you can enter EDL with this version of TWRP : https://mega.nz/#!QstBnAaD!V6riZpEjctWhzWhoFcDDEv0wRlFESfcEsxAHpdaerxE
Or by using the EDL adb command. Granted I realise that if you are bricked, that you do not have fastboot and that is likely the least of your issues if the phone is bound to someone else's MiCloud account.
Another option for entering EDL is to is use a EDL flash cable : Such as this one : https://www.amazon.com/GPG-EDL-Cable-2-in-1/dp/B06XXCLMGM
Once in EDL you can use the flashall.bat method to restore the phone to stock using a Full stock rom for the device that you have. If you device is a Global phone you need to use the fastboot version of the Global Stable rom.
You unpack the rom on your desktop, twice : The 2 GB will uncompress into a 4GB file, uncompress that file to see individual images. Locate the FlashAll.bat file and double click it ( of course with the phone attached and in EDL mode or fastboot mode.
This flashall,bat file will restore all partitions, and the phone will boot. The next issue, will be signing in to MiCloud, If the bootloader is unlocked you may be able to simply flash TWRP, Root, Rom of choice, and Gapps if needed. If the bootloader is locked and the device is bound to someone else account you are stuck. Unless you have the account credentials from the previous owner.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck.
First of all thanks for ur reply.
I have the bootloader locked and I think the previous owner didn't register in a miui account..
I can enter into fastboot mode but the edl adb commands or trying flashing the rom are not working on this mi8 (maybe I'm doing it wrong idk..)

You tried the cmd : ( fastboot oem edl ) ? A Lot of people who have this issue are able to use the EDL cable that I linked in the earlier comment, you should buy it, its cheap or you can google how to make one yourself.
Here is an older post that may have some useful advice: http://en.miui.com/thread-290959-1-1.html
Here is another older post that is very interesting, and I just now found it : Try these steps. Obviously using the correct software for the Mi8 ( the link is for a Mix 2. However, at this point what will it hurt?) http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=3450268
If you have a Mi Cloud account and no account is bound to the device try using the Mi Unlock tool to check the bootloader status, it should still work, as long as the desktop can see the usb ports from the phone. If you manage to get into EDL that will be port 9008. If you can get into EDL using the commands in the post above, you can then sideload the stock rom to the phone...hopefully. The basic steps for EDL are outlined here : https://c.mi.com/thread-1479882-1-0.html
If no MiCloud account is bound to the phone, I am sure that you will be fine once a stock rom has been reinstalled. ( the one prior to the brick) If the phone is not bound and is locked you will still need to perform the unlock steps. Also, as we mentioned you don't necessarily need to open the phone to go into EDL.
Otherwise, you will need the assistance of n official Xiaomi Support shop.
Good Luck.

Device stuck in TWRP

Hello,
I am not sure if I am right here, because I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Global, but here is no place for this model.
Besides that I have a small, I guess it is a big problem, with my Phone.
I tried to install the clean version of MiUI with the XiamiTool V2 ... but the whole Story started one week ago:
About one week ago I tried to reinstall my Phone with the XiamiTool V2. Everything looked good, it found my model and even told me that it can download the custom rom automatically. But I had the 7 day lock. So I waited.
Yesterday I tried it again. But the tool was not shown the custom rom anymore. It didn't even find the correct TWRP.
After a bit research I found the codename joyeuse for my phone. I downloaded the TWRP and custom rom for it, gave it to the tool and it worked.
But then ... my phone booted only into TWRP. The tool did not recognize my phone.
After a bit of google I find the Xiaomi Flash Tool. But the tool tells me that my device and rom version are missmatching. Now I am stuck and don't know what to do.
/Edit:
I just checked online which phone I have:

Are you frozen in a black screen?
Now I was able to bring back my phone to the original ROM. The flash_all.sh works for me great.
But how do I install the clean xiaomi.eu version?
I tried this video, but it still keeps rebooting into TWRP.

Question Mi 11 Ultra (you are unlocking a special device which should do with special permissions)

Hello, i tried to install official ROM(V12.5.4.0.RKAMIXM_20210611.0000.00_11.0_global) on Mi 11 Ultra through MiFlash 2020.3.14.0 by using clean all and lock, because i wanted the phone to be in the locked state for some bank programs. But the ROM wasn't installed and the device is locked now. The problem is then i try to use miflash_unlock-en-5.5.224.24 i am getting this error message - you are unlocking a special device which should do with special permissions.
Does anyone has any idea how to bypass it ?
something seems wrong in what you say. if device is locked with the wrong ROM then you are doomed.
you are going back to MI version from what version?
Someone on a different thread shared this tool that requires JAVA to run it. I used it before and it was way better than MI flash tool. you can use it to unlock, lock, download latest rom, flash, update, etc.

both same, I used JAVA over JDK.
before you proceed with the tool above, try to hold power button and volume button for 12-14 sec's multiple times. sometimes it works from 2nd or 3rd or 4th try.

Maybe the whole story is you have to go to fastboot, open MI unlock tool, login with any account that was approved to unlock a device before trying to unlock, and then try to unlock the device.
Anyone tried this way? I mean using the account of another mi11ultra device on the bricked one. Maybe this is what the guys on telegram do?
Ok, so basically i would suggest everyone just find a guy through telegram and let him unbrick it. They do that with the token verification by using Xiaomi auth tool. It is not that easy to get this tool. So i would suggest just to pay for the fix.

Question My redmi note 10 pro max stuck in recovery mode after flashing

Hello. I have unlocked my bootloader last night and flashed my redmi note 10 pro max through fastboot mode today. After flashing xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote10Pro_V14.0.2.0.TKFMIXM_v14-13 rom, my phone started rebooting, MIUI 14 logo appears but suddenly it went into recovery mode directly within 04-05 seconds. Now if I reboot the phone, it opens but after 04-05 seconds it again went into recovery mode. I tried wipe out and safe mode option too. The scenario is the same for both cases. Asking for your help regarding this

I think you dl'd the global stable, not EEA for EU. You want the 14.0.3.0 for EU.

yes may be. what to do now? how can i flash any other rom?
Put on your phone and try the Apply Update from your recovery. I believe it looks in the downloaded_rom folder in Downloads on internal SD.
There is no such things like apply update in the recovery mode.
how can i flash custom recovery without turning on USB Debugging? as I can't open my mobile right now I ain't able to turn on the usb debugging. please suggest

Correction. The downloaded_rom folder is not in Downloads, but beside it in the root of internal C. Try creating that folder in Windows with the phone connected and put the file in there then reboot and see if it installs automatically. If not or you do not see the phone in Windows, then you can flash the version of TWRP for your phone using the official TWRP source location and install from it. You stated it is unlocked already, and USB Debugging may not be a problem since this is a stock MIUI ROM. Use the 3.7.x from twrp.me.
Can you still get fastboot? If that case, I'd revert to stock with MiFlash and start again...

I can get to fastboot mode. but as my usb debugging is off, my pc doesn’t recognize my device.what to do then?
Don't quote me on this, but I think MiFlash doesn't need USB debug, only the right drivers.

will try then. thanks!
Try flashing TWRP without USB Debugging from fastboot. It might work. Then you can flash your install file inside it, which being MIUI, it should not require USB Debugging either.
hello, to use fastboot you don't need usb debugging, usb debugging works with user confirmation only with the system started, instead, in custom recovery it works automatically, if you want to restore your smartphone, you can do it by downloading the latest miui fastboot for your device from here: https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/
once you download the right package (be careful what you download!), you will have to flash the rom via fastboot, you can use mi flash if you are comfortable with it, be careful with the options below, if you leave "flash and lock" it will flash, but it will lock the bootloader, if you don't want to lock it, select "clean all". good luck
