Restoring Messages from a "copy" backup?

I just updated my Xperia using the update service and when prompted to backup data, I made a full copy of the Mobile Content via USB to my PC thinking that this is an "Update" so contacts, SMS, installed programs should remain.
Of course everything was deleted, and fortunately enough I was able to sync back my contacts, but I have totally lost all SMS.
Is there any way to restore the SMS back to Xperia from the copied files I made? Are Messages stored in the file directory in a way to make it possible to copy back?

I'll refresh this to ask if messages are kept in a specific file/folder in phone ?
same question with email/calendar actually
would be worth to know for a manual backup

BTW: I don't know exactly if that was you, but in the last days someone posted the same question allways 2 times in seperate threads and now I saw that you have post a similar question in other thread, please post in one thread and don't post same question in multiple threads. When you did that the first time, just see that as a hint, when you do that more often please reduce that. That improves the overview.

neofoox thank you for help & your remarks. I realized I repeated the question perhaps too many times, that was because I thought there's not too many people visiting these forums now. I wanted to delete the unanswered topic but seems there's no such option.
I've also repeated myself in some topics regarding hardSPL through SD card which I did succesfully because I thought it was an unknown method (at least someone confirmed so) so it might help others but not all of them interested are subscribed to every similar topic.
btw as I have full access now to my old broken-lcd X1 though PC so I can do workaround to backup messages: pim backup in phone so I can transfer it to SD/PC and then to my current one

RemountSD not working on lg-d410hn

Hi, i will resume my problem, i have a lg-d410hn, and needed more space for my app's ,i have installed the remountSD and configured (but, putting the directory of internal memory, i have some difficulty, because have 3 or 4 directorys for the internal memory, i tried all, but nothing worked, the external card, i found only one... (i don't know why have only 3 directory)) nothing worked, when i reboot the phone, appears the mensage to inform the permission to remountsd.... but the memory don't change... i'll let the phone information here:
Model Name:LG-d410hn
Android Version:4.4.2 (kitkat)
kernel version:3.4.0+
ROM: Default/Stock Rom

Are you having nightmares trying to restoring your Oneplus 7T to stock? This is for you.
This package will restore your Oneplus 7T to 10.3.2 stock. Make sure you have backed up the data, stock restore will wipe everything.
*Disclaimer* I am not the owner of these files nor have I in any way modified any of these files. I have however restored my Oneplus 7T (Indian variant) several times using this. Use at your own risk and discretion.
Instructions
1. Install 7-zip
2. Download and Extract the zip (*.7z file)
3. open Command prompt into the extracted folder
4. reboot your phone into fastboot (power off > press power button+both volume buttons)
3. Run "flash wipe both all everything.bat"
4. Lock the bootloader by typing "fastboot oem lock"

[HELP] How to get rid of a virus that can control hard disk sectors?

In the early time (probably April,2022, I think.) my friend is playing my Garry's Mod on my computer by Remote Desktop(port 443) (because COVID-19),Then he is installed a virus(developed by himself, based-on an open-source virus, I will give a un-modified source file on this thread) on my computer's “root/C:\Windows\SystemVPack”. Then he use this backdoor to take the full control of ESP partition and completely locked me out (He destroyed the efi GRUB loader config file, and makes me unable to access Ubuntu, In Windows I'm got a "No permissions" error when I want to access EFI partition and fix it by Windows Explorer.). Then my computer is became very unstable(Randomly crash dwm and svchost, CRITIAL_PROCESS_DIED, Invalid Internet proxy settings and a lot of else).Then I discovered this then talked to my friend, after some discussion about ethics and possible legal consequences, he said sorry to me and cleared the disk sectors of virus then I removed his permissions to access this PC by port 443, but my computer still very unstable and I'm unable to access regedit and cmd(include execute bat and reg file).
And there's still some left-over.
As I know, this virus can take full control(read, write, delete) with my disk sector.
Upgrade Windows by ESD is NOT WORK.
I‘d like to use low-level formatting as a last resort because I need to use my computer to attend online meeting everyday.

Are you really asking the mods to kill (terminate) your friend? ;-)
Why don't you just use a boot disk from backup programs like EaseUS, Macrium, Acronis etc. to back up your files on an external drive or on a cloud service and then wipe the whole disk?
Of course, there will be a lot of work to reinstall all software afterwards, but you could force your friend to do all the work, otherwise the mods will come there and terminate him.

There is no salvaging this situation. Cut your losses and move ahead.
Back up important files on a USB drive.
Get a new hard disk and start fresh OR do low-level format of the HDD.

Okay. I'm not dare to change a hard disk because this is a laptop; I need to wait until COVID-19 ends in my city so I won't need to have any online meetings. Then I will wipe everything on my disk. Thank you for helping me.
