Looking for a battery friendly rom or solution for AOSP android 13 - OnePlus 7 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

I prefer android aosp look and features. I want a rom that is battery friendly, im currently on pixel experience but im only getting 3h SOT, versus 5-6 with oxygen os. So im looking for a rom with good battery or a solution like magisk mod or something involving root like custom kernel etc.

My battery is at 80% health as per Accubattery.
I had better battery/performance relation with Paranoid Android
YAAP is good too, i need to test it with heavy tasks, but theres no noticeable overnight drain

G901F Best Battery Life Rom Discussion

I made this thread so that other users can discuss which is the best rom for G901F in terms of battery life.
It will save users the hassle of installing roms and then testing them for weeks to find out which is best.
So let the discussion begin!
Cynogenmod
I installed cynogenmod 12.1 where the battery life was not great, however then went back to cynogenmod 12 and battery life was much better. However after using the rom for a couple of months i have seen a steep decline in battery life even when phone is sleeping.
What is other users opinions on other roms?

Did you recalibrate the battery after updating to 12.1?
I use Simple GX Rom 1.4.1 with Kernel.
Battery life is very good. Nearly 0%/h in deep sleep.1-2% over night (9h)
I tried Nova 1.3 with stock kernel. Batterylife was a little bit lower than SimpleGX.
About 0,7%/h in deep sleep.
With Stock BOH4 Rom (Tmobile) i have lost 15-20% over night

Any rom with min of 5h sot and full oms support?

Hi, i am looking for any rom which offers minimum of 4-5h sot and support OMS, now i have AEX aosp i really like that rom but the battery is so rubbish. (about 3h sot) I had stock oos 4.1.6 i really enjoy it but it does not support fully oms... Any suggestions?
Please don't tell me that u got 6-7h sot but u don't use any social media apps, no one buy's a phone with snap821 and use messenger lite etc...

What has the processor to do with social media apps?
Its a fact that apps like facebook drain a lot of battery. As long as you use them that will happen on every rom.
4h SOT is like my worst case scenario on latest freedomOS CE. Mostly like 5-6 SOT.
But this highly is dependent of your personal usage (screen brightness, auto sync and ofc battery hungry apps like facebook).
I for example use "Friendly" for facebook which is way more battery friendly and has same features and even messenger inside.
noone can recommend you any ROM and say with this ROM you will have X hours of SOT. So thread title is kinda obsolete.

Since its OOS based, no. But you still can use special OOS substratum modules like Ozone, which is pretty great and feature rich.
For OMS you can use pretty much every non OOS based ROM. All big ones have it: RR, DU, AOSPA.
I tried these 3 also but always went back to freedomOS.
Apart from that you can use custom kernels like bluspark which might save some juice. Available for OOS based and custom Roms (lineage based).

I had the best battery life on freedomOS CE + bluspark kernel so far.
If you can live without OMS i'd recommend FreedomOS.
I had higher idle drain on AOSPA and a lot other users also reported that in the thread, but that was in early stage of the rom. I dont know how many and what updates they released since then. But AOSPA seems like the only real OOS alternative to me since its great camera.
I guess you can give AOSPA a try. If it doesnt suits you, go for FreedomOS CE (has touch latency improvements and other nice features which stable doesnt have) + custom kernel like bluspark or franco.
I know you want OMS but will talk about battery life
I recommend flashing custom OxygenOs rom like freedomOS or xXx No limits with bluspark kernel and you can easily achieve 5 hours SOT if you installed AKT profile

Just to let you know, there was a big update on AOSPA which seems to have fixed many problems.
Getting 9 hours using RR - Zenity with EXK. Not once but every day.. and a battery backup of 44-48 hours minimum.

And what apps do you have installed? Can you share us your setup, as well as the profiles you use, etc?

is it just me or does oreo battery life suck.?

So switched over finally to oreo 2 months ago on OB. Flashed every oos kernel and battery life just seems to suck compared to nougat. Sot has dropped significantly and idle drain is through the roof. I was getting 0.1-0.2%/hr idle drain on nougat and over 8 hours sot every day on nougat, happened to be running the Xceed kernel as well. Is it just me or does everyone seem to have this issue? Because, to be honest, a decrease from at least 8 hours sot to 4 hours is making me say f* the new awesome features and go back to nougat and get my battery life and performance back.
What kernel are you using ?
I have used boffela and Render zenith both gives me good battery backup and standby .. currently on Render zenith as it has EAS and providing me with amazing battery backup .. Just flash it and give some time like 2 days .you can see the difference... Custom roms most of them I have tried but not satisfied with the battery backup so moved to open beta

Currently on Renderzenith as well. So far the best for battery life under my usage. I know it differs from person to person but a decrease by half is not something I can consider an improvement.

Mi 8 poor battery life (not even 1 day)

Hello,
As described in the Title the battery life on my Mi 8 is very poor. From the beginning it really wasnt that good and I could not understand how people could say it has really great battery life. Now as it gets older and the Battery degrades, it has become worse and i cannot even get trough the day.
AccuBattery says SOT of 3:20 and a battery capacity of 89%
Any suggestions how to improve Battery?
Thanks

Install a custom rom
I would recommend you install revolution os based on last version of miui 10
Clean flash this version

Well, I had similar problems on MIUI. First try to flash a custom kernel which gives you some tweaks, performance and battery update. If the battery is still very bad go to AOSP ROMs

Question crDROID vs ArrowOS battery life

Which ROM has the best battery life?
I have been using crDROID and the batter life is comparable to the stock MIUI. I tried ArrowOS for a little bit and it seemed to have longer battery life. I didn't use ArrowOS long enough to find out if it did truly have better battery life.
What has been your experience?
Battery life depend on personal use. Which differences with SOT have you seen?
With CrDroid (default kernel) I have between 4-5 hours SOT
imho too short. I want to try sleepy kernel first before I decide another rom

Like I said above, I didn't use ArrowOS long enough to know. But what I do know is that with the screen off, I lose 1% every five-ish minutes with crDROID and MIUI. ArrowOS didn't do that with my limited experience. For SOT, crDROID estimates 7 hours. I believe its more like 5-6, similar to your experience.

I didn't test crDROID.
but I have used Arrowos for 3-6 month it's ok ROOM but sadly no MIUI camera support on it, the battery life is great at the start but get shorter after long use, (maybe because of google play Update??)
"projectsakura" is way better if you want MIUI camera.

Did not try crdroid but I flashed ArrowOS 12L and can't tell any battery drain. Installed it 5 days ago and still have 20 odd per cents of battery left, waiting for the first full charge. I do not use any google apps/ services (gapps or else).
