Question Background noise reduction filters are too good - Sony Xperia 10 IV

Hello everyone!
I just registered on Xda but have read a lot in the past especially for modding Motorola and Sony devices.
I am not very skilled with android so apologies in advance.
I recently purchased a Sony Xperia 10IV XQ-CC54.
It is running android 12.
I have found that during a call nobody cannot hear my 3 year old son's voice. Or at best it comes and goes.
This does not happen during video recording.
I did a microphone test and there seems to be a huge range of frequencies that are not picked up.
I have tried to solve the problem through Sony support but all the options they have given me (safe mode, reset the phone, return the phone and buy another one) have not worked.
I also recently found a couple of users on reddit with the same problem.
I found that it might be the noise reduction function.
Since I like the hardware and everything else fits my needs, I would like to ask if there is a way to change the noise reduction.
Perhaps a specific application with root permissions?

Call Recording problems on X1 HELP!!!

Hello everyone,
can not say that it is like "to live or not to live" but still important, and i belie not only for me.
I have tried a lot of different call recording software for WM.
The problem is that during call recoding it just records the microphone, but not the dynamic.
It just works like simple Voice recorder.
Most advanced I think was the tool from Resco. It has even the input device list in which I've chosen "Cellular Line" but still... no result.
I even have few times changed the firmware
I'm interested:
1) If it's only in my phone and you did not experienced such problem on yours
2) You guys can do the miracle ???

anyone ?
I can't do the ICR as well.
However, many of the people in the forum said they can...
I am wondering how as well.
I think this is not software, this is hardware problem. Something with laws reasons. Anyway, no program to able to write sound from hardware speaker.
Another way to use that programs - try to use recording with BT hendsfree.

Thanks, but obviously there are people claiming that they can do it with their X1s. Therefore we are asking why and how.

Hmmm... I'm not sure, but seems to me they mean recording from BT. Try to use VITO AudioNotes, it works on my Jamin and LG KS20, but only via BT
You tried this?

The speakerphone trick is not possible while you are using it outdoors, which is unfavourable for most of the time
Thanks anyway
Have you try this?

For some reason, mine was there with the phone. During the call - press menu then select note. Another window appear with tools for record. I tried mine and it works. The conversation save under my document>calls... Perfect
Well

I just tried your method, it seems that it actually records passively via the vibrations from the speaker to the mic, or via the actual output from the speaker. Recording in a silent environment I can barely hear the person on the other end even at max volume.
I guess this option isn't really a working solution.
At this point it does make me think that there are hardware differences between X1s we have...
I am using X1i made in Y09W03, which I can't get the ICR to work...
Can those who make ICR work state their model and manufacture date as well?
Thanks
For a start, there may be some confusion here, some are using simply the notes application which can be accessed by menu (right softkey) during call and then record a sound in new note. Other it seems are using a recording software.
That being it, it is so unlikely, that it is nearing impossible that there would be hardware differences in the phone causing such significant difference in functionality. They have a specification to keep.
That being said, the cases describedas working I would put down to a difference in opinion on what "working" is considered to mean exactly.

How about BTHF?
I heard some people had claimed that they can record both streams through BTHF... ark... things getting confusing: but I just want ICR on my X1, for the best I just pick up the phone to record all the in call voices, or using the HF comes with X1, or the worst BTHF (which I dont have one right now).
Just to keep you updated:
BTHF - No Good.
In Mobile01, some users claimed that if you use plastic "jelly" type protection case, it will help you divert the other parties' voices from the earpiece to the microphone, which in case help the ICR.
I am looking into issues and possibilities from the threads in Touch HD to make ICR work with Xperia X1.
I just freakingly hate it when people make false claims. That in any other way doesn't help but rather contribute to confusions.
Firstly, you can't even say that it records voice calls simply because the extreme silenced environment enables the mic to hear the whispers coming from the earpiece of the phone. Or saying that you just have to turn on the speaker phone while on record.
That definitely isn't a way a developer would do to claim anything about recording voice calls.
I'm sure you guys have other phones rather than PPCs say later nokias and later SEs perhaps. Whenever someone is calling you, you can simply press softkey and press record, and it will record the conversation and "stop recording" whoever hangs up first which doesn't happen to notes-recording.
Reviewing the recorded message is simply just as clear as having two people on phone patch just like our President's phone patch scam.
Dude, by far this thing DOESN'T record voice calls as I have tried to search. These claims are just workarounds. And If this do ever record voice calls, then you wouldn't even have to search the whole damn features finding where the record button is. Simply put.

Thanks for your comments, but the fact is that the recent Touch HD movements have granted us some hopes. People in Taiwanese forums are making use of the patch to apply on various of HTC phones and got positive results - therefore this has given some people, at least the stupid me, to do some further testing and research before closing the issue prematurely.
Did everyone just give up or did someone find the "cure" and I missed it?
I have tried everything possible but have not been able.
Just out of curiosity is this possible:
I have seen a program that diverts the sound from the speakerphone to the earpiece for use with skype. Could a virtual device be created to emulate a speaker, have sound diverted to the virtual device then to the real earpiece or speakerphone? This would allow the virtual device to send the sound from the other party to the recorder and hence record both sides of the conversation.
Maybe the above makes no sense but just wondering.
If anyone has been able to record both sides of the conversation at reasonable volume levels on an X1, I am interested in finding out how.

Download Resco Explorer
Change the amplify level to your preferred settings
During phone call, make sure speakerphone is on
It works wonderfully.

Thanks but unfortunately that is not an option for me. I would like to record all calls and the speakerphone option is just too awkward for normal phone use.

[Q] Microphone problems

Hi folks, I had a search but didn't find anything conclusive.
Had my Nexus One for a few months now and although it isn't my main phone I am having some issues with the microphone when I do use it.
It seems to sometimes not work and others it does. However, if I put it on loudspeaker it works all the time. From what I have gathered, there are 2 microphones that get used on the one so I could be having an issue with one not working?
Also when it does work, it is very quiet or soft.
Does anyone know if I need a new microphone or if there is a fix I can do without buying a new part. If a new part is needed, does anyone know somewhere on the web where I can buy one?
Thanks,
Fraser

[Q] Need a help with something very strange

Hi All,
I do apologize if I made a topic in wrong place. Moderators, please transfer it to the right one if so.
Here is the usual problem that I'm having with my HTC ONE M7 Verizon and BMW X6M 2013. After each call, when I have finished conversation and clicked on the hang up. Its makes a huge NOISE to indicate that call is being finished. I have BMW Explorer that I went thru BMW CPU settings to check if its somehow BMW related problem. Sounds aka Noise is like Big "DONG" sound, and its 10 times louder then actual voice on the phone. I have checked with other model of BMW, that sound still exist, still the same, but MUCH MUCH lower volume, you barely can hear it at all. Some version of BMW it doesn't exist at all. All models were tested 2013+. Different phones like Iphones, works just fine. So I'm looking for an option in the phone itself to turn it off. Its not locked to Verizon its developer unlocked, and its not rooted (which could be done). Please help out, so desperate to get rid of this sound.
The sound you are hearing is coming from your car, not the phone. If its really bothering you, stop by your local BMW dealer and see if they can do anything to help. There are no settings on the phone for this.

Well I tried they have looked at me like I'm asking for a new Ferrari
Then you might want to post on some of the BMW forums or find a service tech that actually knows how to configure the more advanced functions of your bluetooth connection (not just how to pair with a phone...).

Lumia 930 defect mic fix with hack?

Hello everyone!
Not sure if it's been posted before, but there's a relatively big batch of Lumia 930 devices that have microphones that short circuit after a while. It's heavily discussed in this topic on Windows Central and I'm also a victim of it.
What happens is that 2 of the 4 mics (mostly at the back) on the 930 suddenly don't work anymore. Therefor the device can't record any sound while filming in Windows Camera (W10M), Whatsapp, Voice recorder, etc. Those apps use only the two back microphones. The front microphones are disabled or are used to cancel noise by default. When calling, the bottom front (still working) microphone is used.
Is there a hack that could make it possible to use the other (front) microphones on the phone to record sound while filming? Like a "use all microphones" hack? Or maybe a tweak to disable noise cancellation?
I checked in several forum if there is any solution to the problem , but almost all ask to take the appliance to a technical assistance .
My phone is no longer under warranty , the repair value is too expensive (better buy a new one)
But I'm thinking about changing the microphone , I saw that there are websites selling like this user ( brittech14) on Ebay.
Anyone know if replacing the microphone solves the problem ?
Also looking for an answer to this problem if it is either possible to disable mic 3&4, force apps to use mic 1&2 instead of 3&4 or a way to fix this by disassembly.
Would really appreciate if someone knows more about fixing this issue.
Hi,
The only way to solve mics problem is replacing them. Changing the mics functionality through software hacking is impossible. Since, the Lumia 930 has two product code, RM-1087 and RM-1045 (the latter is popular), as a small chance (but risky) you can try the firmware of RM-1087 on your device (Download Links).
Having the same issue with a phone that is out of warranty, curious if there is any solution, registry edit, tweak, etc. to remap 3rd and 4th mics to the working 1 and 2...
Fortunately, some of HW issues such as mic problem are supposed to be fixed in future w10m updates, probably RS2.
does not solve problem, just replaced the microphone still does not work

Question Realme GT2 - Audio issue with some software

Hi,
Not sure if its connected to the other common mic issue or not. In google meet specifically there is a lag during conferences as if the wifi is slow. So when I speak others can only hear it after a few seconds delay and the audio is sometimes breaking. If I switch to another phone on the same wifi its super clear and no issues. So its not the network thats causing the issue. Zoom etc works fine and its only in a few software where I have the issue. The problem is there in both bluetooth headset and using phone mic.
BTW the other phones I have are all Android 11 and below. So not sure if its an app compatibility issue with Android 12. Anyone else has any similar issues with this phone?
This was fixed with the latest android update just in case if anyone else is wondering
On version A.17 which is latest for European countries, didn't fix that.
Bad mic audio quality and very bad compatibility with majority of Bluetooth devices out there .
I am selling the phone after 15 days of purchase.
My problem apparently recurred again. Im now inclined to believe it could be some issue with my ISP and it randomly happens once in a while.
Issue still exists. Firmware is A19. I usually use Signal and Telegram and both app suffer because of it while every other phone I have tried works well in same circumstances. Using mobil net the problem disappears.
I'm on RMX3311_11_A.20 and the Problem still persists.
I can't believe that Realme is crippling a phone, just because they refuse to fix the bitrate. I've been playing around with setEdit but it doesn't change a thing.
is not really the bitrate, the problem is in mixer_paths.xml (from vendor\etc) the gains are too high and camcorder uses headset noise canceling that is too aggressive. With root it can be fixed, but they don't allow bootloader unlock...
Issue exist on realme gt 2 pro latest brand new phone. Android 13 update also didnt solve the issue. Its really disappointing
