[Q] 32GB SD Card limit

Hello All,
According to the Verizon tech specs on the Incredible there is a limit of 32GB for the SD card.
Expansion Slot microSD™ memory card (SD 2.0 compatible)
Up to 32 GB card support. No pre-installed card.
Can this be increased to above 32GB?
What’s the "best or fastest" SD card that can be recommended and is not over priced?
Thanks
The micro SDHC spec caps out at 32GB, therefore you're never going to see a card offered with the micro SDHC name that is larger.
The "new" spec is SDXC. AFAIK micro SDXC has not been announced, but it would most likely be the same formfactor as micro SDHC, and theoretically supports up to 2TB. Of course, it will take awhile for the technology to catch up with the specs.
Thanks for the info. Looks like I then am going to get a 32gb card and will be looking foward to the 2TB.

2TB?!
who the hell needs that much memory for their phone?
and can you imagine how much they are going to cost? jesus
Well currently i have a 1TB Movies HDD in my PC with ~800GB of movies in it... with a 2TB i can have all that 2x
Is there something like "too much memory"? Not in my book...

The first hard drive I ever bought cost almost a grand... for 10 mb. We never thought we'd need more.
My concern would be transfer rate. even a class 10 being a 10MB transfer rate doesn't sound too appealing for moving gigs of data at a time...you'd be sitting there for a day waiting for all the data to transfer....

Recommend a SD card size

What size sd card should I get? Would 2gb be fine?
If you're gonna be installing a lot of software you should probably go with 4+. I believe 2 is sufficient if you have it on hand
Thanks

SD cards are so cheap now, I always buy them on newegg.com. 32GB for $20 just do it.

Yes I just got a sandisk 16GB Extreme Class 10 45MBPS for 17.00 prime free shipping
Also RPi has a micro SD card adapter, so I am using my old micro SD card from old phone. They are available at adafruit.com or ModMyPi.com. they are cheaper at adafruit.com

The minimum size SD card I would recommend is 8 GB, also check out this list of SD cards that are known to work well with the RPi and this list of SD cards to avoid and that are known to cause problems and not work.
I think 16Gb 10class SD card is best of speed*size/price.
I looking on sandisk extreme 8GB. But I've read that rpi with some kernels have boot problems with some really fast cards.

I you are pretending to really use the rPi as a "real computer" everyday, install softwares, development kits, etc I would recommend a 8GB or more SD card, they are not expensive(as a guy said, a 32GB card will cost less than 30 bucks in USA. This is difficult here in Brazil, today I bought a 8GB MicroSD card for 30 dollars). If you want to use the rPi for small things, Chrome OS or something like that I think that a 4GB card will be fine.
I Picked myself up a couple of these at the start of this year, Class 10's and on the known Good List and only 20GBP at the moment, which is a bargain. Now all I need a RaspPi to go with it

You can be happy getting the 512MB version then, so waiting isn't that bad.
OT: 4GB ist enough for almost everything, but then its recommended to mount /home onto an external drive for storing user data.

Storage issues: Sd Cards

Hey,
Can someone explain/clarify our phones storage to me.
It looks like we have 2 partitions on our phone...sortof ...
~8+GB of what it calls Phone storage, but is actually part of the phone storage.
And ~4GB of what it calls, Internal Storage...
BUT both are actually the phones storage?
This excludes any MicroSD card you may have put in the phone.
I have a SanDisk 64GB MicroSD Card... which so fare has been pretty useless on this phone...other than saving digital recordings...and photos (strangely the same photos are saved on the "Phone Storage" to although I have it marked for save to "Storage CArd")...
Can we move apps to our Micro Sd cards, like with the old WM phones?
Thanks for the clarification and help
BTW: I'm running the stock GB Rom
get the app apps2sd or link2sd
i dont think the vivid supports 64 gig micro sd card..i think the highest u can go is 32 gigs

Nope. Mine has had 64GB card for months (almost a year now, bought not long after purchasing the phone)...working fine, like a number of other people on here.
Saves pictures, attachments, music, etc.
Here's an old post on it, I know I started one way back when too so there are a few about it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1563079
Got a ScanDisk MicroSDHC...or HX something 64GB class 6 for ~30 at BestBuy...
I'll try the app given...can anyone answer the partition questions?
I know the operating system takes some 5GBs, but I don't have +6GB of apps so I can't figure out where my Rom is going.

[Q] what micro sd for a xperia T and can it use that memory for apps etc

Just order a xperia T from o2 ( really got a good deal) and I was wondering whats the bests card for it, also I've read that it can only use 2 gig on handset memory for app etc. Is that true and if so I assume it can use the sd charge memory when it runs out?
There are threads in this forum discussing the exactly same matter, please use search function first.
I have 32GB C10 micro SD and it works great. Many people said they got 64GB micro SD to work as well. If you didn't root, you can't save the entire app to SD card, but some apps allow to move app data to SD card.

Don't wanna break your bubble but the same sd card on amazon is 10 dollars but you have to pay for shipping so it comes up to 13-15 dollars

Already got this card and i recommend it to anyone, almost all apps r much better when moved to sd but i dont do this cus i hae enough space on internel due to lupus kenrel
and also if u want lots of good ram make a 1gb swap partition download a swap init.d scirpt and set it up to run and see things being kept in memory for like ages, i once was able to have mc4 + Mcpe + NFS Mw All running but i had to disable my performance ram management due to the lmk killing proccesses, but i highly recommend it and you wont regret it,
