Parts/assembly blowup for PDA2K/Qtek9090/O2 XDAIIs ????? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

The gap between slider and screen is getting worse with use. Someone , anyone have a parts or assembly blowup sheet on these units? The problem can't be addressed without knowing what's behind the assembly.
Cheers and Merry X-Mas!

My Diamond and the manufacture tolerance

Hi there,
I just want to ask a question. Hope somebody can help. I´ve got huge problems with my Diamond. I got it 4 weeks ago an tested a little bit. My Diamond has got a little gap between the Display and the Softkeys below the Display. I think it is about 0.5mm.
I´m not happy with this gap so I have sent my Diamond to the german repair and waranty service in Karlstein. My hope was, that they can dismount the display an rearange it, so that this little gap disapears. So far.
Yesterday I´ve got my Diamond back. Unrepaired. The waranty service says, that the gap is in between the tolerance of the manufacture.
I´m not happy with this, because you can see the backlight behind the softkeys in this gap. I´ve read in the wiki, that the display mounting tolerances are less than 0.3mm so my problem has to be outside the factory tolerance.
My question now. What can I do? What would you do? I´ve paid around 500 Euro for my Diamond. To much to have this gap between display and Softkeys.
Can anybody help?
Thanks and sorry for my bad english
Update ROM
Sorry sorry just a joke.
No I have no idea what you can do.
Most (if not all?) Diamonds seem to have this, and light is visible in between the screen an the top of the home key. I believe this is not so much due to the gap, but rather to what is below it in terms of components.
The best thing you can do is learn to live with it...

I don't have any gap between those parts and no lights visible either. I really don't believe you should accept it. Of course, there wil always be some small tolerances here and there but light coming out of gaps in the phone is ridiculous.
I would try again if i was in your shoes and make quite a fuzz in that shop.
watch out! i've heard that a large number of diamond owners disappeared in an another parallel universe after falling into the gap!
there, all ppl communicate only by iPhone that was the only way of communication and entertainment approved by the government.
0.5 mm!!
now serious (it is hard for me but not impossible): you can apply yr screen protector (hope you use protection) 0.5 mm lower and cover the gap.
the only thing that bother me with the gap (yes, i have it also but in the upper part) is that dust and dirt is piling and i have to clean it using a wood toothpick.
I have almost no gaps at all, I can only see a dim glow between the screen and lower touch/button panel when the buttons are illuminated, I can't see any light at all in there from the screen backlight. If your screen protector were placed over a gap it will collect dust and dirt on the exposed sticky edge which will soon become noticeable. I think you should make more of a fuss to whomever your supplier was.

You are so right KukurikU. I think I could live with this gap. But the thing with dust an dirt in this gap makes me angry. I can live with certain lacks. But due to the gap below the display it doesn´t fit perfectly into the outside cover. So I have another but smaller gap at the right side. I can make a Pullover out of the dust inside these gap in a few weeks.
I think I will give it a try and send it to Karlstein again. Will see what they say the second time. And in the manufature pdf is written, that a Diamond with gaps more than 0.3mm have to be corrected.

In germay you have only a chance in the first two weeks. Now it is week five. My fault.
But the company in Karlstein ( I don´t want to write the name) is the official waranty and repair company for HTC in germany. There is no other chance to get any warranty repairs. Angry thing. But I think I will write an article for a german magazine. I can´t understand why they say it is a tolerance. 0.1mm 0.2mm and perhaps 0.3mm are tolerances. But 0.5 mm not. That is written in the official documents. So why don´t they repair my Diamond?
How does one measure gaps in dimensions around .5mm?

Sounds good in theory- must admit I did try it in practice on a mate's Diamond with the gap- luckily I don't have the gap myself (hence my eternal immunity to the world of abducted Diamond owners reduced to using iCraps). Point is- I thought I would also lower the screen protector a bit on me mate's Diamond to cover the gap but then I feared it would cover the 3G camera and make all video calls look hideous...
PS. KukurikU: Had to remove one of your smilies (and the second one I wanted to use) because that crossed the limit of 4 for the post... I blame the iPhone for that limitation.

and that's the reason or friendship is over!! (please don't remove this one...)
I almost sent my Diamond back due to this, but after seeing some vids on You Tube decided it's obviously not unusual.
It's pretty annoying, but will I care in a few months? Probably not. There's always Orange insurance if it causes any problems!

Going completely off-topic here and just for the sake of friendship- I hereby give you your smiley back plus another one on top as a gift

[Q] Q: A piece of metal stuck between screen and body?

So I just got the IS before the weekend and Ive been setting it up and playing with it ever since.
Now, what I've noticed, is a small piece of silver metal stuck between the screen and the phone body. Its on the left side approx in the middle of the screen. I though it was a scratch, but I can clearly se the plastic sandwitched between the glass and the body bein bent. So,does anybody else have this? Is it part of the phone, some sensor or touch adapter/device? I dont really think so but just thought I'd check wi you guys.
Definitely a production fault.
Could you keep us posted on the repair, or replacement please?
I'm quite interested as I have a faulty touchscreen, and I'm wondering how long it will take for a repair.

[Q] Replacing a Xperia Z1 Cracked Digitizer

Hello everyone!
I bought a Xperia Z1 two weeks ago, and it was the best phone I have ever had.
However my idiot brother Managed to crack the Digitizer a few days back, the display is still working and the phone powers up but the touch panel is unresponsive.
(He was playing with one of those Heavy Snake Egg magnets, he threw the magnet into the air, and landed right on my phone. I'm surprised the Display is still working. )
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone here has replaced only the Touch Panel. I know on the Xperia Z1 its fused with the LCD, however with a machine like the Scotle PR-1000 its possible to separate the LCD from the touch panel.
Here is the link to a video showing the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8bZi3FreMk
Now I have a few questions such as:
-With this method, wont the LCD display be scratched up as well?
-When I replace the touch screen with a new touch panel using this method, will it look normal? Or will it look like it has been opened and repaired?
-With a new digitizer, is the phone still waterproof capable? (I dont really care about the waterproof capabilities that much anyways.)
Thanks!
Can anyone help me?
You could just replace the entire display module, digitizer, LCD, and all. This would be the cleaner and easier way of replacing it with fewer potential problems. As far as waterproofing goes, I am not sure. Those are sort of uncharted waters (no pun intended) as far as repairs go. If I were you, I would assume not just to be on the safe side, until further knowledge presented itself. I hope this info helps!
FOr the past few days thats what I was thinking.
Especially since where I live most Cellphone "technicians" are just people with a very limited knowledge of electronics, and would most probably mess up the phone even further.
after placing a few calls to some shops I managed to find a replacement LCD+Digitizer+Frame, but I do not know how good the quality of the replacement unit would be.
Dear WEM97 and other users,
I have the same problem as Akash434. Could you please briefly elaborate on what the (potential) problem could be with just replacing the Digitizer. I can't really decide what to replace the LCD+Digitizer or only Digitizer. I understand replacing the whole LCD unit along is a far, far easier process. But cost wise it's also almost the double (atleast where i live).
Upon removing the Digitizer, should the old glue be removed (if any). What kind of glue should I use to stick the new Digitizer? Will u see that there was glue used? These are just a few questions I am struggling with.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
PS: I apologize for any grammar mistakes. English is not my native language.
you can't do this without a professional machine

This is my video and the description will send you to the links to fix it yourself
Otherwise get a shop to fix it... although most regular shops won't fix it... or get sony to fix it if you wanna continue your warranty
Place the phone on a heatable-3dprinter-bed and warme it up the temperature you want - digitizer was falling of the display last time i repaired my z1. I heated it up to disassemble. Now it is cracked again and i just don´t know how to glue the digitizer on... If i would change digitizer

LCD Separator Issues

Hi All,
I've been doing repairs for a little while. But every time I've done a screen repair I've replaced the whole assembly. However recently I decided to buy an LCD separator to hopefully cut my costs. However every attempt I've made so far hasn't gone well. I keep slicing the wire between the first layer and the rest of the lcd, rather than between the glass and the lcd.
I was wondering if you guys had any advice you could share, am I better off starting away from the display cables and working towards them or the other direction? Or is it an issue with the temperature, I've been working at about 85°C is this too hot or too cold?
Any help or other advice would be greatly appreciated.
All the best

Display replacement - with or without frame?

Hi, I got a small but deep scratch on my display, I think I got it from my beach holidays.
Before it'll brake completely, I wanted to order a new display on AliExpress.
There are several display, some cheaper, some not so cheap.
And some are declared as "original" but I don't think it's originally Huawei.
Anyway, most displays can be ordered in two versions, with and without frame.
The frame is the mounting area for all hardware parts.
Now I have a question to guys who already did a replacement or know the differences:
Is there any serious negative point when I order a display with frame?
In videos it looks much easier to replace the screen with frame but I don't know if there are any negatives, for example a not working finger print sensor (I know this from iPhones, because the sensor is married with the logic board).
As electrician I'm able to replace it but I'm not sure about the differences between the both display options.
Greetings,
Jannomag
it interest me as well
from my experience, as i bought for me, i had a nice surprise, for a OP5T, the glue was poor, and after just one month my display was flying, now i order just the display and use 3M, idk how indians are use the glue, because i can't never stick with that right
