M2000- PLEASE HELP!!! - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

I have just received an M2000 and I have the following problems:
Bluetooth doesnt work at all (I tried using the "Final BT Patch from i-mate" and it didnt do anything).
Cant seem to find a version of the extended rom for this phone.
Its still unlocked.
It only has radio version 1.04.00
Can anyone help. This is so frustrating!

I also have the same phone and nearly exactly the same problems- especially the bluetooth. Are there any solutions yet?

If you haven't had it for more than 14 working days, (or 7 days if its an upgrade), ring Orange up and send it back for a replacement, you will get another brand new phone with another 14 working days (or 7 day) trial with it.
I've had 3, first one had a loose keyboard, 2nd one the phone part wouldn't work at all, the one i have now is truly magnificent don't give up on such a fine piece of telecommunications equipment.

Help !~ My O2IIs Bluetooth ...........

Help !~
My O2IIs Bluetooth when I turn on it and go to susupend(standby mode?!) around 5 min ,then I resume the OsIIs again but the bluetooth will be turn off and on .....that have a big problems when I"m using the handset and have incoming call ! The OsIIs is going to resume ..... then the handset will be disconnect (because the BT was turn off automatically)~~But any problem when I do it in 5 min !! ......and I'm sure is not my handset connection problem!!
How can I Sovle it??
Thx ~~
First thing I'd do is ugrade to the latest ROM - you are still using the older one. If you still have problems after that it may be worth going from BT3500 to 3900.
If you don't know how to do either of the above have a little search around the forum. The new ROM is on the O2 site and there are numerous postings about the 3500 to 3900 upgrade all over this forum.

Don't bother. I have 3900 on my IIs and it still does the same thing.
Thanks for rakh1 and kevinnugent reply~~
In fact ,I tried to downlaod and upgrade the newest ROM form the O2 website ! but my O2IIs is not buy in UK ! so....
In the mean time ,I"m also "cooked" (crack?!.. I don't understand what difference on "cooked" and "crack",haha~) the ROM by the "XDA3nbtool",but have the error message on installation ,that show "Radio image file checksum Error ",when I replace the original radio image, that will show the other image file checksum error.....
And I contact the O2 Custom Center in HK ,but they ask me to contact the Singapore customer service ,and said "they just have a repair service only!they haven't technical support ! "
OMG!! haha...a sick joke !!
Finally, the Singapore Custom Center still haven't the solution about this problem !... they just send the "bluetooth BT3500 update patch " for me to try (haha!!...) it can solve this problem or not !!
I have the same problem about BT disconnection
I posted an item about the same problem two days ago...
And the "official" technical support did the same to me: send me the 3500 BT Stack (and I found it in the web and installed two weeks before. Great technical support!).
In fact it's frustrating: I need a car kit that works well for my job, but impossible with Qtek. So, if I want to have a hands free car kit...I must buy another phone?.
Incredible for an expensive machine like Qtek 9090.
I have'nt tryed for the sort of multiple patchs of 3900, but I have no faith in it.
I you find a solution, please let me know.
Good luck!.

Hey ~I have the solution now?!~and I tried it a whole day~any problem!
Firstly You must stop the "Auto Power Off" Function on the O2IIs,then go to:
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=14621
to download the "screenlock" (software) and install it ,after the installation ,you will not have the icon on the “Program file “ (haha…may be the software bug),than go to “file exploroe” ->”My Device”->”Program files”->”screenLock”->”screenlock.exe”,When you run it the first time it will be create the icon on “program file”,If you want to leave it, press the button 1 and 4 (Calendar and Message button on the IIs) simultaneously! Now !the Bluetooth will be connected every time ~
but I still hoped the O2IIs announce the newest rom update for the Asia user soon……..
By the way, when updated the BT3500 ,the “auto resume” problem will be solve or not ??because I’m updated to BT 3900 still no change…..
Thx
Cangratulations Alextly!
ScreenLock works fine, and although this is like killing flyes with a bazooka, it's the only solution that I know about it, and this convert this solution in the better one.
The only question I've got now it's about power consumption. This program Locks (turns down) the screen but, if I understood well, with the screen locked the CPU is sitill gorking "underground", so the battery life can be reduced (I must do some proves).
As far as I know, the BT3500 doesn't solve the problem (I installed and it's the same). I ignore if the 3900 it does, but I'm afraid that it will not. I have not installed because the 3900 I've fount it's some sort of different patches that and they doesn't seem to be very reliable. So I prefer to wait for official Patche. And as says "kevinnugent" seems not to work.
Let's keep the faith for official technical service (my faith it's going down for minutes).
Thanks for you're finding and congratulations. I would never find this one.

ScrrenLock
ScreenLock it's not as fantastic as I though: it shuts down the PDA automatically when you are in no-battery mode (for exemple when you're using TOMTOM), and increase battery consumption dramatically.

Interesting... I don't seem to have the same symptoms with my SX66 paired with my SE HBH-300 and HCB-30 (car kit). When the SX66 goes into standby, the BT seems to stay connected. If it does disconect with either handsfree, I just press the call pick-up on the handsfree and it re-establishes the BT connection within 2-3 seconds.
I'm using 3900.
Ken
SX66
In fact I think the connection must not be disconnected. And with my Qtek if you have good luck and re-establish the in some way, maybe you will hear nothing...
My car kit it's Drive Blue from Parrot.

2i and BT problems

Ok, I have now run out of ideas so am looking for some advice/help. I had TT3 and a Jabra BT250 working quite happily together. Then I had to reload the TT3, now it will not pair with Jabra headset (it see's it, but will not pair), I have ugraded to the lattest rom, and have even tried a new XDA2i (sent other one back as faulty!!), still same fault. Has anyone else had this problem or have I just got a corrupt copy of TT3??
Just received this email - so new ROM has problems!!!!
Thank you for your email,
As regards our contact number, this 0906 number is no longer in use, and we are awaiting this to be removed from the website, apologies for this.
As regards your headset and the new ROM, we are currently aware that the new ROM has some Bluetooth issues, whereby some headsets were working on the previous ROM but not working very well with the new ROM of 1.11.169. We are currently working on getting this ROM upgrade removed and replaced by the 1.11.162 ROM which works fine. We apologise for the delay this is taking, and as regards changing your device to the lower ROM, until we get our website updated, you should be able to find this earlier ROM on websites such as XDA-Developer Forum or the like.
Finally, yesterday we had some major email problems, whereby some emails were not going through to the company, this has now been rectified as of this morning, hence you did not get an immediate response, this matter was outside of our control. We do try to respond to emails within our usual 24 hour SLA.

Paul

O2 V1.11.171 Now Available

Just checked the o2 site and it seems this upgrade is now available, not tried it yet but will tonight
hi, which site are you downloading from?
www.my-xda.com
Any news on whether it is worth upgrading to the .171 ROM? Seems as though the radio is back to 1.00?

We are waiting for more info about the new rom!
Might be an anomoly but I tried the 171 ROM modified and my device has hard reset twice, with the original ROM the phone stopped working and needed a hard reset to sort it out, twice.
Think I'll keep to my 162 ROM. How's everyone else found it?
http://www.my-xda.com/xda2i_soft3.html
here's the direct link for 1.11.171 - just downloading and will let you know how I get on after discovering that 1.11.170 (blackberry)didn't work with radio version as supplied.
Hi!
When I have install it. It apeared the radio 1.100
So still old radio, not v1.104

that is correct. Radio 1.104 is not compatible with the Blackberry system. This is the main reason that ROM 1.11.170 was removed from the o2 website as it had upgraded the Radio version from 1.100 to 1.104.
Hi! I've just bought an O2XDAIIi. I just wonder which ROM version I should use to upgrade my XDA. Could anyone give me an advice?

I'm using Blackberry and have upgraded to the latest o2 ROM - 1.11.171. If you aren't using Blackberry, try using Pugs cooked version of 1.11.169.
Is there any change to Blackberry functionality on 71 over 69?
Won't be changing if there isn't.
I belive that if your using the o2email open and not the BES version you won;t lose your Calendar options.
We use BES so no need to change then - thanks
Well ROM version 1.11.171 seems to be as stable as 1.11.169 and I don't have to use the workaround to sync Outlook Calendar.
I wonder if o2 are going to release more XDA phones that can use Blackberry - I quiet fancy the o2 Atom but it doesn't list BB which is a shame.
171 ROM is the BT reliability resolved
Symbasean,
Stating that the 171 ROM is as stable as the 169 ROM is a little bit of a two edged sword for me.
When I applied the O2 ROM last October / November it trashed my bluetooth functionality, effectively making my Jabra 250V a large black ear ring and the XDA 11i an electronic chocolate tea pot, for use in a car.
Can you sense my frustration with O2, who offered me £10 off my next bill as compensation and then didn't give it to me.
I switched to one of PUG's home cooked ROMs and this has been 80% successful, but randomly fails to deliver the sound.
His version has been a saviour, but would the 171 be an improvement for the BT stability and reliability?
Sorry for the incredibly rambling first post. :?:
I upgraded to the new software last night and have noticed one small annoyance. I used to be able to to deactivate GPRS by clicking the connectivity icon in the title bar and tapping disconnect. Now the disconnect option isn't there for GPRS. Eventually I discovered that I could turn off GPRS by holding the end call button.

two points:-
1. please spell my name correctly.
2. "Well ROM version 1.11.171 seems" - note also the word, "Seems". I make no direct comparison on stablity, only that mine has not crashed - caveat empore......
Apologies
Symbaseian
Sorry for the mistake.
I shall try the ROM and see.
I have to agree caveat emptor is an appropriate warning with this particular device.
If it worked as well as it is should, straoight out of the box, it would be excellent.
But it does have some way to go, and without the likes of these forums, it would not happen.

I totally agree. When I first got one of these I couldn't use TT3 let alone TT5 without it locking up all the time if I used anything other than my old 128mb Compaq SD card, but having listened and learned on this forum and also on pocketgpsworld I now have a stable XDAIIi with blackberry.
It's taken a long time to get to where I'm fully happy with the device (except camera performance - but I very rarely use that anyway) often involving Tomtom tech support, o2 tech support and these forums. If you feel happy using Pugs ROM version without blackberry please go ahead, but for me that's not an option.
It's just a shame that we have had to co-develope to get a product that is finally starting to show everything that it first promised.....

LG Style-i : constant reconnects ?

I've received a used LG Style-i in hopes of having a decent bluetooth headset with good sound quality.
I've run into an issue that others have mentioned in different posts....
The Style-i loses it's connection and reconnects very frequently. And every time it reconnects it pulls up the voice dialer on the phone.
I have an HTC Advantage x7501 (WM6).
Has anybody found a solution to this?

I did not have the reconnect/connect issue (unless I walked out of range and then returned), but yes the voice dialer activation was a pain in the ass.
I removed the ssdamon from startup and hacked the registry to it was disabled and then installed ms voice command and problem solved. But everytime I hard reset, the problem returned...
the best solution is to install a rom without the cyberon crap voice dialer...see the black rom..it does not come with a voice dialer.
No constant reconnects here - occasionally loses the connection but its the same with eth Athena and all headsets I have tried so far....
I put up with the occasional 'SAY COMMAND...' and 'GOODBYE...' in that innocuous accent as i think the Cyberon dialler is more flexible than the MS one....
I don't get any reconnection issues, but my problem with it is that after upgrading to the new WM6 I can't seem to get Speed Dial to work from the handset any more except (weirdly) for speed dial #1, voicemail, which still works fine.
Does/did anyone else have this issue, and if so how did you solve it? Thanks in advance!

I'm having the same problem. I wonder if they are defective?

I have bought two silver (Verizon Branded) and two Black (LG Branded), all from e-Bay. I use one daily with Athena, two are used by my sons, one with an HTC Universal one with a Wizard. Fourth was sold to a friend of my son's for use with the TM Wing. All are using WM6, the Athena and the Uni use Jetware Mobile BT extension 1.31. The others did not need it. Athena uses Cyberon VC, while the Uni and the Wing use MS VC 1.6. Other than the 'say command' on first connect, there are no issues with dropping connections or other annoyances. You can see in my signature which ROM's are in use. (the WING is running PDAVIET's modified Touch ROM)
yes, ebay

I'm afraid I got mine on ebay too. I'm hoping I can fiddle around with some settings and solve the problem. It does make me wonder, though since some folks aren't having any problems. my advantage has the latest rom on it, too.
I haven't been able to find anything on the web about warranty work on the style-i. When I do a search on the lg site, it says it can't find any matching products??? I've searched under "style-i" and " "hbm-700" Any thoughts on this? Mine is supposedly new, and I thought I'd try to get a replacement under the warranty.
I'm going to try and pair it with my wife's cheapo LG CU400 cell phone and see if it has the same problems. Maybe then I'll know if it's the device or some conflict with the HTC software.
Not on LG Web Site
When I researched the LG Style-I, it seems that is is an orphan product. It was a very clever notion, conceived when cell phones were a bit bigger and there were no sleek and slender phones like the RAZR. By the time LG designed, tested, built and launched it, small phones totally passed it by.
Most folks look at it and say, "Why do I need it?" Well, with so many small phones out there to choose from, they don't need it, so Verizon and LG dumped the product on to the close-out market and cut their losses after one large production run (I am guessing). We who have bricks for phones PDA's), need to get them now if we want them, 'cause once they're gone, it's back to the earpieces. If your e-bay source was a cellphone shop, you may get a replacement/exchange. If not, you probably won't find a warranty anywhere, certainly not Verizon on the Silvers and not from LG on the Black ones.
I don't want to mention the eBay shop until I receive and test the Style-I.
As soon as I received and tested I will let you know the results and the name of the shop.
hello!
Same problem here. tried both black and silver.
deiota
common defect?
I tried the style-i with my wife's cheapo phone and it did the same thing. It must be some kind of design flaw that's present a specific run of the chips. too bad, because it seems to be a great idea for the advantage. however, I'm reluctant to chance buying another, knowing it might be bad again.
Mine worked perfectly with WM5 before I upgraded, I can't imagine it failed at exactly the same time I moved to WM6. I'm just not clever enough to know how to work out *why* it stopped being able to speed-dial (save for the VoiceMail speed-dial, which still works) - but presumably it's the new OS, not the Style-i.
Hi,
I have a t-mobile ameo with the HTC official wm6 rom and have no problems
with connection or voice commands....once connected and paired
I just say the contact name and it dials no probs
my problem is that when i pair the style-i with x7500, it auto starts the cyberon voice dial....
after paired, i have no problems at all...
best regards
deiota
I can connect and pair OK, and I still get to use the Style-i to take incoming calls, it's just making calls with keypad Speed Dial (not Voice Dialling) since upgrading to WM6 (as I said, except to voicemail) which has stopped.
Heh! So I upgrade to the PK Black Touch ROM and suddenly my Style-i works *perfectly* again - guess it was some basic incompatibility with the HTC WM6 BT implementation.
Anyway, I'm happy again (nice ROM too)!
Style-i with X7501 Running PK 3.0...
This combination seems to be working A-OK together. I just got my LG Style-i from ebay seller "cmgwireless". It is Verizon branded and came with everything except a retail package (including lanyard, earbud, wall charger, and documentation). I would recommend anyone looking for a Style-i buy from him.

V1615 Problems

I received my V1615 the other day and was initially chuffed to bits, the phone looks great, most of the functions you could ever need but my delight was sort lived.
I have loads of issues with the device and have called Vodafone to ask if they had any ROM updates, the man on the end of the phone tells me that the phone comes with WM5 and that no updates were available for the unit!! I said it cam with WM6 and he told me mine must have slipped through somehow.
The problems I have are mainly
Unusable camera
Phone Lockup
Wifi Poor and will not work with any Netgear wifi points
Can not turn on TouchFlo (can’t find how!)
Are these common issues with the Kaiser or should I be looking to get the unit replaced? I don’t mind holding on for a updated ROM
My current Rom version is 1.56.161.4
Any suggestions would be great
Hi,
i have had the V1615 since launch day and have none of the problems you mention.
WIFI connects to just about every make of WIFI i come across, i am computer engineer so use it on may types, so far DLINK, Belkin, Netgear, Zyxel and a few cheapo non name brand ones, with and without security and all work fine.
Camera works brilliant on mine, takes good pictures and unlike my old Vodafone 1605 does it in just about any condition, video is good as well.
Phone had never locked on me, had one problem after doing a Tom Tom install but they was fixed by a reload.
When you say touchflow assume you mean on the contacts and Ie scrolling around page ?.
Sounds like a duff one, have you tried a hard reset and reload ?
I have a 1 week old v1615 and it works fine. recommend you send it back to vodafone and ask for a replacement
mine is also running well...
I've had mine for about 2 weeks and I'm absolutely delighted with it. For a change, I think Vodafone have been thoughtful with the software they bundled onto it (Sprite Backup and TomTom 6 being just two).
Same here. HAd mine for a week or so and it's doing great. And it seems that guy you talked to doesnt know anything. The phone shouldnt come with WM5 but with WM6 as everyone elses.
