How to have Bluetooth Dial Up Networking Profile? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Blue Angles & Magician got a crippled Bluetooth profile.
There's no Dial Up Networking client Profile, so i can't use any Bluetooth cellphones as dial-up modem.
Is there any Bluetooth patch to enable DUN Profile so i can use my CDMA/3G cellphone as bluetooth dial-up modem?
I wondered why HTC crippled the DUN profile on Blue Angles & Magician (Himalaya has it), because GPRS connection is a joke compared with 3G.

i need the same for a XDA2i as i wish to use my nokia 6630 as a 3g modem or the XDA2i
anyone know how we can add DUN to our bluetooth
Thanks
John

to work?¿?

Half solution, but no goal
Hi,
I have add a new key in the registy off my PDA2K:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\Connection Wizard\AddIns\Partner with a cellphone
and inside:
REG_SZ "Description" value "btrez.dll,29030"
REG_SZ "Dll" value "btwizardprofile.dll,3"
REG_SZ "Icon" value "btrez.dll,29087"
REG_DWORD "Order" value 100
REG_SZ "Title" value "btrez.dll,29029"
Soft reset ...
Now, when open the "new connection" in BT manager, I can see the new profile, run it, find my Nokia 6630, pairing .... but wizard end witch an error because ... I have something else to do but :?:
Sorry for my poor english

Bluetooth Manager -> New -> Explore a Blurtooth device -> then select your mobile phone -> then you see a profiles, supported by your mobile phone -> select all or only "Dial-up networking" -> finish.
After this in BLuetooth My shortcuts you can see icon like "<your mobile phone name>: Dial-up networking". Double click on it, and then you can see a list of connection - press "New connection..." select modem "Bluetooth Dialup Modem" and then fill all other fields, as needed for GSM network on your mobile phone. After you done with making new connection, you must click on it (in list of bluetooth connections).

Only BTWizardProfiles.dll !!
I uploaded BTWizardProfiles.dll here again. (ZIPED)

Guys! Good news for you!
i made cab file of the Bluetooth Patch Ver,3900 with Blue Tooth Dial up network client service for Blue Angel(Maybe on Alpine also works, but no tested)
Just tap it on Blue Angel to install it and make soft reset ,you can patch to BT3900 and get Dial network client services with one action!
You can download it from
http://www.asukal.jp/BT3900DUN.CAB
But i am not sure BT3900 Patch is better than default one.
PLS do it with your own risk!
Enjoy it!

why I am not able to connect myself to vodafone with this patch, and the others, how you make it
thank you

BT3500+DUN client
ive found BT3900+DUN Clien was some small troouble last night,
The device will have been awaken alternative automaticaly, even i never touched at all.
So i am wonder which patch is better for Blue Angel so i made New cab with BT3500 and DUN client service.
Following is the DL link

Widcomm Bluetooth 3900

Guys,
Anyone has solution to put widcomm into BA's WM 5.0?
Really really wan it man!!! no Widcomm my stereo headset is wasted...
This is really the most fundamental problem....sigh...

At this moment, only MS BT stack works under WM5 so far.

Tested and working Profiles..
DUN (Dialup Networking)
Serial
FTP
A2DP (High Quality Audio)
File Transfer
Business Card Exchange ( OBEX )
Network Access (PAN)
Ok,
Here's the first rough. These instructions worked from a hard reset for me.
Using registry Editor
Go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Transports\Builtin\3 and rename the value "name" to "aname"
That will disble the MS bluetooth stack, but, still allow it to intialize the radio.
--Soft Reset.
Download BT3900.CAB fromhttp://www.myehud.com/xv6600/bluetooth/, copy it to the phone and install it.
In reg editor go to HKLM\Software\Widcom\BTConfig\General
Change TransportLibrary to "BtCeBCSPTrans.dll"
Change RadioInitLibrary to ""
Change RadioInitPostLoadScript to ""
Change RadioWLanCoexEnable to ""
Change RadioWLanCoexDisableScript to ""
In reg editor go to HKLM\Drivers\Builtin\Serial
Change driver to anemo_serial.dll
In reg editor go to HKLM\Software\Widcom\BTConfig\SerialTransport
Change Parity to 2
Change Port to 5
In reg editor go to HKLM\Software\Widcom\BTConfig\Services\0001
Change ComPortNumber to 2
In reg editor go to HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\Serial5
Change DeviceArrayIndex to 2
Change Index to 2
Create a shortcut in Windows\Startup pointing to \windows\BTTrayCE.exe
--Soft Reset
You can now turn the radio on from the icon on the today screen (lower right).
If desired you can also install the A2DP patch from http://www.myehud.com/xv6600/bluetooth/
If you get license expired after a few seconds (you should). You'll need to copy over the
BTTrayCe.exe from the working dir of the bt-ppc.1.5.0.0801.rar you can find here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...xpired&start=50
Notes
If the radio turns on but you cant detect devices check your mac address
You can check you Macaddress by going to HKLM\Microsoft\Blueooth\i730 and looking at the key MACADDRESS.
If you go to settings\accessibility in the widcomm bt stack with the radio on the addresses should match.
If they dont match you'll need to turn your radio off, soft-reset then turn it back on.
You should be able to switch between the 2 stacks by changing the aname back to name under transports"
Looking through the thread it appears to have worked for some people. I tried it myself but was getting an error. I also couldnt find the driver he mentioned "anemo_serial.dll". I would think as the BA radio works with the 3900 stack already it may be possible to get it working under WM5. Anyone with any ideas?

Setting up a bluetooth profile

Guys
I am having real problems getting my GPS to talk to my XDA11i . the two devices appear to talk to each other ( flash furiously) but tom tom doesnt recognise it.
Bluetooth manager confirms there is an active connection.
I believe that the BT profile is not set up correctly.
I can go to BT settings and make a new profile , selecting serial transfer etc and then give the profile a name , BUT , each time I select the profile whilst the access permissions are still as set , when I open the services tab no services are selected ! despite selecting it when the profile was set up ?
Any thoughts here ?
Astro1
Go to BT parameter -> services -> serial port -> options
Write down IN/OUT port number, report the OUT port number to you GPS software.
If pb still exists, try to use "Franson GpsGate" or NMEA as connection within gps software.
Tried that !
Hi NewbiePDA
Been there and tried that , the outgoing port is port 6 and in tom tom 's configuration choices the choice of port 6 is the only oje that seems to get any where ( activity from the LED on the GPS unit ) all other port choices given turn off the GPS.
Ive got a copy of franson gpsgate but got nowhere with it ,
It has to be a simple configuration problem !
I have set up a spp profile in BT settings ( and called it tom tom ) I have ticked the serial connection and then Enable service box then closed down ( hit ok). Upon re opening the profile serial port choice is no longer chosen ? any ideas ?
Best Regards
Astro1
Hi Astro1,
I think that creating spp profile is unnecessary, my procedure is as below:
1) Pair you devices
BT -> BT manager -> tools -> pair device -> add
browse you BT devices then you should see you gps icon appear, click on it, then type you password to pair, usually is 0000
2) back to BT manager, choose "new", choose discover a BT device, again, you should see you gps device, click on it, normally you get spp service, just follow the step by clicking "next"...
If you can't see any services available then turn off you BT gps device, turn off you Xda2i BT, soft reset, then turn on gps, back to step 2)
3) If pb remains, probably it's due to tomtom's bt stack, try rename BtCoreIf.dll BtSdkCE30.dll (in \windows folder) to others name, or delete them.
Hope that helps.
re name or delete
Hi Newbe
I am trying to delete or rename the two files you note , I have seen this on other sites as well .
Like you XDA11i says that the files are in use and read only / archive /hidden or in use etc.
It will not let me touch them !
Any ideas of a file manager or software that will let me work on them ??

download and install gpsdash2 and in the connection settings click on auto config, it will find you gps receaver ad set itself up, this will also give you the correct bt settings, it will show you if everything is working okay. and some cool features.
i had to do this with my jentro bt unit
Hi Skeevee
Ive tried that one too .
GPS gate checks trhe ports and the blue led on the Bluetooth GPS unit flashes furiously ( as if they are talking ) , but GPS gate reports unable to find GPS ???
This is loosing me , it seems to me that the two devices are talking but that there is a comms / set up problem .
TT6 tries to talk to the GPS as well but gets no where ?

Trying to get Vodaphone Live to work on HTC branded TytnII

Hi guys - need some help.
Been following the guide on how to get Vodaphone Live to work on the HTC branded TytnII.
Done the registry editor changes to it now appears to be an Nokia N95... but every time I try to copy the Browsers.dll file across to the windows directory I get a write permissions error.
Any ideas?

Tony
Try using Resco Explorer or Total Commander to copy "browser.dll" to \Windows...
I think the built-in file explorer will give you an error, but those two should allow you to copy it over.

Hiya this is the guide I used:
http://www.modaco.com/Vodafone-Live-Settings-t259142.html
I tried the settings in the thread Wise1 gave but it didn't work. Has anyone got vodafone live to work on the TyTnII?
Use the cab in here...
It uses the same browser.dll and reg settings as mentioned in the guide, but only takes two seconds (and a soft reset).
Oh, and always remember that you have to connect to the internet via the *WAP* settings before you can get on to Vodafone Live! - you'll get an error if you're connected via the "Internet" settings.
Enjoy!
It Worked!!!!
Thanks Sub69 it worked. I had spent hours trying to get Mobile TV.
Just thought I'd add one note though for those people that download the cab and then expend the Internet browser to work.
Once you have installed the cab go to START, Settings, Connections, then click on Connections icon. Click on Advanced and Select Networks. On programs that automatically connect to the Internet, select Contract WAP from the dropdown menu.
Next goto Internet Exployer and type http://live.vodafone.net. It should then work.
p.s. turn off WiFi as this will stop internet streaming on vodafone live
Thank you for this...
This worked perfectly for me, although I had to enter wsp://live.vodafone.com before it loaded the vodafone live! homepage (http:// at the start didn't work).
Amazing isn't it how Vodafone happily sell Windows Mobile devices but don't support them with Vodafone live and Pocket IE!
Personally, I use: http://live.vodafone.co.uk but as long as it all works, that's the main thing!
And yes, you must be connected via the *WAP* settings otherwise you get a "service is not responding at this time" error.
Bit of a pain that - I've tried all sorts of fiddling with the exception list etc. and I just can't get it to switch connection settings automatically when navigating to the Vodafone pages.
app to devellop...
If a dev guys could write a little apps with two big button to switch to :
* Vodafone Live wap
* Defaut internet
it's would be nice if you can setup within the applic 2 network config something like:
Button1(I):
Internet connect with : ....
Work connect wit : ....
Button 2(WAP):
Internet connect with : ....
Work connect wit : ....
and an option to start PIE to another web page ... with button 2...
Still not working...even with the .cab
Thanks guys...I'm another HTC TYTN ii user and I got all excited reading this thinking I'd finally found the fix (I hate Vodafone for selling me the Vodafonelive/MobileTV package and then not supporting me!!). I've loaded the .cab and followed the instructions for the reset. I'm also using WAP to now try and access the vodafone live sites...but no joy!!! :-( The following errors occur on each respective 'potential' Vodafone live page.
http://live.vodafone.co.uk - Gives me the error message: Bad Gateway - The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. Additionally, a 502 Bad gateway error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
http://live.vodafone.com - This must timeout in some other way because I get an IE initiated message saying The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. Check the connection and try again later.
http://live.vodafone.net again an IE initiated message saying The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again.
wsp://live.vodafone.net again an IE initiated message saying The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again.
wsp://live.vodafone.com This must timeout in some other way because I get an IE initiated message saying The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. check the connection and try again later.
wsp://live.vodafone.co.uk
Can someone please advise if I need to do anything else...or can you think of anything else that I can try???
By the way...I do at least get the EXCEPTIONS working out in Connections...By inputting the above sites into EXCEPTIONS, they do connect over WAP rather than IS(3G).
Pleeeeeease help! Cheers.
The cause is just your tricks to use exception...! Don't try to use it, even if it connect right...do a manual connect you will see the difference
I got those sorts of error messages when I was trying to work out how to use the exception list too. Very long "loading" times, followed by IE timeout errors.
Should work fine if you set your connections so that the "Programs that automatically connect to the Internet" are using the "Contract WAP" settings...
Same here?!

Same here?! Kaiser (Vario III) with Dutty´s Kaiser Final 2 (TouchFlo). Running fine.
What happened:
Try to establish internet connection. "wap.vodafone.de" (without Proxy)
- Vodafone Mail works fine (POP)
- IE (only http://www.vodafone.de) works fine
- Every other page (also wsp://live.vodafone.de) The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again.
Add Proxy 139.007.029.001 like it is written in some "Threads":
- Vodafone Mail --> did not work any longer. Sync error (Could not establish connection)
- No IE connection is possible.
Any idea?
Thanks. Bye.
Reversing the Vodafone cab file
Hi Sub69
I have been able to use Vodafone Live TV fine on my TyTn II for sometime but recently I wanted to look on a site that won't work as it said that my phone had been detected as a Symbian S60 unit and wanted me to download a .sis file which obviously won't work on the TyTn II. Have you got a cab file that does the reverse of the vodafone Live cab file and reverts the TyTn back to a WM6 device as far as some programs are concerned. I will then be able to toggle between the 2 as and when I need to.
Thanks

How to enable VoIP on the HTC S730

It is very simple. Download and install the WM6VoIP.CAB
Then proceed as follows (for configuration)
START
SETTINGS
PHONE

INTERNET CALLING
Changing the Homescreen to default makes VoIP directly accessible from the Homescreen.
Now here comes the bad news:
I have not been able create a working _setup.xml file as it is described in the following thread:

I want to use VoipBuster. Can anyone help?
do u have info if the cab can be used on hermes for example? TyTN
Yes should work. But I don't know about the _setup.xml configuration.
it's weird i don't know how to create the cab... cause it tutorials are saying that you need to put in "cabarc N WM6VoIP.CAB _setup.xml"
but then you'll get a .cab with 1 file the setup.xml :S
No that wasn't my problem. I was able to create the CAB (download carbarc)
But it just doesn't work. On my Homescreen it says: Voip Calling not available or something
cabarc N command overwrites the old .CAB and will be 1kb or something just with the setup.xml file?
can't find a sollution...

Thanks, just tried this on a S710. It worked. At first I got no Internet calling on the Home screen. Apparently you need the standard windows home screen. I also got the _setup.xml .cab working. Generated it, downloaded it and executed the CAB. see My setup.xml
Used the procedure of the VOIP/SIP thread
It's a bit of trying out: on/off, booting and on/off phone. But after a while it works. I used Voipbuster and tried a commercial SIP provider too. That was the same with the TyTN. Also the home screen says searching, but it is connected and you can call. Same as TyTN.
I have not tried the dial plan. So for voipbuster I have to dial 0031 70 123 4567. Also being called worked for my commercial provider. The 710 then has a local number.
Can you please send me your xml file configured for VoipBuster.
Thanks!!

dno if it's correct.... but it connects to Voipbuster, The only problem is that I cannot dial people :/ ..

What do you mean you cant dial people? So you can only call people saved to your contacts?

The default port number for the SIP service is 5060 or I need to put it in manually in the URI??
uhm If I dial a number I get an error...
Voipbuster is working but i dno what's wrong
it works fine with voipbuster. but the conversation comes through the external speaker. how can i avoid this?
when i had a call on the second (GSM) line, the voip call came through the internal speakers. as soon as the other (GSM) call on the second line was ended, the VOIP conversation came through the loudspeaker again...
how can i get the voip conversation to come through the internal speaker?
any help?
thanks
I've a strange problem. I've configured the SIP client correctly and I can place a call... but it lasts only few seconds (about 15-20). Then my WiFi disconnects. I've changed energy savings on WiFi setting it to stay always on and to use full power. I've tried to use another wireless access point too, but it always disconnects.
Someone has the same issue??
[EDIT]
I've found a solution searching about RTCP protocol settings on MSDN. If you use WM6 SIP client behind a router with an internet VoIP provider there are 2 registry keys to edit:
HKLM\System\VoIP\SIP\EnablePort5060 = 0x1 (DWORD)
HKLM\Comm\RTC\NAT\EnableEarlyUDPPackets = 0x1 (DWORD)
That last key allowed my SIP calls to last more than 15 seconds

Network Service unavailable
Hello. I have read through a lot of threads and posts and I have seen some other people with the same problem but unfortunately no answer. I have a HTC S730 with WM6 Standard and managed to setup VoIPBuster, following the procedure at the beginning of this thread. On the today screen everything looks okay: VoIPBuster = selected. When I try to make a call, the screens says VoIPBuster - connecting alright and then ends with three beeps and a message saying "Network service unavailable - try again later". Strange enough things work with Fring, so I suppose my router is not the problem. Any idea anyone?
Thanks in advance
I have been able to change the dial plan on my HP iPaq 514. This might work for HTC WM6 Std devices also. See my posting on the Voip/SIP thread

How do i get my data connection back..

Okay, i just flashed RomeoS 4.1 onto my AT&T tilt. How do I get my 3g data connection back? I can use my LAN WIFI to go on the interent, but not the 3g line. There has got to be something simple I am missing! help
Did you run "Connection Setup".
I don't have RomeoS ROM, but it should be here:
Start>Settings>
>Connections Tab
>Connection Setup
run that and it should set up the correct settings for your network.
The other thing you may need to do is:
in the same place as the "Connections Setup" there should be a "Connections" Icon.
>Connections
>Manage existing connections
>Proxy Settings
>make sure "this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet" option is UNCHECKED.
I hope that does the trick for you. It the only thing I can think of.
Run HTC Connection setup and DISABLE proxy
thanks for your suggestions, i will try this today!
still doesn't seem to work. I would assume that every single time anyone flashes a new rom, they have to setup their data connection again, right?
It'll work for sure, as suggested above, use Network Wizard or the HTC Connection tool, both do the same thing and the cabs area available on XDA-Dev.
And yes if you re-flash your ROM you'll need to set your Data Connection settings again as they are formatted when you ROM upgrade.
I had the same issue when i installed that rom, theres a cab called Cingular PDA Medianet mms and one called wpbear_AT&T_proxy there on this site if i wasent on my phone i would link you
wpbear_AT&T_proxy
Click to collapse
Don't like it... however pending on your flash history and what you installed you may have to check a reg entry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \HTC \CommManager \WLAN] = " \\ Windows \\ WLanMgr.exe " "DeviceName" = " {98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006} \\ TNETW12511 "
If it reads TNETW12511 you're OK
downloading those cabs worked like a charm! thank you very much!
