XDA III UHLOCKER EXDENDED ROM TOOL NEEDED - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Anybody knows where I can find xda III extended rom unlocker tool. Thank you

ftp://xda:[email protected]_1_22/Tools/xda-developers_Unlocker.CAB

How to tell the rom is unlocked?

If you can delete files from \Extended_ROM well then it's obiviusly unlocked, and if you can se the folder \Extended_ROM well then it's obviusly Unhidden

Thanks!!

I only see in the extended rom folder an unlockextrom exe and when I run this exe a small window appears debug and inside this it says Usage: unlockextrom[-lock/unlock][-hide/-unhide]. And after if I press ok nothing happens.
Is this the correct tool or Iam doing something wrong. Thanks again

I ve done softreset also

Put in on your Device, lets say \Storage\Temp
Open FileExplore on device

Go Start->Programs->ExtRom Tools->UnLock to be able to write to your ExtRom. Remember to lock it again when your finished!!!!!

I can delete files within the \Extended_ROM folder but can't delete the folder. Does this mean it is unlocked, but I can't delete the folder?

when i'm trying to unhide there's nothing happen after i soft reset i still can't see the Extended_ROM storage and when i'm trying to unlock (i'm using xda-developers_Unlocker.CAB) my device keep saying " ERROR: FL_IOCTL_BDTL_HW_PROTECTION - The parameter is incorrect." plese help me.....

try the cab i attached. if that does not work for you, you have one of those devices, that simply won't unlock. plus, looking at your signature, you seem to be using wm6. unlocking and resizing the extrom partition is ONLY possible in wm2003, before you try to access the extrom, you must downgrade first!

yes u can, but please be aware that by doing this, all your data in extended rom will be permanently erased. please download the file i attach with this msg and follow the instructions:
1. Copy Repart.exe to your device and launch it using file explorer on the pda.
2. Set size of Extended ROM to 128 kb
3. Press "Format now!" and wait until it is done (A few seconds). You will see a message that it is done.
Soft reset.
good luck.

Wow, great!
Now I have a Storage about 60Mb!
Thank you, imatrix!
Hi i tried it but i'm getting the following message
FL_IOCTL_FORMAT_PHYSICAL_DRIVR failed.
What should i do ?
THanks

hi. what could i be doing wrong?
i'm on tuma 1.3 already with only 43MB storage. is it possible to get 60MB while still in wm5?
i tried to unhide and then unlock. i'm successful in unhide, but i get an error message "FL_IOCTL_BDTL_HW_PROTECTION - The paramater is incorrect." during unlock.
so i also get a "FL_IOCTL_FORMAT_PHYSICAL_DRIVR failed" error message when i run repart.exe.
btw, i still don't understand how to go back to wm2003se, even after reading so many threads.
EDIT: i may be on the right track. i guess i need to be in wm2003se first to run the two applications, so i have to downgrade from tuma 1.3. i've downloaded the old rom, and extracted it. will go back to it later.

yes, i now understand i shouldn't use the ExtROM tools in wm2003.
haven't done the downgrade. what do i do now when i'm still in wm5? i still get the error message when i click on "unlock".
if u read up there is a file name xda-developers_Unlocker.CAB which u can download, follow instruction to unlock and unhide the ext_rom then u can re-partition your ext_rom
Cool, so you can reformat in WM5? I thought I had to downgrade... that is if I am reading these post correctly.
afer resizing, u should do a hard-reset to make sure everything running smooth.
i still couldn't use the xda-developers_Unlocker.CAB in wm5 because of the error message when i choose unlock (though unhide worked fine).
i had to downgrade to wm2003se (i completely understand how to do the downgrade now  ).
i'm now a happy camper with tuma 1.3, radio 1.15 and 60MB storage

FL_IOCTL_FORMAT_PHYSICAL_DRIVE failed.

Hi all, i've installed WM5 on my blue angel, but i was unable to resize the storage card to 60 mb (i would to make it), because everytime i try to launch on my device resize_doc.exe, i receive the following error:
FL_IOCTL_FORMAT_PHYSICAL_DRIVE failed.
this happens on both wm2003 (before upgrade) an WM5 (after upgrade).
How can i resize my storage card?
PS: after the installation a new drive named TEMP DISK has appeared? What is this?
Thanks
No one can help me?

Thanks, and yes i've tryed too to unlock and unhide the extended rom in wm2003, but the supplied tool has failed too, with some other error that i don't remember
Perform these steps in WM2003SE
1. unlock extrom
2. unhide extrom
3. resize extrom to 128k
you now have 60 mb storage (it is storage, not storage card)

Hiya
I was searching XDA-DEVELOPERS website about 2 days to find a solution for this problem, I have an I-mate PDA2K, i used all EXTROM tools on this website like this:
1- Installed EXTROM_tools,
2- run UNHIDE ,

6- run REPART_DOC.exe on my device,
7- tried many sizes like 128kb, 1024, 2048, 512, 61000, .................
but on this step i always get the god damned FL_IOCTL_FORMAT_PHYSICAL_DRIVE failed,
i finally used Task 28 under MTTY but nothing happened, still have this problem,
No Wayyyyyy ! No wayyyyyyyyyy to repart my DOC size, .... noooooooooooo wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

try this fix....
you should try to flash your extrom to another language of Extrom... or another carrier.
according to the bottom notes of THIS(Read this) post...
then try the procedure again in WM2003
PH20B O2___001 (O2XdaIIs)
Tried that ROM, as well as others to no avail. Installed WM6 anyway, let the internal battery drain, and random stuff disappeared. Owner info, start menu and today items, program settings, etc. I assume because it was stored in volatile memory. Please investigate!

you still have to unhide the ExtROM manually, and sadly, I haven't quite worked out certificate deployment, so you need to use Security Configuration Manager to drop the developer certificates onto your device.

yes, I've recently been indulging in the consumption of booze down the local pub, so sorry for the delay; it's done now.
Remember that you still need to provision the developer certificates onto your device yourself.
I'm afraid that the Security Configuration Manager still finds the app "Unsigned".
Any further help would be appreciated.

I'm afraid that i may be a bit on the slow side but i can't make heads or tails out of this process,i've read the Hermes posts and still nothing .
If you find the time please post a step by step guide as to how the app can be signed with a privileged certificate as that seems to be the problem.

no... it's not.
the application just needs to be executed on your device, the DLL that is placed on the device needs to be signed... which I have done.
specifically, it's OEM_FLASHDRV.dll that I signed, and no, you can't view it till it's on your Trinity.
Let me tell you what i did,i ran the Security Configuration Manager, changed the configuration from locked to Security Off then pressed Provision.unhid the EXROM using Hermes_MountALLExTrom,transfered the patch to the PPC and ran it .
I got the message Extrom Patched Resetting..,i reset the device but alas no extrom.

yeah... you need to go to the Device menu to install the developer certificates.
The only things in the "file" menu are, Save connected Device Configuration,Sign File and Check File Signature.
my mistake; the Device menu.
really... couldn't people have the intelligence to actually bother looking for it.
people on this forum have now successfully exceeded the level of stupidity I've experienced on the Hermes section.

ExtROM Registry Unlock + O² WM6 ExtROM Files

Device: HTC 4350 - Shipped with original WM6 ROM. O² XDA Terra
Use a registry editor to change the following values (or just download the ExtendedROM_HTC4350.reg.zip and run the .reg file from your device):

I tried to expose the "Extended_Rom"-Folder on my P4350 (de, eplus,WM5) the way you discribed but no luck. The values I modified with regedit are gone right after soft-reset.
Any hints on that?
Please pay attention:
This is for Windows Mobile 6!
But i remember having the problem with the registry switching back on softreset (MDA Compact 2), but i can't remember how i solved it Sry mate...
Probably somebody else has a hint on that...
Sorry to mention: But with awizard you can dump the extended_rom also. And with total commander you can see the extended_rom without any reghack - and then you just have to copy the files to sd card.
Becuse you might get problems with camera application. Perhaps you can only choose "main" or "extrom" tehre might be no sd card - that was the problem for wizard when unlocking extended_rom
I would use totalcommander
And btw - the extended_rom is posted in Terra-dump thread.
lol
Well sry, but i'm using total commander, and there was no ExtROM already mounted. So i had to regedit. And can you gimme the link to the terra dump thread?

and with pdocread = it is 62MB
because the end adress is another on awizard than with pdocread.

BUT be careful!!!
Hehe.
You can dump this rom perfect in anichillus Corekitchen. I modified it - BUT i forgot to reconvert the rgu to hv - that bricked my device.
But it works.
just to clear this a bit more into details... what do you mean by bricked ? completely burned, or just the rom got messed up? another question: is the bootloader part of the ROM or stored in another part of the device?
Today i tried to mount the IMGFS and it worked as i removed the whole htc anti spy dll, but it was only accessible over the usb/active sync connection and as of windows locks, some files couldn't be copied :/ pretty sad, seemed to be a easy way to get stuff out of the rom... 90% were copyable... the rest not :/

Bricked = only OS was messed up.
awizard = can only dump OS and Extended_rom --> IPL/SPL and all other is stored somewhere else.
pdocread = the same --> only OS.
We cannot flash IPL/SPL, Splash, Radio = becuase we don´t have an modified RUU or Bootloader like on hermes.
Please try to find a way.

IPL-0.50
Trin100 MFG
SPL-1.30.Olipro

Do I have to worry about this?
"For normal (non preproduction) devices keep in mind that if the CID does not match the flashing will not work. The CID for each ROM is listed on the Trinity Upgrades page. You can see your device's CID using info 2 bootloader command or using GetDeviceData.exe"
Sorry for all this, but phone is F***ed if I cannot gett this sorted

Maybe it is a problem with the HardSPL. I see you have 1.30, I've heard people reporting some issues. I am using Des' Crash Proof and all is ok!

I suppose that there is no way of flashing this from sd card if I can't flash anything else. Got a bad feeling!
No resulution yet
try this
copy Des Crash Proof Bootloader and TRINIMG.nbh to the SDCard.
On the phone use a file manager to get to the SDCard and run Des Crash Proof Bootloader.
The phone should restart and use Des instead of Olipro. The ROM should then update.
I've used the same process on my M700 without any problems.
Hope it helps

Hope it helps[/QUOTEThanks Moodog and tnyynt, I feel I'm getting somewhere. The only Des's Crashproof I can find is a zip file named "Crashproof.SPL.TRIN" with the actual file called "RUU_signed.nbh".
I cannot open this file in file explorer on my PPC.
Is there an executable version of Des's Crash Proof Bootloader?
This would solve all my problems.
Thanks again, I have scoured the forum for an answer.

I'm embarresed to keep asking, but...
I've put the contents of "Hard-SPL_ZakMcRofl" (Thanks tynnyt), with the "trinimg.nbh" file I want to use. First of all the "ROMUpdateUtility" will not execute in Windows Mobile. I can start "EnterBootloader", which takes me to the des bootloader screen, but no further, it does not initiate the "trinimg.nbh".
There's probably more wrong with the 'phone than I think, so I wait for the battery to drain, get a replacement from Orange and hope that they just bin it!
Thanks for all your help.

Just on the off chance, do you happen to be flashing from a SDHC card? I can't get mine to read NBH files always have to carry my 2GB whenever I want to flash a ROM.
Obviously not the only person that thinks so... here
