I am Taiwanese who live in Chincago, I can read either English or Chinese...it's does not matter to me about the English or Chinese OS, MyT-Mobile MDA was used English OS, but I can not see the Chinese, therefore I updated it to Hong Kong version of OS, but when I see this Rom, I updated it right away...I have been waiting for some one post the Taiwanese version of OS for long time...Thank you...buddy....I am so happy with it.......

In my case...my org. ROM was 2.17.xx.WWS..It is working, but I am not sure about yours..also I am not the who one post this rom...I guess we better double check with he, before you run it on your PDA...I just updated it without any problem and I take the risk for it...Hope this answer your question....

I did not get 2.17.xx from this forum, a friend of mind got the 2.17.xx WWE to me, but It does not running well on my MDA, therefore I just updated it to the CHT ROM..

Yes, CHT means Chinese Traditional, I could flash my Wizard from Qtek 2.17.7.2WWE to this one without unlocking the CID, I think perhaps it mainly because of the OS Language, I mean if we flash the Wizard from a English version to another English Version(from different vendor), maybe will have CID problems, but the flash between different Language do work -- only my own opinion.
Someone downloaded this ROM from dopodasia.com, he said only the VIP members could see and download it, it's an offical release version.

Thanks. Does anyone have any idea if 2.18 is different in any way from 2.17? So far, 2.17 is noticeably improved over 1.08, but it still seems to suffer some memory leaks, and there's room for improvement in a few other areas as well, so I'm always interested to see what's in new releases.

, I only lived with the CHT 2.18 for a couple of hours, the screen, font, and CHT word looks ugly and make me feel uncomfortable, so I flashed back to Qtek 2.17 WWE. I do not feel any obviously improvement from 2.17WWE to 2.18CHT, but frankly speaking, the 2.18CHT runs a little slowly than the 2.17WWE.
When we step out the CHS world, CE-Star is a necessay companion in case of inputting with the keyboard and reading the CHS, though PlumSIP 4.0 Pro is another choice for keyboard inputting, it does eat more memory and often frozen, and must plus with other CHS platform.
Yes, this ROM is slower than 2.17 ,but I use it for a day..I knid of feel it is more stable than 2.17. but I think it may have some bugs, I use Internet for over two hour on my MDA, it became very slow...but when I used the 2.17 has not problem at all... I guess the Chinese contexts takes alot of memory...

Got the QTek NL ROM 1.3.7.10 as well. Works great! Also got the Qtek Radio 1.13.0 flashed seperatley.

1.3.7.10 is dutch, Radio Rom is i think portugese but that doesn't matter for the Qtek.
The English WWE ROM i think 1.6.7.0 is the fastest

Tried to install the Qtek ROM, but it said something about the Vendour (don't know if I spelled it correct) wich is T-mobile in my case, and offcourse it needs to be Qtek. Is there anyway to solve this problem?

You need to 'CID unlock' the device first. Look around on this forum. There is enough info to find about flashing your device
Why not working with my device?! It crashes when syncing..
My Vario is slow and crashes too many times (TTWM5), many times it can't read my SD unless I reset the device; so I wanted to upgrade my rom.
But....: I got a real problem when I want to update my dutch MDA Vario....
The ppc is set to basic, factory. I can connect to my PC('s) with my cable. But.... when I start the dutch OR the english update the device crashes after a while. Then connection goes down and 4 big stripes appear to the device-screen. The updateprog on the pc gives an error and the prog closes. I run 2000NT (on both pc's). Who has me the answer? btw: I did already succesfully unlock the device. Fortunately I can soft-reset it without probs.

yes the test rom does have the three bar meter, but it also has A2DP, which the official release does not.

I've tried downgrading without success.I asked several times for help but no reply.I advise you to wait for the official release rom from Qtek or you will mess up your device like i did to mine.

juse use awizard 1.3 and you will be able to downgrade/ upgrade to any rom you want

Ximenin,honestly it is not my intention to scare you,but listen since I upgraded to this new rom my device reboots constantly,freezes and so on.
Maybe pilpel can help describe exactly how to downgrade using version 1.3 cause I've tried it without any luck.I just want to spare you the pain and anger I'm going through now.

Ok, but what's the OS version and build number? You can see it by clicking Start->Settings->System->About
It should say something like "OS 5.1.195 (Build xxxxx.x.x.x)"

I had early the Orange rom but that was a really slow one. This version of Qtek is a lot faster and now i am rid of the orange garbage on my phone...
The battery must go longer on with the new rom and more flexible turn on/off the Bluetooth and Wifi.
Also the Sync with 'activesync' is more stable and no more errors... with connecting.

It's exactly the same as the others you've tried, so I don't know how it is faster.
This ROM is exactly like the other AKU2 ROMs except for the default language setting and the carrier settings.

Hi Reejmond,
I already flashed my MDA Vario with this new ROM.
I flashed it the very first day it came out (the 25th of March if I remembered it correct). New look, or actually just an extra Qtek theme, don't know for sure because I just had the PDA for a few days and didn't look That good to the old firmware
But I do noticed that this one works faster then the old one, especially with some of the reg_tweaks on this forum.
this dutch rom 218 does have the same build # 14847.2.0.0 as the 217 that came out a week ago but i can tell you that it does move faster.It may have something to do with the ext.rom. I installed both an as soon as this one was loaded on my ppc without setting anything on it i went straight to wifi turned it on and connected without any delay and type in an address an the page was loaded within 3 seconds. AS FOR ME IF SOME ONE CAN LOAD ENGLISH ONTO THIS ROM THIS IS THE ONE I WILL STAY WITH TILL I FIND OUT FOR MYSELF A NEW ONE IS BETTER.
I dont use gprs or push so i cant say anthing about that. wifi and usb is great and i did see bluetooth stereo!!!! (I dont have a headset yet )
P.S for those of you who really dont think its much faster all i can say is see for youself and i hope it works as well for you as it has for me. To this point nothing wrong at all other than it needs english. Can someone please hook us up???

I think you'd just have to replace the OS... plus of course do all the language tweaks, get the english Sym file, etc. if you really want it to be in English, and not some gruesome Dunglish or Englitch

The day has been over and i am very glad with the new ROM!
A couple of friends of mine updated also their Qtek 9100 All with success and all of them are saying 'it is faster than the old one'

Ok, I understand now. I thought I had to get a rom that corresponds to my phone model/version (Dopod CHT9100). I'm trying to get rid of this Chinese language and get a English one on since I can't understand a word of Chinese. So I can use any model rom (HTC p3600, dopod d810) on my CHT9100 without bricking it? Thats the only thing I'm worried about. thanks what is the date of this ROM? the radio is 1.13.25.24 seems it is one version older that the latest on that that has radio: 1.14.25.24
well this is the original shipped rom that htc released for public. just got it this morning when i was in office. anyway about the older radio rom i think its because htc thinks that its much appropirate/stable compared to the newer ones that is why they make it that way

thanks, but if i'm not mistaken starhub should be 1.59.723.0 as the previous ROM is 1.18.723.3...
once the latest ROM is out, i can flash to cooked ROM as i hate to downgrade back to old SPL just to claim warranty...

So I will have to use one of the xda ROMs cuz my HD has that StarHub stuff on it? If so, which one is best/most stable?

well you just have to flash it with HSPL i guess and try it. anyway i dont have a starhub unit on hand cant try.
@kayk you can try and walk in to the service center in singapore and ask them to do a rom upgrade for your device. well be sure to "un" HSPL your device if you wanna do so.

actually... nothing happens. it just lacks the application that starhub firmware came along. well for me i prefer non telco tied devices.

but i think the CID check will state something like "This ROM is not for your device" or something like that, thus stopping you from flashing that ROM...
I dont like the Starhub logo @ internet tab and on the top curtain...
i prefer to flash using USPL way, this way i dont have to "un" HSPL when i need to claim warranty...not to mention downgrade SPL 1.56 --> SPL1.14
