Calm.. breath deeply, and chant the following!!
Start the setup again!
Thats all you need to do!
It is stuck in Bootloader mode.. a hard reset (press the power button & press the reset switch at the same time!) will help, HOWEVER.. you really should just start the update procedure again!
Worse case senario.. Press the power, record and reset button all together. That will put the device into a "clean" bootloader mode.. You can then update!

Hey Juggles, I've a brief question on the bootloader...I take it that it's in a separate memory area from the actual CE ROM? Just trying to wrap my head around how it works. The common "Radio: NONE" problem is apparently caused by the bootloader going to quickly, not allowing the radio to init before it queries it. If we understood where the code was, it might be patchable to add a short delay here. Mind you, patching the bootloader....dangerous! Is there a recovery proceedure for when it's goosed? Something like a serial jtag or i2c link for flashing?

no probs ppl
its got cure
thankx to this awesome website

Hey guys do something, where are the experts ??? I am sure its just software problem, I installed some software and next morning touchscreen was not working. I didnt dropt the pda.
Qbukhari.
Just a thought, try putting the device into bootloader mode then hard resetting the device.
Also try putting it into bootloader mode, updating the complete ORIGINAL rom and hard reset to complete the install.
Bootloader mode = power button + reset button + action button right ???
I have done so, problem still there
I have replaced the ROM downloaded from clubimate ----- problem still there
I have also tried to replace the XDAII rom ------ problem still there
now tell me where to get the ORIGINAL ROM ??? I am sure if the original rom is inserted it will be working again. btw pug can we talk online ? I am online now

hey all, I finally solve this problem, in the hard reset screen, there is menu for me to choose what to do in during the hard reset, like clear storage, registry... and i choose to clear all, then my XDA II is now work fine. (in the hardreset menu the backlight will not on, so it is not visible to find out the menu, also to change the setting use the botton of record, camera & volume button to control the menu.) good luck everyone!!
Thats a relief
Hi kindly tell me how to find that menu ?? I am sure I didnt damage my Alpine its just software problem let me fix it too.
Tell me how to find that menu during a hard reset plsssssssss
qbukhari.
WHERE IS THAT MENU??????????????
Menu ????
Still waiting for a reply, kindly tell me how to access "Clear Storage" function during the Hard Reset
qbukhari.
probably fake trying to make impression :?:
Too Sad
Dear Kabintos,
When you go in the setting/memory it is displayed total 122mb main memory in my PDA2 is this the same situation with you too ?
qbukharil.
The bootloader menu is not, as far as I'm aware, on the Alpine as it automatically detects network frequencies etc. Henrypak mentions XDA II not XDA IIi.
The program memory and so on in the Memory tab is only 122.04MB. Memory is quoted different to how most people think. 128000000 / 1024 / 1024 = 122.0703
The .03MB is taken up with partitioning of the memory to allow for storage etc.
Have a look at the hard drives on your computer for example, a 30GB hard drive is only 27.9GB. It's just how the manufacturers quote storage space, in thousands of bytes. Computers work them out in thousand and twenty fours of bytes.
To be honest Qamar, the more I think about your problem, the more I think it is a hardware issue, not software. If you've recently purchased the Alpine, it will still be under warranty and you should be able to take it back for an exchange. If not try opening it up and removing and reconnecting the ribbon cable for the screen from the mother board.
Obviously you've tried flashing it again, if the touchpad isn't working then you can't get past the screen alignment at the beginning of the ROM installation after a hard reset.
Out of curiosity, if the touch screen isn't working, how did you get to see the Memory status on your Alpine? None of the buttons are defaulted to settings or the start menu.
PDA2 live again
Hi All,
Well well well, here I am back in the game again. It was at the last moments when I was almost ready to send my Alpine for repairs when I got tip from a friend from uk. He sent me a tool to format storage completely.
After reseting the Alpine with reformatted storage the touch screen was back a bit misaligned though, after aligning it once its 100% fit now. How can I thank you my friend ???
Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeers !!!!!!!!!!
qbukhari.
gbukhari pls send it to me m8 pls pls and ill thank you as you were thanking your firend that send it that to you  also i wanted to ask you if you test really hard your machine after that in case it would do the same thing again
my email [email protected]
Can someone post a 100% tried and tested solution to the tapping problem?
TIA
Yeah...!
Can someone please post some instruction on sortingthis issuse out....
Lossing sleep over the thought of having to replace my screen.....
Cheers,

Hi everyone,
I had exactly the same issue with my XDA2i about a week after I purchased it (around 3 months ago). I was happily browsing the web over wifi around a friends house when the screen locked. I had to hard-reset to get it up again but it got stuck in a loop whilst aligning the screen, it wouldn't go past this stage at all.
I phoned the online shop I bought the device from and they told me they had had lots of people reporting the same symptoms and that they had identified a faulty batch. I was sent a replacement from a new batch about 4 days thereafter. The new one has worked fine ever since.
If it is a software issue that's fixable, great, go for it. But if your device is still under warrenty I'd suggest getting a replacement - worked for me!
Sorry I can't be a bit more posistive but thought I'd let u all know.

Crap... JIM... I think I may have BRICKED it

Well I was enjoying my Diamond today (picked it up from my local Telus store here in Vancouver, BC.) I was disappointed with the aGPS functionality so I tried to enter into service mode and load up the recommended applications (in other posts on PPCGeeks - I think the code was ##3326 or something like that...) Well - tried to install the application from the PC but unfortunately my PC didn't have the necessary file to do it. I started on my merry way using the phone anyhow and things were working fine without a hitch until I tried to take some video and the device slowed to a crawl. I decided to go ahead and soft reset the unit to clear things out. Right after I did this I the machine went into boot mode (where Touch Diamond heading appears and the red ROM information displays.) This is exactly where it has stayed. I thought maybe the battery was dead so I plugged it into the wall and let it sit for a while. Then I picked it up to see if it would boot. No go - WM 6.1 will not boot up. After to attempting to boot again several times through soft reset I decided the only choice I would have would be to hard reset. I held down the volume down button and held down the enter button, pushed in the reset button with the style... let up the reset button (still holding down volume down and enter...) and waited for the impending message to appear confirming a wipe. No Show Dorthy... nothing - zilch, nadda noonkah. So now I'm sitting here looking at this beautiful piece of equipment wondering if I have bricked the unit by entering the service mode and not getting out (pardon my ignorance on the topic... I'm a rank noob.)
Long story short - I'm looking for assistance, guidance, and help. The Touch Diamond screen just stares me in the face every time I try and reboot and I'm getting frustrated. It was by an act of the high heavens that I actually got the unit (the store only had 2) and I am praying there is hope for my lovely piece of lush ... albeit useless... Diamond...
SOS to the masters.
Sincerely,
Tweaking Diamond User
I don't know what you mean by service mode. Does it display SERIAL or USB? What do you exactly see. Don't think you bricked it, you need more for that
Not sure what you did to the ROM but it doesnt sound like you went into boot loader - rather just reset the device.
Hold down the down volume button while you hit reset and keep holding the down volume until the unit goes into a three color screen. Once its there that is the bootloader. Probably best to Hard SPL it from there and then load another quality ROM onto it.
open the back take out the battery for 10 seconds, reinstall battery, boot it up!
.it should work. if not, then you have one very expensive BRICK!
I second mr_cat's solution. You need to enter in the bootloader mode...
You should be able to revive it...look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=417341
This is a CDMA device... do not use hardspl or any roms on here, as there is no good reason to believe the gsm roms will help you... I suggest as gtpete does... remove the batt for a small period of time then try again. When trying to hard reset make sure you keep the vol dn and enter buttons held until you see the clear storage screen... don't let up too early.
Failing any of this return it to telus... no damage no foul...

Well, for clarification, what model of the diamond are we speaking of? The DIAM100 is certainly NOT a CDMA device. I'm in the US and use a GSM provider so I can't speak of Telus.

MyGuide 3100 ROM sample

This is a FLASH-able ROM sample. My question is : Is there any way to edit this and add more programs to it ? (the flash is for some of the MyGuide 3100 devices on the market. another question : is it the same for my device ?)
I tried to flash my device with this... it worked but it still does'n boot. only the boot image has changed. it's still frozent at about 8-10%.
Here is the sample :
http://rapidshare.com/files/140578865/MYGUIDE_3100_DACH_Inand_Update.rar
Guess no one is able to give a hand with this ?
the persisent registry do not want to go away even after flashinf it. i guess it just replaces the os and bootloader anl does not touch the partition that holdes the registry. any ideea how can i make it delete/replace the registry too ?
the device has 3 partitions (it copies the windows folder on RAM) :
1. The bootloader
2. the registry
3. the OS ( called BINFS - i can see but not edit or copy)
hello,
once i received my myguide 3100, it did NOT start.
it rested on a bootscreen showing some kind of "progress bar".
i managed to fix this by installing the firmware again, downloaded at the manufacturers website http://www.myguidegps.com/
it worked for a few months properly. since last week, i've got the same problem again....
but unfortunateley, the manufactuerer does NOT provide any more support...
seems they are insolvent or some...
could one of you guys gife me the original firmware for this device to get it working?? the one in this thread does not.... dont know why
would be SOOO nice
myguide3100 - arival naca400
Hello!
I have a similar problem with a A_rival naca400 which is said to be a clone of myguyde3100. Can you help me with a rom and drivers for myguide3100 try to write in arival?
Bricked my device using the downloaded firmware
Hello. I also have a big problem with My 3100: I downloaded the firmware attached to the first post and fleshed it to my device. Unfortunatelly, something really is wrong , because the update never reached 100%, it allways stops at 98%. Since then (about 2 weeks) i searched all around the web but couldn't find anywhere another firmware (a good one this time). forumleecher, you mentioned you have a valid firmware. Could you be so kind to upload it somewhere for me and others who need it? The original source, www.myguide.com is no longer available, since the company bancrupted and all it's sites are gone. Would be a great help.
Please help us with some good rom for myguide3100.
Looking for a few weeks and yet I found something that works.
You should be very careful by downloading and flashing devices by accident.
There are different hardware platforms of MyGuide 3100 on the market and flashing the wrong ROM will cause boot failures.
Afaik there are no ROMs available in the net (haven't discovered yet) and MyGuide is insolvent.
Cheers
sdr you solve this problem??? and how
MyGuide 3100 GO
same problem here, i am looking 4 a good rom
OK guys. I know how to do total hard reset registry and rest MyGuide 3100(i had the same problem with registry boot keys)
Download this first
http://rapidshare.com/files/299528735/myguide_3100_total_reset.rar
1. First You have to open PNA, disconnect power supply, SD-card etc.
2. After that You have to desolder this big metal cover.
3. Under this cover You will find k9f2g08 Chip.
4. Now you have to connect pin 9 to GDN and connect the battery.
5. Now wait until progress bar start moving, after he start, disconnect Pin 9 from GND.
6. The progress bar should load normal to the end and on the screen should be picture with SD-card.
7. Disconnect battery, assemble PNA and have fun

What exactly is happening with your PNA??>
Maybe You did something wrong.... GND connection or wrong PIN..?
Tell me what display is viewing ???
Hello
My daughter had a problem with her MYGuide 3100, it simply would not switch on any more.
I stripped the unit down and removed the big metal cover (not very well but it worked anyway) and then found this...
You can see a different chip to the Samsung one noted but I have guessed that it is just a matter of where they sourced the chips from.
Chip used to ground pin 9...
So I ground pin 9 and followed the instructions to now find that I get this...
The unit now boots but the progress bar will no longer progress beyond the amount shown in the above photo.
THe unit can no longer be switched off, but just reset. It also is not recognised by Windows and thus is not accessible.
It gives me the impression that sadly the unit is dead
In this type of nand FLASH memory, You have to connect pin nr 30 to GND and fallow with step's .
Pin 9 is NC(non connected) so that's reaction for GND connection is totally normal.
PS. I don't have email notification about post's here so if You can give me a shot about progress on my mail too ([email protected])
Thanks for what you have posted but alas it simply does not work. I found details of the chip too and realised that I needed to short a different pi, the one that you have so kindly noted, but it still does not allow the unit to boot.
This has also been noted here...
http://forums.ebuyer.com/showthread.php?t=11402&page=66
I am guessing that the ROM image is somehow corrupt and even though there is RomUpdate_RD_R01.exe available without a working USB connection, or an image to upload, then it is just a dead GPS.
Ok. So You have broken rom......Last chance to wake him up is desoldering the chip and write rom file on it in external programmer (Willem, cheapest one).
My solution is working for wrong writed registers(but rom must be ok).
Write , if You need deeper details
I appreciate your help. However the sourcing of a programmer and then the likelihood of me being able to desolder that chip has made in beyond my levels of skill to repair.
Thank you again for your help
write with what?

Bricked HD2 Help......

No Boot loader
Not charging
No lights
Nothing by pressing vol down and power buttons
Nothing by pressing both vol buttons and reset button
Turned off for hours without battery and pressed power button for long time to drain the battery and turned back on.
Nothing works any more ideas.
But when I connect it to my laptop it does make a notification sound that a new device is connected and is called the qualcomm cdma technologies msm.
If I have bricked it and no solutions and I have warranty should I call HTC or my insurance company?
See..

OK,try this! Remove the Battery-Cover. Look at the Space between the Battery and the Phones Frame on the lower side,on the right of our SIMcard. If you can see two small Pins, remove the battery, and reinsert it carefuly,so that the two Pins are touching the contacts on the Battery...
what happened?
flashing fail? any details please.

When experiencing any kind of problems its always usefull to post what you was doing before the problem occured. With no other information, there is no way to do any kind of propper trouble shooting.
Its like droping your car at a garage, say it has problems and walk away. Was it that you ran out of gas, did you battery failed or the engine, is it only a lightbulb that doesnt work. A car mechanic wont be able to help you with the car problem cuz he dont know what kind of problem you were experiencing
Try to recharge your phone by default loader (not by pc-USB) for a few hours and try to boot again. Or try entering boot loader while pressing volume down and power on after a few hours of loading.
I agree.
The issue has been posted like a telegram being sent to a grandchild for her nanny's funeral...!!
No one will probe you for your issues. You need to provide as many details as to how you r***ed your HD2..!!
Hi
i have pretty much the same problem. I got this phone on ebay because someone tried to put another rom on it and failed due to an power failure (thunderstorm).
When i connect the phone to the computer via USB, it recognizes a Qualcomm CDMA MSM Driver but cannot install it.
About the phone:
No lights, no bootloader, nothing. It becomes warm while charging so i assume the hardware is not faulty. I guess the bootloader is broken.
Do you have any idea how to save this phone?
i had once a similar issue...
i flashed and failed (not really, cause it works again )..
everything was the same only that i could get access to bootloader (and so my leo booted up).
but when it was powered off and i connected it to my pc, it also recognized a qualcomm device...
badly, that doesnt help you...
i have no plan how to get this work again...if the phone doesnt turn on...
maybe its time for a prayer.

I just found this thread, and hoping someone has come up with an answer, though I havn't actually searched the threads yet as i just got the phone today, cause someone bricked it trying to unlock it (I assume because his only clue was I might need to flash a different rom). But its the same symptoms, no lights, dosn't show charging, attempts to install a qualcomm CDMA MSM driver when connected to windows pc.
Is there a solution?
Thank you in advance for your replys.

[Q] Can't enter bootloader anymore!

Hi guys,
today I (again) used Task29 because the phone behaved strange (didn't find certain files anymore....again).
But this time its quite different. After finishing Task29 I wanted to enter the bootloader to flash the rom from my sd-card (\kovsimg.nbh)....but it won't start holding vol-down + power!!!
It does start normally, but hangs (due to no rom) at sony ericsson logo.
I can do hard reset, but as no rom is on the internal mem, it doesn't have any effect.
I need the bootloader, but it simply doesn't react on the key combo!
Has somebody got any idea?
I mean, it can't be bricked as everything else works like it should, right??
I have OliNex 0.72 since last couple of rom-flashes (~6). Been doing this for a while now....but each time successfully.
Please give me some feedback!
Thank you!
greets,
Andicp
the problem maybe on your Volume down hardware botton... try to reassamble the x1 and try to change the volume down hardware.. but you must have skill to soldering the hardware.. if you doesnt have the skill just go to phone service.. to change the volume down hardware...

But then it would act as if I'd push only the power button, right? And the Vol-Down button worked before that.
It simply doesn't react by using this key combo.
If I press power button alone, it switches on normally.
Any idea how to solve that?? Please help!
After some research it looks like I would need a Jtag box and adapter for the X1 plus any Jtag-Software to get a new bootloader onto the phone. This will be prolly around 250€ all together.
...so I'd say my beloved X1 is finally (after almost 2 years of usage and flashing fun) bricked.
I don't know how this happened but i am facing the truth right now.
Only way to revive it: Does anyone know a repair-shop in/ close to Munich which has the equipment??

Thanks for your reply!
But first linked thread implies that you can enter the os.
Second one uses cam-button instead of vol-down button, but thats not my problem as my vol-down button is working.
But this confirms that my problem really is the bootloader itself.
So, no luck so far.
Thanks for your help anyway!
fastboot not an option? or has SE that not?(download mode ect)
edit: forget that its an x1. and not an x10. sorry my fault
