How do I remove the Active Sync Icon - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Howdy all.
I need to disable or hide the little "Pc is Connected" icon that shows up when I plug the USB cable in. This is not a problem if you enable advanced functionality in control panel but I cant do that as True Connect software does not work in that mode under Vista.
I have removed Int_tray in startup folder and am using DCINobar to hide softkeys. But each time I sync with my pc this little icon pops up.
Any ideas?
Jules

net connection notification bubble & unessary services processes

1. Is there anyway to disable the notification bubble when Tilt notifies its connecting to the network, tired of preesing hide.
2. Is there any resource that identifies unessasary startup services/processes so as to disable them.
3. By the by has anyone expierienced the following.... Upon using the power button to turn off the backlight, the backlight will flicker on and off intermittently... seems to only happen when connected to power.
I just figured this out for number 1 and wanted to post it for posterity
Set the REG_DWORD Options to 0 in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{8ddf46e7-56ed-4750-9e58-afc6ce486d03}
OMG pennywisdom! I have been looking and looking for this information for a looooong time. Thanks a lot!!!!
BTW, does this also disable the 'could not connect' notification bubble? This bubble often comes up while using tomtom navigator in an area where the network coverage is poor and tomtom traffic keeps trying to connect. The bubble comes up, then if you don't acknowledge, tomtom loses focus and screen goes into screensaver...... and so on. Highly annoying! and dangerous while driving!!
For a "resource identifier" I use Dinarsoft's MemMaid and SkTools. They have a clean option that sorts out registry issues and finds bad schorcuts and uninstall data. You could also see if the rom your using has HTC task manager in settings and just shut down open apps from there.
The screen flash when you press the power button happens on some roms, i forgot how to disable it (been out of the scene for a bit) but i'm sure you'll find the solution if u search for it.

Why do a reg edit when its already available in the settings?
Go to Sounds & Notifications in settings, notifications tab on the bottom (how you change your ring/msg tones) Click the "Event" drop down list and select Connection Established, uncheck the box "Display message on screen" .. there you go.
The sounds & Notifications fix does not prevent the 'could not connect' notification bubble for me. Too bad - I have a basement office where connectivity is intermittent at best. Even although I have a rock solid WiFi connection the 'could not connect' notification bubble interupts me a lot.

The short answer is that I had no idea it was there, but it's good to know now so I don't have to remember that registry entry. Thanks!

Disable mail notification icon from wm

Hi,
Because I see on the touchflo interface how many new mails i have, i don't want the new-mail-icon next to the battery, sound, network icon. It would not be so bad but when i mark the mail as read on my computer and sync it, touch flow shows no new mails but the icon stays until i klick it and dismiss the notification...
can someone tell me how to disable this icon? Notification for new mails is already disabled (only blink-signal is marked)
thx & greets
Michael
There are a lot more icons i would like to hide though... Most of the time I cant even read "start" of the start menu button on my homescreen...
Another example: I don't use 3G, but the icon is always visible...

Bluetooth power control widget useless? / username in gtalk

There a bluetooth icon in the power control widget, it turns bluetooth on, but i dont see the use of it , i turn it on but my friends arent able to send me their pictures because my phone is invisible i have to go to settings, wireless connections and make my device visible EVERY time, am i doing something wrong?
Another thing that bugs me is that in gtalk my username looks like "[email protected]" how can i make it look like "chad petree" ?
The Bluetooth toggle in the Power Control widget is useful when you're using devices with which you're already paired, such as a headset or a tablet you're tethering on a regular basis. You turn on Bluetooth in the widget, and you're usually good to go.
When you're looking to connect with devices with which you're not already paired, then you have to go through steps in the settings (making your device discoverable, scanning for devices, etc.) to connect with that device. For quicker access to the Bluetooth settings, you can create a shortcut on your home screen:
Long press home screen
Select "Shortcuts"
Select "Settings"
Select "Bluetooth settings"
That should save a few clicks, at least.
I think Android's "Discoverable" option times out after 120 seconds (rather than just leaving it permanently on) for security reasons, and I'm not sure if that timeout can be overridden.

Remove quick connect!

How can I remove quick connect from the notification panel without rooting my phone?
In the Notification Tray, click Edit, then un-tick the Quick Connect on the bottom.
