battery life - Beetles

Hi i had a dude about battery life of hp h6515 does its normal 4 hours of useful of the device or is longer???
My device is hw6515 unlocked in telcel gsm WM2003SE 4 gb storage 2 in mini an other 2 in sd ??
Does can be fixed??
The mp3 mode with flight mode how long can be used??
I hope can had a solution

4 hours of talk time? First of all you have to look at your display settings--turn the backlight down all the way, and set the device to turn off after 1 minute. Take out one of the cards to save energy. Don't enable bluetooth or GPS if you are not using it. MP3 mode will give you about 8+ hours easily. You may want to replace your battery if it is old.

MDA Compact IV Battery issue

got MDA Compact IV battery don't even last for whole day,
does any one know if its ROM issue,
using same feature as MDA Ameo, Ameo last me more then a day.
any one else having same issue.
Same issue here
If I dont make any calls at all, follow the various tweaks to turn wifi & network data connections (ie turn them on when needed and turn them off automatically 30s later). I manage to get a day and a half! If I start using it properly, I can use it all up in 8-10 hours!
It is only a 900mah battery, but given that the extended batery is only 1340mah it's not THAT much of a difference, maybe a day and a half to 2 days. My Trinity could run for 4-5 days without a charge on low usage.
Still, the phone is sooo nice
Has anyone tried the unofficial extended batteries that are 1800mah?
Yes it is such a nice phone!
My old MDA Compact3 used to last for 3-4 days with little usage and that had a 1200mA battery.
I think its the faster processor and the 3G that slurps up the juice. I read somewhere that if you turn off 3G and use 2G totally, the battery life is OK.
3G phones have always been power hungry. I remember the old 3 phones which would not last 12 hours!
There are a lot of clever people on this Forum, I'm hoping that someone will come up with a solution soon (Maybe slow the processor right down when its in standby)
Well, had the MDA Compact IV for a few days now and I am seriously thinking about sending it back, there seems to be so many quirks.
1) Battery life is a joke!
2) Touch-Flo overrides all other settings and isn't very customisable
eg clock doesn't display in title bar even though it is set to.
3) Email can't be deleted from the Touch-flo interface you have to go to the Inbox to do it
4) Screen switches off as soon as the phone connects, which is a real pain when you have to 'click 2 for tech support'
5) Why isn't there a button to access the camera quickly?
6) The power button on th III was in a much more logical place, on this is is in the 'phone' position, which is fine if you never need it but on this it is needed all the time!
7) Weather doesn't update automatically
I have now given up with Touch-Flo and am using it as I did the III, with SPB Shell and PhoneWeaver, phoned T-mobile and they said it was problem with my handset they are replacing it tomorrow! New game is great though and I really like the phone, most things I can manage with except the battery and the screen switching off.
1. True
2. What? It is customisable to an extent, look at programs like Diamond TF3D Config and the themes available. The clock displays in the title bar for me in all apps. If you want more customisation then use the today screen and turn off TF3D
3. Then turn off TF3D if you dont like it.
4. Use one of the tweaking apps to disable that
5. You can set it open by holidng the call button with one of the tweaking apps
6. It's in the same place it is on all Nokia phones, out of the way so you dont turn it on when you pull it out your pocket from its sides
7. Yes it does, you can change that setting in the TF3D settings, the bottom setting

Mine was "despatched" yesterday so should be at home today when i finish work ... will let you know what its like.
Above all, im looking forward to the flat back replacement, im fed up with the phone being on a desk and rocking when im taping away a text message
i have disable TF3d abd use as normal pda battery last longer like 1 and half day.
but its no point its same as normal pda then. might be get better battery or i have keep sapre battery.
My Battery has improved...
I too reported the battery was poor.... initially.
But it seems to have improved with every charge!
I have cut down all the comms and forced 2G. Gone down to the lowest screen brightness + 1 notch.
The battery went from 10 bars (full) down to 9 bars over 24 hours with minimal use.
I let the battery fully deplete, then gave it a 12 hour charge overnight. The MDA C4 was unplugged at 08:00 yesterday morning and today at 12:45 I still have 9 bars! I am quite please with it now.
I guess I'll have to force it to 2G and move onto 3G if I am surfing for extended periods of time.
Hope that helps.
i user my pda with laptop to surf internet @ work
i use to use Ameo after surfing from 9:00 till 16:00 i still got 30-40% left on my Ameo
with MDA C4 with out TF3D used it for 30. battery drop from 99 to 84%.
if i use TF3d battery drain like mad.
Having a few issues myself, stock T-mobile UK ROM, TF3D running. Reading through somebody mentions an issue with the version of Google maps that is pre-installed, basically doesn't shut down the GPS fully even after closing the program. I uninstalled it, and installed the latest version from Google, version 2.1.0.10. Not sure about anybody else, but my battery life has improved hugely today, with the same usage as yesterday. Used Opera, several emails, several calls, Google maps, and general fiddling and battery is still around 80% (took it off charge 11.00 last night). Don't know if its a solution for everybody, but has REALLY worked for me......
4&5) What one do you recomend?
6) But with Nokias you never use it, the phone wakes up when you press any button
7) Yes, but how often?
This is my 2nd day without recharging and still 40% left. I haven't made any calls but the phone was on and I used wifi a couple of times. Looked upon the album in tf3d a couple of times and some other things. So I think I cannot complain on battery capacity
MDA compact 4 Battery life
Hi
I left the phone for 4 days unused and the battery suvived,
but unfortunatly after changing the original rom and after inserting the sim card the phone now does not stand by more than one day
i tried the minimum use just phone on standby but still less than a day.
any idea about best rom on t-mobile for battery life. or at least the original rom to try
thanks
I just installed AZTOR's x2 ROM, maybe it will prolongue the battery life. The original ROM last just a day, max 1,5 days. I hope it will improve now...

Extending Battery Life :)

I know there are a lot of threads talking about battery life but I've made this one to look at trying to find the best roms, radios and tweaks to get the most out of the diamond.
Can anyone with a battery life of over 10 hours on heavy use (regular text and email use, maybe an hour of music and an hour of web surfing / gps and atleast half an hour of calls a day) please give any details of rom, radio, tweaks youve applied.
That way we can try and find the best solution for optimising battery life .
Im currently getting 10-12 hours of runtime with duttys 2.6 rc1, radio 1.00.25.08 and no tweaks applied. Screen brightness set to auto. Bluetooth and wifi off, wired headset plugged in for about 1.5hours of music.
Thanks in advance to everyone that helps by writing down their info!
If you let the device running without going to suspend mode, the battery would last for about 4 to 5 hours. That how many hours the battery would last and you can't do anything much with it, unless you buy the extended battery which would last about 7 to 8 hours.
By going to suspend mode (pressing the power button), the battery is put into suspend mode where it uses the minimum power which would last for about a week (if you never wake the device up after a full recharge).
So, my point here is, it doesn't matter what you do, you could only use your device for 4 to 5 hours (usage time, not including suspend mode) and believe me, you can't possibly tell how long you've actually used the device unless you use software to tell you exactly how long you have used the device (not including suspend mode) as sometimes you thought you're listening to music for 20 minutes but actually you've been listening to music for 30 minutes, or you've waked up the device from time to time to send/receive sms which could have totalled up to 1 hour, where you aren't aware of.

Best Radio Rom for Battery life?

Anyone who's seen me in Rom threads probably knows that I usually ask the question about battery life, its like one of my obsessions... I want a phone that does a lot, but gets the most battery life too, probably not a winning combination, but it all helps!
I read on one thread that someone was using a radio version 1.10 and found it gave them better battery life then the new 1.13 with no loss of signal / gps.
Anyone got any thoughts?
1.13 radio
i just upgraded the radio in my hd to the new 1.13 from 1.09 and feel that the battery is a little better than before. i also currently running kwbr topix 1.0.1 wm6.1 rom. today will be the first full with that combo. i'll get back to you tomorrom on how the consumption is.
Have been using 1.13 since release and found no issues at all.
I am using Duttys 2.9 ROM and am getting 2.5 - 3 days of reasonably heavy use. Before i was getting 2 max before
Battery life sucks for me.....
2-3 days of battery life with heavy use.... i cannot even imagine getting that on my phone.
I dunno whats wrong with my phone .
I just updated to the new rom and radio from htc website.
Also, have disabled, wifi, data connections, active sync... all the stuff that take the juice out.
Also i am in NA, so also disabled 3g.
My setting are set manually for backlight and it is at the third point from the left.
I also have screen turn-off in 1min as well as switch off in 4 min.
In terms of program, i have pocket shield and incall touch lock program.
No after charging the battery to full.
This is wat i get,
Talk time- 30-45 min.
Music - 120 min. (S2P2 player)
Wifi - 10 min.
Now after almost 30 hrs.
battery is showing jst one bar.
==================================
Am sure what usage i mentioned above is definitely cannot be termed as heavy.
Let me know, if someone can help me to improve my battery life.

I'd do this too, its best to start with a rom, see battery life first without installing anything, then add bits one by one and you can usually eliminate the culprit!

I have HTC Touch HD half year and batery never last more then 30 hrs with oficial ROM and clever use!

i use the music player for about 2 hour's a day and use the phone for about 1-2 hours and i am nearly always on the net with it as well.
edit: @drgopoos, WiFi eats battery like you wouldn't believe so no wonder you dont get more than 24hrs. I once had WiFi on and plugged the phone in to sync with my PC and the battery still went down. What happens if you dont use WiFi. Surely you dont need it 24/7?
I too am in the same boat, can't really stretch much past half a day with a bit of music, websurfing and the occasional email. No WiFi, only 3G. I've loaded a few apps (TomTom, CorePlayer and PHM Regedit) and don't have Exchange or anything active. Running Dutty V3.6 XT and radio 1.14.25.24.
Watch your power settings! My sat-nav program turned off the "turn off device after xxx mins" option in there. I could hardly reach 24 hours with one charge since the device never really turned off. This was really annoying e.g. when a reminder popped up at night, or when the phone was out of my reach.
After I realized that and set my option properly (screen 30 secs/power off after 1 min) my device lasts at least 2 days with normal use and even 3-4 days at light use.
I use radio 1.14.25.24 on Duttys 3.4 XT

A-ha. I am getting 2 weeks with extremely heavy use.
Brightness is set to 100%, Wi-Fi and BT are always on. And I talk 24 hours a day also.
mine always have some strange consumption of power when I leave it through the night
before I go to bed it would be around 50% but when I wake up (5 hours later without running any programs of course) it drop to Battery very low
I'm using Radio 1.14, when I was on 1.13 I'm not experience that problem
I got the feeling that the newer radios use more battery. I've just downgraded to version 1.09.25.14, which I think was the original one that came with the phone. I will let you know my experience with that.

Even with stock rom I would get no where near this, and I doubt anyone else would. I've used all Throys roms and yes it may be possible to get battery usage to maybe 2 - 2.5 days when left on standby but with heavy use!!! Extremely doubtful.......what do you classify as heavy use? Leaving it alone on standby locked in the cellar so no one can touch it!!
god, i'm happy when i make it through the day, meaning 12-16h without recharging, little to no music, hour or 2 msn, some net, normal call/sms, few weather updates....best i got was about 36h on Lost In Asia v5, generally Titanium seems to drain less then Manila :/
i could see getting 3 days if i buy 2 more batteries....or never unplug it from my laptop/socket :/

only two weeks ??? Your battery is probably broke !
Lil feedback with Lost in asia V5 and radio 1.14.25.24
around 36 h with heavy use
around 48 h with normal use
But i noticed that 4 things eat a lot my battey:
-when i check my mail and when the connection is bad ...
-when my HD is connected to my pc by usb
-when i'am in subway because sometimes it's edge, sometimes HSDPA etc...
- Wifi of course !
By the way, manila eat more battery than titanium...

never had these benefits...
perhaps you have a battery plus, or a special hd
I have suffered with battery life as well... Can never get past a day to be honest & I have tried almost every ROM from here including WM6.1 & 6.5. I use my phone mostly for music, little bit of gaming and web surfing. It is connected to net all the time though, because I have unlimited data plan. I normally leave home at 8:30 in the morning & till then the phone stays plugged in with the charger over night.
On the way to work and back I listen to music with normal 3.5mm headphone & sometimes play xtract or watch movie. The journey time is around 40 mins each way. I actively surf internet for around 15mins during break, not every day though. My emails get automatically downloaded after every 2 hours from 4 different providers. AND THAT'S ABOUT IT.
By the time I get home at around 6 in the evening the battery level is generally at around 65% and I consider this as light use.
Is there any chance to improve it?! I don't wanna buy those huge batteries which shatters the sexyness of the device.

[Q] (Q) who can make some tests for me on Note...

hello,
I plan to buy a Note. I don't panto use it as phone, because I have one which works well.
what I plan to do is :
read ebooks, internet, draw (as hobby...), takes notes, report ( jobs), schedule, read news, ...
In fact, I would use it as a small tablet, easy to get in pocket, easy to read, and not so bad to use keyboard.
galaxy tab 10.1 ( which I have) is to big.
galaxy tab7.7 could be the good choice, but I can't really draw ( with finger, I tried, it does not work well)
galaxy note could be my choice, if battery life is enough.
I would like to know what range of battey life this device could have, without 3g, data, or sim card ( airplane mode, with wifi), as I don't plan to use it with sim card.
thank you
olivier
I've travelled alot and have used the Note on flights to listen to music, play games, watch movies and take the occasional photo, all in flight mode. It seemed to me that there was no significant difference in the battery life. A 1:30 hour movie would usually result in about 20% battery drain. After a 5 hour flight from fully charged I would have roughly 30-40% battery.
I'm using the stock rom which has been rooted and I'm careful to not have unnecessary applications running in the background.
My battery usually lasts about 15 hours regular usage, and I turn my radios (3g,wifi) as I need them.
Have you checked out the Galaxy player? My little cousin had one and it's exactly the same as the Note, just not a phone and no removable battery.

The Note is great for what you are describing. Not sure anyone has ever tested what you are asking about battery life. The display is the main battery user and from what I have read and experienced (used Note for six months) the most you can expect with screen on fulltime is 6 hours. That may not sound like a lot but average use will mean you have screen on for three hours and still have around 40-50% battery at the end of the day.

I use my Note to read ebook a lot. With Kindle, low intensity and night screen I can use the Note for about 6 hr with 10% battery left.

Unimpressive battery life.

Was expecting 10 hours of screen on time but was only able to get about 5hours
Things I've done(that gave 5hours screen on time)
Greenify(all apps greenified except whatsapp)
Gravitybox smart radio
Removed about all the bloatware I could find using titaniumbackup (including Google search, google plus, google now)
Disabled all auto-sync except for Gmail
Disabled x-reality
Disabled "scanning always available" (search for advanced wifi in settings)
Gravitybox
Stamina mode
Brightness about 20%
That's about it, tips or even a guide to improve this will be greatly appreciated.

If you just turn the phone on and watch videos for 10 hours, I'm sure you could do that. You can't look at reviews and think that their battery tests (which don't mimic real use) are gospel. I just had my first day with the Z3C with AT&T service. Long story short, I'm getting the same battery life on my Z3C that I had on my Razr Maxx HD. And that's with location reporting on and brightness at 75 or 80%. On my RMHD location reporting was off and brightness was around 50%. I took it off the charger at 6am, it's 8pm now and I'm at 63%. 2 hours SoT.
If this was my Moto X I'd be at 15% or less.

Yeah, I know that's where you got the 10 hours number from. However, typical "real life usage" doesn't mean having the screen on for 10 hours. For example, I listen to a lot of podcasts and music. If I didn't I could probably double my screen on time. Stuff runs in the background and uses power as well. Battery life isn't just screen on time.
did you have a SIM card inserted? I noticed they didn't have a SIM card in theirs. This may turn off the cellular antennas
The problem with these synthetic tests is its repeating the same thing over and over again. Things like caching start coming into play
They didnt have a sim in? Thats pretty much invalidates the 10 hours number for sure. Cell service always drains more battery than wifi.

He has the phone in ultra stamina mode. If you wanna turn your smartphone into a dumbphone and have it last a week go ahead. Im gonna get two days out of one charge. Probably around 4 or 5 hours SoT, along with 6 or 7 hours of listening to podcasts and/or music. 10 to 12 hours of actual usage over two days is pretty pimp in my book. Im plenty happy with that. Dont know what to tell you.

Well. I'm basing this off of the screenshot they posted (I don't even know what that screenshot is trying to show). They really didn't say in their article. You can see the "no SIM" icon at the top and they're on WiFi.
I doubt they ran the test with a SIM card and 4g/LTE, and then went through the trouble of taking the SIM out and enabling WiFi before taking the screenshot.
Regardless, the battery life is good enough for me. Best from a phone I've ever had.

Sony says you can get 1-2 days on a charge with no battery saving modes on, 3-4 days with stamina mode, and up to a week with ultra stamina mode. Dude is on day 6 in that screen shot, so draw your own conclusions there. Plus, like another poster said, he's not on 4G or HSPA. Of course he'll have crazy battery life. My old flip phones used to last 3-4 days easily as well.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. If you think that the battery in the Z3C sucks, fair enough. I, however, am more than happy with a phone that gets the same battery life as my Razr Maxx HD. The Z3C has brightness turned up higher, and EVERYTHING on (except bluetooth), whereas the RMHD didn't. After one full day and 5 hours of actual use (2 hours SoT and 3 hours of audio listening with Pocket Casts) I'm at exactly 50%. Didn't charge the phone overnight. Gonna use it like normal today, see if I can get 2 full days with no battery saving mode turned on, 10 hours actual use.

Oh, sorry. The first time I clicked the link it took me to a different post and screenshot.
Well again, the guy doesn't have 4G or HSPA on and is on wifi. Those are not 'real world conditions'. Maybe he doesn't have 4G or HSPA where he lives, but I do and I'm gonna use it. Good for him. I like smartphones better than dumbphones though

That is the only difference I'm finding between his settings and mine but I'm doubtful it would double my screen on time.
What do you want, unlimited screen on time for 2 days no matter what? Thats now how batteries work.
