Go into outlook, go to menu, then options. Then, select the account that you wish to edit. It should then bring you into the options for that specific account. If it's an outlook account, go to the page with your login info and click advanced. There you can deselect attachments, as well as tell it to download headers only and such.

thanks for the help

"Messages" wouldn't run

Hello,
incredible but true, on my P3600 "Messages" would not run any more.
I cannot access the whole Messages software (inbox, draft,...): no sign of life clicking on the icon (the envelope), neither from Start->Programs->Messages nor from SPB Phone Suite.
Calendar and Notes in Pocket Outlook continue working well.
So now I cannot access to email nor SMS.
When I send an SMS from another mobile to my P3600, I see the P3600 screen becoming active (only the brightness) but no notify message appears. It seems that the Messages software doesn't load in memory any more even if I click the "tmail.exe" file in file Explorer
I am using WM5 (with official ROM) and in last days I have upgraded Pocket Plus to 4.0.1; I also use other SPB software as Phone Suite (1.1.1), Weather, ...
Unfortunately there are no changes removing Pocket Plus
Anyone faced a problem like this?
Thank you
Are you storing attachments on the miniSD?
Yes
the SD (Sandisk 2GB) seems to work
do you know how to modify the settings? I couldn't reach them because they're in Messages.
thank you
I'm not sure if that's the cause of your problem, but my Mail directory got corrupted once and messaging refused to start, like it happens to you. Try to rename the directory to Mail_ so that messaging recreates the dir again. You can change the attachment storage location on the messaging options.
thank you Apoc,
anyway yesterday evening I made an hard reset. I have tried to install a backup but the problem arose again so I decided to re-install all without backup.
I take your advice for the next time...because re-installing all I had on my P3600 there is a chance to face the same problem soon
thank you, really
I have same problom...
Please help

Did you try to run mailaccountrepair? You can download here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=328467&page=2

This worked for me. Thanks!!
Did you store the messages' attachment on SD?
if you haven't fix the problem with mailaccountrepair, you could try formatting the miniSD (first copy all the files on your PC).
I have read this advise on another forum
It seems that it could be a problem of corruption of the attachment stored on SD.

I try to make a list of action from the Apoc's advice:
1. Using file explorer, rename the directory (probably on your SD) where Messages store the attachments (from "Mail..." to another name)
2. soft-reset
3. try to access Messages again (the envelope icon in Programs)
4. if Massages opens, it will create a new directory named "Mail..." in which the attachments will be stored, but you will not have the old attachments in Messages
Then you could try to copy the files that are the dir you have renamed to the dir that Messages has just created
if Messages doesn't open, try mailaccountrepair (as written by emay) or hard-reset (as I did)

Need Help - Problem with Mail Attachments

Lately I have been unable to open mail attachments via either my yahoo or xpress mail. I have tried the obvious (uninstalled / reinstalled my mailboxes, deleted the self-creating Windows/Messaging and Inbox.mstxxxxxxxxxx folders). No success. The attachments appear to successfully download (I can see them on the storage card) and the email contains a "live link" to click the attachment, but when I do so, I get a message saying 'unable to display attachment'.
This is really frustrating, because it used to work perfectly. I have spent hours trying to fix this without success. All my mail is saved to my 8GB storage card, so storage should not be an issue.
Any thoughts or help would be really appreciated. I REALLY do not want to do a hard reset. Thanks in advance.
Bump. Anyone? Any help would REALLY be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
you have deleted folder "Connections" in program files folder.....create this path in program files folder of your phone memory(not memory card) connections/mail attachments.
That worked. Thanks you VERY much for your help. I really appreciate it.

[Q] Serendipity 5.8

I guess I still can't post in the developer thread, so I hope it is ok here.
I noticed or missed it, but I can't find the Corporate Option under the Account and sync settings. I need to set up an Exchange connection, where with Assonance and other 2.2 versions,( I know Captivate stock is 2.1), you just select add account and 1 option is Corporate. Am I missing it, or was it pulled out or is that something that could even be in it.
Thanks for all your help.

Yeah I know they are the same.
That is what I did, but it isn't there. You see Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, then under more accounts Google. There isn't Corporate or Exchange
use chance's kitchen and get the samsung email app and flash it.
Hi all new to this custom ROM thing just installed serendipity 5.8 and very happy with it , wanted to add some of the add-ons and wanted to ask a noob question- how do I flash the add-ons
I'm sure this has been asked millions of times but I searched and couldn't find the answer

[Q] Office Client

Hi,
I flashed my phone to a Custom ROM (GingerDX v029) and realised that it doesn't has the native email client. Can anyone please hook me up to a good email client where I can configure my office email account to? Free obviously.
Thanks!
If you have zip of any other rom then get the native email from it.
Open the zip
go to /system/app and extract email.apk from there.
Hey, thanks! Did that.
But right now, I can't set up the mail.
What happens when you try to do it??
I have entered all the details correctly. It then starts checking the incoming settings and prompts with the message "Unable to open connection to server". I have tried this on 2-3 other email client apps as well. Same error.
Could it be because of the root access by any chance?
No.. thats not because of root,,
install gmail from play store and check whether the problem exists..

I already have gmail and its running properly. There is no problem in that.
Right now I am trying to set up my Exchange Account in my phone and not able to do that.
hmm...
clear the apps data and cache.
now reboot and see..

Wait. I will try that.
Same error.
The thing to note is that my friend is using the same settings, and in his phone, he has configured the mail account successfully.
hmmm....
give me a little time..
Hmmm.. okay
Anyone?
So I searched around a little bit, and this what I got:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2563324 (Issue 2.1 in this link)
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=9426
Apparently, when you flash you phone, you lose the security credentials of the phone which come attached to it by the manufacturer. Hence, you can connect to the public email ids and domains, but not to the secure ones.
This is what the problem which I think I am facing as of now. If anyone can help me install the security certificates again in the device, please do.
Maybe the only solution is reverting to stock by SEUS.
