Stocks monitoring software? - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo Accessories

Can anyone recommend some good stocks monitoring software? Maybe with a Today plugin that will scroll the stocks and inform you if they are up or down?

In another life (wm2003se) I used to love Todayplus, found in this forum
http://forums.jhollin1138.com/index.php?topic=1712.0
It has a lot of variations and does have a stock monitor and automatic web-update option (among other things). There are weather-only versions, stock-only versions etc, if I remember rightly. I hear folks are using it for wm5 but I'm not sure. Someone with your know-how can modify it to suit your purpose and its free.

By far the best I've tried is Magnifoca STQ (Stock Ticker and Quotes). I've been through just about every stock program available for the PPC. Some have very nice features, and in some cases MORE features than STQ. But for my money STQ delivers the best Today screen integration... with a scrolling stock ticker for cryin' out loud! It will set you back a tidy little sum at just under $30 US from Mobihand. Worth every penny if you're serious about tracking market and stock activity at a glance.

Yes, I believe it does although I don't use that feature. I've included a couple of screen shots from the "add new stocks" screen, including results from searches for the market index of the Stockholm Stock Exchange (OMXS30) and a stock from the Frankfurt exchange called LB BERLIN HOLDING (BEB3.F).

Looks just the job. Can't wait to test it out in the Alps next week. Thanks for the link.
I downloaded the trial version which has all the features I am looking for. However, when I set it for the screen to go off, it just dims instead and will therefore be a big drain on power.
Do you know if there is a way to turn it right off while still having the GPS working?

Best Alarm Clock for Xperia?

I need a new alarm clock for my Xperia. The basic alarm on the phone does not wake me up so I have been using G-Alarm since I bought the phone. G-Alarm is awesome but before it used to be free. This is not the case anymore. If I am going to have to pay I might as well explore my options. What is the absolute very best alarm clock for the Xperia? I hear the PocketClockPro or whatever is pretty good but what does everyone else think?
Thank you
Use an older version of G-Alarm? They're still free if you can find the CAB files. Luckily I still have one on my phones SD so I rolled back to that instead of the latest version.
I would suggest PTravel Alarm, along with its wake-up tweak. Functionally, it is approaching perfection, including ease of use.
The only slight downside it that there is a thin band across the main alarm screen due to the WVGA effect, but it doesn't affect visibility or functionality.
I'm using the stock alarm clock and it's awesome .

It wakes you up in the morning without fail, alarm is loud enough, and snooze has enough options. What else do you need? Does it have to double up as a machine gun also?

a machine gun feature would be nice. What better way to ward off burglars than by wielding your alarm clock? As long as it doesn't overheat the battery I'm good
I use G-Alarm... I wasn't aware there was a buyable version- if that makes sense LOL. I love it. I hated Alarm Monster. DELETE. G-Alarm has MANYYYYYY options, you can have so many different tones to wake your booty butt up going on right after each other. And I love how it tells you how many hours that you don't have left to sleep haha.
Stock alarm sucks. I get SO paranoid I wont hear it after one time, altho I'm always up before my alarm anyways, and theres only 3, I need @ least 3 everyday... what if i need more???
Just my 2 cents.
I use G-Alarm. Paid for it when it became commercial. It's not let me down yet. The 3 standard WM alarms isn't enough for me. I use at least three for week 1 and three for week 2. Then some random ones in between.
I find it easy to use now I've been using it for a while, export my alarms and just import them again when doing a hard restart. Too easy.
But I'm a bunny, just a 45 year old kid according to some I guess.

This version of Galarm works best, and it's for free
I would highly suggest G-Alarm. I have never seen such a great alarm applicationbefore. Worth every penny because you will definitely wake up to and believe me, me waking up is not easy.
Battery use
And what about the battery use with G-Alarm? does it spend much energy?
I haven't noticed any negative affects on the battery by using g-alarm. I just ended up downloaded the latest version of g-alarm that didn't require money. I am all good but often times my alarms F up. it is kind of annoying. like instead of sound the alarm the phone will vibrate. it wakes me up but its an error message so i can't snooze it, and i like snoozing my alarms so i can sleep longer
Just started using the G-alarm cab posted here and am really liking it, very reliable so far and customizable.
I did try the more recent demo version of G-Alarm but found it to be overly complicated compared to the one posted here.
Will stick to the free one me thinks

You guys seen their new website? Much, much better! I actually like how it looks now. Check it out.
For those who don't know, not that there's many who don't, it's a site where you can get ringtones/wallpapers/etc. for your phone 100% free, no catch, no bs.
www.zedge.com
Can you tell me what is the point of visiting their website? If I want to download a wallpaper or ringtone, I'll just use their app, why care about what their website looks like?
Because there might be people that rather have a bookmarked site over an app
What do you mean? I still don't see the point of bookmarking or visiting their site.

is easier if you install their App from Market

I'd imagine because on most phones it doesnt matter. I remember back when I had my Moto E816 I could only use certain file types for a ringtone/notification/alarm/etc., now you can use pretty much whatever you want.

They should add a remote install feature to the website, obviously requiring you to have the Zedge app installed on your phone. That would make it really worthwhile using the site over the app.
I do agree that the site is better for browsing, but the app sets things for you. We want the best of both worlds.

Sometimes there's an error retrieving the status of just a single country's status. Refreshing the whole thing just to refresh that seems like a burden on your server to me. Maybe have a little refresh icon next to each country in the list that refreshes the status only for that country? Just a suggestion.
Good job though, thanks!

Also a feature to add a number of seconds/minutes to automatically refresh. ( most of us know how to do it but a suggestion is a suggestion! )
Also a "notify me" when availiable thingy might be nice. Not with e-mails or anything like that....with rss or a sound maybe?

A direct link could be very easy to implement but useless as you need to be under the country's IP to view it, and relying on web proxy to link it seems not praticable to me.

Its possible the phones will go on sale again by region Australia then Europe then USA /Canada based on timezones. In this case it would give some advanced warning.

Please help - really wanna change my phone's OS ;(

I bought an HTC Desire 510 few months ago cause my Xperia ARC died (was the best phone I ever had).
Now I am very disappointed with the HTC 510, mainly cause of it's awful operating system bundled by google ALL OVER the place
The user interface is a one big disaster, so much annoying and unnecessary stuff... besides the annoying bloatware (parental control app? srsly?)
I really wanna root this phone and change it's OS to those similar of gingerbreed, cyanogen etc but I don't know how to do this with my current phone
and don't even know what custom operating systems are available for the model I have.
What annoys me about the user interface:
*Often lowers the earphone music volume without my permission then gives me this annoying warning that making it higher will damage my hearing - srsly?
*Screen tends to lower it's lighting and back again by itself while I use the phone
*A button at the bottom of the menu that looks like a "home logo" will open somekind of useless google page each time I drag that button up by mistake.
*Terrible and irremovable Gallery app, not to mention it displays images in uncomfortable way, it also features a slideshow which often plays automatically without me asking it to each time I enter a photo album.
*Poorly made irremovable alarm clock app
*Other forced google apps installed on my phone which i don't use and can't just get rid of
*Bad just bad option of organizing apps, well for me atleast, back on my Xperia ARC I used to organize my apps by "commonly used apps" feature, went great, here it's just wacky, it doesn't do it automatically after you set it to organize the following way. So I find myself surfing through all the useless apps to find the app I need at the app menu.
Can anyone give me guidance or recommendation for an alternative Operating System I could replace this horrific google product infecting my phone since I bought it?
I presume this phone would become amazing with a new custom OS, did anyone changed the OS on their HTC 510? if yes what you use and how is it?
Also I know to root this device you first need to unlock the bootloader, is there anything else important I need to know when rooting it?

Dude really. Maybe you should have checked out the forums of this model B4 you bought it. That being said, since you say you are unlocked and rooted then doing a quick search should get you everything you need to rid yourself of all that is bothering you. Depending on what you have and with whom there are some pretty good options out there to use. Check it out and start doing it.
Or you could just throw your phone in the lake, buy and Iphone and forget about it. Bam!

Ok, how do I deal with the "menu" thing where I want to authomatically always to arrange my icons by last used but cant right now?
I tried themes, but those are so intrusive and full of advertising, well those I tried so far.. (if there are any good ones to recommend I'd give a try) and how about disabling the annoying requests of updates I don't even need? <--(forgot to mention this issue) And how about issues 1-3 I mentioned? any idea how i deal with those then? All I can say (and I never said it was easy) is for you to subscribe to all of the HTC 510 Forums and start reading thru the threads. In your case, the most helpful one being this one..."Help & Troubleshooting" if you can not find answers to your particular questions then I would assume that means we just aren't there yet. This is a pretty new device after all. I wouldnt know about themes being I am on custom ROM and that is not an option. You should maybe go for the Unlock and root your phone method. Try out some of the ROMs available. I believe that will alleviate many of your issues since the stock ROM that came with these units have multiple issues. Many of them are the same ones you are experiencing. I wish you well and Read, Read, Read.
Good Luck

You should definitely read through the forums if you haven't so far. I have read/skimmed every thread here about our phone and I almost have no questions or concerns except for some ideas for a couple of issues that haven't been brought up yet or just not yet done.
I only use Sense Home or Dodol Launcher and they both don't have the option to sort by last used, check out Nova, Apex, or some other launcher.
As far as the update is concerned, you can follow this post by LarryBoyG, if you plan to stay on stock. I'm sure a custom ROM will be built that includes the update, unless everyone just wants to wait for Lollipop.
