Looks just the job. Can't wait to test it out in the Alps next week. Thanks for the link.

I downloaded the trial version which has all the features I am looking for. However, when I set it for the screen to go off, it just dims instead and will therefore be a big drain on power.
Do you know if there is a way to turn it right off while still having the GPS working?

Stocks monitoring software?

Can anyone recommend some good stocks monitoring software? Maybe with a Today plugin that will scroll the stocks and inform you if they are up or down?

In another life (wm2003se) I used to love Todayplus, found in this forum
http://forums.jhollin1138.com/index.php?topic=1712.0
It has a lot of variations and does have a stock monitor and automatic web-update option (among other things). There are weather-only versions, stock-only versions etc, if I remember rightly. I hear folks are using it for wm5 but I'm not sure. Someone with your know-how can modify it to suit your purpose and its free.

I've put together a website that will let you monitor your stocks or shares from any web browser:

By far the best I've tried is Magnifoca STQ (Stock Ticker and Quotes). I've been through just about every stock program available for the PPC. Some have very nice features, and in some cases MORE features than STQ. But for my money STQ delivers the best Today screen integration... with a scrolling stock ticker for cryin' out loud! It will set you back a tidy little sum at just under $30 US from Mobihand. Worth every penny if you're serious about tracking market and stock activity at a glance.

Yes, I believe it does although I don't use that feature. I've included a couple of screen shots from the "add new stocks" screen, including results from searches for the market index of the Stockholm Stock Exchange (OMXS30) and a stock from the Frankfurt exchange called LB BERLIN HOLDING (BEB3.F).

Yes, it updates automatically at whatever interval you set - manual, 15 min, 30 min, 1 hr, 2 hr, or 4 hr.

Zedge

You guys seen their new website? Much, much better! I actually like how it looks now. Check it out.
For those who don't know, not that there's many who don't, it's a site where you can get ringtones/wallpapers/etc. for your phone 100% free, no catch, no bs.
www.zedge.com
Can you tell me what is the point of visiting their website? If I want to download a wallpaper or ringtone, I'll just use their app, why care about what their website looks like?
Because there might be people that rather have a bookmarked site over an app
What do you mean? I still don't see the point of bookmarking or visiting their site.

is easier if you install their App from Market
then you can pick sounds / wallpapers directly from it, and sets it into the system settings
Yeah for sure the app is a really handy one. Use it all the time when i get bored, and there are no new roms to try out.

Completely agree, thanks for the post. I would much rather use my laptop to find what I want to download before I spend 2 hours searching the mobile app for it. Not all of us have blazing fast 4g!
I had a look at their website, you guys are right. It is much easier to browse through the website, however one thing I find strange, how come on their website they don't separate ringtone from notification sound?

Exactly! In the time it takes to view 1 page of wallpapers on the app you can view 4 on the website.

I'd imagine because on most phones it doesnt matter. I remember back when I had my Moto E816 I could only use certain file types for a ringtone/notification/alarm/etc., now you can use pretty much whatever you want.

They should add a remote install feature to the website, obviously requiring you to have the Zedge app installed on your phone. That would make it really worthwhile using the site over the app.
I do agree that the site is better for browsing, but the app sets things for you. We want the best of both worlds.

You mean something like the Market where you pick something you want to d/l and instead of downloading on your pc it automatically d/l's to your phone? That would be sweet!

Yes mate - exactly that and yes, it would be awesome. Google would be doing a great thing if they included something like authenticated remote installation in the Android framework. That would get used so much!

Sometimes there's an error retrieving the status of just a single country's status. Refreshing the whole thing just to refresh that seems like a burden on your server to me. Maybe have a little refresh icon next to each country in the list that refreshes the status only for that country? Just a suggestion.
Good job though, thanks!
Nice

This in nice.
Also a feature to add a number of seconds/minutes to automatically refresh. ( most of us know how to do it but a suggestion is a suggestion! )
Also a "notify me" when availiable thingy might be nice. Not with e-mails or anything like that....with rss or a sound maybe?
P.S. Saw this website 2-3 days ago. Love it

One thing that comes to mind is a direct link to the device in the Play Store. Or maybe it does this when one is actually in stock?
Thanks ! I just wish that it showed that the nexus was in stock. I now know that I can not buy it anywhere in the world.

There's already a mailer set up for 5 emails , but it uses php function's send() which works REALLY slow on my server and it would be useless with more than 10 emails. I'm looking for other solutions anyway. Thanks for the tip.

A direct link could be very easy to implement but useless as you need to be under the country's IP to view it, and relying on web proxy to link it seems not praticable to me.
EDIT: please advise this as Newsworthy thread (if you wish)!
Updated with "Sort by country" option : http://ludalex.soupwhale.com/n4checker/ - hope you'll find it useful.

Could you perhaps color the availability status? Green for In Stock and Red for Out of Stock?
Makes it easier to see when further away.
Thanks
EDIT: Perhaps you could create direct links to the Items as well.
Wow brother its nice, BTW when i clicks on main refresh button it shows me one result but when i click on specific country refresh button it shows me different result..why so ?
So does this auto refresh or is this just an easy way for us to click the refresh button and check?
Thanks, but how is this better than going to https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_4_16gb

It happens when you switch country/device too fast, not giving the time to the previous selection to load.

Its possible the phones will go on sale again by region Australia then Europe then USA /Canada based on timezones. In this case it would give some advanced warning.
Some people are trying to buy out with their own country this means they don't need to have proxy etc set up all the time.

Compass not calibrated?

I have a new Note 4 that i got on launch day and my compass goes crazy after a day after doing a battery pull. The battery pull fixes it, but not for long. Is there any way i can fix it or should i get a replacement? I hope this isnt a hardware issue... Any help? Thanks! It starts off fine. Then goes off by 120-180 degrees. Help.

Did you try turning the phone 360 to test the compass for all the directions, because mine works if i go south our west, but when i go north or east it goes crazy and jumps around and spins, it may be hardware issue, so I may replace it, please feel free to help or update on the problem for anybody other than me that has this. Thanks kietht!

Hmm that's interesting, because I too have noticed my compass acting a little strange. I was one of the people who received the Note 4 early via mail on the 13th so it's a device from the first 'litter.' I'm debating if I should trade it out for a new one....

Mine is working better now, maybe only 5-10 degrees off and no jitters, i would recommend turning off the phone, taking out the battery, putting the battery bacj in and restarting it, it seems the soft reset did it for me, some temp. Compass files may :laugh:have been messed up, just dont use gps status and toolbox unless its really messed up.
Cheers!

Like when you walk off and leave your phone and alarm sounds, or find my phone?, is there anything available?
