turning flight mode on/off with the wing - Wing, P4350 Herald Upgrading

hey. i have a wing, and was trying to turn on flight mode, but the option wasn't there. What i mean by that is when i had my mda, if you clicked the phone icon on the top bar it would give you the flight mode option (i.e on/off).. the wing doesn't have this.. where do i go change the flight mode, and is there a reg tweak that will give me the option to turn it on and off the way you can with the mda (the way i mentioned above).
Thanks,

Just go to the commmanager and there you can turn on/off flight mode. Don't know any reg tweaks for that...

Can not turn on Flight mode after upgrade

I just finished upgrading to the latest ROM by TuMa.
Everything went fine and the unit booted right up.
Problem is that I can't put the phone in Flight mode, it says that it is in Flight mode but the green light keeps flashing.
same problem for me. the shortcut "flight mode" in programms > tools works better for me.
What happens if you do a soft reset after the ROM upgrade has completed?
Yep, I have the same problem. And indeed the Flight Mode in the Tools menu works fine. I can live with that.
flight mode
Hi
I have the same problem. But I cannot find that "Tools-Flight mode"..
Any ideas - where can I get those Tools??
Thank you, Buum

[Q] Turn Off Airplane mode issue using hang-up long press button

Hi there,
When I use the long press hang up button option, It turns on air plane mode well by shutting down all wireless signals; but it won't turn them back on if I press and hold it once again: the gsm icone goes from an 'X' to an '!', but it won't connect to the network.
I have to manualy run the comm manager and hit the Airplane mode activation to get it to work.
Does anyone have the same issue? Any idea?
Thx
I also had the same problem, I just don't use it anymore - just use Comms and the options there

Thx: did you get your phone unlocked as I did? That could be the reason.
Anyone else with the same issue, or a solution?

have you tried turning off or unchecking the boxs in Settings>System>Battery?
yes i tried, but then the backlight won't turn off now for power savings when i am NOT making a call. Is there any option for not turning off the backlight or going into sleep mode only when i am making a call? thanks
install this...
tried but still not working, it will go into sleep mode after 5 seconds during the call but the call is still on.
thanks anyway
the problem is a known bug.
Try pressing the on/off button (top left) for just a second when ligth go off.
bye
what for you want to keep it alive?
Turning off during call
Go to Registry, then go to:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
Change the key "Sleep" value to 0

[Q] How do I turn airplane mode immediately upon power on?

I want to use my SGS (for games and movies) while flying.
When we board the plane, we are asked to turn off all electronic device. No problem
After reaching high altitude, we can now use electronic devices BUT must turn off data, wifi, and cell signal. This is where the problem occurs. After turning on the phone, the phone immediately searches for signal and I am unable to turn on airplane mode until about 30 seconds after the splash screen load up.
Is there any way to enable an option where as soon as we press power button (from when phone is off) we are giving a choice to turn on airplane mode or turn phone on to be use as a regular phone?
turn flight mode on before you turn off phone. it should start up with flight mode on. Also install one of them flight mode widgets from market. Quick and simple
Why not using a pincode?

Cool thanks! I didnt realize turning the phone off while it's on flightmode means it will retain flightmode status when power on again.
or just put flight mode on before you get on plane and ignore the fact its still on?
anyways, they say it only needs flight mode on, you need to turn them off.
You don't have to unlock your sim before using it ? Because what I do is instead of entering my pin I hold power button and set it to airplane
There is no danger of turning your phone on for 30 seconds on a Plane.
Just turn your phone on and switch to flight mode.
EDIT: If it is imperative that you start the phone in flight mode, take the SIM out.
