HELP: T-Mobile Wing can't answer phone when I slide keyboard in - Wing, P4350 Herald Upgrading

I don't know if there's a setting I missed or is this a major bug but if my phone's keyboard is slid out and my phone rings, I slide the keyboard in then wait for the phone to switch from landscape to portrait. Once it does what it does, I can no longer answer the call. I've tried hitting the "Answer" on the screen, the shortcut key assigned to it, and the green phone. I end up missing the call. Is this normal or is there a setting I can set?
Also, when I'm editing a contact and accidentally hit call, it will call the person first before I can cancel the call. I've repeatedly hit the red phone button and the "End Call" but it doesn't work until the call connects first. On all the previous phones I've ever owned and played with, I can cancel the call anytime before the call connects. Is this normal with this phone?

I thought that I remembered having the same thing happen, but in fact when I just tested I was able to slide the keyboard in and answer the call. There is just a little delay, but it did work for me after about 3 seconds. It even worked with 1 key press, and not repeatedly pressing the send key.

I think this is the same thing, just a little delay. I do this all the time and I just keep hitting end. It will always quit before it actually starts dialing.

Key lock not so good...

So the key lock on the T-mo wing locks the keys UNLESS there is an incoming call, this makes sense EXCEPT while trying to get it out of the holster. I either answer a call or hit the disconnect key which sends the call to voice mail because of the raised answer and disconnect keys. Anyone got any ideas on how to avoid this? There are some calls I don't want to 'automatically' answer or ignore...depending on which button gets pressed first while removing the phone from the holster. So far this has been my only major complaint after moving from the MDA to this unit.

Bluetooth handsfree voice dial

Hi:
I've been searching for info how to achieve the following, which I can't get done so far:
I have stereo bluetooth headphones with a mic. These are great for receiving calls, when you don't have the phone easily accessible, like in the car etc.
They have only two buttons, one is a two-way joystick for loudness. The other one is a receive/hangup button using which you can accept incoming calls.
What I'd like to do is to enable it to activate voice dial when I press it, to make a phone call.
So far I've only discovered that if I hold it depressed a long time, then the headset redials the last-dialed number.
In some instances after a call, when I've pressed the button, voice dial has come up and asked for the called id, however I cannot replicate this behavior, and it doesn't do it when the home screen is visible. Only I think after I've dialed from the headset, then hang up. Then at that screen press the button, but it's not stable.
So it seems though, to use the button to activate voice-dial is possible. I'd just like to set it up so that it works.
Anyone know how to?
Try holding one of the buttons
Depending on the BT adapter, you might have to hold down the receive/hangup button till you hear a confirming beep.
its usually a short press for voicedial a little longer press for redial last number. so try just doing short press insead of holding it down

loud tone when pressing call end button

or any on screen buttons in the HTC dialer. anyone know how to get rid of it? its supppper annoying
A little more information would be helpful -
1. does this tone happen when you press a button while on a call?
2. if it does - does your other party hear it or only you?
3. what buttons does it happen on touch screen buttons or only the buttons on the front of the phone?
4. is this when you have speaker phone on or a headset or simply using the phone?
5. is it only when you hang up or any button at any time while on a call?
6. do the buttons make normal sounds when you are NOT on a call?
7. have you turned off sound on your buttons - have you at least tried this to see if it kills the problem?
Bill
when in the dialer go Menu->Options then Keypad: Off
ahh keypad tones off got rid of the annoying beep lol thanks! wish there was a way i keep the beep for the numeric keypad without the obnoxious beep that came out of the speakerphone part rather than the ear piece when backspace/ call history/ speed dial is pressed
jut realized it still makes the annoying noise when it connects to a call
i found that someone had my exact problem on a wings smartphone. they edited the registires in order to turn it off. i played arround with mine all day but no luck. here is the thread if anyone can apply it to a kaiser id be very greatful!

Ringtone disappears when scroll wheel is moved?????

Hi All
I recently lost my ringtone and found a solution on here, so all is fine.....EXCEPT when the phone rings, the ringtone disappears when the scroll wheel (if that's what it's called) is moved.
Has anyone else come across this problem and if so found a fix???
The phone carries on ringing silently if I move the wheel, it's just the sound that disappears and that's obviously not very good if it's in my pocket!!
I've tried pressing all the other buttons when it's ringing to see if they make the sound disappear but they don't, it's only the wheel
Any one got any ideas????
Thanks
That's not a bug.
That's a feature...
My TyTN1 did that.
My P3600 did that.
My TyTN2 Does that.
It's the only way of making the phone go QUIET without canceling the call.
Quite usefull actually....
Honestly!!??
It's a feature??
How do I turn it off????
I like that feature very much, too. When someone calls and I don't want to talk to them I just hit the scroll wheel to silence the call but let it continue ringing for them. That way they don't know I'm ignoring them. I can plausibly be out of range of my phone or some other excuse. If you press the end key or hit "ignore" on the phone screen it sends the call immediately to voicemail and the person on the other line can tell they've been actively ignored...
I don't know if it's possible to turn it off.
ive always found it usefull. but sometimes it can be annoying as OP said when its in your pocket

The beginning of every sad story I've heard about screen cracks and phone damage, has always begun with , Well the phone was in my pocket and..............
When I pull my phone from it's padded holster I always look at the caller id first and do not wish to disturb other people while I decide. I appreciate the feature
I'm guessing it's a feature that can't be turned off then

problem with ignore/reject incoming call

Is there a way to simply REJECT incoming call (caller hears 'busy' signal when i press red button)?
For now there's no difference between pressing end call hardware button, 'igore' software button, mute ring button and flipping the phone. Every action just mute ring, but DO NOT REJECT.
And I want to REJECT caller, when i want him to know that his call is not welcome in that moment.
Thx for help or tips how to make it work
press the hangup key?
The End Call hardware button definitely rejects. Does it not?
End call hardware button = hangup key = definitely NOT or maybe it's a matter of setting which i don't know where to look ;(
OK, just tried. I called myself from a different phone. The moment I press the hardware button I hear the busy signal...
ok, i tried too from 2 other phones - no busy signal - after pressing hardware button cannot do anything on Diamond, until other caller hangs off.
The moment of hangin off is thee moment when today screen backs.
strange... - settings maybe????
**********
OK, GOT IT!
Problem is in settings -> Phone -> Band
When set to auto - problem occurs
When manually set network type
red button really rejects.
Problem solved
But I still wonder why
I have exactly the same behaviour with my Diamond on Orange Switzerland Network. Changing the band settings to manual solved the problem! thanks for the tip!
But I'm wondering why too... :-/
Does not work here. (o2, Germany). If I get a call and press the reject button on screen the caller hears the message that the number is not availbale instead of a bussy signal.
Has someone a solution please cause this behavour is very confusing for the caller.
Thank you!
Solved the problem
I have set the wrong voice box number Now if someone calls me and I reject the call using the reject button the caller gets routed to my voicebox...
thanks........
