Rom Update Failed - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Windows Mobile 6 Upgrading

Dear all,
I was trying to update my office Himalaya with Wm6 but after several attempts it will stop with Error 112: CE Update Data Error. It will stop at either 2% or 4%. Next I downloaded the mtty and did a "erase" command and immediately after that ran the update program and this time it stop update at 20%.
The real problem now is that after the last soft reset, the machine does not switch on, meaning that I cannot even get into bootloader mode. Is there any way around this problem? Thanks.
Regards,
Kueh.

Were you flashing from bootloader, or a running OS? You should do it from a bootloader...
How are you trying to enter bootloader mode? It's Power+DPad+Reset, hold for a second or two.

Hi,
The problem now is that I cannot get into the bootloader. There is no display on the screen. I even cannot switch on the device by pressing the power button or removing and reinserting the battery. Non of the know combination of buttons seems to work. No sign of booting and also check the battery with another working XDA II device and battery is good with 90% charge. Tried swapping in fully charged battery also did nothing to help.
What else can I do?
Regards,
Kueh

Well, this is normal, if you have erased your ROM.

OK, remove your battery for some time (several hours that is...) and try again.

Ok. Thanks.
I notice that in MTTY mode you can execute "task 28". What is the effect to doing that? Thanks.

Kueh.

Uhh... "task 28" is for formatting your DOC (disk-on-chip). You know... you can do quite a big damage with it

Remove the battery put it back hold the volume down button and turn your device on. now you should be in bootloader modus and now flash a shipped rom for your device.

Thanks guys
I can enter bootloader screen with usb at the bottom. But can not flash anything, it just sits at 0%. SPL is 1.54.
Do you have a file called blacimg.nbh on your sd-card? Obviously you can't check, so i would remove the sd-card as well and try again. If successful flash via uspl.
Thanks ATi75
I was already reading USPL and used it and voila. Its alive again. Nothing else worked. Now I will always use USPL.
Thanks again
Glad it worked out! Had a similar experience a few weeks back. Not something i want to experience again for a long while

Cry for help! D:

I tried to root my G1 from this link..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480
Made it through the first few steps well, until i finally began to upgrade the image dreaimg or w,e.. It failed on me & now i cannot leave the screen. I remove the battery & turn it on. but when i do it stays in the same spot.. I tried everything & need some help.. ]:
Here is a pic of the screen.. : http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/4355/picture001bk.jpg
Did it start updating, then stop in the middle of it? Did the phone turn off due to running out of battery during the flash? Did you format your card to FAT32, download the proper RC for the original sale location of your phone?
Try pulling the battery at, then removing your SD card, do a long format to FAT32 (whether it is or not) copy the dreamimg.nbh onto the SD card, put the SD card back in the phone, put the battery back in, put it on a charger not turned on for 30 minutes, then take it off the charger...
Now that you have done all that, try booting into boot loader again by holding down the camera and power button until it goes into that screen again and does it's thing.
If this doesn't work, well, good luck since I have no idea from there.
Yes i've tried all of that.. Once i remove my battery it turns on, but as soon as i put it on again it turns on & the same screen appears.. There nothing i can do to go back to the Home screen.. D':
I most likely made a mistake but now i cannot fix this! ]:

When does this screen appear? Instead of the G1 screen or after it? If after, hold down home+Power and get into recovery, try reflashing your rom.

If that is the only screen that ever shows up, you very well may be bricked, I hate to say it.
It really sounds like during your flashing of the .nbh file it was disrupted for one reason or another, either the battery died or it was a corrupted file, so the only file left on the phone is the boot loader. Thus, it is the only thing that will show...
Of course, I am not 100% positive without knowing exactly what you did, not being able to mess with the phone myself, and so forth.
Some people have been able to bring phones back from the dead by getting lucky and being able to get ADB to work... try plugging the phone into your computer using a data cable and see if you can get any sort of ADB to work, perhaps seeing if you can get the stock HTC update program to recognize the phone and hopefully flash it into working.

Agreed.
You should read up tutorials on ADB and see if you can use ADB to access your phone. If you can, your phone can still be recovered.
If not - then yeah, brick.

So you can go to download mode, but can't turn on the phone or go to recovery coz you only get the vibration, which suggest (ofc, lol) the phone won't even properly boot?
Everytime my battery is near zero and the phone shuts itself down and near total death, that's what happens. It just vibrates but nothing happen. IMHO, I don't think that you're facing bootloop or anything.
In your case, you said that you charged it and by the time you wakes up it's a goner. I would recommend trying a new battery for now. Your current one might be dead as in broken or something. Trying a new battery won't hurt.

I have the same problem, but a little different. I've thinked that was battery problem as you, i've bought a new battery, but nothing is changed. I was running JetMod. When my phone has low battery and than shut down i try to recharge it but doesn't work anything! if i try to turn it on it only vibrates (with black screen, nothing happened). The only thing that can i do is go to download mode, but for a few time becouse after 10 sec it shut down, so i think that it has not been charged.. I observe, when it was alive, when i try to charged it, that not many time he started recharging, i don't know why.. i've tried different plugs or with computer but it works only when it wants to..

I had same issue when i changed governor: cable plugged but battery don't charge ( i think )
Going to sleep, wake up and founded phone discharged.( when power up i had black screen and little vibration )
Remove battery, wait, insert battery, plug power cable, and wait if you see the battery logo charging.
Then Boot your phone.
If this not work ask to Samsung assistance

I don't know why, but i think is governor ( i use no frill cpu ), i tried some days ago to replicate the issue, changed governor to pegasusq , after some hours i plugged the power cable, but phone don't charge.( the power icon show me the battery in charge but % don't moving ).
Rolled to ondemand and interactive governer and problem go away.
I had only a good luck finding the solution.
This with cocore kernel 4.4 with 5 i haven't try... but is a very good kernel.

Problem on Charging the battery

Hello,
I faced a problem about 2 weeks ago till now.
It is When try to charging my HTC ONE, when the battery is about 90%, 90% to 100% gone very fast and the LED shows green. But when unplugged and plugged the charger again, percentage of battery dropped to about 90% - 91% and it charged fast to 100% again.
When I let its remain on green status and plugged, after about 10 minute, my device charged fully (I tested it again: first unplugged the charger then re-plugged. Battery status dropped to 99% and after 30 sec it shows fully charged)
What is the exact problem?
Thanks
You could try to calibrate it with app from play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ignisoft.battery.calibration

So I think you should go to check the device by HTC CARE Center
I wiped my cashe partition and after that I see the 99% till 96% again for example.
Also slightly lower discharing.
Instructions for the international unbranded version of the HTC One:
If he still has the same inconvenience after trying it several times, we also suggest him to perform a wipe cache partition. This process gets rid of all the temporary, unnecessary and junk data that slows down your phone and eventually causes to freeze or crash. It can also cause malfunction on the devices hardware such as the camera, internal memory or as it is in this situation the symbol described.
To do so please follow the steps bellow:
- Disable fast boot (Settings > Power > Fast Boot)
- Power off the device
- Press and Hold Volume Down while your device is off
- Briefly tap the Power button until Hboot appears (The white screen with three Android characters).
- Tap Volume Down to highlight recovery
- Tap the Power button
- When you see a screen with a red triangle and an exclamation point hold Volume Up
- Tap Power this will bring up the hidden recovery menu
- Tap Volume Down to highlight "Wipe cache Partition"
- Tap power to begin this process
- Once reboot system now appears tap Power.

that shows only when you booting into recovery. the only way is to flash stock recovery
Oh, well, it's good to know I'm not the only one with this issue.
However, why should I flash stock recovery? I mean, there are no further issues, the phone still charges while in this state, and I can reboot it with my PC. There is one thing I'm worried about;
What if I turn off USB debugging? If I would end up in the "stuck recovery" after I have done so, would I be unable to get out?
And also, I think there is a possible fix.. Wouldn't it be possible to reboot the phone by just pulling out the battery and turning the phone back on? Yes I know, "battery is not removable" but I'm pretty sure it is, it always is. It's not going to be easy tho.

i don't see why you have to switch off your phone. theres a lot of options in stock rom like "do not disturb", "airplane mode" etc so you don't have to switch off.
It seems this problem happens when you reboot your phone while charging ( i never had problems) try to avoid that.
ps - i never switch off my phone and only reboot it if needed or maybe once a month. But thats me.

I never turn my phone off, but sometimes I can't charge my phone in time and the battery runs dry. See? I can't reboot at 0%, so I have to charge it a little. Now you could tell me that it still isn't a problem, since the phone still charges in recovery and I can use commands to reboot system.. sure, but I'm working on a way to prevent anyone from entering recovery or using adb-debugging or hard resetting my phone (from a distance, if phone is stolen). This would turn off adb-debugging, causing the phone to be stuck in recovery for ever, if it were to charge in off mode. I guess I'm the only one having a problem with the bug

When charging while the device is turned off, it automatically boots into twrp. Does anyone have a solution? Are there other recoveries (except the stock recovery) which doesn't have this problem? Is it somehow possible to modify e.g. a file to have a nice charging animation instead?
It isn't that big issue, but it would be nice to solve this anyway...

I found that users phones and recovery gets different reactions.
When i tried cm12 i had that same "issue" but with cm13 i had the battery animation. Same thing with getting phone freeze when battery run out.
The best chance is to try different recovery versions and hope for the best.
That said, i only switch off phone when battery died on me.
im currently still with TWRP 2.7.1.0-20140802

I'll try to downgrade and see if my charging animation gets back ?
Try the new TWRP 3.0.2-0 from nightcore500. The freeze in charging only mode is fixed on his recovery
