I think something is wrong with teh D-Pad controls when keyboard is opened - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

when i open the keyboard and try to play a game (or even launch programs) in landscape left mode, usually up and down is now left and right and left and right is up and down. the only way to solve this problem is to remap the keys all weird, that is if the program lets you. mostly only emulators will let you remap the keys. Has anyone else experianced the same problem? im sure it's easy to fix.

I think it's intentional. That way up on the D-Pad it toward the top of the screen.

ok i know how to word what i was trying to say now.
on most games, there is a portrait mode and a landscape mode. well, in the landscape mode not only does it flip the screen, but remaps the controls for you. then when you slide out the keyboard it remaps the controls again, so now they have been remapped twice, causing it to not work correctly. get what i mean?

Yep, I understand now, but I don't know what to do about it. You have 2 rights making it wrong.

Any way to REALLY scroll with thumbwheel ?

Hi !
I'm looking for a way to scroll with the thumbwheel (right now it's just as pressing up/down which does different things depending on the app). I know it could be done, since we have the finger scrolling which works as a REAL scroll, so if moving the thumb down would act the same as finger scrolling for 1cm, for example, than it would be a real scroll.
BTW: as i'm typing this, i'm starting to program an app to do it, so if i don't find a solution, i'l make one myself... muahahaha(evil laugh)... of course i'll share it... free.
Please tell me if you know a solution, so i don't waste my nights programming (again).
Thanks,
RPG
i haven't been able to find a solution and I looked high to low. I think the wheel should be more like a page down than arrow down.
I have never understood why you can't get it to go vertically. It does it on the program and settings but not on the today screen.
I think you are onto something here.
I saw one of the button mapping programs that allowed you to assign screen actions to buttons, but I am not sure how well it would work. If it did, I would imagine it could be pretty quirky and not the most efficient way to do in things, since you be basically reinterpreting another event. Sounds like it might be useful, but I would suggest maybe providing the ability to to toggle between the normal behavior and the true scrolling by double clicking the jog wheel button.

Has anyone found a way to disable "align screen" for the kaiser?

when you press the IE button and the Center button it brings up the align screen. This is very annoying while playing games.
i know there has been some apps to disable this for other devices, but what about the kaiser?
you use the IE button while gaming?
no, I haven't found anything about it, but I'm sure that's a registry edit that can be done to stop it.
haha never noticed that, must be extremely annoying while gaming.
yeah when im playing emulators and i have my screen in portrait i usually use the start menu, the IE button, and the Left softkey as my 3 buttons. Then i use the D-pad, but sometimes while playing ill accidently hit the center key.

Mouse arrow type software on my Fuze

So I down loaded this:
http://www.innovisoft.com/virtuamouse/
Free trial, seems to work as stated. it gives you a mouse pointer that the direction keys control. But I got to thinking that the fuze has a touch sensitive control pad since Gscroll works with it. If one could get them both to work together (including double tap to open) you would have a regular laptop type touch pad control of the phone then. And control it one handed to do almost everything.
Is there a way to get Gscroll to work with this?
Looks good but there are two issues for Fuze users... #1, our directional pad is too low/flat for easy side to side scrolling. #2, the price for this program + Gscroll would be over $30.. lil steep for a virtual mouse.
Maybe someone thats handy at programming would take an interest in it. Doesnt look like much codewise, as both programs (mouse pointer and gscroll) are tiny bytewise. I wouldnt care if you had to swipe 2-3 times on the small Fuze touch pad to move the pointer across the device screen. At least you could do 99% of the control of your device one handed with a thumb then. Right now I have the mouse pointer set to my end call long key press to activate/deactivate it, and using the dpad buttons is a pain, along with having to press the center button as "click". Double tap and swipe on either side of the center button would be easy to control it.
I think, that it can be very useful with adjustable sensitivity. In comparison with Omnia/i780 touchpad,Raphael's space is much more bigger,so it couldn't be a problem. I am interesting too for kind tool.
I 've tried to make it work with Gscroll, but I had no luck...
Not only that, but it disables the gscroll functions...

How did you managed to change the functions of the Long Press End key, could you help me with that, please?

Home button

On my Fuze, I constantly hit the home button when trying to hit the left key, and is driving me nuts. Does anyone have any options for me to try? I'm even willing to disable the dang thing. Just don't know how.
I find very few reasons to hit the d pad keys, other than maybe up/down. Use your swipe gestures on the screen for left/right for most purposes... That's my best advice.
You can try G-Scroll, with that you just swipe you fingers on the touch panel at the bottom to move left, right, up, down and you can also launch apps
the problem is when I do have to use the d-pad. like a game that i'm playing "Peggle" it is very annoying when the game exits and I have to navigate to find the game shortcut, or use task manager. either way it happens all the time.
Can I use g-scroll in all applications?

I think, but I cost money
The Dpad is VERY annoying. My idea (which doesn't seem very popular) is to unmap the functions of the Home and Back button presses completely so they don't interfere with the dpad.
So we don't lose our Home and Back buttons, I suggested remapping the functions to the Home-HOLD and Back-HOLD functions.
This way the only time you actually would go home would be if you press and held the button for a second.
Unfortunately I don't think this is possible right now. The only way to remap the keys is via AEButtonPlus, which works but is clunky and has to run all the time. I'd much rather see a real remap
Or you can use DredSensor...

Capacitive Arrow keys

I still have problems with the "arrow keys" left and right (up and down working fine).
Is it possible to use the capacitive buttons for do this function. I know, there are programs like gscroll, but there are too much functions and this program is not working fine on my Touch Pro.
So very simple "double click" for left and right will help me and I have the feeling many other users of the TP.

theres a guide on here showing where exactly to press on the capacitative area to go left or right without pressing the other keys... you get used to it eventually. if not though, Gscroll works wonders man... ive disabled alot of the functions on it and just use it as a launcher and to scroll up/down/left/right.... really good man. have you tried the newest release. i reccomend it highly
theres software called dreadsensor i believe that disables the other functions of keys on left and right so for games its better

I have been trying this out. Works pretty good.
Try this: SensorScroll v0.6 beta
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466377
I download gscroll again, test it and buy it (Thanks to manoli20)
The problems, I had before with this software is the fact, that I use a branded TP from German Telekom (MDA Vario 4) and the capacitive keys (and the normal keys) for Telephone, Home and Back are different from the original TP.
So pressing the capacitive key, brings not the right reaction.
Thanks to all for the tipps.

any idea where that guide is to using the capacitive arrow keys?
I have almost thrown my phone out of my car window while speeding down the highway. MUCH TOO OFTEN i accidently execute the "hang up" button when trying to press RIGHT.
There has been nothing more frustrating than this experience ..

Dude , That should be in the wiki!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been trying to use GScroll for reliable d-pad functionality. I wish my phone came with the instructions in that video!
Thank you
