move phoneAlarm to bottom screen - Hima - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Windows Mobile 6 Upgrading

Help.. attached is my current Today screen..
i want to keep my Hima as content free as i can so i only installed SPB pocket plus 4, changed today theme with a full black one, and installed PhoneAlarm.. that's what i have right now.. I want to move the PhoneAlarm to the bottom most part of the screen where i also took out the screen rotate/power and wireless comm manager icons via reg hack.
can anyone please help? i tried using WAD but it's too big for me.. anyway i can just tweak the PhoneAlarm itself?
any ideas will be greatly appreciated... thanks in advance!

U have to edit ur Registery Settings For Ur today screen (i.e. their order numbers)..i think

There is a very good explanation on the PhoneAlarm website on how to edit your skin. That should do the trick.
There's also some old tiny today plugin (can't remember it's name, sorry) that adds just empty space between other today plugins.
success

AFAIR it's called "Spacer".

thanks for the replies! im in the office ryt now and i can't install spacer yet.. BUT.. if it's a plug-in, then it would do the same as adding a new plug-in to move it.. then a white scrollbar will come up on the right... RIGHT? (hope im wrong...) i'd try it.. anybody else got ideas? how about that registry mod thing.. any clue what key values i need to modify ?
thanks!

I'm sorry. I didn't know it was on Pocketmax, else I would have given you the link.
I advice everyone to always check the original writer's website for all your software, both for PC and PDA.
In general they give better support, more information, they like to be in touch with their users, comments and suggestions can improve a product in many ways. Most offer free beta's for serious testers, some offer free full products for beta testers and I've seen more than once that writers released their older products to the public domain while they're still on sale on the shopping cart sites.
And of course it's safer...
In most cases you can find a link to the writer's site in the About screen, the Help or a Readme. Or you can Google (sorry Google, I continue to use it as a verb)

I have the entire contents of the XDA 2i Alpine (PH10C) on my site, you can download it here. Please tell me if you find it useful.
Since a few people have downloaded it.... anyone have any idea which cab file is used to add the bloody annoying o2 active UI? i'm thinking one of the 2MB~ files....... man I hate that thing
v36024_install.ARM.CAB
v36024_install.ARM.CAB
This is evil... it's the o2 Active UI installer file.
When installing, just choose the "Corporate" option and use the password "0506" this will stop the O2 customisations (Ie it wont install that cab)

Hi Jayplucinski
Thanks for the timely posting
I'm a novice at the XDA2i, but curiostity has got the better of me and i would like to upgrade the features in extended ROM.
I'm currently doing the rounds of the various threads, working out how and what to do.
Do you have a breakdown on what each of the cabs do??
A location of or for useful cabs / exe's to install?? I think this would be a useful resource for upgraders like myself.
Thanks

I'm a novice too But some of the file names give things away a bit. Why not search for the filenames on google or on the forum itself? I'm sure that would weild a few results. But as you will see in my posts above.. I know which file installs the evil resource hog that is o2 Active UI
Hi Jayplucinski
Thanks anyway
Have noted the evil one!!

Hi jayplucinski, can you post me the Today Plug-in "Message".....Thanks !
Just to let y'all know
The file was deleted from my server about a week ago, after 800MB + of downloads, my provider was about to start charging me... so I had no choice The good news is, that I just FTP'd the file to XDA Developers And you can see it for download below If it starts to get a heavy load, i'll TRY and put it back on my site... but I'd need cash for that, of which I have none Donations please, JKS. Anyways enjoy.... again.
SNIP: It would have, but:

How modify HTC home (not Home plugin)?

I'm looking the way to modify the HTC home, not the HTC home plugin.
I tried to edit the registry but I don't have the string Tabsetting under HTC Home.
I wouldlike to remove the weather tab and to reduce the size of the clock.
Thanks
There is a little app that lets you do that written by emunutz that will do that here is a link.

Are you deaf, or just a little ignorent? The previous poster gave you the exact answer to your question...download the app, tweak the settings, and say "thank you my friends"!
The only other HTC Home plugin you might be referring to, is the small oneline todayplugin that can do almost nothing, and certainly doesn't feature any tabs.....so please; what are you jabbering about? (or be a little more exact as to what you mean)...thanks
where is the link just for the original HTC home plugin screen? when i get my kaiser id like to have it, then use this software as well. or does this software come with it?
is this it here:

or is there a better one someone could link me to?

Be quite and not be so offensive!!!!! I told that because i tried that program and i didn't obtain nothing. So, if you're so expert please can you tell me how to reduce the size of the clock with that program?!?!
Thanks
No, you cant change the clock size, because all the other tabs are using the same "height".
The only customizer is the one that has been described.
Other than that, there are several options for you:
1. Hack and create your own tool
2. Contact HTC and beg them to make such changes
3. Dont use HTC Home plugin
4. ...

Ok. Thank you very much for the correct (and quite) answer. Thanks
LOL! this is too funny. calling someone ignorant when he didnt say a thing to provoke it. he asked about customizing and to DECREASE the size of the clock. the link sent him to a program that yes can customize the tabs and the clock color/appearance. BUT it does not allow you to change the size. If he could create his own tool he would have done so. tough internet talk is played out. Im new here but not new to the world of ppc's and forum BS. save the tough **** for the street.
Ehm....my mistake...
But this quote seriously got me thinking that Mr DOC190401 didn't even quite look into to the solution offered, and mixing up two totally different today-plugins....

After reading this back today (and the reactions) i might have dimmed my tone a bit more....but after visiting this forum quite some time, it bugs me how many people don't actually read a thread, or do a search, or even want to try something out.... (aspecially since i asked the very same question (almost) just two threads down when you posted, where you also double-posted)
I for one have found that i could solve most of my issues here, without even asking something new.... just read carefully and try something before opening various new threads on the same topic.
Anyway.... sorry for being 'offensive' (as you called that)
No problem
First of all scuse me.
I just said what I said only because in that post I didn't found the solution to the problem of "big size clock". I did various search on this board about that problem without any solution.
So scuse for my tone.

Absolutely!!! You uncheck the HTC home plug in. Yes thats the only way to do it as of now. Someone is going to build a new plug in that doesnt have the clock in it.
Or...
You can get phoneAlarm and download the Mini Touch skin.
Don't forget to disable the HTC Home Today Plugin!
Works for me...
hooo yessss

Ok.Thanks. I'll try it

I wish I had a bigger clock. Just an extra 1 inch would be awesome.

@Joao; this is not a beta version but a trial.
lol so if you like it buy it . warez kills developers who spend hours developing on our behalf
There is a 15 day trial period and i have had it for 2 days. I like it. it is great for 1 touch voice dial or starting applications. Looks like i will buy it. it is only $15 bucks.
The only thing i want to know, is it can be executed by default instead of device comming up in the Today screen. I have the new ATT tilt (kaiser).

Mine works...
Since I have Touch Commander installed on my card, I edited FTouchFloConfig.txt (txt file is in \Program Files\FTouchFlo on the device, not the card) to read:
DownUpApp:\Storage Card\Program Files\TouchCommander\TouchCommander.exe
DownUpAppCmdLine:
Then, soft reset device. Launch FTouchFlo. Manually launch Touch Commander to clear screen that asks for registration number, e.g. use it as a trial. Close Touch Commander.
Now, to make it work, I very lightly slide my finger on the Today Screen from the bottom to about a half inch from the top.
The sensitivity may have to be adjusted if it can be. Practice until you are used to it.
If I could get it to perform more consistently, I think this it is a great program. For now, I have remapped my PTT button to launch Touch Commander.

if you modify the pages one at a time and copy the files-appinf1.0.0, contactinf1.0.0, quickcalltree1.0.0, settings and thumbnalinf1.0.0 to another location and sofreset the device. then copy these files back to the folder and restart the program. modify a different page and repeat. this has the program working with all mods you have done i.e. contact pages, program links (with names and icon)etc..

Where to put
Actually you can just put them anywhere but I suggest you extract them to your memory card. after that, just click on the executable file. Probably you were expecting that a link will be created on you group of programs but it But I guess it does not so you just have to create a link for that and place it in wherever you want to access it.

@chefs: reward offer for "task-snoozing"

Dear Chefs,
thank you for all great work you have done so far!
I use the Energy ROM for about two months and I'm stunned about all the great features he provide.
However, there is one thing I can't stand: The lack of appointment- and task snoozing other then 5 minutes. This makes the remind function almost useless.
My German t-mobile branded TP2 (called: MDA Vario V) came with the option to snooze appointments and tasks by a selectable time. So I could choose remind me in one or half Hour for example or one day and many other options, rather than dismiss it over and over again every 5 minutes. This is really bugging me.
I found a fix from crackwhore but it seems to be not compatible with the current windows mobile 6.5 ROMs.
Because it is so important to me and, as I noticed, to many, many others I want to post a reward and invite everybody who want this feature to join me by posting how much you are willing to donate to the person who find a solution and share it with the community
A proper solution would be a fix that works for the latest generation of WM6.5 ROMs and it would be great to have it already cooked into the popular ROMs, including Energy ROM.
So if somebody finds a solution, everybody who joined me is asked to donate the promised amount to the person who provided the solution.
I start off with a offer of 10$
Feel free to join me and make suggestion.
And please be true to your word: Don't offer something you are not willing to donate.
Current Offers (25.10.2009 01:25 UTC):
10 US-$
and
0 €
Why dont you ditch MS with another commercial application in the market? Couldn't you able to find one? I dont remember it but there was a program like this. Google it I suggest.
You can set the "reminder" time as any minutes/hours/days when you add an appointment. Am I missing something here?
NVM, I solved it! I was able to replace the new Notification.dll that handles the notification bubbles with an old, stock one. See the next post for the solution I made!
Question
Did your stock German ROM have the notification manager, where you'd click the taskbar, and it brings up that full screen? And also, did it have the skinned notifications, like the EnergyROM does? Please just describe exactly how the stock ROM handled the notifications, describe it visually.
Information
I researched this for 5 hours, and I was trying to do this: I wanted to make the Notification Panel remain (Full screen when you click on Taskbar), BUT, I wanted to use the standard Windows Mobile notification popups, because those allow you to snooze better. Well, that's not possible, from what I could tell. It's either all or nothing, you can't mix Microsoft's and HTC's notification system.
Solution
So, you have to disable the entire thing, which means you won't have the finger friendly notification system when tapping on the top taskbar. You can find the registry to disable Notification Manager here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4125405&postcount=3
Advanced Notifications Power Snooze Appointments!
I solved it!! It's CABbed up, and available on my website, Wingster.

And if you want to donate, then follow the link on the bottom of my Wingster website, or use this link: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=5401195
Maybe I should have waited longer, for the bounty to increase! Nah, I did this mostly for myself, but it did end up taking 5 hours! I hate registries!
How I Created It
I found the old NotificationLayout.dll, and used that one for handling the notification bubbles! This brings back the old WinMo notification style popups, but it also keeps the finger friendly notification panel! Win-win!
Imagine how fast the world is, I wish you could solve my break off with GF such a fast.
Have Fun, Cheers
Sunny

well well well......

FYI, crackwhore's is a better solution it doesn't eliminate the repeat function so what happens you get the alarm one time which was just as big a concern that I've had with some of the ROMs.

Lol dam. Wasted that effort for nothin? lol. Well we can add mine to the collection of CABs that do the exact same thing as the other
Hi,
sorry for the delay, but university was keeping me extremely busy this week.
However I'm glad you found a solution. It's so unimaginably convenient to be able to snooze the alarm!
However would it be possible to add some options? There is still room on the display for one option isn't it?
Very handy would be having options like four and twelve hours (half day).
I would rather surrender 10 minutes while already having 5 and 15 minutes.
(or maybe better: surrender 15 minutes while keeping 10)
However the current stage of development is already great and of cause I will stand my word of donating 10 bucks.
I invite everybody who like this fix to also support him since he was fair enough of not "waiting" for the bounty to increase first and he's doing a great job with his website anyway.
Best Regards, Time
PS: You are talking about other - already existing - solutions? I only found crackwhores fix and didn't get it to work. Well now I have a great one-click-solution I won't surrender ... would be just interesting to know.

Yea, flash the stock German ROM, and see how that operates. It'd be very interesting if they kept the advanced snooze options while keeping the slick notification style too.
I think that editing the DLL's is impossible though, but I guess it'd be worth a try. My initial goal was to keep the skinned notifications but add the snoozing. That'd be the optimal goal, and I will try to see if that can be done!

Yourestarted your phone after installing it, right? Maybe his ROM has some different notification system...I could try to look into it if you can confirm it still didn't take effect after a restart.

Yes I restarted the phone after installation but it didnt work
I would reeeeeally Appreciate it if you could look into it
You dont even need to make a .cab file, just give me some guidance on how to replace the .dll you mentioned in your post that worked

Well.....
First, download This File, unzip it, and place the DLL in the \Windows directory of your phone.
Now, here's where it may be different, apparently. Using a registry editor (like PHM Registry), try to find the string that is called CustomUIDLL and contains NotificationLayout.dll.
That string key should be located under HKLM/System/Shell/Notification/OEM, however since the CAB didn't work, Valkyrie must have changed the location of the registry key. See if you can find it. Once you do, change the string value to: "NotificationLayoutOld.dll"
Hopefully that'll get it working!

OK.
Under HKLM/System/Shell/Notification/OEM i have one folder named "reminder" and 3 other items named "default", " customUIDLL", and "userdefaultUI"
if i click on customUIDLL the string already reads "NotificationLayoutOld.dll" ( iguess from when I applied the .cab file) so there is nothing to change!
Also here is a screenshot of the contents in the HKLM/System/Shell/Notification/OEM/reminder folder that I mentioned above
should i be editing the autodismissextendedduration file?
BTW I forgot to mention that when i install the cab file instead of "snooze' at the bottom bar I get the "menu' on the right and also another symbol on the left (like a phone with an 'x' next to it" but if i click on any of them the notification goes away and does not come back
So in essence the .cab works (because it points it to something else) but the location it point to, doesnt contain the necessary file to show up when you click on the the "menu' icon or the other icon that comes up SORRY I DIDNT MENTION THAT EARLIER BUT I WASNT AWARE OF IT TILL NOW.....
