Alarm when switched off - HTC Wings

Hello,
I'm going to be an s730 owner but I have a question; I want to switch off the device every night in order to save battery energy and not to bother me with incoming calls. But I also want to use it as an alarm clock. As I read somewhere, windows mobile devices can't use alarm clocks when they are switch off, right? If so, what's the solution to that?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, it's correct. When phone is switched off, it's dead. You can save battery overnight turning on flight mode..

Don't Forget has an option to switch modes at specified times, so you could get your phone to be in Flight mode overnight and still have the alarm sound.

Thanx for your information, guys!

Automatic power up (wake??) for alarm function

Hi all,
Is it at all possible to cofigure the Diamond to wake up automatically from the 'Shut Down' condition. I sometimes need to be able to shut down my device overnight for battery reasons, but if i do so the alarm doesn't go off in the morning (until i manually switch the phone on), which is quite a big annoyance to me. My previous phone a Sony Ericsson had this functionality but it never crossed my mind that the Diamond might not.
I've noticed that on some of the config tools about there are settings for wake on new SMS so would i be right to think that it is possible???
For Information i am using the Klaxon alarm program.
I really hope this is possible!!!!
Thanks
Steve
When you switch the phone off, it actually turns completely off. This means no applications are running at all. It's just like if you switch a PC off, the entire operating system is off.
If you want to save battery power, I suggest you just switch Flight Mode on, this will conserve the battery for more than long enough.
That's what i thought, feared. Flight mode it is then.
Thanks
PhoneAlarm from PocketMax software is doing this
I don't think the phone is ever "completely" off, as the internal clock is still ticking so that the time is correct when you power your phone back on
Ive always loved Nokias for that reason, as they switch the phone on for alarm, and from silent profile etc...
Im sure if Nokia could do it, they shouldnt be any reason why Windows mobile device couldnt
Phone alarm can't turn the device on from a powered off state (as stated due to windows mobile) but it has options for "wake" on alarm and you can schedule a profile that will automatically put it in flight mode during certain hours.
Why not just plug it in while you sleep? That's the only time I charge my Diamond unless it's a heavy use day.

Automatically turn off during the night

Hello
The battery life of the HTC Touch Diamond is quite short. I want the phone to automatically turn off at night, because I don't use it.
So I want it to automatically turn off and then on at specific times.
Is there any way to do this?
Turning it off shouldn't be a problem. Turning it on is harder.
Thanx.
maybe you can just plug in the charger at night? then you can have full battery in the morning and people can still call if there is an emergancy.
It will not be possible to turn on the phone automatically, unless you make some kind of external device that will push the button for you?
SKSchema or PhoneWeaver can do this, but both are not freeware.
SKschema use scripts and you can do a lot of things like a softreset every day etc. etc., also turn off and turn on phone.
PhoneWeaver is a phone profile software, which use manual and/or time scheduled profiles.
Maybe there some similar software also as freeware, but I don't know, because of using these two above.
Im sure once the phone is off there is no way of turning it back on unless by physical input. Once the phone is off ALL processes die.
I used to use this freeware application on my Trinity with WM6.1

I haven't tested on Diamond but I would imagine the function to switch on/off phone should still work. Highly unlikely the notification settings will function though.
i tried SPB Phone Suite to switch profiles but that didn't work too well
It's best to just remember to do it... cos the battery really drains if it stays on all night... mine went from full at 1:30 am to +/- 20% this morning (10:00) with minimum backlight on all night, and GSM phone on... bad, i know

Why do you leave the backlight on?!
If you let your phone go in the sleep mode it will only uses 12mA.
It will only use 10% per night (if you sleep 7,5h).
TDO
what he said
other than that, charge at night?
Try this :

It doesn't really switch off your phone but places it into flight mode. When I use this, my battery will only get discharged by 0-1% in the morning.
Cannot Sleep ??

[ISSUE] Alarm clock won't wake you up after switching to emergency mode and back

As I played with the phone, I checked what is emergency mode. So I switched it on, saw the time left (about 11 days @90% battery), and then switched this mode off. This morning I only woke up cause my oldie S2 without a SIM still had some battery percents and the alarm clocked still worked =) So beware.
In ultra power saving mode on my phone when I turned it on my alarm never went off but I have more than one set and I checked the time on my phone to see the first alarm never went off but it seemed after waking the phone up even after turning the screen off again the alarm went off....

I've experienced this by simply restarting the phone. After a reset the alarm doesn't alarm even with the alarm toggled on. I have to toggle it off then on.

Ugh.. =( Seems like everything is done from scratch. Some things that worked perfectly before, now fall back into "childhood"...

[Q] s3 mini alarm clock not going off

hi, i have an s3 mini running cm11 right now. my alarm never goes off on a morning when i set it the night before. i use neon alarm clock to wake me up but i beleive it has something to do with my cpu going into deep sleep mode. theres also an issue where when i check the phones time on a morning it remains frozen. the only way i can get around it is when i leave the phone plugged in all night and sometimes thats not possible because i need to charge my tab.
is there a way i can get my cpu to remain alive all the time ....i dont mind taking a bit of battery drain once the alarm clock and time is functional on a morning. ...the help would be greatly appreciated...

[Q] auto airplane mode

Hi..
is there a way to automate airplane mode on our watch between 9pm until 6am ?
Are you wanting your phone to be airplane mode or just your watch?
I use Sony Smart Connect for my phone. No idea if it could handle an action on the watch...

just my watch ... the idea is to conserve battery usage at night ..
You could use tasker like i have to switch the screen to off(on the watch) and then switch Bluetooth of from the time you require until a set time in the morning that will turn Bluetooth back on and screen back to always on.

I've consider that .. but although turning-off bluetooth in the phone will stop notification, it'll actually drain the watch because it'll keep trying to connect to the phone ..

Don't bother. You won't gain mych by enabling Airplane mode. What drains battery most is the display (of course depending heavily on your watchface - my ambient mode has just 2 lines of very thin and small text, and it drains next to nothing).
I think what you're looking for is the Cinema mode - just tap the crown twice before going to bed, and twice after you wake up.
Sadly, this mode is incompatible with alarms (on watch) since they are completely silenced as well (including vibrations), but if you use alarm on the phone then you're fine.
... Or you could just disable ambient mode every night, but that's inconvenient.
