[ISSUE] Alarm clock won't wake you up after switching to emergency mode and back - Galaxy S 5 General

As I played with the phone, I checked what is emergency mode. So I switched it on, saw the time left (about 11 days @90% battery), and then switched this mode off. This morning I only woke up cause my oldie S2 without a SIM still had some battery percents and the alarm clocked still worked =) So beware.

In ultra power saving mode on my phone when I turned it on my alarm never went off but I have more than one set and I checked the time on my phone to see the first alarm never went off but it seemed after waking the phone up even after turning the screen off again the alarm went off....

I've experienced this by simply restarting the phone. After a reset the alarm doesn't alarm even with the alarm toggled on. I have to toggle it off then on.

Ugh.. =( Seems like everything is done from scratch. Some things that worked perfectly before, now fall back into "childhood"...

Alarm when switched off

Hello,
I'm going to be an s730 owner but I have a question; I want to switch off the device every night in order to save battery energy and not to bother me with incoming calls. But I also want to use it as an alarm clock. As I read somewhere, windows mobile devices can't use alarm clocks when they are switch off, right? If so, what's the solution to that?
Thanks in advance.
Yeah, it's correct. When phone is switched off, it's dead. You can save battery overnight turning on flight mode..
Don't Forget has an option to switch modes at specified times, so you could get your phone to be in Flight mode overnight and still have the alarm sound.

Thanx for your information, guys!

Automatic power up (wake??) for alarm function

Hi all,
Is it at all possible to cofigure the Diamond to wake up automatically from the 'Shut Down' condition. I sometimes need to be able to shut down my device overnight for battery reasons, but if i do so the alarm doesn't go off in the morning (until i manually switch the phone on), which is quite a big annoyance to me. My previous phone a Sony Ericsson had this functionality but it never crossed my mind that the Diamond might not.
I've noticed that on some of the config tools about there are settings for wake on new SMS so would i be right to think that it is possible???
For Information i am using the Klaxon alarm program.
I really hope this is possible!!!!
Thanks
Steve
When you switch the phone off, it actually turns completely off. This means no applications are running at all. It's just like if you switch a PC off, the entire operating system is off.
If you want to save battery power, I suggest you just switch Flight Mode on, this will conserve the battery for more than long enough.
That's what i thought, feared. Flight mode it is then.
Thanks
PhoneAlarm from PocketMax software is doing this
I don't think the phone is ever "completely" off, as the internal clock is still ticking so that the time is correct when you power your phone back on
Ive always loved Nokias for that reason, as they switch the phone on for alarm, and from silent profile etc...
Im sure if Nokia could do it, they shouldnt be any reason why Windows mobile device couldnt
Phone alarm can't turn the device on from a powered off state (as stated due to windows mobile) but it has options for "wake" on alarm and you can schedule a profile that will automatically put it in flight mode during certain hours.
Why not just plug it in while you sleep? That's the only time I charge my Diamond unless it's a heavy use day.

[APP][MUST ADD2ROMS] NoMoarPowah!

repost kinda sure but in case you didnt see
NoMoarPowah!
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/replace-your-samsung-devices-charging-screen-with-nomoarpowah/
i just tested and confirmed it works. now heres my question, WHY THE HELL AINT THIS BUILT INTO AND THEMED FOR OUR FRIGGIN ROMS"?
this is awesome, in case you didnt know the phone charges faster while OFF. this changes the OFF charging screen and also has a settings app with the options to:shut down charge to 100 and reboot, or charge to 15% and reboot
shut down and charge, reboot at a certain time or 5 minutes before the system alarm time~!
note yes the free version is ad supported (in settings not charging screen!) and yes adblocking DOES work.. so.. FREE.
or make our own "based on the idea" and custom theme it for each rom. the charging screen could use visual improvement for sure but the options are great.
I came across this a cpl a days ago but didn't knew if it would work on the cappy, so thx for confirming
I started using this and noticed that when I set a time for my phone to wake up, it would stop charging. I woke up to it at 70%. Just wondering if anyone had experienced something similar.
Used it last night and it woke up just before the alarm. Only thing is that is notifies me about the emails overnight just before the alarm. Which stands to reason...emails collect overnight, phone is off...phone turns on and goes nuts with the notifications. Phone was charged to 100%, but I was woken up just before the alarm with a blast of email notifications.

[Q] Airplane Mode turning on by itself after phone is shut down for a while

Been trying to find another thread with this issue, but others seem to have a problem where the airplane mode turns itself on while the phone is already on - not the same problem I have.
So right now, I'm using my HTC DZ while prepping my O2X for a potential sale unless the SU660 sources drop in time.
For about 3 weeks my O2X was powered off and kept away.
I decided to turn it on for some testing and put my SIM card inside. When I booted up the phone, the airplane mode was stuck on. I tried to toggle it off, and it didn't go off after 5 seconds, so I tried rebooting. No dice.
Then I tried booting up the O2X without a SIM inside - the airplane mode showed as being off. So I put back the SIM, and booted it up - airplane mode turned itself on again!
Finally, I was able to turn off the airplane mode by going to the Settings-> Wireless and Networks screen, and staring at the screen for about 90 seconds while the "Turning off..." message took its own sweet time. If I left this screen, or put the phone back to sleep, while the airplane mode was trying to turn off, then it would never turn off. It also would not turn off if I tried to use a widget, or if I tried using the toggle from the menu that appears from holding down the power button.
Now, what's scary is that this is not an isolated case.
After restoring network functionality, I decided try manually turning on the airplane mode. It turned on instantly. When I tried to turn it off, the airplane mode again took roughly 90 seconds to turn off - and I had to leave it in the settings screen to do so.
Later on, I powered off the O2X, left it for about 3 hours, and then powered it on with the SIM inside. Again, the airplane mode turned itself on - and took forever to turn off.
In all test cases, the battery was at least 70% full. This can't be proper behavior, since my considerably less powerful DZ is able to turn off airplane mode in less than 5 seconds.
Anyone else have such a problem? I am using CM7.2 stable with the Etana kernel if that helps. I also used GetRIL and APN Manager when I first got the phone to ensure baseband and RIL matched.

Hmm, I tried this after leaving the phone off for about 1 hour and it managed to boot without turning on airplane mode. Seems to work for now.
Thanks for the heads-up. Hope I wasn't just lucky. I'll be testing it again overnight to be sure

Seven hours later - your solution holds up. Also, manually toggling the airplane mode on and off now takes a few seconds at most, like it should be

[Q] s3 mini alarm clock not going off

hi, i have an s3 mini running cm11 right now. my alarm never goes off on a morning when i set it the night before. i use neon alarm clock to wake me up but i beleive it has something to do with my cpu going into deep sleep mode. theres also an issue where when i check the phones time on a morning it remains frozen. the only way i can get around it is when i leave the phone plugged in all night and sometimes thats not possible because i need to charge my tab.
is there a way i can get my cpu to remain alive all the time ....i dont mind taking a bit of battery drain once the alarm clock and time is functional on a morning. ...the help would be greatly appreciated...
