Great point. But it really sucks that we have to wait till March!!! I wish it was by January at max.
But if HTC has solved this problem why would they not release a ROM Upgrade for the current TyTn II users. ROM's with bug fixes have been fairly common in the past. As I understand the driver issue is a software issue and not a hardware issue. Experts!! I am correct??

not just that, but assuming qualcomm's current legal and shortage of chips troubles, whats the odds that the new TyTn (as the OP was stating) will be using a qualcomm chip? This seems very unlikely. So really the driver issue HASN'T been fixed, since we can be 99% sure that the new chipsets will not be from qualcomm.
I think we are unnecessarily torturing somebody who wanted to give us some good news. Upgrades of software usually are released to fix multiple small problems all in one, not piecemeal. If the brother of laughoutloud were to release the code, he could lose his job as well! Let's wait and hold for some good things to come in 08, if everything gets released right away, then what is there for our phones to look forward to?
Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear... the proof is in the pudding. I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, keep the pressure on.

the only way to know if it is or not a fake is if he posts the driver on the forum and we test it.. but for now.. for mi is a fake..
even if it was real, they cant just go behind the company's back and post up the driver before it's schedule release date. serious fines and penalties.

Hi all, i'm a noob here and would firstly like to say hi to everyone and well done to all concerned for the content and information found here... I have had my phone for less than a week and already it has been flashed with a new ROM
I have read with interest numerous threads and petitions about the HTC graphics problems. I read something earlier where someone said they had contacted HTC about this issue and pointed HTC to this forum (as I am sure alot of people have done). My question is as follows.....If HTC decide to come on here and look at the site to gather information/have a look at what people are saying about the graphics issue...what do you think they make of all the threads containing their software that is freely available for download?
I would be concerned that they may a little upset and try to force the software to be taken off??? Maybe I am missing something and the software is freeware but I doubt it very much.
I suppose my question could extend to things like ROMS etc with other mnfrs software on it also.
Anyway apologies if this is a somewhat random post but I was just wondering...and before anyone asks...NO I AM NOT AN HTC EMPLOYEE Or do I wish to cause any friction.

Yes welcome HTC! If you would make your Products perform properly right out of the box I wouldnt have to spend hour on hour cooking new ROM's or extracting apps from one device to port to another. Maybe one day you will wake up and see that you could be the best PDA provider out there if it not for one small issue! You leave us hanging on important things and leave it up to us to fix your mistakes so please HTC get your sh*t together and blow my mind with the next device!

They don't think you're from HTC. They said they'd welcome HTC to come in and see everything you're talking about and seeing that they're phones would sell alot better if they implemented alot of the stuff we're doing ourselves afterwards.
they allready visit the forum and they are aware of what we do and use...

It's not only bug fixes from guys like you faria but the forum also provides a completely cost free customer survey/opinion base of product performance, enhancements and application inclusions.
Up until now though, I don't think they have had enough incentive to fix past issues because they thought the complaints were not serious enough to effect future sales.
They definately have reason to worry this time....
For me, if they ignore us and don't fix any of the issues our phones are plagued by, then im not even gonna sell this phone when it comes time. ill throw it away and buy a damn blackjack or eten

IMO - Having switched from an Eten x500 to the TYTN II/Kaiser I personally would not recommend it over a Kaiser. My experiences of it in a year of use how been far exceeded by 1 week of use with my TYTN II.

His code won't work for your phone. Each phone has an individual code. At&t has them for their branded phones. It's related to your IMEI. You'll have to get it another way. Maybe buy it from them?

the update will improve the graphics issue. The odd thing is, I haven't found it on htcclassaction yet (maybe they haven't updated it, but I thought they would have, considering that they've put a lot of effort into the drivers-issue). yeah this has been circulating for a little while now. There is a release due from what i can gather, i cant see it including the updated drivers as they have been too busy with the diamond but it is always nice to hope. Personally i dont believe it but im happy to be suprised if HTC want to do that

The AT&T Tilt did not recievve a ROM update today. This means no accelerated graphics for us and no WM 6.1. Thank you HTC and AT&T you have all been a big help.

Old news ! Not nice to start a " new " thread for something we had not expected anyway.
Yeah, I know its old news. But even so, a large amount of people do not know this, so its still worth posting.
Do you realize what board you're on? Don't generalize, you have been left behind, not me. I've been running WM6.1 on my Tilt since the winter when it first leaked and have been running the lasted build since Monday.

Everyone here knows this and it is not worth posting as you will find out.
No, I have browsed through some threads and it seemed that a decent amount of people had not realized that only the HTC-Branded devices had recieved the update.
People who read stuff already knew for like a month that the update would probably be only for HTC branded devices, I guess you don't.
Anyways, it doesn't mean there won't be official updates for you, just that your company, whichever it is, will have to customize things first before releasing a rom, especially adding all their bloatware.
Oh, and about accelerated graphics, please, noone got them, it's not that you're a special target.
I know that there were some "fixes" but no drivers, and it has been said that ATT users will get it, just when they get ready to release it after adding all their crap.

I am here to help , what was the question ? I just heard a rant that the mods have said ( continually ) is not appropriate for these forums. If you read the official announcement from HTC when they announced the TYtN upgrade, they said that they had no plans to release an upgrade fer the Tilt in the near future. Why is this rant important to this forum?

I am not trying to entice the argument here, but i will add couple of things:
a) Most of the "regular" members here at xda already know that the tilt or any other branded version of the tytnII will not be getting the updates. (emphasis on regular).
b) none of the xda members really care about official updates as we have very gifted and talented chefs here that can port roms for us (and we are truly greatful for that) and seeing that the only diffrence between the TytnII and tilt is the front camera that shouldn't be a big deal.
c) drivers (which there aren't none) can also be ported. There are chefs already working on porting the diamond drivers over to tilt which runs vga.
Having said that i would like to thank you for the info ... but unfortunately its old news and no one likes repeatedly hearing old news.

I very nearly downloaded this one by mistake. I registered with htc but my phone S/N is not a real HTC device and was still logged in, but I managed to (mistakenly) download the file from that link without much issue.

I don't know who you spoke with but they were wrong; I just ran the HTC RUU (Rom Upgrade Utility) from the HTC e-club web site and the splash screen clearly states Windows Mobile 6.1. I have an HTC TYTN II and it works great.

The thing that puzzles me about this is the way the AT&T Tilt gets singled out as if it's special - in reality it's just one dozens of rebranded Kaisers around the globe, none of which have had an official update. I have a "Vodafone V1615", am I whining about where to download a Vodafone update for my Vodafone V1615? No, of course not, with the help of this forum it's been running the original HTC rom since October, and upgraded to the HTC 6.1 update a couple of days ago (before it was released by HTC in fact). So what's the problem?
The irony is the AT&T Tilt is (I believe) the only variant to have it's own section of the HTC website, and to actually have already had a rom upgrade back in February, albeit 6.0 only. Where are all the complaints about that from owners of the V1615, or the T-Mobile Vario 3, or the Orange Tytn II, or O2 XDA Stellar, or the "3" Tytn II, etc etc..?
I had many devices from HTC in my live and i was really happy with it. Now i have expensive HTC Kaiser. When i bought it, was slowly so i gave chance HTC to change it. I checked the HTC e-club every day few times. It was hard, wait long time for new ROM for my Kaiser which should solve "most issues". Now new ROM is available to downoload in official HTC site like you know. I flashed it in first day when was available and what i can sat about it?
...It is my last device from HTC corporation.
Now i have little faster Kaiser then before flashing and threaded SMS. That is all. Even HTC Home and Camera software has old version. It it no longer this same corporation who created HIMALAYA or WIZARD.
I feel really disapoited when i can see my friend with much cheaper HTC Magician who can watch movie without any cuts and use TomTom with animated graphics, not slideshows.
I have hope that it is begin of end HTC Corporation and nobody more will be dispaointed by this company.
So... if you want buy some new devices from HTC corporation (Diamond, Raphael etc.) be careful beacuse this company really deceives their customers and you can get device with digitalizer problem, leak of graphic driver or some other/new isuues which we don't know yet and probably there will be no real solution for it.
So. I will wait for next epizode of this comedy "How HTC deceives customers" but no longer such actor but such a spectator.

With all that is going on with HTC and MS, I still fill my Tilt is exactly what I paid for! I'm going to patiently wait and see what AT&T will do if and when an updated ROM is released and move on from there.

if course, especially if "the nukey kaiser" is used along with the GPS to ensure that the helicopter/s is well positioned above HTC R&D building and ofcourse using MMS to message everyone in the building to leave.... A-GPS added so the target is at only @1m accurate...
what else??? ... just nuke them!!! at least we know that no update will never come..
