Can I make the BB server think I am a different device? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I want to use BB connect to get my email/etc pushed to my Kaiser. I set it up fine, but got a call from TechSupport saying only the BB 8700c is allowed after it reported back to them that I was using a Kaiser.
Anyone know a way to fake out the BB push server to make it think I am using a 8700c and not the Kaiser?
Thanks!~

That's nonsense. I'm using a Tilt on the Blackberry Enterprise Server. Maybe the aren't aware that the Tilt has BB service?
Anyway, try downloading the BB connect desktop software. From there you can configure your device automatically to connect.

that's not the issue.
To the OP,
do you have BlackBerry Connect? Or BlackBerry Connect with PDA Connect?
Because if you just have Blackberry Connect, AT&T's Policies say that you must have the PDA Connect and Blackberry Connect package to use the blackberry on a non RIM device. I know it's stupid. I know just using Blackberry Connect will work ( I'm doing it too ). But it's AT&T's policies.
Also, re-check your OLAM and see if they removed or added any feature after calling you. Sometimes the system will red-flag and attach the pda connect feature. If you got a call just by using it, not by calling, then your account was most likely flagged by the system.

I think he has BB Connect and it works fine for him, but his corp is telling him to use only the corp issued BB 8700c.
I'd like to figure this out as well.

Even if you manage to "cloak" your device now, I'm pretty sure your IMEI gets sent along with the rest of your device information.
If you suddenly start using a "Blackberry 8700c" with the same IMEI as your Kaiser, they may smell a rat (of course, they may never notice).

I have a similar issue. I cant use 3 live stream because my device is identyfied as a tytn and not as a nokia crap phone... anyone had luck in changing id in explorer?

I think there's a reason if your corp admin only allow genuine Blackberry devices.
Ie. even if you get the Blackberry connect, your Kaiser won't be able to remotely wipe itself in case you loose it ...
(so that make perfect sense to me)

Yes, I created a cab file to identify my phone as an N95 so that I could use Vodafone Live. Someone on the Modaco forum mentioned that it also worked for "3", though I can't confirm that myself.
Here's a copy. You can install it to identify the phone as an N95, and uninstall it to go back to normal...
Should also mention that for Vodafone Live, you have to be connected via the "Contract WAP" connection. Vodafone Live wont let you in if you're connected with the "Contract Internet" connection, I have no idea whether "3" do something similar though?

Hey
Great - THX. I will subscribe to 3tv next week and see if this fine piece make it all the way. Will be back with experience as this could be quite a solution for all 3 Mobile users...

Interesting sub69...I was wondering myself if this is possible. Do you know how people could identify their PDA's as other phone models so as to try and by-pass operator service restrictions? I'm hoping to identify my Kaiser as either a Sony Ericsson K790 or LG TU720 Shine.

First you have to find the user agent string for the device you want your Kaiser to be identified as (I have an N95, so I used it to go to www.useragentstring.com).
Then you need to hex edit your Kaiser's "browser.dll" file (which you'll find in the \Windows folder). You need to search within "browser.dll" for the Kaiser's original user agent string, and then overwrite it with the one of your choice.
Edit the regirsty at: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Internet Explorer\User Agent] so that that shows the new string too.
Save the new "browser.dll" file to \Windows (overwriting the old one) and soft reset. Then when you go to www.useragentstring.com, you should see that your Kaiser is identifying itself as something else.
If you want to go back to normal, you can delete the new "browser.dll" from \Windows, and the original one will handily reappear, as it's stored in the ROM.

Thanks sub69! I'll give it a shot...I'm trying to gain access to some of my carrier's services that they don't off to WM devices.

Hello all,
I installed the CAB on my Kaiser and it works great. Thanks for this post. I have T-Mobile Mobile TV in the Netherlands.
I first called the helpdesk and they told me my phone is not compatible with the service.........
This is the links to the T-Mobile Mobile TV Website:
http://t-mobile.nob.nl
[Edit]
I tested to open the link directly without the CAB installed and with the default User Agent String and it works fine.

Hi,
Is it possible for some one to make a cab file that would identify my Kaiser WM6.1 as the 3 Skypephone or INQ handset?
Thanks

There is a Wiki here, maybe somebody update it if applicable.
An updated list of mobile User-Agents

great cab file. it actually wotks with coreplayer.

Trying to get Vodaphone Live to work on HTC branded TytnII

Hi guys - need some help.
Been following the guide on how to get Vodaphone Live to work on the HTC branded TytnII.
Done the registry editor changes to it now appears to be an Nokia N95... but every time I try to copy the Browsers.dll file across to the windows directory I get a write permissions error.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Tony
Try using Resco Explorer or Total Commander to copy "browser.dll" to \Windows...
I think the built-in file explorer will give you an error, but those two should allow you to copy it over.

Hiya this is the guide I used:
http://www.modaco.com/Vodafone-Live-Settings-t259142.html
I tried the settings in the thread Wise1 gave but it didn't work. Has anyone got vodafone live to work on the TyTnII?
Use the cab in here...
It uses the same browser.dll and reg settings as mentioned in the guide, but only takes two seconds (and a soft reset).
Oh, and always remember that you have to connect to the internet via the *WAP* settings before you can get on to Vodafone Live! - you'll get an error if you're connected via the "Internet" settings.
Enjoy!
It Worked!!!!
Thanks Sub69 it worked. I had spent hours trying to get Mobile TV.
Just thought I'd add one note though for those people that download the cab and then expend the Internet browser to work.
Once you have installed the cab go to START, Settings, Connections, then click on Connections icon. Click on Advanced and Select Networks. On programs that automatically connect to the Internet, select Contract WAP from the dropdown menu.
Next goto Internet Exployer and type http://live.vodafone.net. It should then work.
p.s. turn off WiFi as this will stop internet streaming on vodafone live
Thank you for this...
This worked perfectly for me, although I had to enter wsp://live.vodafone.com before it loaded the vodafone live! homepage (http:// at the start didn't work).
Amazing isn't it how Vodafone happily sell Windows Mobile devices but don't support them with Vodafone live and Pocket IE!
Personally, I use: http://live.vodafone.co.uk but as long as it all works, that's the main thing!
And yes, you must be connected via the *WAP* settings otherwise you get a "service is not responding at this time" error.
Bit of a pain that - I've tried all sorts of fiddling with the exception list etc. and I just can't get it to switch connection settings automatically when navigating to the Vodafone pages.
app to devellop...
If a dev guys could write a little apps with two big button to switch to :
* Vodafone Live wap
* Defaut internet
it's would be nice if you can setup within the applic 2 network config something like:
Button1(I):
Internet connect with : ....
Work connect wit : ....
Button 2(WAP):
Internet connect with : ....
Work connect wit : ....
and an option to start PIE to another web page ... with button 2...
Still not working...even with the .cab
Thanks guys...I'm another HTC TYTN ii user and I got all excited reading this thinking I'd finally found the fix (I hate Vodafone for selling me the Vodafonelive/MobileTV package and then not supporting me!!). I've loaded the .cab and followed the instructions for the reset. I'm also using WAP to now try and access the vodafone live sites...but no joy!!! :-( The following errors occur on each respective 'potential' Vodafone live page.
http://live.vodafone.co.uk - Gives me the error message: Bad Gateway - The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. Additionally, a 502 Bad gateway error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
http://live.vodafone.com - This must timeout in some other way because I get an IE initiated message saying The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. Check the connection and try again later.
http://live.vodafone.net again an IE initiated message saying The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again.
wsp://live.vodafone.net again an IE initiated message saying The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again.
wsp://live.vodafone.com This must timeout in some other way because I get an IE initiated message saying The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. check the connection and try again later.
wsp://live.vodafone.co.uk
Can someone please advise if I need to do anything else...or can you think of anything else that I can try???
By the way...I do at least get the EXCEPTIONS working out in Connections...By inputting the above sites into EXCEPTIONS, they do connect over WAP rather than IS(3G).
Pleeeeeease help! Cheers.
The cause is just your tricks to use exception...! Don't try to use it, even if it connect right...do a manual connect you will see the difference
I got those sorts of error messages when I was trying to work out how to use the exception list too. Very long "loading" times, followed by IE timeout errors.
Should work fine if you set your connections so that the "Programs that automatically connect to the Internet" are using the "Contract WAP" settings...
Same here?!

Same here?! Kaiser (Vario III) with Dutty´s Kaiser Final 2 (TouchFlo). Running fine.
What happened:
Try to establish internet connection. "wap.vodafone.de" (without Proxy)
- Vodafone Mail works fine (POP)
- IE (only http://www.vodafone.de) works fine
- Every other page (also wsp://live.vodafone.de) The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again.
Add Proxy 139.007.029.001 like it is written in some "Threads":
- Vodafone Mail --> did not work any longer. Sync error (Could not establish connection)
- No IE connection is possible.
Any idea?
Thanks. Bye.
Reversing the Vodafone cab file
Hi Sub69
I have been able to use Vodafone Live TV fine on my TyTn II for sometime but recently I wanted to look on a site that won't work as it said that my phone had been detected as a Symbian S60 unit and wanted me to download a .sis file which obviously won't work on the TyTn II. Have you got a cab file that does the reverse of the vodafone Live cab file and reverts the TyTn back to a WM6 device as far as some programs are concerned. I will then be able to toggle between the 2 as and when I need to.
Thanks

HTC Kaiser / Vodafone v1615 - Vodafone live access

Folks,
Used to have a HTC Universal (Vodafone v1640) that I never got working with Vodafone Live in the UK. Now have a v1615 (Kaiser) and wondering if this device can be made to work and access Vodafone Live.
I'm fairly technically literate (though not an expert!) and have to admit to getting a touch lost on a couple of things I've read on various websites. Not to sure how to change registry settings on my machine, but no probs learning, and very familiar with all the standard wap settings etc required.
My v1640 used to just hang if i pointed it to "www.live.vodafone.com", my Kaiser will now access the site but gives the following error in Explorer:
"Unable to determine IP address from host name for www.live.vodafone.com
The dnsserver returned:
Name error: The domain name does not exist.
This means that:
The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL. Check if the address is correct"
I never got this error message on the 1640 - it just sat there and did nothing. So i'm wondering if this is any further progress or not? Or are these HTC devices (as Vodafone confirmed today) just not meant to connect to Live without serious tweaking.
I am more than happy to have a hack at my machine but am slightly lost at where to start here in order to achieve this on my brand new device for which there still doesn't seem to be much info.
Have Vodafone got this device almost ready to access Live? Or is one of the posts i've seen somewhere just a fantasy?!
All I really need is just a basic guide going through it with this new device.
Can't believe Vodafone don't have this working in the first place...
Thanks.
Isn't it live.vodafone.com rather than www.live.vodafone.com?
yes, and you need some proxy settings as well to use it. the only way I got Live.vodafone.com to work was by adding it as a modem connection under my work network if you are looking to use it as a data plan only and it will only work with EAS and PIE, no VOIP or messenger will work. As for using the vodafone live site, you need to change some regkey settings that will fool the the vodafone proxy to think that you have an approved handset for vodafone live, you should find examples in this forum if you search around, I think Modaco also has some entries on this. Bottom line is that Vodafone never intended to let it be used with PPC, because once they loose that control they cannot sell their services, advertise etc which is why it's a relatively useless solution for anyone who use their offer of 500 MB for 10 Eur or something along those lines.
Cheers
LBN
Thanks guys. Yes - it is just live.vodafone.com - was too busy with work...
Ok, starting to get an idea of what needs to be done. Have seen so many posts on various websites that I wasn't quite sure where to start.
I'm guessing that changing the regkey settings is the first thing to try then? Is there an easy to use registry tweaking tool?
Been messing around for a while now and nothing I do seems to make any difference!
I've tried all kinds of different Reg Key settings, every combination of wap and internet access points, and nothing seems to change anything.
Basically no matter what i enter, (either wsp://live.vodafone.com or http://live.vodafone.com) it only connects through a wap connection, and it only brings up a very basic vodafoneLive series of text based web pages with no access to anything interesting.
Do WM6 devices such as mine have different Reg Key settings / areas that need modifying? I'm surprised that putting Nokia settings in, or any other setting has no effect at all!
Anyone??
The vodafone live portal requires a "template" to be present at the vodafone end which defines which screen size and content the device can handle. Unless Vodafone have created one for the v1615, you will need to alter the useragent to look like a device which does have a template...
Without a devices presenting its self as a supported device, you will not be able to access live services.
Why not look at the user agent of the Treo 500v? That is the frist real consumer WM device which has the ability to view the live portal.
Gotcha. Makes sense, thanks for the tip.
Any idea where to find details of a Treo 500v user agent?? Will give it a go if I know where to find one!
Hi,
Take a look at
http://www.modaco.com/Vodafone-Live-Settings-t259142.html
Guys,
I just got a Vodafone Treo 750v which i really like. but it doesn't have Vodafone Live or Mobile TV access on it as standard. I managed to get my Tytn II working (with your help and the Modaco forum) several months ago and now I'm trying to see if you or anyone can get my 750v working.
First thing i did was install a cab file (from the thread in the post above) on my machine and setup a wap connection and i was straight in to Vodafone Live all of a sudden. Got to mobile tv page but Windows media player wouldn't connect via wap. So went to xda-developers page and downloaded the HTC v2.10 streaming player and installed it and set it up to connect via wap.
Success, almost - choosing a channel to watch now launches the HTC player and starts to buffer the video but when it gets to almost 100% buffered and is ready to start showing video it suddenly hangs, then has an error and wants to send an error log to Microsoft. Its almost like the HTC player is missing something or some codec or dll file.
Anyone know how to crack this last bit? Anyone use a different Streaming media player to do this?
Hope someone can help!
Paul

How can I stop att unlimited from sending my internet connetion to being mobile

I need access to a direct ftp port with the http://65988.0023.XXX style connection but I can't get access to it unless I am using WIFI? what setting can I change to stop this?
try disabling the proxy settings, sometimes bypassing your networks proxy settings will open up all sorts of options you where once blocked from accessing
how would I go about that? I didn't know I was behind proxy settings? And do I need them to access medianet?
in your connection settings go to manage existing connection, select proxy settings and untick the box that says this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet and leave the box ticked that says this network connects tothe internet.
Ive disables my proxy settings for t-mobile Uk internet settings and now it connects alot faster and pages seem to be loading faster also
doesn't work... Darn this sux... I test it with www.msn.com and it still makes it pull up msn.mobile... how annyoing...
bump anyone have anything on this?
I would really appreciate help with this because I have to access a program that I can't otherwise.
If you're looking to hit an FTP site, then I'd grab an FTP client for WM and stop futzing with IE in the first place. Or am I misunderstanding what you're doing?
not it is not an ftp it is an http://112.2232.224:2324 type of site... that is all.

YEAAAAAAAAAAA I don't know what happened... but since I installed your thing it works perfect. damn I was getting peaved... when I go to msn.com thought it still brings up msn.mobile though. Well at least I can go to anywebsite I want now.
Do I ever need to put the proxies back? I guess I should just put this on my card just in case.
Again, Thanks... What else am I able to do now?
In the Tilt, Internet Explorer's user agent string is locked to mobile internet, meaning that websites will see your device as a mobile device. If the site has a mobile site, it will automatically re-direct you to that. In WM5 devices, you could use software to change IE's user agent string to make it look like a desktop, but on the Tilt, you can't.
You'll need to get Opera Mobile if you want the internet to see your phone as a desktop.
I think for what your trying to do you need to use the MY ISP settings instead of medianet settings. But I don't know what they are anymore. I think you will also need the right data plan to use them.
does PIEPlus User Agent setting work with Tilt?

Is this true even if using PIEPlus? PIEPlus Tools>Options Plus>User Agent allows setting User Agent to IE 5.5 or IE 6.0 (which should be seen by websites as a regular computer) in addition to the default PIE setting (which is seen as mobile)

what is pie plus. First off, I tried using opera mobile desktop setting and when I went to www.msn.com it still comes up as mobile. Do I have to configure something further?
Lastly, I just told you all that the program for turning off the hidden proxies worked. So for what I was trying to do those programs the other person posted worked nicely. However, it still sucks that I can't bypass the mobile crap... There is a program called deepfish from microsoft that addresses the issue exactly, however the jerks won't let the beta out any further. I am gonna aaddress that issue in another post.
I believe the problem is something in the WM6 or the Tilt itself because Opera doesn't work either.
Boy I'm glad you guys worked on this. I upgraded to Tilt yesterday and was cracking my head against the wall trying to figure out why the HTTP addresses wouldn't resolve with the same settings I've been using in my 8525. @#$%#@ Hidden Proxy! lol

Media Mall on non AT&T ROM?

I just upgraded my Tilt to Dutty's wm6.1, and I was wondering if there is something that I can do to make it so I can purchase things from MEdia Mall from AT&T. There are a couple of things that I need to get from there, and now it won't let me...says "we're sorry, your device is not supported for purchases on the MEdia Mall".
I know on Motorola phones you can add the Cingular certs to a folder (at least in the older p2k phones), which re-enables access to purchasing. Is there something like this that we can do to Tilts with an upgrade ROM? A cab we can install or a registry edit? I'm assuming we just need to do something that AT&T sees it as a Tilt and not an unknown phone.
I searched, but didn't see anything on this subject.
i've been looking for the same thing. I'll see if i could point you in the right direction. I remember reading something a while back about RestoreProxy and Disable Proxy.. maybe you want to restore the proxy to get it to work. Do a search in google because the search feature in this forum never find anything for some reason. Google. Restore Proxy Kaiser in google you should find someting
Well, you have to go through the proxy to even connect to the MediaNet homepage.
My sig! Look at it .
There is also an option in KaiserTweak to change how your device identifies itself to websites. Try changing the setting to AT&T Tilt. Combine that with the AT&T hidden proxy, and you should be good to go.

TYTN 2 & the 3 network skype

Hi everyone,
i went to a 3store today to get a TYTN 2 on 3 network UK. I thought we could use the free skype minutes they offer on other handsets, but they said no, use the wifi!!!
I was wondering if anyone knows a way to connect to their skype service. Thanks
PS: Please include links to any software or recent methods you might know.
Hi, I'd also like to know if this possible. Have a 3 PAYG sim and get 30 days free skype when I pay for the internet add-on but cannot work out how to use the 3G network for my calls. Cheers
I think fring will do what you want.
The website says you can make skype calls.
www.fring.com "fring is based on a unique thin-client technology that for the first time enables true VoIP over 3G, GPRS and WiFi networks"
I installed it on my stock rom AT&T Tilt (Kaiser) but have not tested.
I hope that helps.

Thanks but i think for that you should have access to the internet. I can easily use the skype program instead. The problem is that skype is not the type of skype 3 network is using ( they use a java based program).
I read an article and someone had used the skype from a LG phones with 3 and Esmertec Jbed, but that was an Australian version. does anyone have a UK version?
This would rock if it is possible! Anyone know where to download a UK version?
I think we need to find someone with a non nokia phone from 3 UK, so he can give us the jar file. preferably LG
What do you think?
anyone from uk? or anyone knows a professional UK website? please
Anyone found this?
Can anyone with a TyTn II from the 3 network confirm if it comes with Planet 3 and Skype software installed?
I use Three...
Ah, you forgot to read the ultra-small fine print that states that the offer for *all* phones has expired and it's now only on *selected* handsets that seem to exclude the TyTN 2, also you can't get the sim-only and install the Three free Skype or Live Messenger on a non-Three phone+rom without some custom ROM hacking.
To make matters worse, if you get the £5 Unlimited Internet Access, the small print is that Three block Skype and Live Messenger so they can't be used (thought I think you can buy the £10 option that allows them?) - even if you want to pay for them outside the unlimited bundle. You can use IM+ BeejiveIM etc, to access Live Messenger though, and as far as I'm aware it seems to be included in the Unlimited access...
Oh, and if you want to access Planet3/My3 on your phone you can do so, but first you need to go into Advanced Config and change your "User Agent Custom Base" to "HTC_TyTN_II Mozilla/4.0" and then use the URL "http://mobile.three.co.uk/837_sc/index.do"
The Planet3/My3 will only work when accessing the page though the 3 connection and not WiFI or ActiveSync, but is acuttaly pritty nifty at checking you accound balance, tops ups, addons and such like.

Ah, you forgot to read the ultra-small fine print that states that the offer for *all* phones has expired and it's now only on *selected* handsets that seem to exclude the TyTN 2, also you can't get the sim-only and install the Three free Skype or Live Messenger on a non-Three phone+rom without some custom ROM hacking.....

Thanks a lot for the information you provided. Damn it, I made a big mistake as i could've got the Nokia N95 with Skype and Live Msg + unlimited internet for £5 cheaper every month...!
Hi guys,
This is a solution for the Skype on Three network issue. I had placed it on another forum (http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/showthread.php?p=385677) and one guy has reported it working, but apparently, it might not work with WM5, only with WM6. Please give it a whirl and let me know if it works for you.
Feedback is great for both me as well as others

(I have great and joyous news)
I believe that I have succeeded in getting the native Iskoot WM6 client for Skype to connect to the Three/3 service. I am still testing it and would appreciate your feedback.
Steps
a) Download and install the Iskoot client for Windows Mobile 6 . Try the direct link here (http://www.iskoot.com/pc_download/Wi...1.54_WMpro.CAB)
b) After installation, start the application, but DO NOT sign in. Instead exit it. The reason for doing this is to create the default registry entries for Iskoot.
c) Now start your favourite registry editor (I personally use Resco Registry Editor, but you should be able to use any. Please do not ask me how to use the registry editor. This is not the appropraite forum.)
d) Head for the following location in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\ISKOOT\SKYPE\DEVICE
e) Update all the following entries to the same value "http://mobile.three.co.uk/948" (do not include the "double quotes")
BackupHost
CallUrl
DefaultSkHost
Pushhost
f) Exit the registry editor of choice and start and log into Iskoot. This might take some time. It took me about five minutes.
It should now be configured to connect to the 3 Skype service. To cross-verify, check that the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\ISKOOT\SKYPE\DEVICE\Cal lNumber has the value +447838333894 (the 3 Skype dial-out number). It should be automatically added by the software.
As I have mentioned earlier, I am still testing this. However, with this implementation, it should not use your included minutes, but the free Skype allocation. Please test the same and let us all know if that is the case or you have noticed that your inclusive minutes have been used up.
I do not know how to modify cabs. But if somebody can rebuild the original Iskoot cab with these settings built-in, that would be great.
I have noticed that the sound quality on this is considerably better as compared to the Skype Java client.

Thanks for the information. I tried it on my Hermes and it worked great.
Unfortunately, when I tried the same thing on my Kaiser, all I ever get is "Currently unable to connect".
I can't see why there would be any difference between the two phones, but the Hermes never fails and the Kaiser never succeeds!
Any suggestions?
Thankshttp://forum.xda-developers.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

The iskoot link is http://www.iskoot.com/pc_download/WindowsMobile/iSkootForSkype1.1.54_WMpro.CAB
How do you get the address http://mobile.three.co.uk/948? I am looking for the same thing for three italy, so I cannot use that url. I have Kaiser and a three skypephone, wich include 10 hours per day of free skype call, so I will love to use the iskoot software on Kaiser and lunch outside the windows the Amoi!
Thanks

For Windows Mobile 6.1, MS .net Framework 3.5 is required, otherwise, "Currently unable to connect" error might appear
SkypeOut is officially supported (if not, very soon) by 3UK,
http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/allfeatures/3skypephone/overseascalling/
with some restrictions (read the small print!)
I failed to get Skypein to work, however.
And Skypeout is a bit unstable at the moment, might be 3UK is upgrading their servers...

I think what some people did is to download a java version of the iskoot (for other non-WM phone) and decompiled the java class/jad file and find the URL string. I guess if you can somehow intercept the outgoing network traffic from a 3 customized iskoot client running on another phone (perhaps on a Symbian phone trying to communicate to the server via wifi, which wouldn't connect successfully I believe, but still let you), parse the network packet to find out its intended destination will do the trick too.

Thanks for the tip, but the problem is that the only phone with skype is the amoi 8512 (http://www.3skypephone.com/english/index.html have you ever seen it?) I do not have x-series with skype, but a specific offer wich works only with this phone. This phone does not have wifi, so I cannot sniff packet through network, and the iskoot client is not java, but specifically made for it (when I run it, the Java log does not apper), so I do not know how I could extract the url. The only thing I have done is to get its user agent to replace it on the Tytn II, the Amoi 8512 user agent is " Amoi 8512/R22.0 NF-Browser/3.3" without double quote, of course.

I was in your situation until a week ago when I found the 3 UK setting. It is so frustrating that I knew all it requires is a correct URL address yet I didn't know what it is!
What you may want to try is to first identify which X-series phone that 3 Italy support apart from the skypephone. And then change your Tytn II 's broswer agent string to one of those phone that use a JAVA iskoot client instead of a native client like Symbian client. Then use your phone browser to 3 ITA portal and try to download the iskoot (Skype) software. 3 ITA server should now think that you have a compatible phone so it will present you with the Java client. Once you go the .jar file, you can proceed to extract the URL from there...
I think people used SEW910I to get the 3 Australia client.
Try this for the Browser agent string:
SonyEricssonW910i/R1CA Browser/NetFront/3.4 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1
I tried the above suggestion myself to try to get the URL from 3 UK's client, but I can't remember why I stopped, and then later I found that the URL is already know on some other forums on the Internet...
Good luck!
