I'd like to know that, too! A simple step by step explanation would be very helpful.

i use Youtube via www.ytpocket.com on my phone...
Just install TCPMP with the flash plugin (these are provided on the ytpocket homepage!) and you can now browse and watch you're favorite video's!!!

use vtap software
its free and amazing
http://www.vtap.com/

ok, i've reinstall it and now working ok....and for curiosity...i'll check also Vtap
Thanks to all !

Very nice
The frame rate isn't fully smooth, is there anything that can be done about that or is it just down to the hardware?

Here is a direct link to the ppc cab file
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer_pocketpc/downloads/player.html
You need Flash 8 or better
that version of flash (7) is good but you can't use it on YOUTUBE
moblr.com is a good alternative, but not as many videos as YouTube.
try orb- my.orb.com
The latest version allows you to stream content from youtube, google video and i think dailymotion through your PC to your phone using media player. IT works like a charm. once installed, go to VIDEO- online videos.
one way is saving youtube/google videos to disk

Sites like you tube that MAKE you have the most recent flash player tick me off. ORB looks really awesome, by the way.

do we have to install flash player 7 to device or storage card ?
also , would this enable using activex on PPC ?
thanks for this!

Why do you prefer vtab for watching youtube?
Care to explain?

Nevermind. I finally got it to work. Thanks for the search function.

I have corecodec and tcpmp and vtap. I like vtap because I like the interface. Ability to change media settings and vtap is also free.
Has anyone tried blueapple.mobi, not an app but a website. It basically converts the media after you request for it, that does take a bit of time. But, what I like about it is that if I want to save the video I simply cut it out from my documents folder.

Youtube on Tilt

Is it possible to watch youtube videos on my tilt? i go to youtube.com and click on a vid and it says file type invalid and it's showing real player as the program to play the video, i downloaded TCPMP, went through all the instructions to get it set up correctly, but still the same thing, is real player the default program? if so how do i change that? so windows media or TCPMP is the correct one? thanks
Either get vTap (google it) or HTC Streaming Media. It has been posted here before very recently.

Couldn't i just make TCPMP or windows media player the default player? would that work? if so were do i make either one the default player, i couldn't find it in either program.
The HTC Streaming Media proggy will fix your problem. vTap is a self-contained app that pulls videos off google and youtube. Take yer pick.
just go to www.ytpocket.com it works the best out of all the you tube solutions ive tried
you just need tcpmp and flash bundle. Search on this forum. I've installed them and working youtube and all other flash base website playing fine on my tilt. Just browse through youtube, click on the video, tcpmp just opened by itself and play the video.
Thanks for the help, i've give these ideas a shot.
Tap http://m.youtube.com/ in your mobile browser. Vids will automatically launch in Streaming Media.
Anyone have a link to HTC Streaming Media download? i did a search but didn't see it.

that didn't work for me. Vtap however does work.
ive noticed that no matter what you install youtube will not work on some tilts
now i have the htc media player, i went to youtube.com, which takes me to m.youtube.com and i click on a video to see and it says failed to find network, it brings up the htc player now instead of the real player, but i get the same results and cant watch video, do i need to do anything w/the htc media player settings?

may be this link might help
ok, i've tried eveything mentioned here and some things mentioned on other threads and i still cant get youtube to work, the only thing i haven't tried is vtap and the only reason why is because when i go to install it on my TILT, i get an error that says " the file Vtap_pcc" can not be opened. either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's componets can not be found.
I deleted it from my tilt and tried it again, i made sure it was from the tilt selection on the vtap site, but still same error, Anyone able to help me with this, i've been working on this issue going on 3 days now.
also the error i'm getting when i go to youtube and click on a video link is "failed to conect to network" it opens up the streaming media player, and after about 5-10 seconds i get that error and it closes out.
did you find the HTC streaming media cab? That's what fixed it for me. vtap also works quite good.
I don't know if you tried the link I put above. Also look at this one: LINK
i used ytpocket on my wizard and now my kaiser. you can stream or download. works perfectly
I have HTC Streaming Media pre-installed on my Vario. I have since installed RealPlayer.
Now when I click on a YouTube video in IE nothing happens.
If I do it in Opera it tries to load the video in RealPlayer and fails with "Request failed".
How can I make the videos load in the HTC Player instead?
Ok I've got a tilt, so I've got the HTC Media player installed and I can now access m.youtube.com with no problems. However I would like to have access to the classic youtube.com however when I click a video it takes me to an error page saying to install flash player etc etc
What's the deal? Did I miss something? I thought the HTC player would handle standard youtube as well

Youtube Java app

So i installed the new Youtube java app on my tilt and i can get it to load up but when you try to watch a video it says "This phone can't stream videos". Heres the url to download it:
http://www.google.com/m/download/youtube/download?make=Nokia&model=N95&ver=v1.0.1
Maybe someone can get it to work.
p.s. i know its not meant for our phone.
I guess - YouTube will release the version for WM also
no there is no direct link right about now u have to ues the player and the buddle
why don't u just use vtap...??
much easier....
does vtap view youtube videos? whats the difference between vtap, youtube. java?
tvos
I've tested vtap some time ago. It has downloaded 2MB of data without displaying anything. Maybe other people don't have this problem, but I don't want to test this buggy app anymore.
For Youtube you don't need anything. Just visit http://m.youtube.com/ and watch the videos. The Kaiser (at least the TyTN II) has a stream player built in, which plays the videos very good.

vTap is a fantastic program!!! I have it on all my PPC's. Just like all programs there is a problem EVERY now and than, but overall it's a very solid (and free) program....
m.youtube.com does not have every youtube video. It's only the most popular ones. vTap has ALL youtube vidz streamed directly from tha web.....
If you want a service LIKE m.youtube.com go to ytpocket.com. You need to install TCPMP with tha plugin (which is at ytpocket.com )....
And are you SURE that m.youtube.com uses tha Streaming Media player? I haven't used it since it first came out, but I don't remember needing any programs.....

Tell me? Why would I suggest a program in a thread about playing youtube videos..... which doesn't play youtube videos?
Yes, it plays yt videos along with Google Video and other webclip sites. It also has a search engine for wikipedia....
vtap is program. youtube is a site which plays webclips. Java does not come into play in this at all. Most stuff on a PPC does not require Java because it has an operating system....
Any more questions....??

If you are using GPRS/EDGE or UMTS without a flatrate m.youtube.com is the better way because there the vids are optimised for mobile devices. Of course the quality isn't very good, but not everybody is using WIFI.

How to watch streaming movies on various websites?

Ok, i've search this forum and searched and no results. I would like to watch streaming movies on my htc, not only on youtube but elsewhere too. Youtube uses realplayer, but it displays (format not supported). Anywhere else when i want to watch a streaming movie nothing happens. What is it that i need to install? I have a core player installed but that didn't help. Do i need some kind of flash plugin?
Its here in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=362005, you need to install the flash video bundle (in post #9) on the link.
