Using TYTN stereo adapter on the Kaiser - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hi everyone,
I am having a strange problem. I am trying to use the headset and stereo adapter I got for use with my TyTn (8525). These do not work on my Kaiser/Tilt. I looked at the plug, and it doesn't appear to be double sided. The Kaiser wiki says that there is an enhanced usb plug on the Kaiser, one side for usb and another for audio. Could it be that the TyTn output the audio over usb and the Kaiser doesn't? I am having trouble getting these accessories to work. I am hoping there is a registry setting I can change to allow for this, so I do not have to buy new accessories.
I appreciate any help that anyone can offer on this matter.

Not at all. the wired headsets used on the TyTN and TyTN II do not incorporate any sort of decoding hardware that would be required in a standard USB headphone arrangement. HTC's extUSB socket certainly shares USB functionality and audio but audio doesn't go through the USB bus, there are seperate pins for that. I have a 3 in one USB adapter sold for use with the original TyTN but it works fine in between my TyTN II and its supplied wired headphones.

That's very strange then. None of my accessories seem to work. Any idea why this might be?

T-Mobile Wing: Sync, Power, Audio Cable

I received a Wing from T-Mobile yesterday and the device shipped with standard USB Mini connector (for sync/power) (rectangle with flared bottom) and a wall charger with the same typical mini USB connector. However, the connector on the phone is a similar rectangle shape, but has one diagonal corner, otherwise a perfect rectangle (while also some sort of mini USB connector, this connector is capable of handling audio in addition to sync and power...) It is the same jack that the headphones/mic fit into
In order to make this work, HTC packaged a small 1x1 node with a pigtail to convert the traditional flared mini USB connector to the new format connector.
Does anyone know where such a part might be able to be purchased? Or what the "name" of the connector is that I am describing? T-Mobile and HTC have both been rather useless and arrogant about the subject.
Thanks,

Don´t know exactly what you mean? I´m using several USB cables and they all work.
If you want an adapter to use two usb (charge AND headset) HTC himselfe has one. And if you want an usb --> 2,5mm there are several on ebay.
FYI ... the new HTC USB connector is actually a standard Mini-USB with extra pins for analog audio. If you were to take your standard USB cable and plus it into the phone, it should work. The only thing you need the adapter for is to use the headset, which is unfortunate. All the adapter does is split off the USB signal from the audio signal.
At least, this is how I understand it. My Wing won't be here until Tuesday.
In the USA, the Wing ships with a 2-way splitter. One plug is for USB POWER, and the other for headset. Err... I don't know which, if either, DATA would go over, it's mainly intended for use in the car when you want to have it plugged in but use the headset also!
I need to order a smaller audio-converter... something that can go inline with my headphones without looking/feeling/being stupid-big.

I ordered a converted from usb to 2.5mm from igonemobile for use on my Dash and my Wing. It's about 4 inches long, not too big in my opinion.
So far so good. 10 bucks, shipping included.

If you hands-free car kit supports bluetooth then you won't need any adapter to use your Kaiser.
nope.
its an old fashioned car kit where you stick your mobile in.

I doubt you will find any adapter for Kaiser.
Here's what I did for my "car kit" since my car doesn't have bluetooth nor a cassette player...
1. Generic Wal-Mart phone holder -- it has padding and clips onto the dash air vents ~ $9.00
2. 3-in-1 usb device for Motorola/HTC devices ~ $14.00 shipped
3. HTC 2-in-1 mic/speaker extension cable ~ $5.00 shipped
4. iTunes digital FM Transmitter w/ 3.5mm speaker cable ~ $40.00
5. Motorola/HTC car dc adapter ~ dunno, came w/ my Tilt
6. 2-way lighter spitter ~ $10.00 shipped
It's a lot, all-in-all lol. What I did was this:
1. mount phone holder onto the dash
2. plug 3-in-1 usb into the phone
3. plug dc adapter into one of the 2 lighter ports and into the left usb port
4. plug fm transmitter into other lighter port
5. plug fm transmitter's 3.5mm into the end of the 2-in-1
6. plug 2-in-1 into the right usb port
it should be good to go. I prefer the digital FM transmitter only because it has no frequency limitation.
If the car stereo had a cassette player, I'd just get a cheap 3.5mm to cassette adapter.

which car kit? The nokia specific car kit? Go out and buy a bluetooth car kit, then you don't have to worry about connecting any wires. Or you can upgrade your stereo to one with bluetooth built in, this is what I have in my STi http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PION...022QQitemZ350039047357QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW works great. Decent stereo, and great bluetooth integration, except I have problems syncing my contact list on my tilt. It used to work fine with my 8125, but when I try to sync with the tilt bluetooth resets on the tilt. You can get a refurbed one for $200 Here's a new one for $200 http://cgi.ebay.com/PIONEER-DEH-P79...ryZ39752QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem the major only difference between the 7900 and the 790 is the 790 has the ipod integration cable included

Headset Or Usb headphones?

I need a decent way to listen to music through my kasier. first of all is there a place to buy usb headphones; at a brick and mortor store. I dont really want to buy online. Or simply whats the easiest and cheapest product to buy.
no htc use usb headphones
usb headphones are kinda like external soundcards like usb speakers
kaiser dont support usb host so cant use usb devices
htc however have their own usb connection called extUSb
which apart from being usb also carry 2 analog audio lines
headsets which use extUSB can be used to listen to audio
but they must be compatible with htc
You'll be able to find HTC replacement headphones with the proprietary plug but they're usually crap. So, get one of those adapters: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2715504#post2715504 and use any good standard headphone you have.
alternatively you can use bluetooth stereo headphones...

11-pin to 3.5mm for X1 - Possible?

Hiya,
I understand that the USB socket on the X1 is slightly different than that of the Orbit 2...
...so I was very confused to see the following:
http://www.easydevices.co.uk/pp/Son..._3.5MM_STEREO_HANDSFREE_ADAPTER_WITH_MIC.html
Would the above accessory work, or are they selling something without actually knowing whether it would work?
If it DOES work, I'll be able to configure my CK7-W to charge/connect to my X1, which is what I want ultimately.
Hmm, I am almost certain it will not work. Not sure why they advitise it for the X1.
The X1 has a mini-usb charging port, but it does not have the extra tack-on pins that HTC's proprietary Ext-USB ports have. So, data and power can flow through the port, but audio and video can not be accessedd natively from the port.

help with at&t titl

i have kaiser at&t us vertion
i need to use Headphone on it
can any one help me
plug in a headset or buy a bluetooth one.
You need an adapter. Take a look here:
http://store.wmexperts.com/att-tilt-headset-adapters.htm
Good luck.
Headphones
It really depends upon what type of headphones that you have.
There are headphones available that will plug directly into the Kaiser's serial port.
But if you have the headphones that have a round plug, then you would need to purchase an adapter in order to use it.
