those are no bid auctions. Only immidiate payments.
This realy sucks! I feeld bad for Itje.

I reported him as well and if anybody gets a chance to get his ip ill packet his ass to hell ...

Hypothetically Speaking
Is there a way to win an auction on Ebay and email the seller -- sending him a nasty Virus that totally destroys his computer???
Just a Hypothetic Question.

Wait wait there my good friend .... A virus isn't hard to e-mail a person all we need to do is hide it well .... Like once we get his e-mail have a sexy girl e-mail him saying she likes him and sends him viral attached pictures... Or just some other method but we have to catch this jerk off guard. Or not even a virus but a trojan or bot to gain access to his machine .. Thus we can then have even more fun than 1 messed up computer

Another Line of thinking
How bout we beat him at his own game.
How bout we offer the same thing as he does at only .10 over Ebay costs to list it???
Should put the ************out of business.
What do you think Simon?

we can also e-mail the bidders on ebay and tell them that they can get the roms here for free. I will do my part and do this whenever I come across one of those auctions.

Thats wonderful except you cant do that on ebay with out worrying what issues they feel they may have with it. The person with that 10cent deal will more than likely get banned as ebay sucks and they look at that as some type of break of their policy. That much I do know as I made a 10 cent auction for a phone call and got banned .... So don't do anything to get anyone banned as my account is still down even tho i complain to them everyday after they allowed someone to fraud me.

No bidders as its a buy now sale not an auction. But if someone was to monitor it and catch the person who clicks it before they pay then yes an e-mail will be effective.

Okay -- Last Ditched Attempt at a Solution
What if .....................
We create a website.... win his auction...... link the website in his feedback
Website exposes what he is.
Where he got it from.
How they got ripped off...................

How about just making a fake ebay account and bidding on all his auctions then don't pay? Get banned, repeat process. He'd have to give up eventually.

I have pictures of this bridge I own. Want to buy it? Only $10 million!
Use your noodle mate. The seller is new to the forum and has 3 posts... You're going to trust him with your cash? Be sensible and buy it from a known seller.

what is your problem man i have box and everything i showed you pics if you like i will send you pic of how much i paid and recpit of my credit card
@bluesonicc, don't take offense but there is a big thread going on here about guys that were scammed recently by member(s) selling tilts and sending lint rollers, candles, etc. Seriously, I think your best bet would be to use eBay/craigslist to sell your phone. You'd probably end up getting more money for it anyway. As is at this point, though, you're going to run into a lot of paranoia over your proposed sale.
hey
i understand what you mean but i have shown everything to this guy full pics and now sending him video of me useing it with todays date it was my girlsfreind phone we broke up and not i wont to get rid of it i never sold anything on ebay b4 not to sure how to use it so thats y i came on here i know it sounds good to be true but i told him that i would use paypal so if he dont like it paypal will him get his money back i told him that i would give money back if he dident like it just upset i know that are bad people out there but its like there calling me a lier and dont even know me im proving as much as i can to him with out him just seeing the phone
Without a decent history here or on HoFo, your not going to get very far.
As stated before, sign up on eBay and list it there. That way the buyer and seller are protected (sort of).
And use punctuation and caps in the proper places.

You're not getting it - the scammer had all sorts of pictures of the Tilts he was selling. And yet, when the buyers opened their deliveries, they found lint rollers, candles and other assorted crap.
Just because a seller can prove that he is in possession of a Tilt does not guarantee that there will be a Tilt in the box you receive.
That doesn't mean, of course, that this particular seller is a/the scammer. If you trust him and feel that this is a good deal, then go for it. Nobody's stopping you.
But don't expect a lot of sympathy from this forum if you get screwed.

Read this thread completely:

Then you will understand my post. Reading it pissed me off and I really feel bad for the people involved. Again, I hope it gets resolved to everyone's satisfaction. But when I see a sale, I always think of that thread (NO relation whatsoever between this and the other thread).
yeah i knew about this.
For my service of selling, I will give all I can so you keep me in contact no matter what. If I have to give my phone number/msn account/ anything else then so be it.
hey, i just replied to your PM.
sorry for the delay. worked all day. please reply back.
thanks
Treat this post as a standard disclaimer and it is NOT aimed specifically at this seller.
Sadly, we recently had a case of a member who pretended to be selling Kaisers but was sending out "junk".
So -
If you buy any device from any member having seen it for sale on XDA-Developers; then you do so at your own risk. It is entirely up to you to ascertain if the description of the device is accurate and the offer genuine. You are not covered / protected in any way by XDA-Developers and XDA-Developers has not checked or authorised the sale of any device on these forums.
Can we merge this with the other post that the OP already put up offering hit tilt for sale? Or maybe with the other 50 page "help" thread as a nice
denouement to this entire saga?
it's not necessary to do..
anyways this guy is already making the deal.
I won't let him down.
the reason why Ninja Gaiden II is in the picture of my nickname is because I told him before that I was going to play the game meanwhile waiting for my brother to appear with the paypal information.
hey man, sorry i got distracted here at home.
reply back to my PM and we'll be good to go.
This thread can be closed now.
Item sold.
hey bro, got the phone!
Just as described. Glad to be back on a tilt!
It's refreshing to hear that you finally got what you deserved.
You will for sure put it in better use than I did.
Enjoy it and take care.
Try sell it on eBay, you get big bucks out of it... I paid $280 for a brand new one just week ago, too bad or I would have got your phone...

A quick check around finds.
Very little onthe web about a company that is supposed to have been in business since 1996.
Not registered at Companies House.
Web Site was created in August this year.
And this is their trading address.
NEW-TOPICS STORE
45 Gardner Rd
Lancaster, Lancashire
Which looks like this.
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=45+...=J6hLmT1PwSEAVVM18tIQSg&cbp=12,313.75,,0,6.87
So. Make up your own mind.
Ciao.com does have some customer reviews but I have not read them yet apart from one who said he could not complete the transaction as their PayPal would not take payment
Just like I suspected. Clearly there's no STORE around that corner .
I found similar fooling techniques being applied on eBay, ebay.fr to be exact.
eBay remove some of them and notified by email too. I guess all those 100% positive feedback are f**kers trying to pull money easy. Btw. can anyone explain me if the Buyer Protection works for these cases on eBay ?
I sent them a email too and i seen where the address took me in the uk, also i looked everywhere for this site cant find anything on it, i couldnt find the address in italy where it is being run from.
The website is part of prostores, where you can set up your own website and sell stuff, and its run by ebay, soo ummm i dont no, i dont really want to pay that money to find out to be honest.
also had a look on ciao, it dont look good the guys payment was cancelled but this was a while ago, they have updated since then.
anyone willing to give it a try???
Scam.there are lots of "web stores" that offer such low prices.most of them in china.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Yes, but the stores in Chine offer their models, China made, for that reason they're cheap.

[Q] Gumtree Scammers [UK]

So I tend to list my old phones on Gumtree, due to eBay's crazy fees. With eBay and Paypal, you sell a phone for £400 and give them £40 of it! Kinda crazy really.
Anyway, everytime I list an item on Gumtree (even through I state I wont ship internationally) I get e-mails people telling me they will pay me X+£100 via Paypal.
Of course I always either ignore or reply telling them I wont ship outside of the UK at which point they don't reply.
What I'm curious about is, how do they work the scam? Paypal is generally quite safe isn't it? Do they claim after two week's they haven't received the item? Does the money just never get to Paypal and they try and talk you in to sending it before it's there?
I'm half tempted to ask one of them to pay the money, me with no intention of sending the phone anywhere, just to see what happens...
http://reviews.ebay.com/PAYPAL-BUYER-SCAM-EXTREMELY-IMPORTANT-INFORMATION_W0QQugidZ10000000000114286
Basically unless you have proof that you have sent, and that they have signed for an item, PayPal will refund the money.
a specific example
So from the example, even if you have proof that the package was delivered, Paypal are likely to give the money back?
I wonder what happens if I ask the scammers to transfer direct into my bank account?
That's made me a little nervous now. I've just sold my DHD on eBay, the guy has paid with Paypal right away.
What are the safest steps for me next? I simply post it via recorded delivery and submit the tracking number to eBay somewhere?

and on paypal too
Thinking about it, I should probably do it special delivery, because that is insured. So if he claims its damaged or something, I can go back to Royal Mail?
Now... the other thing, the guy is only 7 miles away, I'd prefer to drop it over to him. If I get him to sign a 'receipt' do you think Paypal would accept it? I guess I'm actually safer posting it now, he's paid for postage, so he could claim I made it up, where's my postage info...

So long as you keep the receipt for postage, and make a note of the time and date, where you posted it etc, the Post Office will refund up to £30 (I think that's the amount anyway) for missing items, after they have investigated. Anything more expensive, and I would suggest you send it with insurance anyway.
Are you guys serious??????
just search "gumtree scams paypal moneysavingexpert" on google (sorry can't post links)
That's why I stopped using gumtree overall. It is nothing but a scam den! Now I use other safer sites like movethat.com or bonsoni.com
Not if you're careful. I've not been scammed once using Gumtree and I've made more money from each sale as I'm not giving eBay and Paypal 12% of my sale. You could say that in itself is the biggest scam...
I do still use eBay, cause we don't really have any other auction alternatives do we?
Yes if you are smart then you should be ok (although my smart cousin lost his deposit money for a flat) . But the problem is Internet is available to everyone, even to the granny who never used a comp before.
usually these kind of naive people are becoming a victim. Just search gumtree fraud or gumtree scam on google news search thousands on result come up! Apparently police stopped taking this crime reports as they are too many of them.
You are not giving that 12% to ebay and paypal but do remember that actually you are doing them a favour by using gumtree, which is own by ebay and paypal.
That's what happened when capitalism reach at its pick and consumers don't have much choice.
Once again I prefer to use other smaller and safer sites then any of the above named site.

I don't think it's a viable alternative though. For example, there's 1 Nexus S for sale on eBid. If I'm looking for a phone, why would I go to eBid. If I'm selling, why would I start an auction on eBid, next to no-one see's it and my item sells at a crazy low price

One reason to use smaller websites like ebid is because less people will bid, so you may pick up a bargain.

That's exactly what I'm saying, thanks. Very bad for sellers, not a viable option.

Can I return my extra nexus 6 or should I sell it? just arrived and I got two now.

I ordered a blue 32 because i wasn't able to secure a white one the first week, two weeks later I was lucky enough to purchase a white one but now I'm stuck with two and having one is expensive enough. Is it possible to return the blue one even though it has already arrived or should i just try to sell it? If i were to sell it, would i lose money and where would be a good place to try to sell it?
Where did you buy it from? You should be within the return window because I got mine in the first batch and it arrived 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I know GPS has 15 days from the delivery date and I'm not sure about Motorola.
Sell it to a local XDA member that can't get their hands on it. You shouldn't lose any money. I'm sure someone is willing to pay for shipping on their end for the device.

I heard reports of people offering couple hundred more than what they sell for. Some people don't want to wait and have the money. Just something to think about. Or if you want to be humble and sell to someone at cost and make someone happy for not waiting.

I wish i could post a thread offering to sell it here on xda like you said just to help out a fellow xda member but even the mention of posting a device for sale here will result in the threat of getting my account banned, i have made that mistake once. It really isn't right especially in this situation, I'm not looking to get rich or even profit from it. And who knows, maybe someone here would be really stoked to be able to just send me a pm and be able to get their hands on one rather than struggling to get one from the limited stock. I think the issue should be handled on a case by case basis but hey, just one man's opinion. The moderators abusing their authority is a whole seperate issue though and one on which i personally refuse to comment.

Better sell that sucker! I am sure the value drops everyday as the devices become more available. But I sold mine for 835!
