Can I return my extra nexus 6 or should I sell it? just arrived and I got two now. - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I ordered a blue 32 because i wasn't able to secure a white one the first week, two weeks later I was lucky enough to purchase a white one but now I'm stuck with two and having one is expensive enough. Is it possible to return the blue one even though it has already arrived or should i just try to sell it? If i were to sell it, would i lose money and where would be a good place to try to sell it?

Where did you buy it from? You should be within the return window because I got mine in the first batch and it arrived 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I know GPS has 15 days from the delivery date and I'm not sure about Motorola.

Sell it to a local XDA member that can't get their hands on it. You shouldn't lose any money. I'm sure someone is willing to pay for shipping on their end for the device.

I heard reports of people offering couple hundred more than what they sell for. Some people don't want to wait and have the money. Just something to think about. Or if you want to be humble and sell to someone at cost and make someone happy for not waiting.

Then it should be a very easy return. Just give them a call and say you want to return it. Google will send you a shipping label and tell you how to send it.

I wish i could post a thread offering to sell it here on xda like you said just to help out a fellow xda member but even the mention of posting a device for sale here will result in the threat of getting my account banned, i have made that mistake once. It really isn't right especially in this situation, I'm not looking to get rich or even profit from it. And who knows, maybe someone here would be really stoked to be able to just send me a pm and be able to get their hands on one rather than struggling to get one from the limited stock. I think the issue should be handled on a case by case basis but hey, just one man's opinion. The moderators abusing their authority is a whole seperate issue though and one on which i personally refuse to comment.

I feel ya. But put it up on swappa. I think that's the official XDA market place or Google plus. Buy ya I think there were too many scams on XDA so they pulled the plug on market place.

Better sell that sucker! I am sure the value drops everyday as the devices become more available. But I sold mine for 835!

***WARNING*** eBay users; Kaiser mounts

***WARNING***
Anyone using eBay to purchase universal mounts for the Kaiser/Tilt. I'm posting this because of what happened to me, and think everyone should AVOID this company. ( http://myworld.ebay.com/colordrives/ ). It's been 3 weeks since making payment, and they keep giving me the run-a-round. Said they shipped it, but have NO shipping info like a tracking number. Then promised to ship a replacement, and again, NOTHING! If I can keep ONE person from using this company in the future, then this post was a success and vindication for being scammed.
Again, AVOID colordrives if possible. http://myworld.ebay.com/colordrives/

thats the one i bought....perfect
Sorry to hear about your experience with "Colordrive"...
It's weird cause I've done 4 purchases from him in the past 2 months and I always received tracking number and fast shipping.
I've actually purchased from the two ebay members mentioned and no problems.
I hope this gets solved soon.
Yeah, I just ordered another one from a different seller. I have one for my Tilt, but need a spare. Still pissed I got ripped-off by these douchebags, but I should get reimbursed by PayPal down the road once my claim goes through.

I think they over-sold what they had in-stock. I drive for UPS. I know all about shipping and the problems that can incur, so when they lied to me the first two times and I brought it to their attention, they just ignored it and promised to ship another one, which hasn't happened. If they were out of stock and didn't have it, they should've said so up front and I wouldn't have gotten so pissed. Stuff happens, that's life, but be honest with the customer. Don't make excuses as to why it's taking almost 3 weeks to ship an already-paid-for-item. Now I know why a 1/3 of their feedback is negative. I'll never use them again, and like I said, I hope Word of Mouth from this rant keeps a few customers from using them and experiencing what I have. WOM is more powerful than people realize.

Probably would have been best to check the f/b before you bought. That's what its there for...
Interesting. I have purchased from him a couple of times without a single problem. Rapid shipment each time.
Granted it wasn't for a charger or mount, so maybe that's the issue.
Good luck in your resolution.

I did, but no company has a perfect score, and after 200,000 sales these guys can't be perfect. I just fall into the 1/3 that got scammed. It's a risk you take using eBay no matter what the feedback is.
I've bought from Colordrives several times and always had a good experience with them. Information like this might make me think 2nd.

I seriously think they over sold their stock. They wont even reply to my email in regards to a tracking number, or any shipping info for that matter. I'm glad others had success with them, but I hope you don't go back to them and risk ending-up in my situation. I hope a LOT of people avoid this company. It's not a professional way to do business.
assuming that you paid with paypal i would go to them and dispute the transaction and get your money back since they failed to ship. if you used any other system but still used a credit card, call your bank and file a chargeback. you need to get companies where it hurts: right in their wallets. if you dispute the charges then you will win since they never shipped. if they try to give you a tracking number that is falsified, then they are in it even deeper than they were before.

Treat this post as a standard disclaimer and it is NOT aimed specifically at this seller.
Sadly, we recently had a case of a member who pretended to be selling Kaisers but was sending out "junk".
So -
If you buy any device from any member having seen it for sale on XDA-Developers; then you do so at your own risk. It is entirely up to you to ascertain if the description of the device is accurate and the offer genuine. You are not covered / protected in any way by XDA-Developers and XDA-Developers has not checked or authorised the sale of any device on these forums.
Can we merge this with the other post that the OP already put up offering hit tilt for sale? Or maybe with the other 50 page "help" thread as a nice
denouement to this entire saga?
it's not necessary to do..
anyways this guy is already making the deal.

Try sell it on eBay, you get big bucks out of it... I paid $280 for a brand new one just week ago, too bad or I would have got your phone...

[Q] Gumtree Scammers [UK]

So I tend to list my old phones on Gumtree, due to eBay's crazy fees. With eBay and Paypal, you sell a phone for £400 and give them £40 of it! Kinda crazy really.
Anyway, everytime I list an item on Gumtree (even through I state I wont ship internationally) I get e-mails people telling me they will pay me X+£100 via Paypal.
Of course I always either ignore or reply telling them I wont ship outside of the UK at which point they don't reply.
What I'm curious about is, how do they work the scam? Paypal is generally quite safe isn't it? Do they claim after two week's they haven't received the item? Does the money just never get to Paypal and they try and talk you in to sending it before it's there?
I'm half tempted to ask one of them to pay the money, me with no intention of sending the phone anywhere, just to see what happens...
http://reviews.ebay.com/PAYPAL-BUYER-SCAM-EXTREMELY-IMPORTANT-INFORMATION_W0QQugidZ10000000000114286
Basically unless you have proof that you have sent, and that they have signed for an item, PayPal will refund the money.
a specific example
So from the example, even if you have proof that the package was delivered, Paypal are likely to give the money back?
I wonder what happens if I ask the scammers to transfer direct into my bank account?
That's made me a little nervous now. I've just sold my DHD on eBay, the guy has paid with Paypal right away.
What are the safest steps for me next? I simply post it via recorded delivery and submit the tracking number to eBay somewhere?

and on paypal too
Thinking about it, I should probably do it special delivery, because that is insured. So if he claims its damaged or something, I can go back to Royal Mail?
Now... the other thing, the guy is only 7 miles away, I'd prefer to drop it over to him. If I get him to sign a 'receipt' do you think Paypal would accept it? I guess I'm actually safer posting it now, he's paid for postage, so he could claim I made it up, where's my postage info...

So long as you keep the receipt for postage, and make a note of the time and date, where you posted it etc, the Post Office will refund up to £30 (I think that's the amount anyway) for missing items, after they have investigated. Anything more expensive, and I would suggest you send it with insurance anyway.
Are you guys serious??????
just search "gumtree scams paypal moneysavingexpert" on google (sorry can't post links)
That's why I stopped using gumtree overall. It is nothing but a scam den! Now I use other safer sites like movethat.com or bonsoni.com
Not if you're careful. I've not been scammed once using Gumtree and I've made more money from each sale as I'm not giving eBay and Paypal 12% of my sale. You could say that in itself is the biggest scam...
I do still use eBay, cause we don't really have any other auction alternatives do we?
Yes if you are smart then you should be ok (although my smart cousin lost his deposit money for a flat) . But the problem is Internet is available to everyone, even to the granny who never used a comp before.
usually these kind of naive people are becoming a victim. Just search gumtree fraud or gumtree scam on google news search thousands on result come up! Apparently police stopped taking this crime reports as they are too many of them.
You are not giving that 12% to ebay and paypal but do remember that actually you are doing them a favour by using gumtree, which is own by ebay and paypal.
That's what happened when capitalism reach at its pick and consumers don't have much choice.
Once again I prefer to use other smaller and safer sites then any of the above named site.

I don't think it's a viable alternative though. For example, there's 1 Nexus S for sale on eBid. If I'm looking for a phone, why would I go to eBid. If I'm selling, why would I start an auction on eBid, next to no-one see's it and my item sells at a crazy low price

One reason to use smaller websites like ebid is because less people will bid, so you may pick up a bargain.

How Google gave me a FREE Nexus 7

This is sooo cool I had to share it with u guys.
So I was one of the first ones to per order the nexus 7
When I did it charged my card but the payment did not go through because it said there was something wrong with my card (I've use this card to make all of my google payments so it was kind of odd)
I remove and re added the card and that seemed to fix it.
on the 11th it'd attempted to charge my card but it didn't go through.
A few days latter I called customer service and they told me to remove and re add the card again but that didn't helped so after an hour with customer service the guy told me to just go to a store and buy it there and they will still give me the 25 dollar gift card.
I went the next day and as soon as I come on out of the store I received an email from google letting me know that my order has been shipped, I was really mad because I would be charged again so I called customer service and they told me to just denied the package when it arrives, 10 minutes later after talking to customer service I received an email that said my order was canceled because my card could'nt be charged (I'm sure I had enough funds).
the next day I wake up AND IT WAS THERE, A BRAND NEW NEXUS 7
I quickly check my bank statement and I was never even charged so I was thinking there something wrong with their ordering system

Completely inaccurate title. Google did not "give" you a free Nexus7. They accidentally shipped you one without charging you first.
What YOU chose to do now is up to you, but bragging about it on XDA seems to be a bit stupid. Either keep it and hope they don't send you a bill, or contact them and offer to pay for it or have them ship it back.
Screw that, keep the nexus! If you found a $20 bill on the ground in a mall, what would you do with it? Probably keep it. Right?
It was Google's mistake not yours

Price drop of $150

Anyone else peeved about this? Our reward for pre-ordering...paying $150 more than people who just waited.
Agreed
I vaguely remember samsung did this once a few years back, to many customer's backlash. The phone hasn't even been out a month and they are discounting it almost 25%. That's somewhat a slap in the face to us faithful LG owners. I've owned every g series phone since optimus G, so I know what i'm getting into in terms of residual value, but this is a bit beyond good practice.
This really sucks I just say yesterday where it said $500.00 and free google home. I'm not going to pre-order again I'll just wait and maybe I'll buy something else because $150.00 is a really big difference.
yes,,to quick...call and voice your displeasure even it they cant do anything...it lowers consumer confidence....i mean why would any ever preorder or buy within the first couple of day again.
I decided to talk to T-Mobile about this situation and all I got was sorry but I can't help you Lg prices always come down quickly and I stated not a month later maybe a year. Not worth discussing with them I even told them maybe I need to find another carrier where I can get better deal. All I got out of that is I understand don't want to loose you but it is up to you. No way that I like the answers I got so if I do stay with T-Mobile I will never pre-order another phone from them.
Thats happened to me a few times actually on a few different devices.
I was never upset about it though because i got all the devices launch day and didnt have to wait a month.
$150 is worth getting my hands on day one to me...no problem with it at all.think of it as a premium for getting things first lol.
Now adding in extra giveaways is a different story, people shouldnt be getting extras when they already got a discount on the device.

Annoyed, yes. But... It's the price you pay for early adopters. There should be exclusive benefits to pre-ordering because otherwise I agree, why pre-order?

This is not a carrier thing. Tmobile is not to blame for the price drop.
Your right it is not a carrier thing but I have bought things in stores and within a certain period of time they dropped the price and I went back when I saw it and the store gave me the difference in cash so it can be done. Also I have gotten credits from carriers Also stores do price matches of different stores so there is a way to do this. I can't do anything about it as I stated before and will stick by it I will not pre-order again which is my choice anyone else can do what ever they want to.
Myself and others got the $150 back. I had to return and repurchase a G6 to get the price while others have received $150 bill credit. Call and speak to retentions until you get someone to credit the $150.

No tmobile does price matches, they would work with you and rare instances kowtow if the customer was having a baby fit
Picked one up yesterday. Had a G6 side by side with the S8 and S8+. Had the bucks to buy either, but just couldn't see the extra value in the S8+ that would make it a must have thing. I'm not much into the curvy sides. Hope you all get the 150 back.
Cheers,

Myself and others got the $150 back. I had to return and repurchase a G6 to get the price while others have received $150 bill credit. Call and speak to retentions until you get someone to credit the $150.

How long did you have your phone when you returned it and re-purchased?

Just to let you know I don't do baby fits. I am a senior citizen who doesn't like losing money.

You are always going to lose money on a phone, they lose value quickly. You blaming tmobile was wrong, they don't do price matches but because they value customers they will do things out of norm to help you
I really wish you would read my posts I didn't blame t-mobile for this situation SovPanda and I know about loosing money everything you buy depreciates quickly. You keep insulting me about what you think I'm saying please read my posts instead of jumping to conclusions. If you read some of the posts you will others have gotten bill credits of $150.00 and that is what I'm trying to do too.

I'm an old coot too, fixin' to turn 64... If you're within the 14 day return period, just go tell them what you want. They'll do it. Guys like you and me walk and and say "here's what it is and let's get this done" and it usually happens, especially if you're within reason, and you are. I'm sure SovPanda is just trying to be helpful, really. Things change, how folk address one another, what he said would just roll off an X'ers or Millennials back like "cool, I get it".
Walking in when a promo runs 6 months later and trying the same thing probably wouldn't fly. Or it might, who knows.
I just lucked out that the price dropped the day I considered it- and boy, am I glad I didn't get the S8+. $350 more for gimmicks that really have no impact in real life, in my view.
Cheers!

Whining and complaining because you didn't get what you think you deserve while demanding someone else give it to you? That sounds nothing like a millennial...
If you were willing to pay its original price, and were happy with it, are you suddenly no longer happy with it now that it's $150 cheaper?
I get it, paying one price and finding out it's cheaper and day later or what not sucks. I certainly would like the extra $150. Next time I can wait, attempt to anticipate when something is going to drop and hopefully that'll work out. If not, such is life. Certainly don't feel screwed over as I'm happy with the device.
Still amazes me how much cell phones cost though. Computers and technology usually get cheaper, but it seems phones just get more and more expensive. Crazy.

Naw, I didn't intend a slight to a millennials or xers or anyone else; I was just noting that certain ways of addressing issues, turns of phrasing, etc., are cross-generationally different, the way they play out in our heads. Actually, we mostly have a common understanding.
It's a communication thing when what you say isn't always what they hear- and vice versa. Never did think of millennials as whiners, etc. It's just easy to misinterpret each other, I think- and, btw, I didn't take any offense
Cheers,

PS: Yep, you'd think things would get cheaper. Sometimes they do for a bit, but generally speaking, things always go up. Way of the world.
Wow I can't believe that this got so out of hand. I'm glad I don't have to deal with this on a daily basis because there is way to many differences between generations.
