Find deleted .cab's - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

The other day my friend purchased a new T-Mobile Wing. He asked if I had any cool app's to put on it so me, being a nice friend, installed some stuff. Well now all of the .cab's are missing from my memory card. I was able to re-download Live Maps and Google Maps but "Beta_Super_Arcade_v1.0" I couldn't find.
Is there anywhere the cab could be on my phone, or does anyone have a link to download it?
Thanks.
PS- Is search not working for everyone, or is it just me?

Do you or your friend use a configuration / tweaking tool?
Schaps_adv. config has a setting "delete cab after install" this is what may have happened!

Well he didn't have pretty much any 3rd party app's other than the ones that came preloaded with the original Wing ROM. And I have KaiserTweak/Advanced Config but I don't have the "Delete cab after install option chosen" so obviously his did by default.

Anyone have the Beta_Super_Arcade_v1.0 cab?

The wing auto deletes cabs after install.

What does Album_EnableStreaming.cab do?

I have this cab and I'm not sure what it does or if I need it on my pda2k after the 1.40 rom upgrade.
I also have pp2arm.cab. Any thoughts here?
Lastly, is there a way to play Shoutcast (music streaming) on my pda2k? If so, how. I connected to my wifi, went to shoutcast.com, and tried to play a stream but couldn't. I'm not sure if this is something that is possible.
Thanks,
Tom

If you dont know what a cab does then open it, have a look at it, check the reg settings that it gives you.
For this you need Wincab manager, other applications are around as well and you will find them on wiki, in the kitchen under kitchen tools.
The other option is on wiki (were else) have a look at the avliable roms, in the ERK_XXX you will find a link to a doc of that rom and what the cabs do (it has screen shots of wincab maneger and the exported reg entries). For most of the roms that is, the cook got bored of the work and got sloppy. Dont ask me which cooked version it was, its been a long time.
Album_EnableStreaming.cab seems to date back a while:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=ERK_X_106117
But, since the keys it creates are not created on their own in the new 1.40.xxx Extended roms, perhaps it does indeed still have some use.

Works great, but I cannot find the midlet manager.

I found it out when I tried to install google map. I don't know how useful the jvm could be, is there an individual installation package?
If you are using a 2.26 you'll need to install separate JMM cab file to get the MIDlet manager (sorry, I don't know where to get this, it is missing from the T-mobile 2.26 CE ROM) .
If you are on 2.25 or earlier, just create a shortcut to windows\jmm.exe
Map4PDA is far better than Google map as it lets you use Yahoo, Google, Ask and MSN maps within the one program. It does require .Net2 to be installed though. I use it with a bluetooth gps and it is quick enough to update over gprs on Tmobile web&walk certainly when walking and in car as long as you don't drive too quickly
Thank you all for the answers, here is a more generic one:
How important is it to have a JMM? Besides the GMM/other map utilities, what other COOL applications are we going to miss?
Cool? Java? C'mon.

Applying Black Manilla works just fine. However start menu is still T Mobile white. Even beaming across the original HTC Black theme and choosing that makes no difference.
However Im looking for Windows Messenger (the latest CAB on this forum didnt work) and You Tube App.
hmm i thought the start menu was just part of the theme file...
skin
I want to thank the poster of the manila theme!
I was Looking for this theme, cause the T-mobile theme with the pink logo's was so girlish
Also for other installers, during the install every thing went fine till it restarted. I looked like the phone started correctly, i heard bleeping and it shaked, but the screen was gray with borders.
After that I thought I messed something up, and tried a soft reset, after that it worked like a charm!
ok after lots of atempts i think i have got my compact to a state where you could call it de-branded??
i have got the black manilla theme from the diamond which is allot better than the pink and white! i have got windows live with messenger installed and working nicely, and i have finally managed to get the youtube app on it aswell, so apart from that is there anything else which needs to be changed software wise??
anyone else had any success with this? i know i could just flash another rom but i really want to stay under warranty
Cheers guys

How You did it... step by step.
Speaking of warranty, I’m in the same boat. I got no issues of changing the ROM as long as I can get back if I need to.
We really need a copy of the T-Mobile Stock ROM!
i would also be very interested in knowing which version of messenger you got to work and where you located it
I know i can flash a different rom but don't really want to until a copy of the original t-mobile rom is available, just in case i need to revert back for warranty purposes.
how i installed Windows Live Mobile...
Okay guys bare with me and let me know if you have any success with this.....
firstly for Windows Live Mobile, i have tried loads of different cabs to get this working, but this has seemed to work for me,
1) install "Windows Live install 1st.cab" then soft reset, once you reset you will have windows live installed but there will be no messenger this should be fine if you just want hotmail.
*****make sure you dont uninstall the 1st cab! they both need to be on at the same time to work!*****
2) install "Windows Live install 2nd.cab" and again soft reset, once you reset you will have all of windows live including messenger just as it is on the stock diamond rom same version im pretty sure!
Windows live is now good to go! over wifi it will sync flawlessly, over gprs/3g it will be hit and miss, as it has been on every other device with wm6, Windows live mobile and T-mobile, i always get my emails however it will sometimes show a sync error aswell. (let me know how you get on here because i have had this connection issue with my last couple of phones!)
i take no credit for any of these files, they are already on this forum and i thank the guys who uploaded them first time around!
Original TouchFLO....
To get the original colours back into touchFLO i used the theme which was posted earlier in this thread on the first page, this does take up about 9mb of space though! however looks far better than the pink and white!
to change the start menu picture go to Start>Settings>System>TouchFlo and de-select 'Enable Large Start menu' this will then give you what ever themes your using start menu, however it wont be as large!

How did you get the you tube app to work?
There is a youtube VGA cab on this forum, which installs - however whenever you attempt to play a video there is an error message
Finally Youtube!
this was the most annoying one!
okay to install this...
1) Install "AdobeFlashLite.cab" this may or may not be required? however i installed it and everything works fine! maybe someone could try with out this and see if it still works.
2) install "HTC YouTube install 1st.cab" this will install the youtube app however it is a qvga version and looks rough on the awesome vga screen and everything is all over the place, however still works fine.
3) unzip the contents of "HTCYouTubeVGA install 2nd.zip" to your \Windows\ directory ensuring the files do go into the windows directory and not into another folder inside the windows directory i.e \Windows\HTCYou... you will be promted if you want to overwrite some files, you have to overwrite all of the existing 200 or so files!
4) do a soft reset for luck and you will now have the full youtube app aswell! exactly the same as on the diamond, i cant remember if i had to create the shortcut to the youtube app myself or if the cab did it, if you have to do it yourself the application is called youtube.exe and is in the \Windows\ folder!
Again all of these files have already been uploaded by others elsewhere in the forum! i have just got them all together, so a big thankyou to all of those members!
let me know your results
Cheers
I also did change the "on-pink" in the connection manager, this was on a dutch t-mobile device but it will probally also work on uk-versions. Just put these 2 files in the windows map with total commander or some other file manager.
Another thing I did was a hard reset and just before the branding kicks in a soft reset. You'll get a pretty clean phone, only some programs aren't installed like tf3d. For tf3d I downloaded the black manila from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408843&highlight=boinger66+black. Opera is also not installed so I will also try to install this from the same thread and give it a go.
Also you can remove the t-mobile connection button on the tf3d interface by using removing globe.cab from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406681
Cheers to craigwn for the windows live messenger and youtube posts - all cabs installed straight away and with a soft reboot between each one, now both apps work great!
One small thing - I installed the youtube, wlm and then the manila theme and have just realised all my contacts have disappeared. Not sure which one of these have done it (or a combination) as I didn't check in between, but will just get them back via activesync so no problem.

i think this may have something to do with wlm, if you choose to sync contacts, it messes with the phones contacts aswell! just uncheck the option to sync contacts in the future.

fuze stock messaging cab??

can anyone help me with the getting the cab for the stock aim messaging app in the fuze? i changed my rom to romeos and it doesn't have the stock messaging app..
check Da_G's rom thread or maybe NATF's. They have most of the original stuff cabbed
thx i tried looking for it and i still can't find it, if worst comes to worse maybe i can extract the cab from the stock rom.. but i can't even find the information to extract files from the rom.
Its called Oz Messenger try searching for that. I believe the program is normally sold, so I'm unsure if we can post it here. I have the cab file saved if needed. I also believe you can download it for free on MEdia Net.
I read that it uses SMS to send data, but I'm unsure if this is true. When I sign in my MEdia Net connection launches. Does anyone know for sure?
OZ Instant Messaging AKA in FUZE as PPC5.0 HTC Coke ATT.cab
Hi everyone, after looking for the messaging cab after clearing out the bloatware i wasn't able to find the file on the Fuze. I didn't want to download an old cab as this has a nice GUI on it that goes with rest. In the Fuze the name of the file is PPC5.0 HTC COKE ATT.cab. (aka Oz messaging). Navigating using your file explorer you will find it with a date of 01/15/09...632k. Hope this helps anyone looking for it. I don't know how to upload a cab on a site yet but as soon as I figure it out I'll post.
I tryed the OZ on 6.5 fuze rom EnergyROM Series 2.0 and you get txt msgs with errors.
Is there a way to put the stock yahoo in?

Google Map for i8000

Hi guys
I tried Omnia B7610 today and realised there is Google Map installed in the phone. My friend claimed it was pre-installed.
How can I find this Google Map app to install in i8000?
I went to Google but it stated that i8000 is not supported and have to use internet style instead.
Kind bro.... Pls advice.
Rgds
it should be preinstalled or at least the cab should be on your I8000 as default.
if not, you can get a copy on google @
xyz.google.com/mobile/maps/ ( sorry your going to have to mod that addresse as i cant put the link in directly being a noob here . take the XYZ out lol )
id go for the newer version as it suports now the internal GPS. the preinstalled google maps is ok but not as complete.
cheers.
You can just point your mobile web browser (other than built in explorer) to m.google.com and select maps.
For Google Maps install cab and others to;
- Go to Start -> Smart Search
- Select Web tab
you will see various cabs availalbe to install from both Google and Bing.
Hey.
I had the same problem. But I seriously just googled Google Maps App I8000 and took the first hit to download the app.
I didn't find the preinstalled version or the .cab on my phone, but if it doesn't support the internal GPS anyway it's good a got a newer version.
Very helpful stuff, thanks. I googled it but wasn't sure how to get working on my Omnia
