Extended battery pack made by HTC (for Diamond) - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Found this article on CNEt Asia (hope they don't mind) where there is mor than a rumor that HTCwill provide an extended battery pack, making the device more bulky.
http://asia.cnet.com/digitalliving/ask/0,3800004928,62042419,00.htm

let's hope it comes soon..

If it makes my device as Touch Pro... i prefer to buy a Touch Pro!
One of the things that make Diamond a special device is that it is NOT bulky!

seido will start making these things as well.
for example:
http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=879
and this doesnot make your diamond more bulky. according to seido they will have accessoires from the end of july.

I doubt that an extended battery would almost double the depth of the diamond. (Touch = 1.6x as deep as the Diamond) Even if it did, it would be optional. the keyboard part of the Pro isn't.
Since battey life is my only remaining concern with the Diamond, that 3rd party extended battery is sounding very good...

Shame that's the one for the Touch, then. ;-)
1200 mAh is probably more realistic for a Diamond drop-in replacement.

Though the size and placement of the stock 900mAh battery seems to be impossible to keep the same size for an extended one.
What I heard is that it will "look" (not as ugly) as the 2800mAh battery pack for the TytnII with a OEM back cover holding this chuncky battery.
i guess roughly a 3-4 mm thicker Diamond and +/- 35 gram more heavy.
Let's wait and see

Good search & find ! 2200mAh, now that is what we are talking about!
Looking forward to see how dimensions will be impacted.

Ye I bought it in my vision ...
Stock: Pre Order

Oké, sound nice - 2200 mAh is a big difference like to one we've got. I shall certainly follow this thread!

So for the 2200 battery do you need another back for the diamond? If so, where do you get it from?
Anyway, just posted a question on their side - will let you know the answer...

Extended genuine battery
I 've seen some advertisement quoting an extended battery for Diamond made by HTC, ref below:
htc103383 HTC Diamond Extenden battery 1340 mAh+ Battery Cover Black
the capacity should be fine and not transforming it into a bulky device.
HTH.

After 3 days of (intensive) use, I can see that a bigger battery is a must.
Of course, given the choice I'd go for the 2200

This is indeed in line with whath the Sales supervisor of HTC told nme earlier today here in Taiwan.
Though he was not sure if it was 1.200 mAh or more, the back would not become as thick as a TytnII.
Stock should be available from HTC genuine in around 2 weeks.
Taiwan has NO specific Diamond accesories YET as the device itself is delayed for launch for TW and China (bug's in device and QC does not release / produce them yet)
From the mouth of the horse as we speak.

Having just pre-ordered a Diamond dock - I'm hoping that it doesnt increase the size much otherwise it wont fit in!

I think i read they made a provision for it. Also the dock can charge a seconds battery. I'm still debating weather to buy a second slim battery or a fat one.

Is the pro much better than the diamond?

I've just had a touch on contract upgrade and I'm not that happy with it, don't get me wrong, the idea behind the phone is great, it has a lot of potential. Just you gotta tweak it loads before you even use it and even then it seems a little slow as the day goes on and also battery life is awful if you are actually using the phone. Other than the obvious keyboard and bigger battery size, what improvements are there with the pro? is it smoother running with less problems? Anyone got any experiance of using the two?
depends what you want - my diamond on latest stock rom is problemn free - pro would be too thick
thickness doesn't really bother me taht much I guess. My othe rphone is a nokia n95 8gb so the pro is actually still a bit thinner. I just want fast smooth and decent battery life when being used but I need windows os for some business software I run from time to time. Just seems that everything on the diamond munches battery power, I can get my dimaond to last more than a day now which is better, but if you start using features othe rthan just phone is seems to eat the battery very very quickly, the nokia 95 is bad but nowhere near as bad as teh Diamond. Just wondered if they had tweaked the os a bit to make it more efficient
the answer is YES!
Pro is much better!
What I've seen of the Pro for now has impressed me, but I was honestly put of by its size. The Diamond is an extremely slick gadget, but for business use: of course the Pro would be better. The Diamond is geared towards the commercial market, while the Pro is geared towards the business market.

Ooooh.....now taht seems more apealing, a standard keypad !!! The touch screen thing is all well and good but basic txt messages were a nightmare. Any ideas if thats available in teh uk on contract ? Although battery life looks similar to the diamond .....
But thats 'only' a smartphone
Can't believe it has a (just) bigger battery than the Diamond though!
I find texting on the Diamond to be dead easy - which is why I am convinced I wouldn't need the keyboard on the Touch Pro (used to have a Tytn II and barely used the keyboard on that!).
you say it's "only a smart phone" other than touch screen, what would I loose out on then?

Funny enough I only realised last night that the diamond didn't have one!
Does anyone know if Diamond Pro suffers from the same GPS navigation lag as Diamond?...
HastaSSSS
funny that people say that, all I've done to mine is updat eteh radio rom to teh recommended one and nothing else. I installed tom tom on it and ran it along side my nokia n95 with built in receiver (also running tomtom) and my tomtom 500 and in all fairness all three of them were withing a split second of each other on directions.....looks liek I don't get the lag issue.
Battery on Diamond CDMA Version
I have a Touch Diamond and have had for 7 days.
The battery sucks!!!
I cannot get 8 hours connected to EVDO network.
According to carrier, every application open sucks the battery juice.
On the Touch, the battery was decent, the stock battery you could get 6/7 hours with data on, Touch Diamond maybe 3 hours.
With quality aftermarket battery, I can get 8 hours with charge to spare, why?
What is the size of battery on Touch Diamond Pro?

the touch pro is using a 1350 mah battery...
Pro also got bigger RAM and dbl the ROM... Not sure how much does that affect the performance but I'm sure it would in a degree...
pro
200% of RAM and ROM of diamond
Better battery
flash light
microSD
only bad thing is thicker and heavier.

Will HD7 accessories fit on HD7S (extended battery, desktop charger, etc.)

I believe, I know the answer but hope that someone is able to confirm:
Will accessories for the HD7 fit on the HD7S as well?
I am looking to purchase an extended battery and desktop charger for the HD7S.
It appears that both devices have the exact same dimension but before I go ahead with my purchase, I hope that someone can please confirm.
Thank you in advance for any info.
The phones are pretty much the same. Couple of internal differences, but things like cases and the battery are the same.

Mugen doesn't have any extended batteries for the Note 2. Any other producer offering these so far?

search "air strike" in this forum, lol :silly:
I agree with both of you that it's damn irritating when an idiot keeps asking the question that's been asked a hundred times before...
The problem here is that if you browse the forum on the phone itself via either the xda or the xda hd app, their search functions are crippled, and you can't search in a forum. So the search gives you a million useless results from other forums.
Thus the only solution, it seems to me, is to just keep leafing through the forum threads manually and it doesn't seem to be easy to identify a result...

8500 mah battery - Is that even necessary? Do you really go that long without your charger?

Yes, it's really necessary. I use tte phone all day long, it's on permanently, screen on, without the charger.
That's why this battery is a godsend.

As ridiculous as it may seem, I kind of want one!
Maybe tomorrow. I was very surprised though how elegant the phone looks with this battery. It's the new back cover, has very smooth curves, I like it a lot...
I'm a heavy user, I love my 4600mah battery for my gs3, looks like I get the gn2 tomorrow; so i'm looking at this battery and drooling. I know exactly what you mean about fitting in your hand. I spend my time doing anything from navigation while making phone calls or streaming music, extensive skype usage, constantly in my browser.. fpse is my favorite pastime (and, in fact, why i want this phone, the extra screen will be perfect for gaming those dusty ps1 games in the closet). I've been known to blast my hulu or netflix anytime anywhere, and i like my screen on bright, with all my services running like gps constantly. I get 10-12hrs of screen time depending on my usage..
any way we could get some benchmarks? how much screen on time are we talking? are you gaming, or just reading a book, or streaming video?
No, I don't feel like benchmarking anything.
Basically I can confirm though that this battery is supposedly almost 3x the capacity of the stock one, and based on my experience so far this is indeed so. Thus, I think it's a high quality battery, and whatever you're doing with the phone, you'll be able to do almost three times as long.

Read some reviews and pick one; preferably bigger than 4000 mA.
On second thought, I guess you're looking for those models similar to Iphone battey cases. sorry , No idea where to find one, and I don't think these general power banks are too inconvenient to use

Yeah I was looking for an integrated iPhone-type case. I have a few of the external ones, but they aren't really practical on the go. I did find one case but it was 90$ so that's not a viable option...
Can you link me to that? I might try to get one.

Oneplus Hardware Back Mod + Larger battery

Hello there, I am pretty new to this forum so please advise me if there is anything wrong with this thread.
I own a oneplus 3 pretty much since the release date, and I have been very happy with it, except for the not optimal battery life.
Now, as you can take from the heading of this thread, I am thinking about rebleacing the back of my oneplus 3 with a larger one, idealy one that covers up the battery bump, so I can fit in a larger battery. Additionaly I probably will need to transfer the antennas, and do something about the speaker and microphone ports.
I would like to make the back out of aluminum via a cnc service online, but for prototyping a 3D printed solution would probably be sufficient. The other question is, where to find a battery that is larger than that in the oneplus 3s standart battery, but still beeing able to fit it inside the space made availible by the new hull.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this project, especially considering problems, that could occure.
I hope this project is interessting for some of you, and we can make the op3 even more awesome.

That wouldn't work since the battery is different voltage when charged fully. You're gonna have to find a 4.35V (max voltage, I think the nominal voltage is 3.8V) li-ion battery that is the same size in thickness and height but has deeper depth.
Anyways this project sounds like it could have some potential... I'd be really down to see a CNC machines aluminum back cover that can accomodate a larger battery. I would buy one in a heartbeat

Some guys did the swap in the lg nexus 5-they placed inside a lg g2s battery which is 3000mah vs 2300mah! It worked for them,so i think there is a chance for this swap also. Maybe we can also mess around with the kernel to make it work. All of this sounds easier than making new back cover

That's because the Nexus 5 and LG G2 batteries were the same voltage. This has already been tried and at first it didn't charge fully, then OnePlus implemented a safety feature that detects when a OP3T battery is installed and doesn't allow the phone to boot. We could make a kernel that charges to a higher voltage (the opposite of bedalus' BLX mod in his moxie kernel) but it could be dangerous and isn't worth the risk.
Little off topic but any good quality replacement batteries out there I can replace with?
I do love this idea but there's no way to avoid opening your phone, so be very hard to get everyone wanting one.

Well it's super easy to open this phone so it's not that big of a deal.
And check out witrigs.com, they seem to have good quality parts and have a replacement battery for this phone. I took the plunge and bought a new screen since I cracked mine real bad but it hasnt arrived yet, I'll be posting a review on it when it comes.
Actually I do not think, that the voltage would be such a large issue, as the voltage of a lion battery is changing constantly with its charge level, there probably is a voltage regulator of some sort in place anyway. I think that software would be the bigger problem, as phone manufacturers probably don't want you to make there phones better instead of buying their new ones
