Hi all,
I got my diamond in London (through Orange UK) , unlocked it , did hardspl, changed the radio to 05 and have now come to holidays in a country (Iran) whose network is 2G.
When I put the local SIM Card in Diamond , it recognizes the various networks and asks me to choose one and register. But as soon as I hit register, it tries to register for ages and finally fails to do so.
Is there anyway I can get over this problem and use the Diamond in Iran?
I also have my Hermes and Kaiser with me and they both work fine with the 2G network here in Iran.
Any help is highly appreciated.

just wanted to add the both my Kaiser and Hermes are also from Orange UK (but i've flashed hundreds of custom roms on them).
the Diamond, however, is still on the original rom. It might sound very stupid, but could it be because of the rom? i mean is it possible that by flashing a custom rom the device is able to register on a 2G network?
any idea ?

I got my Kaiser and from about two days got sometimes problem whit connect to network and to see sim card , its orange network. I put in that simcard to n95 and works exellent but not on kaiser ;/ Need i to change radio ?!
In my room nokia got full network but htc only one point ;/ first days when i got that pda everything was ok .... please help.

anybody now what happend whit my pda ? i dont now if i should give back kaiser to orange branch or try play whit radio but i think radio is new version so i really dont now what to do ;/
I'm not sure what is causing this but I would recommend replacing it if that is an option. For it to suddenly not get reception suggests to me a device fault, rather than reception issues.
If you are within the returns period, take it back for a new one. If not, then it might be worth flashing a new radio.
I found 1.27.12.32 and 15.32 work quite well with Orange.
Have you tried switching to GPRS rather than 3G to see if that makes a difference

So how do you work that one out?
does that mean that local cell is impervious to failure?
T-mobile has been having a lot of problems recently too and the call centre staff are not much use, i havent been able to make or receive phone calls for over a week (i have to dial and 15times before i can get through to anyone) and use my HSDPA properly it keeps cutting on and off, soo annoying!
So better way is give back to get new one , if that happend again i'll possible put in new radio se how is running. My N95 work's well in same place and got avalible 3G :/.

Problem Fixed By assistant from orange shop
3G And 3,5G don't work propertly in my Town in UK.
What Man in Orange shop did is only changed in Band Settings NETWORK TYPE : AUTO to *ONLY GSM*.
He said that some of phones has problem whit auto search proper network type.
Ex. N95 working well whit automatic selection but not my kaiser , sometimes tytn is lost and fully disconnect from network when trying swich to 3G mode.
Now My Tytn is working well but if i whant too use video konference i must swich manualy network Type to AUTO or WCDMA.
So i think my version of kaiser got a bug somewere but im thinking if that is on Radio or on Rom ?

mine is the same, at home I dont get a good enough 3G signal to make or receive calls, so have it on GSM, then if I want to use video calls or www switch it over. hence the reason I suggested it earlier on

Hi all!
No matter how muchever i try, the phone radio does not connect to my Mobile Network. It keeps saying "searching....." till eternity.
I was using Dutty's V4 + 1.27.12.32 radio.
Around 10 am i try to connect to gprs, and i am not able to, then i do a soft reset, and then i see that my phone cannot connect to my mobile network at all. My mobile network is AIRTEL, in India. The phone keeps saying "searching..." and never stops that and hence now i am not connected to my network.
I have flashed different radio roms since morning - .17, .11, .32 again but no luck. Then i reflashed it with Schaps latest 4.33 rom (wm6), but still no result.
Then i thought maybe my sim is bad, and so i put my wife's Vodafone sim, and that worked! (Vodafone works on a different band than Airtel. this i know coz i have a SonyEricsson Mobile handset 3g-enabled of "3" from australia which works only with Vodafone in India, and not with any other network)
Then i put my sim back and it doesnt work again. While my sim is working perfect in my wife's iPhone.
can someone please help me in this, and tell me what i can do?
i wonder if the phone is somehow network locked or something like that ?
i sure did HARDSPL when i first got the TILT one month back. I have also tried flashing with WM6.1 and its respective radios, but with no success.
I tried a new SIm card .. Didn't work.. I tried at&t card didn't work..
Finally I now have the old rom that came with it back on it incase I try to call the manafcature to see if they can fix it.. Please helppppp.. Will donate if some help me fix it. Thanks

hi all, i am hoping somebody can shed some light on this. My brother came from spain and he loved my phone and wants me to sell it to him. Its on O2 (UK) and unlocked and flashed few roms to it by now.
Whats strange is that it detects his card but wont register with any networks here even though his own phone does register with o2 and orange depends where he is.
Now i am confused as i thought open to all networks means he can use his own sim but didnt work, i even reset the phone and it detected his card and said it is configuring setting and need to restart but then no service.
Anyone can help? is it the ROM or am i missing some cabs?

I'm beat. I was up to silly o'clock this morning trying to get this thing working.
I purchased to unlocker from this site as I have no posts. I've tried many different roms and radios but I still get no service when I plonk in my o2 sim card.
I have a touch HD that was registered to the orange network that I bought off a friend of mine. I wanted it to work with o2 so I downloaded the unlocker program (paid for) and did all the updating and unlocking that entails.
I then tried a few different roms (even tried win 6.5 but my battrey was getting drained at a silly rate)
The problem I have is that whichever radio I get it's not working with my O2 sim card. I have the little G symbol but it keeps asking for data connection setting and the phone is showing no service. I have even tried radios from other phones with no luck. I'm on the offical htc 1,56,401,0 (43972) WEE rom at the moment and the 1.12.25.16 radio and I'm also getting the greenscreen at the load up but a quick on off fixes that.
I searched the forums but still no joy.
What do I have to do?
Please, you are my only hope.

I used to be Orange, had it unlocked, and am now on o2 with no problems. I use 1.17 radio but I don't think that's the issue

Tried the HSPL Wrapper on that thread, updated the radio to 1.17 but it's still showing no service. Any other ideas?

I just have O2 cards atm. Still now joy though.
I am a failure.
I've just done a cracking stew in the slow cooker. First time making dumplins. I can rebuild and format a PC in less that two hours but this thing has got me beaten. I suppose I could use it for an e-book reader.
I've now got SPL-1.56.Olnex on there with the blackstonehenge Rom.
and 1.17.25.09 radio but it still won't connect.
If anyone has any better ideas I will make them some stew and dumplins. Geographical location allowing, and if the gf lets me have friends round.

how old is the O2 simcard? i think this is the most likely cause
Yes, I already purchased the unlocker. I also tried a newer sim card that was a Christmas present. I'll nip out today and get a 99p sim card from another network. Any suggestions which would be best?

Yes, it registers and works with a vodaphone simcard. It also works with t-mobile but I can't send or recive calls on that (mightbe a sim thing with a need to top up or something) But a new o2 PAYG sim card and my old one still bringing up no service.
Anyone got any suggestions about any manual settings I can do?

Your operator does have any rom for Touch HD on their site? If it does, try it and see if it works.
Also read this page, seems to be an O2 rom for Blackstone devices http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone_Versions .

Hi henshu. Have you tried checking your band settings. Make sure they all are set to Auto. Tap on phone then options then band.
after flashin my htc touch diamond with spl olinex1.40 and had it rom english version my radio doesnt work (cant reach my carrier). i am in albania, europe. and my carriers here are: eagle mobile, vodafone, amc. i have proved the three of these; manually too. when i manually search for a network i find these 3 in the list, but when i select one to register with; it does not.
it was in sweedish & i turned it into english
please.. need help.
ps. i have tried many radio roms but the same again. i cant reach my network.
and i am trying other roms.
what should i do??
my device become hot when trying to search for network.
