3G with Rogers Network - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I am currently a Rogers user in Canada. Is there anybody who has experience using TD for Rogers 3G network? Does it work? Currently my TD only detects Edge or GSM. No 3G sign yet.
Also anybody is using the Rogers $30/6GB plan with TD?
Thanks in advance.

No sorry, not at the moment, but hopefully with radio updates.
Not on that plan either, pay as you go for me!

Quick question about HD7: is US version supports Rogers network in Canada + 3G?
You can use the phone on Rogers, but you will NOT get 3G. Trust me I'm using the phone with FIDO right now, and all you will get is Edge. The T-Mobile bands for 3G are different than Rogers/FIDO. I beleive you can run the phone quite nicely on Wind Mobile network and get 3G.

Will a T-mobile Nexus one work on Bell Mobility (Canada) network

Is it possible to get a T-mobile N1 to support the 3G Bands 850/1900 that the bell network supports? I know it is possible to flash different radios with android phones. I am still a fairly new user to android but i'am trying to learn and u can't learn with out asking questions
Thanks,
Ryan
You won't get 3G. You need the AT&T version for Telus/Bell/Rogers. You could try Wind or Mobilicity.
well that sucks, neither of those are in Nova Scotia where i am located
You could always try to look for someone to trade with, AT&T for Tmobile Nexus.
But it would probably be hard to do in person if there is no demand for it in Nova Scotia.
I don't know how safe it would be to trade by mail.
Any plans that Wind or Mobilicity will come to Nova Scotia? Just curious.
You could get it to work on Rogers GSM network but you won't get 3G, I could be wrong but I don't think Bell or Telus have GSM networks so you're out of luck there.
Oh yeah, there is that little snafu too. Even worse.
It will work on Rogers but you won't get 3G speeds.
It won't work at all on Bell/Telus.

So are you saying his Tmobile won't work on Bell/Telus at all?
But an AT&T will work fine on Telus, with 3G as well?
I am considering buying a nexus one for when I switch to telus next month.
Yes, the T-Mobile version will only work on Rogers/Fido with 2G only.
It will not work on Bell/Telus at all, ever.
It will only work on 3G on Wind Mobile and Mobilicity.
If you want full Rogers/Telus/Bell support, you need the AT&T version.

If you're a Canadian and you want a "Nexus One-like" experience on Bell/Telus/Rogers, and you're having trouble finding one with the right 3G bands...
Get an HTC Desire from Telus. Problem solved. If you don't like Sense UI you can flash it with all sorts of ROMs that will make it feel more like an N1, or you can put MIUI on it, or Cyanogen, etc...
Or according to mobile syrup(can't link) the nexus S will be on the big 3 in march

Unlocked HD7 Question

Just picked up an HD7 for real cheap wanted to play around with it however I have ATT I got the phone unlocked and receiving data but I am only at edge speeds any way to get the 3g to work thanks in advance!
It sounds to me like the unlocked phone you got was a T-Mobile model. T-Mobile and AT&T use different frequencies for 3G so it simply isn't possible to use a phone from one on the other and still get 3G service. Yeah, it works both ways, you can't get 3G on an unlocked iPhone with T-Mobile, for example.
Depends on the phone. Unlocked Vibrant works on ATT 3g
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
If your phone was from TMo-US, you'll only get EDGE, as Tmo uses 900/2100. ATT uses 850/1900. You need a Telstra/Bell unlocked HD7.
Look at your "About" screen. T9295 is what you should see. T9292 is TMo-US.
Hi all,
I also got T9295 from AT&T,
I'm in France but I can't run 3G, only edge.
Any Idea?
Is it a Hardware limitation or just software?
thanks in advance for your help.

it's a hardware limitation, no way on earth you can run 3G on your AT&T HD7S, unless if you have an operator that uses the same frequencies as ATT
Thanks for your fas reply.
much appreciated!!

Yeah, but the ATT HD7S has some HW limitations, and it only support 1900MHz

[Q] Flashing different modem

Hi guys just a quick question.
I have a Telstra SGT from Australia and I'm currently travelling around the US and want to buy a T mobile sim to use the 4g network while I'm here. I would like to flash the T Mobile modem during the overcome flashing process but I'm just wondering if this is possible or if it will cause any problems for my tab?
You will only get 2g/EDGE at best. The tab is only a 3g radio. Your tab won't be able to get 3g though because your tab is not comatible with t-mobile 1700/2100 bands.
You can buy an at&t sim and get 3g and voice.

Thanks so much for your help rangercaptain. I was unsure about the tab's bands and was hoping it was the same as the T Mobile ones. Oh well, I guess I'll just stick with AT&T. Thanks again for your kind assistance!

[Q] Will a T-Mobile Nexus One get 3g in UK?

I have the T-Mobile N1 (1700/2100 I believe) and was wondering if it would get 3g on any service provider in the UK, and if so what service provider(s) will it work on? Any help would be appreciated, thanks
Yes, your Nexus One is fully compatible with all GSM/UMTS providers in Europe - you won't have to worry about supported frequencies.
so I'll get 3g on all of them as opposed to edge?
Yes, you will be able to get UMTS ("3G") reception wherever it is available and will be able to use the faster data standards HSDPA and HSUPA on your Nexus One, just like with T-Mobile US, on all networks.

that's great. thank you so much for the reply
I know you've got your answer now but just so you're certain I live in England and bought my N1 back in January, straight from America on their T-Mobile network. Been using both Orange UK and GiffGaff (on O2 network) since then for 3G without a problem.
cool. thanks for confirming this
