Can't install - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

I am new here and am trying to install a cooked rom to my tilt. I have followed the instructions to the Tee. I know I have to install jumpspl, then hard spl first. However, I am not able to get passed the first step. When I attemp to install the jumpspl I get an error message: "the file cannot be opened because either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found." It also said to restore the file or reinstall. I've been searching around for answers and all I get is to do a hard reset. Is this true? Can some please provide me with specific instructions on installing a cooked rom. I have NO experience with this. I really want to do this, but have been having a very hard time. I been working on this thing for hours. Please help. And please no smart comments. I really need help.

Try this eidt HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies] Change value 0000101a from 0 to 1 you will need a registry editor for this..search around and you'll get some options to choose from.

OK I am sorry but this sounds like a foreign language to me. Can you use layman's terms please.

ok follow the below steps:-
1) Search for a program called PHM registry Editor
2) Download the file and store it in your phone
3) Run the file and install program
4) Once installed open the program you will see a screen with folders like HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, HKEY_CURRENT_USER etc etc.
5) Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies
6) Change value of 0000101a from 0 to 1
cant make it clearer than this.. best of luck

There are many ways to approach the problem all documented within the following post and the wiki. The problem you are incountering is the nbf file needs to edited using the xda3tool to match your device (which I believe most fail to do) or you can use the following as it is about as easy as it gets:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=152288#152288
After installing WM5, copy the following to the device and execute to eliminate the sound/speed problems of the SX66:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=152533#152533
Many other fixes can be added on top the one above, but this is the most important for the SX66.
Cannot run SX66_remove_camera_reg.cab
Hi, thank you very much for solving my first problem, but now I can't seem to be able to run the remove cameral cab, everytime I run it it shows installation was unsuccessful, but other cab files install just fine? Any help is very appreciated.
Re: Cannot run SX66_remove_camera_reg.cab
Try this cab file. I had changed the registry directly with the resco registry editor. When I used the posted cab file I got the same error message.
Sorry, I can't seem to download it...
I'll try again.
Wow, thanks alot, I didn't get the chance to try it out, but I did remove the reg entryes using tre.

DOC repartitioning question.

How do you repartition the memory back to the original size after you have resized it with repart_DOC? Or to put it simply, how do you undo a repartitioned memory after using repart_DOC?
You have to down grade to WM2003 and re-run the tool. Its a pain in the ass I know, I had to do the same thing!
try
1. Download mtty v1.42 from http://files.pdamobiz.com/ROMs/XDA/mtty1.42.rar
2. Stop ActiveSync, by Task Manager (press Ctrl + Alt + Delete)
kill two processes rapimgr.exe and wcescomm.exe
3. put your device into Bootloader Mode by pressing Power + Record Button and Soft Reset.
4. Run mtty (from downloaded) Choose WCEUSBSH001
5. type "set 14 0" without the quotes to tell bootloader to boot the OS after reset.
6. type "task 28" to get your device formatted
7. type "task 0" to ask your device reboot
8. take the device out of the cradle, and manually reset it if it does not do that already.
good luck.
imatrix
again, i've allready said this (not your fault, he made about 5 threads asking theis question -.-)
Okay, I followed the instructions regarding mtty but after I reset, strange things happened. First the boot image had some horizontal lines accross it, then I got messages like CALENDAR FLASH MANAGER, and TASK FLASH MANAGER and CONTACTS FLASH MANAGER. The extrom failed to launch as well. When I tried to reinstall a shipped rom, it could not recognize the device giving me an Error 100.
Please help.
Error 100 means country code error or something like that.
just use MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe tool to upgrade it, should be fine. and if u have a sd card, take it out too, just in case.
imatrix
Using MaUpgradeUT_noID did the trick. But is it still possible to return it back to being able to run BAUpgradeUt?

Just a thought bit if you're having this much trouble trying to get an upgrade to work for you, perhaps you should just leave things alone..? Afterall, we've all learned from the wiki how to do things and I'm sure that if you do the same you should soon be in a position to assist others in the same..
When I used to have more hours in the day, I used to advise people on the following:
MrPhilly (originally) said:
Hi Dave - Welcome.. Remember, we all have to start somewhere..
The first thing I would recommend is reading.. I'm not too sure if you've discovered the Wiki on here but this is truely the best place to start..
So, simple links:
Start here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel
A link from this page (titled Getting Started With Your Blue Angel) will lead you to updating your BA to where it will be of most benefit.
This is where you need to start thinking of what's of more use to you.. I, for example, have not updated my BA to WM2005 (or WM5 as it's more commonly known) as I would not be able to Sync with my Work PC easily. In other words, the latest is not always the best! You need to think of how you're going to use your BA and by trial and error, get to your own conclusions. Although saying that, feel free to seek advice on how others have reached a similar conclusion.
If a "seach" (top of the screen - Highly recommended  ) doesn't reveal an answer you're looking for then a simple post with something like "Having problem "X".. Anyone else have it..?" is a lot better then "NEEDED - ANSWER TO MY WORRIES!"
This is outlined here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=4534
My second piece of advice is to make sure you know what you're doing.. If fiddling with yor BA is going to lead you somewhere you don't know then perhaps fiddling with it is not what you should do. I don't want to see posts from you stating "HELP - MY BA's BU**ERED!" because you thought that Reading Wiki was for saddos
Remember - Don't run before you can walk..
Tip for Hearing problem - Turn on the Bluetooth and keep it on.. This is a well documented tip for solving the issue.. Updating to the 1.42.00 Spec ROM will also help too but you're right in saying that it will give you the T-Mobile settings.. What you can do there is use the search facility to find if someone has posted a .CAB file with the Orange SMS/MMS Settings
So, start reading..
Hope this helps..?
Cheers,

Someone Please Help Me :) (ExtROM question)

Alright.
Here is what I have done up until now.
I searched this forum trying to find out how to unlock my ExtRom.
I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1424566&postcount=374
I downloaded the zip files followed the directions and NADA. It keeps giving me some error.
I am a pretty smart cookie. I have been a network engineer for 8 years. I will be more then willing to help someone else out who can help me.
Thanks in advance
David
Just be sure to install the CAB's on the device, and soft reset after every install. Never managed to make it NOT work on my Treo
K i installed both. And did a soft reset after each one.
Now what?
Use Total Commander to empty the ExtendedRom

launch the unlock sw you find in programs
softreset
delete the files in extrom
softreset
the files in extrom are gone ? ---> hardreset
the files in extrom are still here ----> recheck the previous step(s) and try again
One little question...
works in WM5?

That was exactly the pattern I followed about a dozen times, but continued to get 2 different error messages which told me to soft reset and try again every time I tried to launch the extendedROM application in Programs. Since I wouldn't have lost much more time to reflash my 750 if the worst happened, I took the chance of deleting the extendedROM files and partition with the standard File Explorer and hard reset the unit. Now, it's plain vanilla and no hiccups.
I get a error.
Insetkey failed when i run the prgram in the programs.
it says please reset the device then do it again.
I hit the reset button do it again and same error.
Any better ideas?
Do it again 3 or 4 times and more (if you get same message).
Then, you will see the another message.
I did it 100 times reset it I dozen times..
It does not work at all.
Is there another work around???
I got the Extended rom to work, but my questions are such...
what exactly does the extended rom do?
what is the benefits of having extended rom?
and is there a way to have more than 8.57 mb?

same here. ran the unlocker many times with reset after each.
first message is "insertkey failed! please reset device then do it again"
followed by "changeprotectiontypefailed. please reset device then do it again"
followed by "unprotect finish! please reset device"
after rest I still see all the 3 stuff and only UMTS in the Band Selection. does this mean it's not unlocked?
I manually deleted the 2 files from the Partition under Extended Rom, using File Explorer.
Am I missing something?
Any help will be appreciated.
Y.
After removing the 2 files from the unlocked ExtROM, should a small 32k filenamed 'ExtROMCopy.exe' remane under the Windows dir? Viewiing its properties from Resco shows the file is in Rom and is Read-only, fwiw.

So are you saying that it is not necessary to do the whole ExtRom unlocker thing??
Using file explorer, I found the files "ExtROMcopy" @ 32.1K but I don't see any way to delete it. I cannot find any type of partition. I also found "AT&T Icons" @82.2K and it is possible to delete that one. Or am I totally missing the boat somehow......

Is ther Cabs installation tutorial????

I've searched and I've asked and no one wants to help...Could someone please point me in the direction that I need to be in
Purpose
Sliding sounds
Games
and other applications..
Thanks
LOL
Are you really asking how to install a CAB file????? No wonder no one wants to help you..............
First transfer the CAB file to your phone/storage card(remember where you put the file, you will need to know to locate it on the phone).
Go to Start, Programs, and File Explorer.....Navigate to the folder you put the CAB file into and OPEN it, once opened it will automatically start installing.
I am assuming based on your question that its probably gonna ask you if you really want to install because it might not be a trusted certificate just click YES
Now its going to ask you where to install to.....option 1 the DEVICE.........option 2...........Storage Card(if you don't have a storage card then obviously there will be no options and it will just install)
Last, If you can't perform any of the above steps PLEASE don't even try OR attempt anything on this forum. Thread should be closed.
lol..kobe u went in too much detail trying to explain that..
man you have some patience..nice
i would have just said run the cab file from your phone..lol
Smoka PM me i'll make a video and send it to you so you can see how it's done.
No offense, but I'm a Noob on this forum and I know how to install a cab. BTW, I'm a girl.
Redundant thread alert ***
Why would you start another thread asking the same question when you got more than an answer in your original thread....

Send me your phone and I'll install it for you....
Lol chapman. Play nice. I was trying to help the super noob.

Backing Up Rom during the buildos+package_tools phase, I get a warning

I am using Windows Vista, and I am under my Admin account. My Xperia is an X1a and I reside in the U.S..
I wanted to backup my ROM so, I followed the tutorial here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=462926
So far, trying to backup the damn ROM on my X1 has been like mind rape.
I was able to extract the raw files.
I was also able to extract the rom files from these raw files.
But I failed to proceed pass this step.
So I need some help on getting pass this step:
It'll start up the buildOS + Package tools program.
- Select the buildos tab.
- Select "load rom" and navigate to your kovskykitchen folder.
- Press ok.
Click to collapse
My problem however, is that I get these warnings (or possibly error):
Could not find file "C:\KovskyKitchen\ROM\OS.NB"
Click to collapse
But I was given a prompt telling me to ignore this requisite and continue. So I clicked on continue and got this other warning:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Click to collapse
I have attached screen shots to provide for more specific details.
The 1st image is the first warning when I Loaded Rom from the KovskyKitchen folder.
The 2nd image is the second warning when I click go.
The 3rd image is proof that I did the extraction right!
The 4th image is the screen I get for waiting hours and hours of nothing happening (after I ignored the two warnings and press continue)
Other information
1) I also tried to do it by right clicking on the buildos+package_tools-2.7 and running as administrator
2) I do not have Windows XP
3) Please help help help me! Don't indulge in my misery!!!!
Update
Updates, I just watched the video tutorials on how to back up the X1 ROM courtesy of BioVolt. Every single thing he did was the exact same things I did in backing up my ROM. Except I used SKTools for the registry changes.
What the heck is going on here?
Problem Solved... I used a different Stock ROM
