Diamond Bluetooth HeadSet Bug - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Ok, not sure if anyone got the same problem as mine, but here is my problem:
I have a Diamond using AZTOR v7 Rom, radio vBS14 if that matters and Sony Ericsson DS205 as my headset. I start my bluetooth on my diamond and can pair up with the DS205 without any problem. I can also listen to music without lag and sound is also crystal and solid.
When there is a call kicks in, I can answer the call by pressing a button on my DS205..... However, the problem comes when I end my call, the headset will be disconnected afterward and I have to manually press a button on the DS205 to make it reconnect. Each time when I make a call or when I receive a call the headset will be disconnected.
Luckily (or not), I found a workaround: Whenever I pair up my headset, I need to go to Setting -> Bluetooth -> and "Refresh" the services that I want to enable on the DS205 headset. That involves un-checking the services enabled (including "Wireless Stereo" and "Hands Free") and re-checking the services again. After I have done this "resetting", the disconnection problem I described above will be gone.....
Each time I restart the phone or have the bluetooh disabled on the phone, I need to go through that manual procedure again to make my headset work perfectly.
As you can imagine, that is quite annoying.......does anyone have the same problem as me?

I don't have this problem, but i have another problem, when i use the orignal rom, i can use my headset(jabra bt3030) in my diamond and it will automatically connect to use hands free and wireless stereo mode when i turn on bluetooth, so when i change to use swift 7.5 full rom, i have to resetting the bluetooth in diamond everytime when i close bluetooth

I can only get wireless stereo for my Plantronics Bluetooth Stereo headset. Any ideas why I can't get hands-free. Radio issue?
It was possible with some earlier ROM, but I can't remember which... (yes, I'm a flashing addict).

I'm having the same exact problem & it's annoying as hell. At this point, I can't get the bluetooth function on the phone to activate at all. I use the same bluetooth on another phone with no problems whatsoever, so I know it's the phone. I'm running the original rom.....not a flasher.

Have you tried Jetware?

Sorry, just installing this doesn't change anything. Still no hands-free.
Is there a specific option you want us to set?

Yes - I have a very similar problem with my jabra SP700. The Diamond 'forgets' the wireless bluetooth mode every time I disconnect the two devices (although the Stereo Bluetooth icon is still showing in the status bar).
For a short while I was having to re-pair the devices every time I got in the car - until I found the same workaround as you.
There must be a proper solution???

Hello, I had that problem in my HTC Diamond with Pioneer DEH-700bt and my jabra 3030 and she solves when changing in the registry the key to it that identifies the device in pocketpc HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/Sys the key "COD" and I introduced the value decimal 5898764 that identifies the device in smartphone
luck

Multiple bluetooth connections?

I wonder if anybody knows if it is possible to have two (or more) divices connected at onceon a Blue Angel?
eg. Tom Tom 6 plus a hands free connection.
I have tried every configuration I can think of, different ports ect, but to now avail.
With the gps connection up and running, as soon as you turn on the hands free , the gps connection link is lost, turn off hands free and it will resume connection.
I am using BA WM5 AKU3.5 R4 - xplode's excellent rom
In GPS settings
Program is using COM 5
Hardware is using COM 0
Manage GPS settings set to Auto
In Device settings,
BTGPS unit is on COM 0 (Serial box ticked)
Hands free is unassigned
Any help will be much appreciated.
any idea's anyone?
On Last Baniaczek's ROM I made an experiment just a moment ago: BlueAngel, Navigation system (Polish one, Automapa), plus GPS on Bluetooth and A2DP headset - first connected headphones, then added GPS (using automatic GPS connection - it's M$ Stack) - Everything seems to be working fine. I thought it was a bit unstable at first, but AD2P stops sending data, when there is no sound from the device.
GPS Settings are default: COM6 for applications and GPS has COM7 assigned on Hardware tab and in Bluetooth outgoing port. Quite seamless.
then I made the 2nd one: same headset connected in Handsfree mode: indeed turning on navigation made it connect and disconnect every few seconds.
For me it seems to be fault of M$ BT stack: it cannot hold 2 similar streams on BT (COM and Handsfree/Headset are both typical serial connections of highest priority in BT stream). At the same time it can cope easily with two different streams (A2DP is lower priority, high-bandwidth BT connection).
I'm not sure, but I think when I used old Helmi 1.3.2 with Widcomm stack it could cope with GPS and Handsfree at the same time, but it needs more testing.
jakubd is right it is limitation in MS BT Stack
Don't give up and it should start to work. I have similar problem with BT GPS and BT headset. GPS goes on and off while headset is on. And than I try to switch headset off and on, BT off and on, GPS off and on and after some time it start to work together with no problem. It takes first 10-15 minutes of my voyage but then it works for the remaining few hours.
Sorry, but I still didn't find out what combination make it work. If I do, I will post it here as workaround.
And I'm almost sure that I had no such problem with Helmi 1.4 ROM.
Thanks guys,
have tried every configuration I can think of, but its always the GPS connection that is dropped, not the hands free, this would not be a problem if it was just when you are answering a call. The GPS reconnects only when you disconnect the hands free connection. ?
Has anyone Successfully used the Widcomm stack with this type of setup?
I am sure alot of members would find this usefull if it can be made to work!
This is my experience:
ROM : Helmi_BA_WM2k5_AKU3.5_v1.4.CF2.R2 (baniaczek)
Tom Tom 6
GPS : Bluetooth
Headset : Nokia BH-300
When the headset is on and connected, the GPS doesn't work (TT say no GPS found). When I turn off the headset, the GPS is working.
With ActiveSync I have the same problem: when the headset is turned on, I can't establish a connection with the PC via bluetooth.
BUT!
If I use a different headset, a Logitech HS03, all is working fine. I can leave the headset on and the GPS is working. I can receive incoming calls with no problem (using the headset) while I'm driving without loosing GPS signal.
With ActiveSync is the same: I can connect my PC with the headset on.
I have no idea why there is this difference with these two headsets, but one is working and the other no. I don't know if the problem is the MS BT stack, but my test demonstrates that under some circumstances this stack could manage more than one connection at time.

Bigmike, my point exactly. As I wrote in my post I keep turning on and off until finally it works. So there are some circumstances under coexistence is possible.
It seems that devices try to use same port which means that first device does not reserve port for itself. I am not an expert but it seems if we could somehow force devices to use different ports problem would be gone.

If this works with one set and doesn't work with another, it might be connected to list of profiles supported by the headset:
1. Headset - HSP - more common, typical profile for use with cell phones (supports AT commands)
2. Handsfree - HFP - audio-centric, used mostly in cars, less common
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_profile
My SonyEricsson HBH-600 has both profiles (checked with services list on SonyEricsson phone), but I don't know how to select which profile is used by headset.
Just a thought...

I hope you haven't misunderstand my previous post. I haven't in mind to minimize the value of your post (very useful is someone will try to investigate about this problem).
I was thinking that somebody, reading your contribute, could wrongly think: “you're are a lucky guy and turning on-off the headset repeatedly you crash some library and the two devices are working together”.
My intention was to remark the fact that under some circumstances the headset and the gps can connect together every time and always at first try: it's not lucky, crash or random events.

I have a similar thought.
It seems to me that some times ago I have read that it should be possible to change some profile's parameters “playing” with the registry.... but I could be wrong...

Couldn't agree more. And I think it's worth trying to resolve it.
Multiple BT connections - solution?
I think I find a solution for this, or maybe we can call it workaround. At least it works for me.
As I wrote in my previous posts, I could make it work every time just didn't know how. Now I established repetable procedure which worked every time for reasonable number of experiments.
Secret was to turn on BT headset (in my case Plantronics) and BT GPS device (Haicom 406-BT) and GPS program (iGo) first, and then go to Comm Manager and turn bluetooth on.
So my procedure is:
1. make sure that BT is off in Comm Manager
2. turn on BT headset
3. turn on GPS device
4. open iGo program
5. minimize iGo
6. turn on BT in Comm manager
7. open iGo and make sure it's connected
8. go to phone and call myself just to make sure it works
9. back to iGO and make sure it works
If 8 or 9 fails for the first time, just turn BT off and on again in Comm manager and check it again. I never need to do this more than twice.
Try this, guys, and good luck.
P.S. I don't know if it matters, but make sure that in Settings/Connections/GPS "GPS program port" and "GPS hardware port" is set to (None) and "Manage GPS automatically" unticked.
Very good! Many thanks Sassa!
I have tried for two times your procedure and both tries worked very well (with TomTom6 and Nokia BH-300)
I use a slightly different procedure:
1. BT off in Comm Manager
2. turn on BT headset
3. turn on GPS device
4. turn on BT in Comm manager
5. open TomTom 6 (wait some seconds and make sure it's connected)
6. go to phone and call myself (on the first call the headset is disconnected)
7. back to TomTom and make sure it works
I have noticed a different behavior of the BT headset having the BT always on (in Comm Manager) and using this procedure... but I need to make some tests before writing more.

$100 if you fix it: Loss of speaker audio after BT connections

Hi all, I have had this bug in varying flavours with both the Wizard and now the Kaiser.
If I make a call via Bluetooth (certain devices only e.g. JVC in car stereo), after the call, all audio is lost on the device when using the speaker, e.g. no ringtones, no TomTom voice guidance. (Oddly the touchtone sounds on the phone dialler continue to work.)
Making another call via Bluetooth works fine and all audio is heard, but not if calling via the earpiece of the phone - all phone audio is still muted. A reboot is required. (Even after a reboot, sometimes all audio is muted, and 2 or 3 reboots are required.)
It is like Bluetooth is 'stealing' the audio from the phone's speaker (which is should), but not giving it back at the end, however turning off Bluetooth doesn't return it.
It happens with WM6.x on the TyTN II.
If you can fix it either via a workaround (reboot the audio service after every call?) or a direct fix (HTC are useless and have not emailed me back), I will pledge you $100 via PayPal. I am sure others will join me in pledging an amount also.
Yes. I've seen the same thing with the last stock Tilt ROM, too.
Same here. But is not happening very often.
The other issue for me is if I have A2DP enable and listening to music, then making a phone call will drop the A2DP connection and I have to reconnect A2DP again. It happens to both my JVC car unit and Sony HBH DS220.
I tried that w/ Dutty's WM6.0 and the latest 6.1 rom
I have the same issue, with bluetooth disconnects.
Just staying on-topic here (you can solve A2DP issues with A2DPToggle a great free app), has anyone found a solution to this Bluetooth loss of speaker audio issue, or a workaround to avoid it happening?
Rebooting the phone after every Bluetooth phone call is hardly what I consider a high-end smartphone to require.
Same here
What Radio's are you guys running? (Ignore my signature for the moment, been phoneless and away from here for a while and just getting back up to date )
Haz
My current radio is 1.64.08.21.
I have also tried 1.64.06.04.
Could we be closer to finding the problem? Does the Radio contain the Bluetooth stack?
Here are all available Radios:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_Radio
I'm going to try 1.58.26.20 now. I suggest others try the other 1.5x variants and report back if any of them solve the bug.
Update: I am now offering $100 to anyone who can fix this - see 1st thread.
I have used Windows Mobile since the first ever SPV phone. This one issue is making me look seriously at abandoning that loyalty and getting a Blackberry. If I can fix this for $100 I could be tempted to stay however.
Have you tried BT Audio Toggle ? (found at http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/sams...luetooth-headset.html?perpage=20&pagenumber=1)
Maybe if this helps with your problem then a mortscript could be written to automatically run the utility after a phone call.
What bluetooth headset do you have? Have you tried other headsets or just the one you have? What version of 6.1 are you using?
Thanks, I'll give the audio toggle a go. Might need some help with Mortscript though
I am using the JVC KD-BT1 car stereo with Bluetooth in-car kit. However I can also lose audio on a clean boot even when not in the car, although that is very rare. When using it with the car stereo, it happens after almost every call.
I am running Sleuth's WM6.1 but the other people in this thread are using a variety of BT devices, ROMs, and HTC models.
Can anyone help with how to create a MortScript to run BTAudioOff.exe after each phone call?
Flash a NIKI radio. I had a similar issue with my JVC in-dash CD player and I just got all the radios and tried them all. All the NIKI radios seem to work a lot of the time, while some work and others don't.

Okay I tried this and before I even got in the car, chose to turn Bluetooth Audio off using the toggle. Since then I cannot recreate the issue! I am not having to toggle after every call, I only did it once and the problem won't come back!
Fingers crossed...
NP. 1 more thing. What do you mean all audio is lost? Do you mean that the auido goes through the bt device? Or just that there is no audio coming from either at all. If that's the case, then all you might have to do is go to Comm Manager>Settings>Bluetooth>JVC (or whatever you named it) and uncheck the Stereo sound and viola it should work unless you are not using A2DP >.> . I think it's either directing all sound to your bt device or trying to send sound to it but failing.

The issue is there is no audio coming from either the phone or the Bluetooth device. I hear the Bluetooth device disconnect, and its display shows that it has also.
I see no 'Stereo' option to untick for the JVC in its Bluetooth settings, only Hands-free and Wireless Stereo (already unticked).
No progress
Okay, this is seriously getting me down now It all sounded so promising. I have tried the following:
Flashed Niki Radio 1.58.21.23
Tried using Bluetooth Toggle - it seemed to work once when I turned BT off before connecting, but after a reboot the problem is back
Tried a HFP extension PM'd to me (thanks anyway - didn't help)
Made sure Bluetooth Stereo is unticked in the JVC's settings on the phone
I am not sure if the problem is worse when taking a call as TomTom is running.
Here is an interesting development which might help someone narrow down the cause:
I make a few calls, and as always audio is lost, even for phone calls sometimes.
Touchtones on the keypad are the only sound that the phone continues to emit itself. Everything else (TomTom, ringtones, etc.) is dead.
I then go into the JVC's A2DP mode and 'Connect'. The icon appears on the mobile's title bar, and I can hear phone audio through the car stereo.
I 'Disconnect' and the phone's audio is still lost.
What this tells us is that the phone is putting out sound, just not through the speaker.
If someone can write something that will reset the speaker driver after a call, my offer for $100 still stands.
Just to update this, the issue still exists with a clean install of HTC's new 2-May-08 WM6.1 ROM from their website. To***rs!
CJSnet,
Since we got the similar setup w/ exact the same issue (Att Tilt w/ JVC BT-1), I think the problem is basically Kaiser does not switch back to A2DP profile properly after headset profile from phone call. The same issue happens to my Sony HBH DS-220 stereo headset too.
I tried my Eten M600 w/ JVC BT-1 and does not see this problem

Disconnect Bluetooth after call

Hello,
I searched a program for my Kaiser that disconnects a BT device, such as carkit or headset, when a call is finished.
With disconnecting I mean that the device is not connected anymore at that moment.
So when I have an incoming phonecall, I have to push to connect my BT device to my phone. Then I can pick up the phone with my device.
Who knows were I can find this?
Thanks,
Temba
Hmm, I don't see the point.
When an incoming call is received, before it starts ringing the Kaiser will look for a known paired BT device, if it is on but not connected it will connect it automatically. If it's not on at that moment you're out of luck for that call.
Just leave your device connected... you should already have to push on your device to take the call, no?
Kilrah,
The point is that when I end a call, I want that my BT device disconnects from my phone. Reason is that when I walk to my car, I want to use my BT carkit and not my headset.
Maybe I had to ask how I can unpair a BT device from my phone after a call. But 'unpairing' is for me that I have to enter a pincode every time I want to connect.
Any ideas?
Temba
Hi,
This is an issue between HTC Windows Mobilie devices and carkits equiped with a parrot chip.
As far as I've understood all Windows Mobile 6.1 devices are affected.
I myself have a Kenwood DNX 8220 BT Double DIN Head Unit in the car but there are more Head Units and carkits that make use of the Parrot chip CK5050 if I'm not mistaken.
Does anyone have a tweak or a registry setting that is able to fix this?
I've allready tried to change the COD registry value to: 52020C which is suggested as a solution in a parrot forum topic:
http://www.parrot.com/forums/english/viewtopic.php?id=5620
It didn't solve the issue

Oops, had missed this reply back then. I know it's way old, but as someone brought this thread up again, never know if you might read it...
AFAIK this isn't possible. If you have 2 BT devices, paired and powered on but not connected, when a call is received / placed form the phone it will use the last one that has been either connected or selected and "Set as hands free" in the BT settings. If you want to make sure the phone connects to one of them without you going in the BT settings and set it as hands free, you need to turn the other one off.

Pairing the Bluetooth with Jabrasp700?

Hi All,
I just got a Jabra SP700 after pairing it with my Kaiser everything works fine ( making a call, receiving a call, Playing music through FM radio and TT navi. through the radio). The problem is when I disconnect the devices and turn them both on they will reconnect automatically but I can't hear anything through the SP700 ( FM Radio ). I will have to delete the device from the phone and pair it again in order to make it work.
Is there a better software for managing the bluetooth connections?
Open to any suggestions.
Thanks.

I have the same problem with my SP700 and my Tritton BT stereo headset.Phone calls work almost all the time through the SP700 speaker, but playing music or through the FM radio seems to be a problem. I can get them to pair up sometimes by only checking the Wireless Stereo box. It works for a few times, but then I have to delete and re-pair again.
I've searched for all over for answers, but nothing seems to be a permanent fix. It's very frustrating to use my devices for anything else but phone calls.
Just to add a bit of info, I do not have any problems with my old Motorola HS820. Of course, I'm not using SP700.
Hope that helps your troubleshooting.
I have exactly the same problem with hte SP700 connecting to a Touch HD.
I notice there is a software upgrade for the SP700 on the Jabra site but I can't get to apply it because I lack a driver to allow the PC to recognise the JAbra SP 700.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Possible solution
Hi
I have had similar problems with the SP700. I was using the Hyperdragon III before the current ROM (in signature). With my old ROM I found that the following method worked:
1) Turn on the SP700
2) Wait for it to make one low tone
3) Turn bluetooth onto discoverable mode on the phone
4) The device then automatically connects over both Hands Free and Wireless Stereo protocols
5) Turn discoverable off
Now that I have the Hyperdragon IV ROM I notice slightly different behaviour:
1) Turn on the SP700
2) Wait for it to make one low tone
3) Turn bluetooth onto discoverable on the phone
4) The device then automatically connects over hands free protocol
5) Go into bluetooth settings on the phone then the devices tab and manually connect by selecting "Set as Wireless Stereo" from the pop up context menu- this connects over the wireless stereo protocol
6) Turn discoverable off
One thing I do find very annoying about the SP700 is that it disconnects from the Wireless Stereo protocol after a phone call is ended. When this happens I have to manually re-connect it by pushing the button on the SP700 until it peeps.
I too would value a software upgrade for the SP700. I just get the feeling that it has somehow shipped with a beta or incomplete firmware. If anybody knows how to do the firmware upgrade please share this.
Thanks

Found a solution that works for me!
First of all thanks guys for the suggestions !
I think SP700 works fine ( GREAT! ) but the issue is with the A2DP. I found out that A2DP turns on the first time after pairing the devices but it does not turn off. So the next time you pair the devices it is turned on and won't accept the new connection. So what I tried to do was after connecting I turned off A2DP and turned it back on and it works fine.
Suggestion
Search for A2DP Toggle, install it and after pairing the devices if it doesn't work just turn A2DP off and back on.
I assigned the 6th hardware button on my Kaiser (PTT Button) to A2DP Toggle that way I can have access to it all the time.
Works great.

Thanks! Nice App! Tried it with my Tritton BT stereo headset and it works! Had to install to my device instead of Storage card, then had to delete and re-pair, but it so far I can toggle between on and off Stereo Headphones without any problem. Will try on my SP700 shortly.
I attached the Cab if anyone else wants it.
Thank you!

When the software loads, follow the instructions, do not install with any of the microsoft wizards that pop up, it will install itself. I couldn't find anything that lists what changes that were made.
SP700 Firmware
FYI,
I too had the same issues and downloaded the sp700 firmware update. I thought the same thing about the drivers, but called Jabra and they told me the firmware update has the drivers embedded in it. When you start the install you cannot plug it in till it tells you to. After you plug it in it installs the drivers. But BEWARE I have not been able to complete the upgrade, it stopped halfway and bricked. I called support and they said there is nothing to do, but luckily I bought it from Costco and they returned it. So being not so bright I tried it again but on a different computer (thinking that there might be a conflict) and it didn't even load and bricked it again. So I returned it yet again. So then I gave up on Jabra support and found A2DP toggle. It works good enough, so I am leaving it at that....

Thanks

I have the exact problem that you are having with the new, Hyperdragon IV, ROM.
Is this A2DP Toggle really the only way - I mean what's the difference between pressing a button on my Kaiser to reconnect and pressing the button on the SP700 ??
I have tried using Mortscript as shown http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=382172&highlight=a2dp&page=2 Although I edited the end out because it kills the player after ending a call. This hasn't helped either
I am off to see if the same problems occur with my lady's N96. If not and no good solution can be found for this I may have got her a new present.
Aren't I nice ?!
Found another possible solution, it,s called zoA2DP. So far it works flawlessly between my SP700 & stereo headset without having to toggle anything or change any settings. When you install it, delete your original pairings and add them again, make sure that hands free & wireless stereo are checked in advanced options on you BT settings. I believe this is a registry mod, there are no icons or any noticeable applications running in the backround.

Play Music via Bluetooth "fixed"

This is my first, and only a minor, contribution to the forum; I've been a feeder up till now.
I bought a cheap bluetooth headset for my HD2 for use with my motorcycle satnav and also my HD2 - not that I want to take calls whilst I'm riding, but playing music would be a possibility. It was similar to this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bluetooth-V2-...e_Phones_Bluetooth_Acc_ET?hash=item3efab16de4
I paired it with my satnav and could hear voice commands and music as expected. I then paired it with my HD2 and could only get calls, no music playing!!!
I tried looking for settings on the HD2 but nothing made any difference so I decided to look in the registry. After a while exploring I eventually found:
HKLM/software/widcomm/BTconfig/devices/
There were three devices paired (HD2, satnav and my car) so next I had to work out which one. I found that if you look at the nickname for each one, it's decoded into english by the Reg Editor (I use CERegistryEditor). Using trial and error I found that changing the setting "Hideconnections" from "0" to "1" did the trick. I can now hear music through the headset!!!
Well chuffed with myself!!!
PS Perform a soft reset after changing it to lock it in otherwise it resets to "0" after a disconnect.
OOPS! because I was looking for Bluetooth stuff I posted this in the wrong area, sorry!!! Maybe a moderator can correct please?
How bizarre it works by default for me......well done on the find though
Thanks...
It doesnt work for me, im using samsung mono bluetooth. I've tried many methods like btaudio bttoggle.... any help, thanks
All I can suggest is that - like I did - compare settings with something that does work. Maybe because you have a mono headset (mine is stereo) it's not capable of receiving music?
Hi
I could play music and receive system sound in my Jabra mono bluetooth earpiece if, in HD2, I go bluetooth->advance->Audio and check "play system sounds on remote hands-free device". However, after a phone call, the music and sound will be routed back to the phone speaker, though the earpiece is still connected (you can still make/receive phone calls through the earpiece).
The music and sound can only be routed to the earpiece again after a soft reset.
The other observation is that, if there is pause in between music or sound for a period of about 12 to 15 seconds, the HD2 will "suspend" the bluetooth transmission (beep in the earpiece) and resuming the music will cause the bluetooth transmission to be re-established (beep sound in earpiece). This is causing skipping of the first 1 to 2 second of the music / sound.
Have installed BTaudio V1.0. It is working on my HD2 and will keep the transmission constant and no skipping problem.
However, also needing soft reset after phone call.
Does any one has similar experience ? Is this earpiece/ head set related of is this HD2 related issue ?
No one has simialr experience ? Is there a thread on bluetooth related registry tweaks, I have been searching for it but don't seems to be able to find one. Any help will be appreciated.

I don't have that reg key at all! I have a dutch hd2 running stock 1.66. When I try to connect to a parrot party bluetooth stereo box this (most of the time) doesn't work. Once or twice I established a working connection but after trying multiple times with no luck I decided to find a fix for my problem. Now I try to edit my reg with this and it's not there!?
i paired the hd2 with the car kit parrot ck3100... leaving apart that it doesn't connect always... although i have checked in settings to play all phone sounds through BT it doesn't...
i think it's a BT problem of the hd2, or maybe all WM phones... 'cause ițve had issues like this before...
P.S. once it played the music thorugh the car kit... just like this...
