hava player - G1 Apps and Games

they made one for the n8XX and it rocks
id love to see it on my g1 why java only all apps have to be rewritten instead of just cross complied... not a great move, unless you want to make $ selling apps...
hmm linux w/o its stand by programming languages
it will just take a bit longer
bhang

bump
If I had this for my g1 and my xbox media centers, id be set...

Awesome G-Sensor iphone App! Port?

A co-worker bought a iPod Touch and downloaded some freebie games at work. One of which is a sweet game called "Topple" and is pretty simple.
Here is the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr7DlMhmLrc
Basically you have your classic tetris pieces but they don't fall down until you grab them. The object of the game is to keep stacking. You move the pieces around with your fingers. They each have their own physics so they "topple" and knock each other down. As the stack gets higher so does the skill level, as the entire stack is motion sensitive using the built in G-Sensor. You have to keep the phone up-right at first but as the tower of blocks gets higher the sway gets worse requiring you to place your pieces and offset the lean.
The goal of the levels is to simply reach a certain height, gaining points for placing blocks. Free Play allows you to build your tower as high as you can. In both game types, you can only allow 4 blocks to fall off to its doom.
The game is addicting and funny. Each block has faces which change depending on their action. As the game progresses and your tower starts to lean, their faces do :O
I searched for a while but don't think this is out on any WM device. I know some of you have lots of G-Sensor tetris clones out there and this might be a neat idea to try out.
Very fun and addicting game.
Geebus, I don't have an iPhone, but looking at all the apps--okay, fine--the games it has, it's like going back to 1987 and comparing the 8 bit NES and its beautiful colors (while I'm kicking butt playing Kung Fu and Duck huntin' all the while pretending R.O.B is Johnny 5) to Atari's pong.
There doesn't seem to be many devs coming over to show off their skills--and if they do--well....pong works great on my Fuze...
I'd be more than happy to pay .99 for a nice and fluid "beer" app...with waves and actual liquid motion...
Sad when you have more games developed for an OS that is a couple years old vs a system that has been out for almost a decade.
I'm still saddened that we don't have better emulator support.
What would be nifty is if they had an iPhone emulator much like the Palm emulators out there. The iPhone doesn't have any graphic acceleration (i don't believe). Aside from the variable screen sizes, one would think it would be do-able.
What would be cool is if there was a conversion kit made for the Fuze/TP/Diamond which made the screen a capacitive screen. (Dreaming )

Indeed and I'm still trying to figure that one out. What makes it so hard to develop for WM?

WM has had plenty of app stores. Handago, etc. Heck Sprint even has a link for an app store which makes it plenty easy. The only problem is, Apple released an SDK that allowed people to make just about anything they wanted and the prices in comparison to the WM apps are waaayy different.
The Apple app store is mostly fun stuff like games and other stuff that's just neat. While, most of the thousands of apps for WM are more business based.
But, IMO it's much easier to download a cab and install it, than the iPhones way of getting apps. Apple, just does such a good job at hyping everything up, that the demand is insane.
I know they have programs to disperse Windows Mobile apps... but it isn't widely known because Microsoft doesn't require EVERYONE to have it like Apple does iTunes (AppStore).
I know they also make a program to install cabs directly to your device when connected through USB (skipping activesync).
Most of the iPhone games look like Flash games that are made into apps. Even the game I posted looks like a flash game.
The AppStore isn't hard to make, but getting it out there is. The best way for a service to get out there would be for a well known Mobile downloading site created a program that used their existing database of programs which allowed installation of demos/trials and a direct method of purchasing retail versions. A site like http://freecabs.org. It has a great database with screen captures and a description, plus all cabs are free to distribute.
The game I posted looks like a simple game that makes use of the gsensor and brings a new twist to tetris-like games.
Windows Mobile will always be suited more towards business while the iPhone has a child-like attractiveness that draws the younger crowd which would gear developers into making programs and games for that class of users.
I'm just sort of "jealous" that a device so new can have so many new games and apps that Windows Mobile doesn't have. It isn't that we can't have these games and apps... just no one has made them. I guess because every iPhone owner can use these games vs only a few people with Touch Pros/Touches/Diamonds/Omnias/etc
i like this topic.. i have/had an iphone but my family now doesnt wanna switch to at&t so i am back with my touch pro typing this on it... i love the ease of the app store.. i mean hell i jailbroke and it had better app distrabution then winmo ... and winmo is a much more open platform.... i think we need an appstore like app with freeware and trial and paid apps on it... you could distrabut it in custom roms because i would put it in mine but idk we need some easier way because im tired of searching google on my phone for a stupid app when it would be so much easier just to have a finger friendly database off a lot of apps and categories and all that good stuff
There are already several "Apple Store" type of products out there. The bad thing is none of them are REQUIRED to get apps so no one really uses them.
Sure the Apple Store is a neat way to find apps... but I just bluetooth the cab file over and install from there.
If your looking for something with descriptions and pics then just about any PocketPC app website will do the job. The only thing different is that they don't install it for you.
Although this thread was on topic of the game Topple... I don't know how it got off topic going from iPhone emulator to Apple Store
[EDIT] Here's what I found doing a simple search: WM App Store = Gecko

I rather have an emmulator for iphone Games
You realize what you people ask is next to impossible?
(or are we just daydreaming here and I missed the point?)
Well, again, the thread started around 1 iphone app... but I agree that a "emulator" or a "convertor" would be awesome.
I see lots of PocketPC apps and games get converted to iPhone apps... so why can't it go the other way around.
lots of their games and apps look like Adobe Flash based with G-Sensor support.
NLS-why do you say it is next to impossible. I don't disagree but looking for input.
OK I can tell you a few quick facts.
1) We are NOT sure that iPhone is not accelerated - we just assume because Apple says nothing. All 3D stuff I've seen in iPhone kicks the b*tt of any 3D stuff in WM.
2) The underlying OS in iPhone is (if we believe Apple) a subset of OS X, which as simple as you can make it, it is still a very very complex OS.
3) Multitouch is supported by both OS AND hardware, not a fact in WM... and no you cannot get by without it as many if not all apps do make use of it.
4) WM is not able to emulate really complex devices (and trust me I KNOW about emulation), for example Amiga (PocketUAE attempt SUCKS) or MAME (the last version released was based an a veeeeery old MAME). You have to fight against a non-real-time friendly OS (WM) and a single CPU without real co-processing abilities (and don't tell me about Qualcomm being a quad-core chip because I am laughing).
5) System locks for about EVERYTHING are in place in iPhone (yes even cracked ones) so even a succesful emulator would have VERY hard time tricking the OS that this is a real iPhone platform. Trying to bypass this would be an even greater strain to the already strained system.
...I can go on if needed.

I agree.. I mean I know enough to know that WM CANNOT handle an iPhone emulator..
I mean If you have ever used an iphone for even 30 minutes your going to realize that it is a lot more complex then windows mobile even if it doesnt look like it.. I mean its hard enough to make good scrolling on apps like iContact, so try and emulate the whole OS..
I just think WinMo needs to be more FUN rather then work
I mean I am 16 years old and I am trying to make WinMo better with my Touch ROM's even though I have a Touch Pro now to work with too.. But I want to make WinMo more for fun as well as work

You are probably right, but I like discussions. My Axim can emulate a PS1. One would think mobile a phone can emulate another phone... at least SOME of its apps. I've read the specs of the phone and while good for a phone... not every app/game is going to require all the resources.
The Multitouch is a bit of a problem though. Even in the game I posted in the first thread, you need multitouch to "spin" your pieces. This would be might cause problems with the touchscreen (the touchpad is multitouch though).
Most of those games look like flash anyway. If they were... could we port them?
Obviously I don't have an iPhone so I wouldn't know. The goal of this thread was to port a specific game... not create an emulator.

Don't get insulted but what do you mean by "work" (in the sense that a Touch Pro is needed to do it) when you are 16?

Port yes. By all means.
First find a way to get in touch with the infamous acceleration that is in Qualcomm chipset.
BTW, iPhone is more complex than PS1.
G-Sensor
I don't think that this app has anything to do with the G sensor, its only using the multitouch function but in WM you can not do this.

if by app you mean the topple game then yes it uses the g-sensor, you can lean the phone left or right to lean the "tower" of blocks to that side to help it from falling. A little level also appears at the bottom of the screen when you do this.
I also agreeing to an extent about the wm not able to fully emulate iphone. I have an iphone and just about every htc device that has a touch screen but the iphone apps rarely use the multi touch and when they do it can easily be replaced with the buttons we have in a way. For example, the multi touch needed to spin the blocks in topple can easily be replaced with the spinning scroll touch on the touch pro which in actuality be a lot easier than the multi touch cause i can never get the damn block the way i want it when i cover most of the screen/block with my hand trying to spin it with 2 fingers and hold the phone at the same time lol
Also, as far as the security on the iphone apps, its not that complex as made. The apps are in *.ipa format which is just a renamed zip file. Rename it to zip and you can extract the pics used (*.png) and the *nib files (interface builder) with that as a stepping stone, the apps can begin to be ported which is stillnot an easy task, thats why its called a stepping stone

Nesroid

Just thought I'd point out a full NES emulator on the market which works perfectly at full speed with sound and saving state. It's called Nesroid. I've tried it with a few games and it seems to work perfectly, although the sound is a little static-y.
Yeah I saw that this morning. I was waiting on a little more feedback before I bought it. Im looking forward to some Captain Skyhawk...
Yeah, I tried to buy it with my dad's credit card, but i stucked at "validating credit card" or something like that (i'm german) so i mailed the developer asking him for e.g. paypal .. still waiting for answer <.< GNAH GIMME ZELDA

**Nesoid
Saw this posted on here and HAD to test it out...!! But when searching for Nesroid, I received no results. It's actually under Nesoid (no R) But regardless, I am very impressed. There are comments on the market page for it stating there is NO sound..well that's not true. I tested FF1, FF2, Kirby's Adventure, Zelda, and Megaman, all work flawlessly!! Full speed, sound, everything. ^-^ Keeping it, worth the $1.99..this is what I've been waiting for.. now hopefully, there will be more on a Genesis or SNES emulator..though I know an SNES one is in the works and should be out by end of June... crap..I don't have the link, but the developers are very focused on speed, sound, and save states..! I will find that link...eek.
you mean, this one:
http://www.supergnes.com/
Yeah it works well. I guess why some don't have sound is because of the lack of Open GL drivers in their firmware (HAHAHAHHAHAHA! screw them ). There is lite (free) version that seems to be the same thing... I'm kinda pissed because there seems to be no difference between the two! At this point... I normally would refund and get the free (exact duplicate!!) one but I feel bad because I have waited for this since I got my G1. Hummm.... the Touch Pro 2 is coming to T-MO USA in July and I was gonna go back to WM (keep my Dream as a back up) but it gets easier to decide not to with each day of fantastic Android innovation, port, or emulator. Hell, it's good to have choices! Now T-Mobile is finally giving us MANY more (cough, cough, Samsung Android w/ 8GB internal memory coming in fall)
Looks like my battery life will suffer severely thanks to this app. Sound gets choppy when the phone starts accessing data, which sucks, but it is still awesome
works on jf 1.5.... The sound for me doesn't work but every game I have played on it works 100% This is a dev who knows what a good product is!
its about time a decent emulator came out, if ScummVM works fine i dont see why all the other emulators till now had to suck...

Maybe you should try to write a high performance emulator in Java. Then you'd find out.
Freedomcaller:
You have no clue what an emulator, OR scummvm is, do you?
An emulator simulates all low-level calls, and basicly pretends it's a whole other computer... and that's while running all the other services and apps in the background.
That is not an easy thing to do, and especially not in pure interpreted java. That's why native/compiled code is probably used in that emulator.
ScummVM is *NOT* an emulator. SCUMM is an interpreted language, by lucas-art.
What ScummVM does is basicly just read some sort of script, and match the commands in the script, to local calls.
ScummVM is (relatively) easy to implement, and doesn't need a whole lot of horse-power (The NintendoDS runs it, and i think the GBA does too... and the GBA runs at 16MHz, with 384kB of RAM)
this emulator works great, i tested 5 nes rom and they all runs and sounds perfectly.
this is from 1.5 H build.
the graphic looks cool when g1 screen is so small.
now lets give us SNES emulator please

This emulator is so fast in fact, I suspect this app has a component of native code in it that is not Java at all. Doom had a piece of native code in it.

This is great!
Any chance buying the emulator for the ones outside T-Mobile networks?
u don't need tmobile?!
The lite version only plays one preloaded rom - Chip N Dale. I'm sure you could mess with the .apk to play other roms, but the work involved to make a good NES emulator is worth 2 bucks to me.
Well, let me try again then.. Is there any way to get this outside the market, as I live in a country that cannot browse any priced applications on the market.
Edit: I have no problem paying for it via paypal or something, it's just unavailable for me over the market and I really want this !

This will allow you to browse priced apps on the market:
http://strazzere.com/blog/?tag=market-enabler
However you'll still need to attach a credit card to your Google Checkout to use it.
Lite version works with thedude's apps2sd rom, but the paid doesn't. the app.zip file isn't showing up as being downloaded, and market says it is. Anyone having this problem with an apps to sd rom?

What's keeping you from not switching to the IPHONE 3G S?

I am looking more and more and I see that the Iphone is pretty fast and rounds well in terms of multimedia features.
They also claim it's great for work.
Now what is making you not switch to this device?
I'm curious to see your opinions!
All in itself!!!!!
I´m so happy with WM with all its defects and unlimited personalization and now with Rhodium you cant compare it to iphoney
It´s the 52nd thread about something related to iphoney
Im with you paisa!
All the winmo customization makes this devicesmore interesting... we had many apps to switch if we have more new features even in open GNU, no unlocks for everything you want...
If you said that the iphone is a powerfull toy in multimedia features... well its truth but... the speed or animation is not the only feature you may search in a "smartphone" remote desktop... internet sharing... obviously 3G multimedia player for almost all the codecs! well not so... this devices cant play .VOB
and the preferable Windows office doc xls and ppt or many DB apps in it editable and pdf by adobe direct app. encoding the avi is the nicer thing to rip your dvd's or Blue ray or... Matroska MKV nice def and low size!!! amazing isnt it?
Mp3 at loud! MKA... wma or whatever you want, GPS!!!
SO....so much why I am happy with Windows mobile devices, Iphone is just... that... a pretty phone... well manufactured by the famous Apple... thats all.
oups did I say gb, gba, nes, snes, sega emulator... Oh! **** even Playstation emulator! hahaha, Java is just the beginig of your boring days.
WM and XDA All the Way!
Here's a already started thread for info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3928679#post3928679
switching to the IPHONE is as same as quitting from XDA
our WM device is absolutely irreplaceable (too many historical value inside 1 or 8 GB in our Storage Card)
well..WM is kind of a nation and identity, no matter how good and bad it is, but that is my soul (i'm proud to have it)
I probably shouldn't answer this thread but I will!!!
I have an ipod touch and have had WM phones since the magician, I also borrowed my mates iphone 3g while he was abroad for a fortnight to see what I thought of it. Iphones are well executed devices, the appstore is neat as is the ability to easily download music over the air, but you know what, after a week I was bored with it!!
The TD2 I have now just works and I can change the way it looks without "jailbreaking" etc.
My plan costs less than half the cost of the iPhone plan, and includes unlimited texts.
That's pretty much the only thing keeping me on WM. Of course, if an Android phone comes out that works on SERO, I'll jump.
Well the big reason im not getting it is the fact that my business discount doesn't apply towards the iphone plans.. bleh... but I'm happy with the WM progress with 6.5 and TF3D.. give it couple years MS will catch up to iphone..

A couple years.... is goodbut hopefully sooner. WM6.5 isn't as pretty but it works and will hold us over till WM7....
then again the Iphone is still playing catchup as well..... MMS, Tethering... Finally but not for AT&T.....
video(about time), 3MP camera(Meh... 5MP minimum nowadays), uh, I'm missing a lot here..... But they finally caught up.... look apple finally put SD card slots on their laptos too.
or maybe MS will enter to iphone!
like Mac OS few years ago, with "Office for MAC"
Mac OS just has a WORKS app that emulates the spreadsheet the text documents and the Presentations like PPT then MS makes Office for MAC! jajaja imagine how much does MS can do with money and popularity!
My wife has an iphone 3g (non "S" lol), and I have my old faithful Hermes100.
To eliminate any perception of bias, here's my home. My server, 2 personal comps, and my two work comps all run linux, I have an old imac that serves as a bedside entertainment center (50 pound fancypants dvd player) and iphone sync'r, and my firewall runs FreeBSD. The only Windows I run is either paravirtualized or on my phone. I can't wait to make my linux HTPC and linux car-puter.
I think I would rather have HTC's latest slicker-than-snake-s**t WinMo phone over apple's latest anything anyday. Unless cost was no option, in which case I'd have both. Obviously a phone that could run *nix, or windows mobile, or (heh) iphone's OS would be the most attractive to me. I don't think I'll see that happen anytime soon.
When she first got her iphone, I told her I was going to need to jailbreak it to be able to install an openvpn client so she could access stuff at home remotely. At least with Windows Mobile I could write a hello world, compile it, and run it on my phone right out of the box. Oh, and I can cancel my data plan if I want to.
Freedom - gotta love it
Easy answr!
No customization, not for real geeks, its just a pretty looking mp3 player and phone.
not for biz users, plus who the heck PAYS for these apps? I mean who would buy a twitter app for iphone that is free for every other phone? that there is reason enough not to change for me.
If i were changing it would be android, but i would still be on htc devices and have WinMo as y 'other' or vice versa.
iPhone is a yuppie phone for multimedia lovers, thats it!
HTC will keep me from switching to apple (eww). I've never really liked Apple in the first place.
WM, HTC, & XDA will keep me happy!
Iphone not my cup of tea.
I've just converted to android this morning - dumping my WinMo crap now because I *love* my new G1.
There's some nice touches borrowed from the iphone but it feels a little less wrapped in cotton wool than an iphone...but not quite as edgy and unstable as a WinMo device
Smiffy.
I do not enjoy having EVERYTHING ruled by Apple. You have to pay for ringtones (Android allows you to make them on the phone). Most of the apps are paid apps on the Iphone. The G1 may not do everything that the iphone does, but the things it does do, it does better than the iphone. I will admit, I sometimes have apple envy when Im messing with my friends iphone, but it fades quickly when I hear him ***** about not being able to tether (without a $60 plan), or about having to use crappy ringtones, or not having a landscape keyboard, or countless other things.
I do think that the iphone is sexier, and I know that it has alot of cool accessories (I love the ifrogz).
However until Apple is a little less vigilant about keeping things locked up tightly. I will stick with my G1, and I will stick with my Zune.

Good post Dredge. Ii agree there are some nice things about the iPhone. The slimness compared to the Pro but the slide out keyboard makes up for that! The iPhone does rule in one thing though and that's the web browsing. It is exactly like on a computer where the Sprint phones, up UNTIL the Pre , where not easy to navigate. I went and played with the Pre and it is likke the iPhone as far as ease of use with the web. I wish the Pro would release an update to make web browsing better. We'll see. But the HTC whips the iPhone is everything else!

I completely agree with you hardware wise. Only Apple's can make the handset that run this wonderful OS. So, there is no reason for HTC, Samsung, LG, Acer and the rest to want it to succeed. In fact, it is natural for any of those hardware supporter to hate iPhone. Supporting iPhone would tentamount to closing their own smartphone business completely.
However, your perception regarding inability to change and add free ringtone is not accurate. I can get countless free ones. Also, most applications on Applestore are very very cheap or free. Of course, Cydia applications are also mostly free.
Before 3.0, landscape keyboard is not globally available and had to be achieved with third party software (e.g., in email and SMS). This of course will change with OS3.0.
Tethering is possible already with jailbroken phone. With non-jailbroken new iPhone, it is the Carrier who's disabling it, and not the limitation of iPhone itself. AT&T really need to raise its bar! I think the backlash against it would grow, and rightly should.
BTW, is AT&T not placing similar restriction for G1 customer?
erm... MONEY lol i got my XDA for free and the iphone is very expensive for what it is, lol.

Jrioni Aracde Full - MAME emulator on Android

This is the only MAME emulator I've found that supports the classic games. It emulates a GP2X game console which supports .34/.35b roms only. It doesn't seem to recognize the newer roms.
I can only find it by using the links on this page or scanning the QR Code with my phone.
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-jrioni-jarcade-qCqA.aspx
I had to use my phone and scan the QR Code with the Barcode Scanner App to open the page in the MarketPlace. If anyone could provide a link, it would be great as the GTab doesn't have the resolution to scan the QR Code as well as being a PITA with only one camera.
UPDATE: Tried to use my phone to blowup the QR Code to scan it as the link wasn't working for the GTab for some reason. Got it to scan with Barcode Scanner, but it linked to the same page in the Marketplace. It didn't make a difference though. It seems there is still something missing from the Marketplace implementation on the GTab and this is after the last Marketplace hack involving changing the build.prop. Sideloading after downloading from a device that can use this like appears to be the only way to go to load this for now.
TigerMAME, which is found easily on Android Marketplace only supports Neo Geo/CPS1/CPS2 games.
Once purchased and installed, you need to wait for him to send you a code to unlock and activate the emulator. It took more than 24 hours, so be patient.
I was able to convert some roms to work with this using his instructions on his blog:
http://jrioni-arcade.blogspot.com/2009/09/howto-rom.html
Playing with WiiMote Keyboard works. You will need to UNCheck the WM Sideways option in the keyboard settings for the WiiMoteIME Settings. The emulator assumes you're turning it sideways. The Wiimote is difficult to play MAME with, looks like it's time to buy a Classic Controller Pro!
I wish it played the full set supported by GP2X, but it only works with about one third of the roms GP2X supports. I went through them all, since have full set for my Dingoo and PSP and used the app with G1, Droid and Incredible (probably one of the first people that bought his app in 2009).
Jioroni messed up, since this app and the PC Engine would have doen well, were it not for his code validation process. His efforts to prevent piracy actually has hurt him more than selling through the market straight.
Yeah I was a little put off by the piracy precautions as well. It's scary when you have only 24 hours to return it and it takes almost 2 days to get a code. I did reprocess the roms as he had outlined in his blog post and a lot of them were able to play successfully. I have some issues maybe you might know how to solve like the galaga missing ship exploding sound or sounds in donkey Kong. I know in the PC version there was a sample directory to address this is there something like this?

All common issues with MAME .34 & .35. Still young app back then.
This project appears abandoned. No activity on the blog since 2009, and though Jarcade shows up in the market, if I try to buy it, I get a server error.
Are there any emulators that play the early Mame games from the eighties?
I was actually surprised that mame doesn't exist for android. I want to play old-school 80's games and I think most would be perfect for android devices.

Perhaps it's beause while the code is available, it cannot be used commerically, so no monetay gain for the wouldbe developer. I installed the Android sdk + all the other required software, just to get a feel for what would be involved in porting mame. The NDK might provide some help using the existing C code, rather than converting everything to java, but at this point I'm still learning how to import existing java code into my test projects.
The other problem as I see it, is that Mame runs with the command line or a frontend. I may be able to get some code for a java frontend, but adding it to the project and connecting it is beyond my current limited abilities.
There's also the source code MAMEUI, which has a GUI. Written for windows tho
Yes it wouldn't have a monetary gain, but that hasn't stopped people previously from porting mame to everything under the sun. The one device I thought would have it for sure, doesn't.
And yes a front-end would be an issue and add development time, and so would an a control overlay. Someone needs to standardize some game development tools one thing being virtual controls so other game developers who need on screen controls can just place say an 8 way controller and two buttons. But that's another matter.
Well, I hope mame gets ported one day but if it hasn't already I don't think it's just around the corner.

I've been going through the Android SDK tutorials / layouts section and believe that creating a frontend may be the easiest part. Haven't yet learned how to pass values to from the Java frontend to the native C code, but I'm sure it's very possible.
The initial release of this theoretical MAME port could be without a control overlay. The user could use the navigation keys on their Android device if available, or something external like a wiimote.
Another thought is that perhaps MAME could be compiled for Android and launched via the command line in the Terminal emulator.

I've started a blog to document my efforts in bringing Mame to Android, and will be devoting most of my free time to this cause over the next few weeks. I'm sure it's just a matter of making the right connections in the dev tools.
Bro if u need a tester im here,we need a decent mame for droid,im glad sumone finally took the raines and u decide to make this happen,if u need any help with finding info pm me and ill do my best to help.....mame.......ftw!!!!!

Share Your Apps here

I am not sure if there is an existing thread similar to this. If there is, please feel free to remove this one.

how are you liking fruit ninja? i hate it on my HD7. it's just not as smooth as on my ipod touch/iphones!!
When i click HTC HUB there is 3 apps below it under the big clock.

So does WP7 offer all of these apps too? or could it be under a similar name perhaps ? help me find out and let us know exactly the name so i can type it in the app store. All of these apps are what i enjoy in the apple store apps.
I would be so disapointed if wp7 doesnt even offer any of that. I wonder why.
By the way as i add more and more apps on my phone just where all the apps are.... it builds up alot and i have to scroll all the way down and down to find the app i want to use.... i wish this phone HTC HD7 would have them sorted in small icons just like iphone so i dont have to scroll one line all the way down to find it.
thanks love
best regards
@ SandraX2020
Looks like you already own a HD7 from two posts above. So why don't you check yourself if the listed Apps are available in the Market place.
I did not hear/see most of the apps you listed. But I'm sure MS will catch up soon enough. iPhone and Apple and the developers had 4 years to have the number of apps they have now in the market place.
Where as in less than 7 months, WP7 has over 17,000 apps. I'm sure in no time we would have all of them if not more. So, tight until then.

I can not simply believe enough how all of the apps names ive meantion obove this in this colon list and yet you say there is 15,000 apps on the qp7 and non of the apps ive meantion are not available or doesnt exsist on wp7 between the 15,000 apps thats available there.
These apps are on itunes and on android. I can not imagine more how wp7 doesnt have these apps at all. Sounds like wp7 15,000 apps are more useless apps and basic apps and nothing more then lots of apps design for other countrys. Most of the apps you find will be useless to use it in other countries....
I give you an example. you find lots of apps in relation to the the train metros... your not seriously going to download on of these if your living in a country nwith no train stations around your state. Then again all the 15,000 apps may as well be just useless apps. 80% from all i can see.
I just cant believe all the name apps ive meantion are not available. Considering there is 15,000 apps.
Then whats all this 15,000 apps? doesnt look like there is really 15,000 apps.
When i click SOCIAL i keep on scrolling it down and down and down i go.... and the further you go down and down as you scroll the page there is just 80% useless apps and not very interesting or no one using it to beging with.
But if you keep scrolling and look at all the scroll you did on the SOCIAL apps areas it sure doesnt look there isnt enough.. looks like there was only just 200 apps in there.. Yet interesting 15,000 apps on wp7 all of its content ? interesting.
Anyways WP7 marketplace should wake up and do something decent. It is lacking. I heard friends where i do go to california that wp7 is slowly dyeing from all they are concern about. And wont be popular until 3 years time.

You say there is 15,000 apps on wp7 ? And yet all of the 8 or 10 apps ive meantions are not available on wp7 ? well that is odd because you would think 15,000 apps would be value apps to beging with. And after all of the 10 apps ive meantion obove are available on itunes and android.
Then again im starting to notice and realise all of the most 15,000 apps available on wp7 marketplace is useless. Well not useless but what i meant was that most of them are not really design to help you with things because most of these apps are like for other countries or local other countries needs.. like for example india radio... or canadian radio or stuff for thier locals.
Surely in my state we dont really listern to indian channels or canadian channels or thier local tram timetable apps... well wp7 is like that really.
It is a shame because 15,000 and counting is just crab apps most of it.
I also notice as i browse quite alot.. that there isn';t much ratings on apps and most ratings are on the top list apps... but if you keep on browing down and down the apps page... no one really have rated anything on all apps. only just the most important stuff that are more value that is rated.
Again there is 1.6 million users around the world who just brought an HTC HD7 cellphone. And yet you would have thought 1.6 million users would half of them all would of rate lots of apps to beging with ?
Then i did some analys and notice that 80% of all these people in the 1.6 million users who now own a htc hd7 was that everyone was mainly downloading the GAME store and that everyone was more focus on the GAME section game then anything other then just games on the Xbox game area.
I am not a game person but i used to when i was in my 20s. Know days what i like it good intertainment and intersting apps.
Believe it or not i downloaded 3 apps and in just 3 days later ive deleted it because one of them was a social chat and no one is in it... the second app was find me on wp7 around the globe and notice in my state no one is using this app... So it is a pain killer till its dorm.
So WP7 been out aproximate 7 or so months now. And allready owns 15,000 apps and continuing.
Yet like i said in my experience of using the marketplace is that 80% of it all is crab apps because most of the apps are only more related to a specified country like singapore tram app... or the local tv guide in china.. But these things are useless in other countries. And most apps are like that.
I also notice 60% of the most apps ive encounterd and looked t are quite boring and theres nothing interesting or nice with its graphics... because most of it is just basic writen words and nothing. Its like reading a book with nothing to make it stand out.
So why is wp7 marketplace so bad ? I spoken to my old fellow friends in New orleans and they told me you shoudn't have gone with wp7 because wp7 is dying down.
Mainly wp7 phones are mainly design if you only care about just games
And that its not like what you think as in android or itunes
So to finish it up i say wp7 is crab and bad and nothing excitement out of it.
Know i am thinking of soon to buy a tablet 10.1 screen with built in android. However installing android on the htc hd7 will be not so good if you ever try to uninstall something importnantly.
Itys interesting how itunes and android has all the apps im more interesting. Yet wp7 there is upsolutely no apps that i like which seems strange. Only the app i own is the world radio live. But the rest is again useless. So why with 15,000 and counting apps on wp7 marketplace doesnt have the apps ive named as meantion obove ? which is odd.
I bet all the apps in there wp7 is crab. or at least 80% of it is useless and again apps cost alot on there too
What it is more interesting is the games that wp7 offers... just the games... nothing els.
Not everyone is into games. Think about it.

Sounds like a flaming fanboy to me... If you dont like WP7 the DONT BUY WP7... It is as simple as that...
Well, I have to agree... At the moment WP7 is simply not the best choice unless you are a gamer. Games are awesome under WP7 thanks to XBOX Live. With android you have a bunch of free useful apps as well as great paid apps and is a growing platform with a huge future in the smartphone & tablet market with Android 3. Now with iOS, you have a bunch of slave apps hanging around iTunes and a phone with no battery to swap and no SD slot. Just telling the truth, don't get me wrong. I have a Jailbroken iPhone 3GS, an HTC HD7 chevron unlocked and a rooted HTC Inspire 4G with mike's 1986 Revolution ROM. So I have all 3 OS and in my opinion, Android is by far the best, Apple in 2nd place, and in a distant, very distant 3rd place is WP7. And again I have not one but 2 HD2 (both with custom roms) and was the owner of the HTC Tilt 1 & 2. So I am also a huge fan of windows mobile 6.x. etc... but reality is reality. And WP7 is at this precise moment still in pampers. Hope the mango update really delivers not some but many new features like multitasking as well as many others. (Hotspot, usb tethering) Flash should be priority one too, so at least they have something that iOS still don't have. Anyway, isn't this a post about new homebrew apps for WP7? LOL... take care everyone!
