Bluetooth car kit is disconnecting while using internal GPS - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hello all,
Have searched forum but not found exactly my problem.
I'm running ASerg Rus v.24 ROM on my O2 XDA Diamond and I have Parrot CK3000 bluetooth car kit. Gadgets work together flawless as they should unless I use any GPS software. When I'm running any software using GPS (e.g. Navitel Navigator or PocketGForce), on incoming call the carkit rings, but when I push button on carkit to answer, it makes "bleep" sound indicating that it lost connection to Diamond, and the sound goes to handset, not thru carkit. It is obviuos that I can't hear anything and speak to handset pinned to car dashboard. I just have to say aloud to the caller that I have some problems and I will call back in few minutes... It is very annoying that I can't talk while GPS'ing.
Anybody else experienced problems like this? Any solution?

Do you get your sat nav directions through the handsfree when in use? If so how? Usually that means that the Parrot is using A2DP BT profile and not the handsfree profile, but I do not think the CK3000 supports A2DP. Have you tweaked in some way the phone or added an app so that the sat nav uses the handsfree profile? I did using BTMusic app. If you have it may have something to do with the settings on that.

No, navigation software speaks thru phone's loudspeaker, not thru car kit over BT. And PocketGForce I've mentioned above does not speak at all since it is a measurement application using GPS only for getting current speed.
I don't know, maybe I have to play with different radio versions?

Carkit / Navigation / Radio Mute

Hello friends.
Long time after planning to build my own Car Kit, at least i orderd yesterday an original Car Kit from O2....
Not having received it, i´ve got some questions about it. ....
I´d like to connect a GPS mouse to it and will use my TomTom-Software with it.
Wiring the GPS should not be a problem since FVH did such great reverse Engineering... (Thanks a lot for it)
My Question is now about Radio Mute / Speaker output....
I´ve got 2 input Systems at my Radio. one for Telephone and one for NavigationSystem....
Where do i connect the car kit now? I think, i can do only once of it, or?
What will happen, when i use the mute-connector for phone on radio-side? Will it stop the Radio on every output of the Tomtom? Will it only mute the radio when a call comes in?
What are you´re experiences?
Glad about every answer....
Regards
Stefan
Come on guys....
Where are your answers?
I know there are some people using the Car KIt, and i think they use the Navigation function too....
So plz geave me some tips....
Regards
Stefan
Yes,
Also using the XDA carkit. I found the radio mute function very disappointing: it is triggered by a variety of events (screen tapping, navigation output, GSM basestation handover etc). Finally decided not to connect the radio mute to the car stereo.
If you have a line in port on your radio/cd, you can profit from good quality mp3 from the xda without using the mute cable. Also connect the carkit speaker, parallel to the line-in.
Radio mute
I have taken a closer look at how the radio mute works. It quiet easy, if what ever signal (beep, voice, music or what ever) is sent to the XDA speaker, it will trigger the mute signal.
The mute wire is pulled to either ground or VCC (i can´t remember which one, it´s been to long...) as long as there is audio output. When connecting it to my radio (Renault Laguna) I found it works the opposit to what you would expect: no signal--> no radio ; voice or telephone --> radio on.
SOlving this is easy, just get a small relay (make sure it power usage is low, specs can be found in the Carkit manual) and connect it to the mute signal. Use the switched contact to create an inverted signal.
Good luck,
Francois

The mute wire is also pulled as long the GPS Software of TOMTOM is active.
Any idea how to fix it?

In my case this isn´t so.
Mute turns on, when audio ouptut is from Tomtom or anything else. After this, it turns on Radio again.

GPS Software of TomTom switches Mute
I also have the same problem:
As soon as the GPS Add-On of TomTom starts, Mute of the O2 Car Kit is switched and the radio keeps silent until the GPS Add-On is terminated.
Any idea how to solve this???
Thanx,
Charlie
Looks like a faulty carkit.
I do see the problems as described, mute works correctly, even when navigating.
MAYBE this is your problem:
----------------------------------
When I put the XDA in the cradle and the GPS is switched on it looks like that the amplifier is switched on. You can hear this by listening to the noise that produced. It sounds a lot like RS-232 interferance.
I solved this by pressing the RED phone switch once or twice until you hear a beep comming from the XDA. This first legitemate sound correctly mutes the amplifier and from that moment on the carkit works like it should.
Try it and let me know,

BT connect to headset with GPS

Just wonder if Niki can support to have BT connection to A2DP BT Headset while using BT GPS receiver for GPS....
yes it works, although not stable when calling.
you may have to restart the bt headset a2dp. after conecting the bt gps antenna.

Do you mean that while i'm using the BT connected to GPS receiver and navigating... all the sudden a call came in... i can use the BT headset to answer the call... and the GPS will still able to track and navigating?

Thats right - at least with the sony headset and tomtom set I use. Both work well all the time
Here it works fine a Logitech bluetooth stereo headset with mic and TomTom with a keomo 16 ch gps receiver, when your call is ended it activates the mediaplayer by itself, only sh*ty thing is that the logitech headset so now and then isnt receiving 100% , but its a almost perfect combination.....
Mine works fine, either with the Moto HS820 or the A2DP Jabras. However I wouldn't ever recommend using A2DP phones whilst driving - it cab be dangerous.
Your normal one-ear devices don't tend to stop you from hearing external noises, which can be essential for safety whilst driving.
that's true... having a2dp headphone in the car is dangerous... but if it's using the normal headset with the GPS that will be great!!!!
since in spain it is forbidden to use headsets while driving, either a2dp or calls, i use a parrot mk6100 w a2dp.
when using the a2dp thru my car stereo i can connect my gps bt antenna.
when the call comes everything works fine.
but, it gets some time to go back after the call (navigator + a2dp). and it is not that smooth. it seems like that is pushing too hard to the limits of the niki.
i read the answer is to restart the conection w the a2dp.
btw, i dont have installed the voices in the navigator so the navigator doesnt interfere w the a2dp.
i can keep trying if you have some other issues.

bluetoouth GPs antenna issue
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I tried the antenna with another pda, it is working well. all tests were done with success. I don't understand whynot with the niki.
I did a complementary test, I tried the niki with another gps antenna and it is working well too.
I conclud about a compability issue between my antenna and the niki. maybe due to the bluetooth version.
is it existing a .cab to update the bluetooth driver?
thank you.
not found yet
but keep posting, i am interested too.
any news?
after to have tried many rom and radio version, i finished to buy a new antenna bluetouth v2.
the newone is working. i will sale the oldone to someboday having older phone.
I use a gear4 blueye (can get one for about £20ish on ebay including postage) at the same time as using gps (a holux gpslim 240 with tomtom) in the car.
Plug it into the car stereo and can now listen to ipod music, change tracks, volume & pause+play the ipod safely.
And also make calls by tapping the button and using phone's voice dial, this further pauses any music I'm listening to whilst in call and resumes at the end of the call. It really is a super little device!
ps. if people are having any interface issues: slow hanging up etc.. after calls, then it's worth disabling whatever phone skin you have using 'Advanced Configuration'. The default skin plays much nicer with bluetooth.

WM6 Bluetooth Trouble

Since I upgraded my breeze to WM6 my handsfree bluetooth has not been working right. I have a JVC KD-BT1 bluetooth carradio/headset
I can pair with it and I see battery status, antenna signal and even the phonebook. When a call comes in, the radio sees it and then it mutes.
But there is no sound (microphone and speaker) on the radio. The microphone and speaker on phone keep working like there is no headset
I looked around and found out that microsoft uses a new bluetoothstack in WM6.
This is not compatible anymore with some headsets.
So there are sometimes these kinds of issues.
The best way to solve this is to get an firmware update of your BT headset.
I also found this alternative:
Change the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Sys\COD
from:
5898764(Decimal) "Telephone (Smartphone)" (default)
to
5374476(Decimal) "Normal phone"
For me, this didn't work, because I couldn't get it to pair with the 5374476 value.
I changed it back and the I could pair fine, sadly with the same result.
Bluetooth problems
I also have some troubles concerning bluetooth and my handsfree kit. I also tried to change the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Sys\COD settings but it didn't help.
I cannot make a phonecall using my carkit (Parrot CK3100). It does mute the radio, but the phone conversation is still on the phone.
I have one workaround. .... When I use my GPS receiver and software actively, I CAN make a conversation by using the carkit....strangely.
But then the GPS stops during the conversation.
None of these problems are present when I use WM5, all WM6 and above ROMS have these problems..... Anyone?
Downgrading is not an option to me

Tomtom voice in the BT radio handfree

I've in my car a radio with BT handfree.
Diamond work perfect with him but only for calling.
The connection is forever active but if i start tomtom the voice of this is in the phone and not in the radio.
If i receive a call tomtom don't speak but i can talk using the radio handfree.
I want listen the tomtom not in the phone ! I want listen it in the radio handfree BT.
Is't possible ?
With a nokia ck-7W handsfree-kit it ist the same problem. Use google for "Bluetooth Audio Router", it is a nice small Tool to get all sounds including the tomtom-voice on a bluetooth headset oder handsfree-kit.
I buy it on pocketland.de for ca. 6€ (~9$).
Meik
Try Diamond Tweak 0.5, there is an option under Bluetooth setting to use Audio Gateway or something like that think thats pushes the sound over BT. Haven't tested myself either but worth ago instead of buying some crappy accessory
I had the same problem. The problem is that most BT handsets only use limited BT profiles. The TD uses A2DP for most sounds, which is not supported by many handsets.
The answer I found was BTmusic, a little app that works fine. I now have TT directions and warnings coming over my audio system automatically.
BT music ? Sure ?

Yep ... as I say it works for me and I can get TT's directions and warnings fine using my Parrot BT handsfree phone kit.

Blutooth and Radio. HELP!!

I am the happy owner of a HTC Topaz.
I ride a motorbike, and have recently bought a bluetooth crash helmet with built in speakers / mic which works a treat for answering and making calls and also for listening to TomTom navigation instructions from my HTC Topaz.
However, I have yet found a solution to allow me to listen to the built in radio via bluetooth. Because HTC requires the plug-in headset to act as an antena the radio doesnt work without it.
However when I plug in the headset, i get instant radio reception but then the sound is routed to the plug-in headset , rather thean the bluetooth speakers.
My logic tells me that there must be some way to use the plug in headset as ONLY an antena allowing the sound to be routed by deafault to the bluetooth headset. Surely this is software driven?
I am not a software Guru, but keen to learn and frustrated that there doesnt seem to be a yet obvious solution to this problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
