New Pandora WinMo App is out! - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

I got it by going to pandora using PIE. It's a trial for one day. I don't understand why they are charging WM users but IPhone users get this for free.

LOL they want $8.99 a month for this.

Doesn't work for me . . . but then again I wouldn't pay $9 per month either. What link are you using. Are you on AT&T or Sprint (or something completely different)?

free online
but 9 a month ona phone? stupid
but skyfire you can go to it free
makes sense?

Well, I tried the trial and I received an error.

Edit: just problem* not wallet. Common typo.

I'm on ATT and I used Pocket IE to open the pandora page. When opened it prompted me to dl the app. It's free for one day and after that it's $9.
When I use Skyfire to open the desk top version of the page I can't enter my UN and Pass. Has someone found a way to enter text using Skyfire?
On Skyfire's forum they say that the browser does not support entering text on flash based sites yet. They are still working on it. My guess is once they get it working Skyfire will be $9 a month also. JMG

I can somewhat understand that but $9 a month is way over priced IMHO.
Looks like they took down the servers. I can't connect now, been trying for over an hour and a half. I get the screen that says connecting but thats as far as I get.

How were you able to login to the Pandora site on Skyfire??? I haven't been able to because the login is flash based and skyfire says they don't support text entry into a flash field. I've been trying to find a work around but haven't had any luck.

I just started a trial with a Jetable.org temp e-mail address. Works good so far. If I want to listen again tomorrow I will just create a new jetable address. 9 bucks a month is dumb.

does it ask you to input a credit card? or does it charge your carrier?

Music ID...iphone identifies song playing through mic...is kaiser capable too?

http://www.tuaw.com/2008/01/07/make-your-iphone-listen-to-your-radio-and-tell-you-whats-pla/
came across this...it would be really nice if there is an app like this for the Kaiser, or Windows Mobile to where i can just launch the app, put it near where the music is being played, and it will identify it.
There is, A app named Music ID (Originaly from the AT&T Tilt).

In the UK you can dial 2580 from your mobile and put the phone mic to the music source. About 30 seconds later you get a text with all the song info.
http://www.shazam.com/music/portal
There must be other services like this.
I love how it was such a big deal when the iPhone became capable of this.
Even crappy motorola phones have done this for years.
would be cool for tilt
If you are an AT&T subscriber, you just dial #43 from your phone.
There is a charge for the service.

I don't personally have this service, so I can't give you any more info, but you can check out the link.

anyway to get it working with WiFi though?
If it comes standard on the Tilt maybe someone can compile a cab?
It'd be great if it could run off WiFi, Canada data is expensive!

The software is free. The service is not. For instance, if you're an AT&T customer, I believe there is a $3.99 per month fee for the service and you can look up as many songs as you want.

This software is handy piece of software...I'm amazed at how it can identify songs by listening to them!
I'm a bit confused about how this is supposed to be a service that you have to pay for. I am not an AT&T costumer and I can use this software on my TyTN II over GPRS or wifi to identify music. How is it that they charge me for this service?

Pandora does not work on the fuze. I found that odd because it worked on my Epix. You get a 2 dy trial. It was a great app just like the PC version of Pandora, album art and all. Good sound quality. The fe thing is for Pandora. They charge a yry subcription.
I'd rather pay for the XM app than Pandora though.
there was a way to get the xm app and the mobi tv app free on qvga winmo
i have to assume someone will figure out how to get pandora working for us but yes 9 bucks is crazy

I have a FUZE and went to pandora.com/att on pocket ie on my phone and it had two versions. One said trial and one said full. They both appear to be the same size cab file, but here they both are...
EDIT: Works perfectly on vga! Also, I think it is a 2.99 subscription service. This seems to be a one day trial...
dont copy pay ones when theres free ones out

Yeah sorry check that rather get it free. not using an att rom.
This program is frustrating.. Even the trial version only works in 3-4 bar environments and Wifi.. Have they not heard of buffering songs/data before playing or offering the option? Lame..
I downloaded this .cab http://mq.roeiboot.com/apps/pandora.cab from this link http://blogs.msdn.com/aniyer/archive/2008/12/16/pandora-on-windows-mobile.aspx and while the buttons are tiny and it's slightly hard to use, it works perfectly on my verizon TP over my data connection.
I already had an established pandora account and it's always been free to use, I don't know why it'd be any different for anyone else.
well, works perfectly is a hasty statement. it seems to cut off at the end of each song and take a while to load the next song.
you also can't sleep the screen and leave the music playing.
edit: also it doesn't show up in the HTC task manager.
It works on my X1, the buttons are very small, And it takes a long time to skip to the next song, if you leave it going there is no lag between songs. But i can turn of my screen and still have the music going. Love it so very much

AT&T and Pandora have a deal together that you need a subscription for it to work. Not sure why that's really fair considering its still free for the iphone. Here's part of the e-mail I got after starting my "free trial" using the cab from pandora.com/att:
Thanks for trying out Pandora on your AT&T Windows Mobile Phone. We're contacting you to let you know that your free trial will expire on Wednesday, December 17, 2008. If you'd like to continue listening to Pandora on your AT&T Windows Mobile Phone, you can subscribe to Pandora for $8.99 a month. We hope you'll stick around!

There's no way I'm going to pay $8.99 for this.
I downloaded the pandora.cab from ppc geeks and the one you referenced, and it works without a subscription on my AT&T Touch Pro but the UI is terrible for VGA. The buttons and images are all out of place, and I have to use the stylus to click and sometimes have to click somewhere other than the label. Its pretty frustrating.
the ui is annoying but you can use the buttons as well theres instructions at ppc geeks

Instant Messaging Client

To be honest, the only two IM clients for the AT&T Fuze I've experienced so far is the one included with the stock firmware, and Slick. I prefer the stock firmware more. Does anyone have this app extracted? Or is there a better one they can recommend?

If you have a data plan (which you should if you have a Fuze), two free IM clients you can use are Palringo and BeeJive (right-click & Save Target as on those hyperlinks).
If you REALLY want that "OzIM" I think it is, I might have it floating around to post for you (actually, I have an AT&T ROM floating around I can yank it from). But I'd recommend looking into other solutions, personally (because doesn't the stock solution use SMS to deliver messages?).

I knew that people could message you if you binded your AIM/MSN account to your mobile phone. That's just not good enough to me, though, because I'd have to wait for someone to contact me in order for me to get a hold of them. If there's an SMS-based solution that can fetch your buddy list and act as an IM Client, sure! I'll go for it. I didn't think there was an SMS-Based solution other than binding your account. That would be good for me since I have unlimited texting enabled.
Thank you so much for your help so far. I really appreciate it .
OZim is weak in my opinion. It uses TEXT messages instead of the network traffic.

Palringo has FacebookIM if you haven't tried it.
Also, you can probably stick your SIM in a dumphone for a couple days, and either go to a corporate store or go into the OLAM and add the unlimited media net internet (I'm not sure about the price now but I pay $15 a month). After it kicks in just stick the SIM back into the Fuze and everything will work fine.

Hey, nhvoltage, what is that picture of the HTC mini phone on your skinzone site?
Even if you do have unlimited texting I feel that OZim is more prone to problems as a result. For instance; I was having a problem with mine, uninstalled it but then began receiving tens and eventually hundreds of texts relating to OZim and logging into/out of a service. It was kind of nutty. Had to reinstall, relog in and make sure I was logged out officially before I uninstalled.
I'm not trying to bang on OZ, it actually did work pretty well when it was working.
I had problems with some services understanding who it should display as my friends. I had to put all of my IM contacts into a creatd MOBILE category in order for them to show.

you should be able too simply type in pdanet into the market search and it show up. However, using my ATT 3G Nexus One the app is missing from the market. It was there three days ago when I downloaded it.
