Rom Upgrades MDA Vario

Hi all,
I have been reading alot about the comments every one seems to making regarding the MDA Vario (unlocking or rom upgrading)
I have the latest unlocking including (CID) and i also have the latest upgrades too.
These are the full updated versions which will also change the country settings from other countrys to the full english version.
If required you can buy the cd's off me for a small price via paypal which will include full instructions with the unlocking software and upgrades, which all work 100% as i have done 14 so far with no problems.
This software will NOT change youe imei as it is against the law to do so.

I think you have a problem, i will post what i want i have forgoten more then you will ever know about mobile communications i have spent the last 27yrs in the communication world, i have worked for motorola, phillips , nokia, in hitech deparments.
You are more then welcome to visit my company here in the united kingdom so you can take it any way you want to, but think what you say before you engadge your mouth with your brain.
We also devolope software and hardware for the mobile world, and some ones software dont work we then fixit or recomend it not to be used at no cost you see we also do things for free.
So what have you to offer then! apart from rude comments which just shows to me your stupidity.

So who are you! what do you know about cellular equipment proberly nothing i guess so why dont you keep reading your comics and leave those alone who know what they are doing.

If your comment wasent aimed at me then sorry for the reply, but if it is then it is no concern of yours if you want the software with a backup service then please ask.
There are people on this forum who are have bad problems with this type of equipment and paying a small charge for what is offered is really to cheap but we at JKS Communications are not to greedy as we have tested and tested again to make sure that every thing we sell is 100% because i can assure that alot of the upgrades and unlocking software isnt safe to use.
If you know anthing about mobile communications you would know this, i have 5 tech guys who work for me full time as we cover most makes on the market and currently have around 400+gig of firmware/software going back to the early tac units all the way to the present day also we have the latest equipment around which run into thousends of pounds, 27yrs i have been in the mobile communications world so i know what i am talking about.
Like i said at the start if your comment wasent directed to me then i apologise for the comments i have made.
And if it was then you are not interested in what i can offer then keep your comments to yourself please.

Maybe so that most thing can be found on the internet but do they do what is claimed most dont.
And as fishing for business as you put it how can offering a service to help out those to who have tried out various software and are still having problems with phone's pda's ect which have a street price of around £375.
It seems to me that some find my offer affends if that is the case i will withdraw what i am offering and put the offer on my own website we just thought it would help out as most of the links are dead one's, and some of the programes offered for free are hacked and they do damage to your phone when used we know this as we have a lot of software that we have download for free and it is a waste of time.
As for the software being free on the net which is on the cd well the unlocking programe is and works 100% every time, but the main files for upgrading cost us money one of the files is a full version in english the latest microsoft windows v5 please tell me where i can download that for free not the simple rom update but the full Os system!.

Well this is the funiest yet, how can you call me a ripper? and it isnt a fancy name eather it was formed in 1987 proberly older then you currently are, you dont live in this country according to your details and i can't see how you can pass comment when you have no idear to what you are talkin about you are a class 1 PRATT just go back to school.

Take a run and jump son, the software is not free if it was then i would offer it for free there is no problem there, So please tell me then know it all where i can get a 100% geuine version of windows ver 5 with the latest update for free!!! with a installation serial number.

The only thing with that is, anybody in this section of the forum already has WM5 preinstalled on their device. And we can just strip out whatever we don't want installed. I'm failing to see the benefit of anybody in the "Wizard" area of the forums buying WM5 from you. By the way, I'd also like to point out that normally, in any business, there's always some kind of customer service and professionalism. You may want to do some research into that. I know that, from most of my experiences, if you have a problem, the company gives you sympathy. If you disagree with a policy, most companies would at the very least apologize about the way things are. You, my friend, act as a douche for your company. Only, in this instance, you're flushing out business. ~sniff~ Ah, the smell of vinegar in the night air. . .

Also your a very new user here on xda-developers (under JKS_COMMS you only reg'd on 21-10-2006), only 6 posts (all of these in this thread) I doubt anyone is going to take you seriously.
Got to say this all sounds a bit fishy to me, do you really think ANYONE here with half a brain will send you a fiver - sounds like a bit of a scam to me so maybe this thread needs reporting to a MOD.

The software i hve didnt come from this site nor ebay as i dont have an account.
You are such a plank i can see now this forum has got A holes in it and plenty of them who can always pass comment well you can shove it, i got the software it's 100% perfect and works great but thanks to you bunch of upstarts who like to see other members suffer as the software you find on the net isnt that good thats why it is free.

there is nothing fishy here all my software is 100% i had to pay for it which was more then a fiver, so i thought i would help some one out on here with support to help them get there mda sorted and running 100% so i didnt think it was to much to ask, but as you can see it is wrong of me to offer this software at this price so i wont it do not bother me.

for someone with the vocabulary of a 9 year old, he sure does seem confident in his ability to produce working software. As for wm5 being pad for, it does NOT require a cdkey. OEM's that resell it sometimes (I have heard of one) that has added a cdkey to it to it and it was compared to a hardware id. As for a place you can find a full wm5..... everywhere?

Proper video drivers and unlocker Project

cmonex and olipro have offered up to get the proper video drivers and a sim unlocker done for the kaiser. they though have asked u guys the community to get them a kaiser they could use to do the development of the drivers and unlocker. cmonex has previous experience in doing driver hacking so she would find a way to hack the current video drivers to be used more efficiently and to use the full power of the kaiser. olipro u guys all know from the hermes forums for his unlocked and hardspl but this time around the new securities require he have a device to be able to unlock it. if they wont succedd in any of these 2 then they will give back the kaiser.

i would repost it but idk if it isnt off topic bc that was for how much people are willing to chip into the bounty. u can add to first post of bounty thread though. cmonex who would be lead developer of the video driver said it should be just a mod to existing video drivers after looking at what core people are saying. she says shes willing to do it just needs a kaiser and the bounty would be nice after shes done bc it will take some time and she is a student too.

SIM unlocker? Who needs that? I just called AT&T and they gave me my unlock code withing 5 minutes.

I would guesstimate that Tilt users account for less than half of the users in this forum. There are more world-wide users here using the MDA Vario III and the TyTN II and I am quite sure they would love to have an unlocked phone.

Actually I would say tilt users are the majority

Who cares about the sim locker. You guys don't have to argue about that so much, the more important thing here is the drivers.

she doesnt want to compete and is open to collaboration but needs a device to be able to do anything. she has extensive dll modding skills so it shouldn't be too hard of a job for her.

Perhaps a user with more than one device (I have seen many of them post, I would volunteer if I had more than 1) would be willing to loan the extraneous unit out?
Just a thought...

i was playing with imei-check.co.uk's kaiserv1unlock.exe program. the code above is what goes into the kaiser/tilt puls some info and pastes a file with an extention .ued.
past this point i am lost on 2 counts.
one: i am not a programer that understands the code above
two: i don't know or have a program that reads file extentions ending in .ued
hopefully this might help out or not.

All that that code does is copy your imei and save it in a file with a ued extension. It's a bunch of fluff.

Tilt needed

My very good friend ather (ather90) is looking to buy a Kaiser (any variant) so that he could cook on it. If you have any reasonable offers (hopefully lower than 150 is what he's looking for), please either PM me or him. I know many of you have moved to other devices and have your devices laying around, so if you're interested, let him know. He's in Bahrain so you'd have to be able to ship international.

Lol, kind of random in this thread. Anyhow, i use a combo of a lot of stuff. I finished uploading my kitchen yesterday (around half a gig) and i'll be releasing it soon so you and everybody else can use it.

Additional detail:
-Would like the Tilt to be in good condition and everything working.
-Doesn't matter where it's coming from.

Rhodium HardSPL - News and Updates

First I'd like to mention that I am grateful for all the developers on XDA working on these phones. I'm no programmer but I know plenty who are in all fields so I can appreciate what you are all doing.
I just wanted to create this thread to see how close we are to getting our hands on the HardSPL for Rhodium and any updates on development.
I've had my Touch Pro 2 for about a week and half now and already bored with it. The phone itself is great, but Windows Mobile 6.1 seriously sucks.
I really want to start using Windows Mobile 6.5, which brings me to why I created this post.
If anyone can shed some light on this I'd appreciate it.

Olipro and cmonex are still searching for mobile devices with hynix memory to test some stuff.
In short, don't expect anything soon and have patience

hmm this thread will be good for the usual "hardspl waititing posts".. when release comes, we (olinex) will just create the real hspl thread, so mods will not have to clean up for release (like for topaz they had to).
as to why this flash type checking is so important: on topaz the hynix ones really just got lucky by not getting their mfg partition corrupt. (no one got it corrupt but as i said that was luck) i want to avoid any such problems on rhodium.

Does this mean there is a feasible solution for Samsung based units ?
I am surprised that it makes a difference based on the fact HTC wont have made a separate spl for hynix based units. and rom upgrades will contain the same info...
can hard spl for samsungs be realeased with a link to the tutorial on how to ensure you have samsung?
darides tutorial suggests most people seem to have samsung anyway.
infact has ther been a hynix unit seen in the wild?

Perhaps Olinex can make a version for samsung that checks on the sspl that the memory is samsung or not. to avoid bricks or other problems.
I have not seen or know anyone with hynix memory on their tp2 after checking about 5 different units from my friends and family they are all samsung. My vodafone one is samsung too.

Can we please have an ETA / timeline for the release of the HardSPL for our HTC Rhodium.
I hate my Vodafone UK branded HTC Touch Pro 2. It is red and so am I with anger. Joking aside I love HTC standard ROM's. The last one I put on my HTC Touch Pro was amazing.

If you want to flash the HTC Shipped ROM, look out for the Goldcard methods. I'm not going into detail here because it's off topic and well documented else where. If all else fails cmonex normally helps via PM.

I can totally understand people begging for this. I nervously waiting for it to, but not to install custom ROMs. I'm waiting for it to get blackberry connect running. To achieve that I need to manipulate the device ID in the ROM itself, to fool RIM, let them think it's running on a proper device. But to flash this manipulated ROM I need HSPL (or does someone know a way to manipulate the device ID (HTC-Rhodium) in another way?).
However, asking and begging does not help or make stuff easier or getting it done faster. We all need to be brave and patient and wait a bit and let olipro and cmonex get this stuff done.

Sorry to go a bit OT here but I am interested in your info about Blackberry Connect. I have just come to the TP2 from a Storm and one thing that is lagging behind with the TP2 IMO is the push email, would the 'updated' ROM you are proposing allow me to use the pushmail service from BB ?

Have you tried to change your AKU?
If NO you can change this:

[PRJ] New Hard SPL tool

I'm starting a bounty for a new Hard SPL tool. We need one that will be free with no stipulations to the community. I don't mean to offend or provoke anyone here, but at this point we have a "donation" only SPL unlocker for a device that is aging rapidly.The majority of people with problems are posting in that thread about having to pay on their first unlock. Contacting the support website there is kind of hit and miss.
I appreciate everything that cmonex and olipro have done for this community. I hold no grudge against them for this. I know that life gets in the way. However, there were ways to prevent the problems. They could have recruited someone to fill in for them who would actually be in this thread as well as over on the htc-unlocks website who could provide support to the folks who use this software.
The Touch Pro2 is over a year old and is showing its age. We shouldn't be paying to unlock such an old device anymore. Even carriers are phasing out the device. It would be of more benefit to the community as a whole to have an unlocker that is free from any limitations to unlock, free to use with no stipulations, and free from cloud based personal information storing.
I donated $10 when I first got my TP2 in the mail and unlocked it. I wasn't required to do by the software, but I did because this is where it all begins in regards to flashing literally ANYTHING on our devices. I respect their work, but forcing users to pay and then not helping with the problems is not acceptable by me.
With that being said, I'm proposing a collaboration of folks from this forum to come up with a new Hard SPL, or, at the very least, work around the "donation" system of the former tool.
I, myself, am not as skilled in scripting as most users on here, so I'm posting this as a request for assistance. Think of this as a virtual drawing board for you guys to help with.
I'm attaching all the info I can find to the first few posts here so we can get the ball rolling. I am really hoping to attract a few people who know how to code programs. I would also hope to get the attention of someone who has the older version of the software that did not connect to the Internet to provide an unlock.

The bounty could also be given to anyone who could make a RUU that will flash custom ROMs. There is a thread in the HD2 forum HERE about it.
There is a thread HERE for the Wizard that seems to let you extract the SPL from the device. If we could extract the current Hard SPL from the devices, then we would also have ourselves a free version.
I think there would be more motivation if there was a bounty on this. I'll put up $10 to start us off. This way it will be actual donations. If cmonex or olipro make there unlockers free, then what say we just give them the bounty, eh? That way this is completely fair. Either someone else makes a Hard SPL unlocker and they get the cash, or cmonex and olipro get one last lump payment for the community to benefit from.

Added your pledges to the first post. Added the link about the SSPL RUU to the first post as well. I agree that I wish cnomex and olipro just make it free now, but if not, hopefully we can spur others into looking into this. If they remove the payment system from theirs, then the bounty belongs to them, however. I'm just trying to keep it fair for the developers AND the users.

I think it would also be great if whoever does this, provides some clear instructions on how it was done.
Or the source code to generate it.

It would really depend on how much it would be of use to WP7 devices as this is the only one I've seen that has a payment system, and there aren't anymore WM6.5 devices coming out. I don't know enough about the SPLs to be able to make that call, but I would hope that if a new one is created, the source would be provided. I'm more interested in resolving the never-ending struggle of lack of support on the paid model. If they would simply do away with the paid Hard SPL system, there would be no problems in that thread other than users who forget to disable antivirus software...
The bottom line is that we just wanted support for the paid software we were using. Since that isn't happening, we're driven to this front. We now want it to be open to the community with no reservations.
EDIT: Vote this to the front page for more attention to the matter. The link to vote is on the right side of the header above post #1. Anyone viewing this should help spread the word. Pass the message along to any other active threads that you're involved in. We need to get this as much attention as possible to either get some assistance in its development or have cmonex and olipro release a true free version.

hi sorry if i interrupt this, but, you dont have to make a donation in order to get a hard-spl. you just have to get a ticket, and soon or later, they will enable you to do that, and im talking of this because that recently happen( the only thing that its painful its the wait time... almost 1month in order to get it, but i get it!)

Opening tickets has been hit and miss for most people having problems. Users are being forced into purchasing the tool because of a lack of support from the creators. No one is upset that they created the tool, just at the lack of support on it. You said yourself that you had to wait a month to get a response. Why not just open the application up for anyone to use as it is on nearly every other device in this forum? The Rhodium is aging quickly. There are fewer and fewer new users with this device. For them to still be charging for it is kind of ridiculous now. That's the purpose of this thread is to encourage collaboration of the users here into developing a truly free version with no hiccups or workarounds needed to eliminate the need for an entire thread dedicated to support questions where the answer is likely to be, "donate 4GBP and it'll work."

Same issue here with getting new phone back from warranty. Already "donated" 4x's for my family's phones. Started a ticket explaining the warranty/new phone situation and now has been 3 weeks with no response. Stock ROM on the phone kept freezing several times a day and phone was pretty useless. Could not wait any longer so "donated" again, restarted hardsplash process again and it let me right through and unlocked phone.
Pretty rude not to respond to "customers" and bad for business. At least put on their website clearly stated that 'you must pay to unlock your phone each time!'

Once someone says they have started development on a new FREE hardspl I will donate 10$....
I would also hope that the mods delete the old hardspl so noone gets suckered into paying for something that should have always been free.

Point of a bounty is to pledge that you will donate once it is complete.
Not to donate before then.
Nothing is donated until it is completed.
But, once completed, all those that pledged to donate, make their donations to whoever completed it.
It is not enforcable, but, it is a commitment. And people remember when a pledge is made, but not paid.
Is the $10 you mentioned a pledge to donate when it is completed or made free to all?

You act like I wont donate the money IF it comes out....it would be a suprise if someone made a new hardspl for an old phone but it would make me happy since I usually keep my phone for a long time...
I had my shadow/juno all the way up until I think 08....then the screen started going white and I didnt feel like taking it apart just to fix it but it was a good phone.
I dont usually make it a point to check the site every day but I come back from time to time when I feel like it's time to mess with my phone some more. I will probably check back in Dec and if I am late to throw my money into the pot once its completed I say sorry now so as not to make tensions flare.
Hell I would drop another 10 IF the new hardspl comes out and the mods DELETE NOT lock the other hardspl from cmo/oli.

You guys are more than welcome to donate on your own terms, but I'm just going to keep a running total of all donations offered in the first post. The conditions I originally posted for collecting the bounty were someone making a new HSPL tool, modding the original one to be standalone, or olipro/cmonex making the original one free. If someone clears one of those three conditions, I think they should get the bounty. If anyone has any objection to that, or something to add, let me know.
EDIT: Make sure you guys are doing some PR work to get this thing out there, please. Feel free to add this thread to your sig, or comment about it in other threads (albeit subtly). Most of us who are pledging donations so far are have already got our devices HSPL'd. This is for the benefit of the community as a whole. While not as many are doing so, there are still new users popping up everyday with new TP2's in their hands asking for help. We're doing this for them.

I've paid/donated 4GBP six times in the last couple of months as I've been unlocking TP2s for friends. Yesterday for the first time, the Hard SPL tool failed to work after submitting the payment. I contacted the support email address and attached my PayPal payment receipt ... but of course no response.
Add my $10 pledge to the bounty pool.
