screen orientation switcher?? - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

Hi all
I've had a look around the forums, and i cant seem to find a definitive answer to what im looking for, and im certain ive seen it in a rom somewhere
what im looking for is the following:
A program which allows me to change the orientation of the screen by means of a start menu shortcut (not the one which normally be in the settings -> screen -> orientation, that menu seems to be missing on my rom)
does anyone know of a program (preferably free), that is small, and lightweight that can do this?
many thanks

Search for Gsen or Gyrator in forum.

ive done the searches, ive used gsen/gyrator, those are automatic screen rotators which change the orientation of the screen using the inbuilt accelorometer
i am looking for someting which i can use to manually change the orientation of the screen, a bit like the orientation switcher which was built into the screen settings menu

nobody?
surely someone must know of a program that can do this

ScreenRotator

Saerch for the freeware ScreenRotator.net at this site.

QuickMenu has that feature which will replace your Start Menu. you can do that by tapping an menu item then.

Unless I misunderstand, install AEbutton and map one of your buttons to screen orientation.

Hey Stix,
To enable the screen rotation icon from the Settings>Screen menu, edit the registry: "HKLM\System\GDI\Rotation\HideOrientationUI" and change the value to 0. Go to the Screen page and you'll see the Portrait/Landscape option.
After enabling the screen rotation option, you can map the talk button to rotate the screen with a long press. Start>Settings>Buttons; just look for the <Rotate Screen> option from the pull down menu.
You don't have to go to the Start menu, doesn't use resources (I'm guessing) and it's free!
Hope this helps.
TF3D doesn't rotate even when you select the <Rotate Screen> option (unless the keyboard is popped out, obviously). Only applications and the Windows menus will rotate if you manually rotate the screen.

thank you very much my good man!
this is perfect, i use my raphael to read a lot of pdf's and docs, and i recently discovered documents to go which does everything i want except change the orientation!
many thanks asdfjklqwerty!

I use this, AAHRotate0-90.CAB or AAHRotate0-270.CAB on my Touch Pro.

I just searched for these cabs. I can only find them on a Chinese website which I can't read. It requires login to download the files. Does anyone have these cabs and could they be posted please.
Thanks

Hi,
you can try this attached cab. Hope it's what you're looking for.
P.S. Cab file extracted from ROMeOS v1.95.4.

Excellent! Works like a charm on my HTC Vox. I know this forum is for Touch Pro, but since I found the software here...

AAHRotate 1.0

I do it with AE Button, but if you have SK Tools, these shortcuts will also do it (use the shortcut manager if you want; these probably work with the free version, too):
Code:
Portrait:
1#\Windows\skstart.exe #DMO_P
Landscape:
1#\Windows\skstart.exe #DMO_L

Remove Calender&Contacts bar

Is it possible to remove to whole bar at the bottom of the home screen? Mine has links to contact & calender, but I just want to remove it since I dont use them at all...
Any ideas?
soft key applet
you can use a program called soft key applet, which is downloadable from the xda ftp site, not sure if you can simply turn these off, but you can assign different programs to them.
I use dcinobar, you can just click the .exe to enable / disable it. I have mine placed in the \windows\startup folder works perfectly.

nice post, def. gonna try this one out when I get the chance as I never use the on screen soft keys anyway,(plus I know I ain't the only one who can't stand the fact that the home screen plugin from HTC doesn't allow one to scroll down the today screen in landscape mode)and a little extra room is welcomed with open arms. I'm guessing you can still use the soft keys if you want to by pressing the hw buttons on the device right????
cheers
Heres the trick..
It LOOKS a lot better. It makes more of your image available to use.
But wither or not you use the buttons doesnt even matter, because when at the today screen, even if you press those buttons they still work. I use mine all the time, but I dont like the clutter, but it doesnt matter. I just remember what buttons do what, since they still work.
Im adding this to my newbie thread
Thanks!!
This gives the homescreen just a bit more room.
Another nice mod is to remove the iconset for the unlock/com man/etc located above this bar. I used the regedit method using total commander- simply delete the following from your registry:
\\HKLM\INIT\LAUNCH92
This is the key that launches the tray application at boot (To re-enable create the registry key above with the value TrayAp.exe)
Have fun!

Actually I found the tray icons very useful and actually added my own tray from batterstatus. One touch activation of any of the radio's and various programs makes using the tray very efficient. Plus you can access the tray without even touching the screen so its a win-win in my eyes.
Regarding Neptunes' first post at the top,
"(plus I know I ain't the only one who can't stand the fact that the home screen plugin from HTC doesn't allow one to scroll down the today screen in landscape mode)"
I have spent days looking for a fix/patch for this. Is not having the scroll feature in landscape mode the final answer on this one?
Thanks guys!
Scroll
Go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\HTC Home and change the type to 4.
Poweroff and poweron.
Thanks, exactly what i need.

How can the diplay rotation be forced?

I just installed TomTom 6 on my Diamond, all is working well but I can't seem to force the display to rotate 90 degrees to landscape orientation.
On my Wizard I always programmed one of my hardware buttons to <rotate screen>. There's only one button to program (the green phone button) on the Diamond, but the <rotate screen> option is not available!
Any thoughts?
Have you tried to install SPB pocket plus and use the built-in shortcut to rotate the screen? It should work... or so i hope
with QuickMenu.

Found with Google
Wow nice app!
Ill try it out on my wife's Diamond to see if it will force rotate (and hopefully remain rotated after a reboot/restart).
I was hoping on a more elegant solution, other than having to install a whole new app just to enable screen rotation!
You know what, I'll fire up the WM6 SDK and program a TT6 launcher myself Let me know if anyone's interested so we can gather some tips and other useful input on this.
I used quicktime but it messed up my taskbar, my close programs icon was gone
needed to hard reset

Force Landscape mode?

On the Diamond the screen options under settings do not include the Landscape / Portrait wwitch. Is there any way to force the device to Landscape?
you can force Landscape / Portrait with "WisBar Advance"
Or with QuickMenu...
yeah, personally I have this switch mapped to win-logo long press in QuickMenu
Found this, posted somewhere odd

The Touch Diamond does not show the WM screen rotation under settings so we can't manually set rotation for apps like Word, SMS. Here is how to enable it. After you've done the hack, run the app you want to rotate (eg. Word Mobile), then do Start, Settings, System, Screen to set rotation to landscape. The onscreen keyboard is much larger in landscape! When you click the HOME key it will go back to portrait.
Enable Manual Screen Rotation (Portrait/Landscape):
HKLM - System - GDI - Rotation - HideOrientationUI (change from 1 to 0)
Change is immediate effectively. No reboot is required.

confirmed, this works.
HKLM - System - GDI - Rotation :
LandscapeFixed: set to "0" ( default is "1" )
extends options to:
Portrait
Landscape (right-handed)
Landscape (left-handed)
cool, thanks - this is handy for me being lefty; any chance of disabling the right-handed option forever?
You can do just what you want using Mortscript...
And the script should run automatically everytime you reboot your device....

i also set this up. works only on home page. f in an app, i get this new never efore seen menu that says \
Copy
Cut
Paste
Select All
Select all + copy
select all + cut
Undo
If we now can activate it from the system eventually we'll get to know how to use the acceleremoter in whole system or atleast in whole TF3D.
woho, nice to hear that the edit menu works on diamond too, cause it's dunno why not working for me. this is great feature of quickmenu allowing you to manipulate with the clipboard whenever you're in an editbox.
It would be nice to have G-sensor to automatically rotates screen in all apps. I'm sure that there is a way, registry entry perhaps.
You can, using this app:

Works like a charm

1.) Give Google a try and search for TF3D Config!
2.) go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=430174

Putting more than one appt. or icons on Manilla Home screen-please Help

Hello guys does anybody know a way of being able to see more than one calendar appointment, or the device lock icon, or skype icon on the Home screen of Manilla ROMs?
I tried a search but I didn't come up with anything substantial or useful enough to follow.
Thank you in advance

Take a look at the SecondToday plugin... If you use the TouchFlo2D settings tool (search the forums) you can make a softkey on the main tab that says something like "Agenda", and link it to secondtoday. Then use an application like G-Alarm and / or TodayAgenda for your today screen plugins. Inside of SecondToday you can set a softkey to "return" to TouchFlo2D by pointing it at SecondToday.exe (this kinda tricks it like the OK button)
This is what I have done, and it's very slick and solved my issues. Hopefully it helps you.
Thank you very much for the help

Manual Landscape

I have been looking through all the settings on the D2 to manually change the screen to landscape as I used to be able to do on the Touch cruise but without success the G-Sensor is a bit of a hit and miss and only works on some programmes. I would like to use landscape with Navigon 7 anyone know how to do this ?
The TF3D interface does not work in landscape on default, there is an app available for it here
you can go to settings>all settings>system tab>screen and change the orientation, somehow this only works one time for me, it just changes back automatically.
in Navigon (I don't have this) there is probably an option where you can change the orientation
edit: change the orientation to landscape in the screen settings, and then start navigon.
Tnks for the reply TK tried the tweak did not seem to do anything apart from restarting the D2 there are no settings in the screen tab for changing orientation just alighn, Cleartype and Text Size.
will have to keep looking.
somehow the tweak options end up in the all programs list, found under Manila Rotate On/Off.
maybe this option came with one of the programs installed ^^
After you do the manilla landscape you soft-reset and then it should be there for you to rotate stuff. Another app to try out is G-Config. Search for that on the forum. You can add automatic rotation to apps that don't support it after you add them to the list you soft-reset and then try it again. I've managed to put MSN, Skype etc on it.
installed Advanced_Configuration_Tool_v3.3, start and then:
screen -> show orientation settings -> yes
then i configured the one button i can configure (left-bottom: press and hold):
settings -> all settings -> personal -> buttons -> <rotate screen>

What about the phone app? When you're in navigation Mode with MN|7 and a call comes in, the phone app is in portrait, right?
Does anyone know, how to turn the phone app to landscape?
