Installing alternative TF3D keyboards? - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I have finally received my TD2 (french localized), and so far I am happy with, it have a smaller screen than my previous PDAs but it is also much smaller overall, all in all a better compromise for me
I am playing with my new toy, moving one by one the usefull stuff I had on my last PDA, and it is going on well.
Currently I am installing thai fonts and input method (so I can use MDict thai-english free dictionary), and korechithai work very nicely: one cab add thai fonts, and another one add a thai keyboard, of a design very similar to the defaut WM6 one.
However this keyboard, while doing the job with a stylus, is not really as convenient as the TF3D custom french keyboard that was included stock (thanks htc ;-) ).
Is there a way to add addtional custom HTC/TF3D keyboards, coming from other TD2 editions? Or maybe there is only one TF3D custom keyboard, and it's layout is controlled by some files/registery entries?
Thanks for any answers,
Greg.

Look really nice, but I did not find any mention of thai skin looking in the thread...
Is there one? or do I have to build one myself?
he he, I had a look at the skin examples, does not look too difficult, I may try to build one myself, but if it is done already it would satisfy my natural lazyness ;p

Keyboard Skins on Diamond

I have tried Searching Reading Browsing but still no luck.
I am a big fan of the Original Keyboard (Screen).
The bluish keyboard that came stock on the Diamond is really ugly.
None of the skin cabs that worked for WM 6.0 would work on the Diamond.
Does anyone know how to get around this?
Thanks~!

oh really? I thought everything for the original keyboard(non HTC) is the same except for the blue skin that came with the diamond. everything else seems to be the same..
Well let's hope someone will be able to make a skin for it

New TouchFlo 3D v2.5!!!

Check this one out TF3D v2.5. Hopefully can port into our HD
http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=5321
NRGZ28 as released a testrom with this manila but to much bugs,he as removed the link the same day,i think better rom with this manila as coming in the future
that looks really nice.
hopefully will see the new version incorporated in upcoming rom' s .
Looks like a natural progression of TF3D, and the start of the 'sense' version of TF for WM.
I noticed the option to add 'widgets' in there so that looks interesting.
Cant wait for a bug free version to hit our ROM's.
Really nice, but not as improved as HTC Sense (TouchFlo3D)..
Cant wait to cook this manila into my rom. Hopefully the big chefs with access to the leaks will share it and not lock their roms....
The contacts tab seems a step backwards for me though. Back to the HTC cube layout from a few generations ago.
i don't really like the square contacts... it's the same as the other UIs, like spb shell 3, the actual favorite contacts list is the best

i agree for conctacts
but i really liked calander tab and also home tab as well
I think that the best thing they included is footprints feature. I am not sure whether it would work well with gps that is used in Blackstone. New calendar tab is sweet

It already works on Touch Cruise '09, which probably uses the same GPS chip, so yeah, Footprints are going to work on the HD.
I'm more concerned about specs necessary to run this new version of Manila. Firestone has (if I remember correctly) a 600 MHz Snapdragon...
am i wrong or in the video in the link in the first post a HD? if that dude can have it why dont we have it?

600mhz msm, same video chipset. It should work without problems
I like this new manila
Can the new Manila still show upcoming appointments belao the clock, instead of those shortcuts?
And is it possible to get back the old contacts page?
if you want appointments and current and favorite layout stay with current manila lol
where can i get the cab?
This looks good.
Anyone got a link to that rom?
Or if someone cares to re-upload it
All I know is that it's NRGs rom.

User Interface ROM...Anyone Interested??

I'm debating on making a UI ROM. This ROM would contain ALL the most popular UIs for windows mobile. I will try and customize the look of them if people want. Is anyone interested in this???
PS. Of course you know this may eat up a lot of storage memory. I'll try and minimize as much as I can.

Try the basic ones: iFonz+S2U2+S2P, Throttlelauncher+throttlelock, HS++, and of course, Manila!
Hmmm i was thinking more like FEWidgets, PointUI, SPB Mobile shell and TF3D. I'm really not a fan of throttle launcher cause its so freaking slow..
Depending on the performance.. I would love to give it a shot.
I would like to have:
Taskbar Icons,
Background for all Tabs,
Slider Icons,
New Icons set under Start - Like iPhone everything one size within a Sq template. (for WM6.5)
S2U2 cooked into the WM 6.1 ROM
If the ROM is smooth and stable with out any memory leaks and within acceptable RAM usage... I am sure a lot of people would love it.
My 2 Cents.
I would probably base the ROM on WM6.1 but I was going to put tweaks for the interfaces and some basic apps. This would be more of a Find ur UI ROM so u can test them all and to have them all optimized in one rom
I think this is a great idea, and would certainly be interested if it had a nicely set up PointUI with SenseUI suite (I've had issues with it running on my phone).
Throttlelauncher should be speedy enough on this device. It was quite fast on my old Herald, and that thing's ancient. I would probably prefer that there weren't any paid interfaces like Home2 and SPB, since not everyone has a registration for them.

From what i've seen Throttle launcher is slow and laggy on every device.. I can try it on the TP2 and make a decision. SPB mobile shell is like rated one of the top interfaces for Winmo so i can't leave that out. It gives the people who do use that interface the ability to have a customized ROM for it. I'm personally not a fan but have like 10 coworkers that hate tf3d and love spb.
How about Moto Homescreen or UL for that matter!
Check this thread out try editing the manila 2.6 and making a landscape version and using the latest 2.5/2.1 to try and get it working correctly.

I honestly don't believe that is possible but I can look into it. No one wants to share the Manila 2.6 Packages so there is nothing I can do there.
I'd like it but im sure it would be pretty hard to bundle all that together and still be able to hotswitch between the different today screens.

Well they are all like today plugins so you would switch between them the same way u add and remove today plugins...

Howto make a Mobile Phone like skin ?

Hello People, sorry for the bad title i couldn't think of another.
My name is xiq and i've been on this forum since 1-2 years, because I really appreciate the tools etc. =)
I'm looking for a way to make something like a more advanced skin for my wm phone.
I have a Eten M800 with a VGA display (not very good), and a Palm Treo 750 with a square display.
Well i really think that the Treo's not really good dressed with Windows Mobile's Appearance, so i want to make a more standard skin, something very basic.
I thought about something like this:
i610.photobucket.com/albums/tt185/xrlsky/home.png
Home Screen
i610.photobucket.com/albums/tt185/xrlsky/menu.png
Menu Version A
i610.photobucket.com/albums/tt185/xrlsky/menu_alternative.png
Menu Version B
Icons © by "Zerode.com", i just used them for a quick "sketch"
---------------------------
As you can see, it's not really so mad about touch like most projects, i don't want to center on a yank-a-doodle-dandee
Maybe someone want to team up with me?
I'm a experient Designer, as you can see on photobucket,
I'm also the guy behind the XeBoy Advance skin (v0.4 upwards)
I'm just not the fittest at programming...
Does any of you guys know of an easier way to realize this?
come on people, 200 views and no idea?
FIY, i don't want to find a skin, I want to make one, just a simple clue would be awesome =)
Moved to correct section for more coverage.
bumpedy bump still interested
well, it's been some time, but i'm still bumpin'
Hello sir my name is not Trekfan422991 but that is my username and i have what you are looking for...
the program you should use to achieve this skin is called
THROTTLE LAUNCHER..
with a little XML. you can design any kind of Theme your little heart can imagine...
this theme you are asking about would be sooooo!! super easy to code....
i can either do the coding for you...
or even some GRaphics ... i am a graphic designer...
take a look at one of the beautiful popular themes i ahve made for peoples phone .....
HERE
i would be happy to partner up with you to bring this theme to your device..!!!
i realized that your Eten M800 has a joystick and you post says your not looking at the touchscreen aspect of the theme....
so if you want to use the joystick for navigating the theme if i make it in throttle launcher .. will not be possible... you will still need to use the touchscreen to navigate the theme
Try ThemeGenCE its great for starters (well I'm still using it )

What is the best keyboard?

Hi,
I just wonder what is the best keyboard for Hero? Smart Keyboard? Swiftkey? or Better keyboard?
Having used most of them I kinda prefer swiftkey at the moment it's quiet good to predict and fix typing errors. I am also waiting for blindtype which should affording to reviews be available soon for both iPhone and android.

I have used all three and was using Swiftkey the most. I have however flashed FroydVillian1.1.1 and since the voice input patch I find myself using the voice input most of the time. (it has only been 2 days) It is very good at getting my text correct.
For me it's without a doubt SlideIT. I can type incredibly fast with it.
Swype it good, much better than SlideIT, but if you don't have beta then you need to buy it I think. The HTC sense standard keyboard is pretty good actualy.
Thank you all. I will install all and after a week of trial I will find the suitable for me.

i think you just get used to a keyboard rather than one being better than another
There are definitely a substantial difference in the prediction algorithms, and suggestion styles among the various keyboards.
I prefer Swiftkey beta, as it downloads a language pack and frequently predicts the next word I am about to type BEFORE TYPING A SINGLE KEY. Seriously, it'll blow your mind.
BlindType also looks promising, if you care to get that freaky with your keyboard.

I tried SwiftKey for a few days, and it was really impressive how it adapted to my writing style. I think it comes with a set of phrases and what-comes-after-what, but it can adapt as you type and (if you allow it, I think) read your old texts to customize itself to your style. I like it.
+1 for swiftkey am loving it wish they had an iphone version as well.
I've made my choise and the winner is Swiftkey. Very good and it's like the soft is reading my mind.
