Bloo Facebook App - myTouch 3G, Magic Apps and Games

I just came across this wonderful app that provides a native facebook client for android.
Tha app has been out for just 2 days and already is receiving great support from its developer with constant updates as new features are implemented and bugs are ironed out.
Although its a paid app the developer has been kind enough to provide an alternative method of purchasing the app to those that don't have access to google's paid market through slideme.org.
The app costs $1.49 and I can say its well worth every penny. I have been using it since morning with no problems what so ever.
The developer its quite active and promises new features with future releases. For more details refer to his blog: http://fbandroid.wordpress.com/
I believe we should support such developers that put a lot of effort in providing android with such great apps.

Can't make comments in Chinese It sends them in garbage code. Refunded.
EDIT: It reads them fine, just can't REPLY.

i cant see it in the market yet.....can anyone provide a down load link for bloo?

I love how the OP wrote as if he wasn't the author of the app... which he is. At least be honest and say you're plugging your own app!
It looks good, and I'm definitely going to pick it up soon, so there's no need to be sneaky.

I purchased it yesterday, and I think its great. But is it only me, or does it load The Feed slow, even on wireless?

can someone pls give me a link from when i can get this bloo?
its not there in the market,im in india...

Please do not post Swype APK's

As Swype is only available as a closed beta or as release within an OEM build, it should not be posted, or linked on XDA.
I'm the beta community relations rep for Swype (Brian Resnik, if you're over on the Swype forums).
First of all, yes we're watching you HAHA. I'm obligated to wag my finger at you all for distributing our software without a license. A little patience will go a long way. Trust me, the more the brass hears about people illegally copying Swype and feeling entitled to a free version (yes, we know there's no copy on the market for you to buy, but you have to respect that OEM distribution is our chosen business model), the less they want to support a beta program at all. The better we play nice with eachother, the sooner more people get into the beta!

yup, it was posted there first
@mssmison
But you know... I will buy Swype first day it will be released - thanks to these leaks
Swype has updated their page with the new beta instructions. It appears at this point to be a limited public beta, as it will only be available for a couple of days, and requires you to enter your email address to get the download.
So threads with download links will still not be allowed.

You do realize that the whole point of this thread is to say not to post the APK, right?
When they take off the stupid download limit for the Beta for registered testers, I'll actually support not posting links.

Yeah, I understand. I just wanted to know whether I should not download it too many times, but backup&install it instead.
Gents,
I think Ive abused my swype membership --- ive installed it maybe at least 30 times on two phones since March. I've lost the "swype" function and it is basically a nice blue HTC_IME standin. No complaints, but wheres the swype at on Swype?
Droid X comes with it stock. Beautiful app. I might have known someone (a friend of course) who hooked his friends up with Swype on their HTC Eris's. He told me that he went and Googled it and found it pretty quick.

I understand that you have chosen a particular business model. I think however that it is unfair that it is not sold via the Android Market. What about phones like the Nexus One which now is an official developers phone? The Nexus One did not come with Swype and I would like to have the option to use it. (And yes, I did sign up at swypeinc's website waiting for the beta to reopen) Unless you give people the chance to purchase your product people will find ways around your chosen business model. I haven't myself downloaded the apk and I agree xdadevelopers should heed your warning.
I'm not really sure what the hang up is for the swype "brass." This program is being released on select phones already, right? Plus I've never heard complaints about it and would love to try it too. I'd gladly pay for something like this (after a trial) so I'm not really sure what the deal is.
Most of us love new software to play with and improve our phones with. However, a big turn-off for us can also be controlling companies like this. If they don't start providing us a valid route to buy or at least use this product, then they're going to lose in the end. The community is large enough we can throw together our own program to do this crap. Hell, shapewriter keyboard already does this and is free to boot and since I can't even use swype, it might as well not exist in the realm of gesture-based keyboards as far as I'm personally concerned.
I must concur with the rest of the community when I say that choosing not to retail a highly requested, fully functional app shows that the Swype folks are off their rockers. However, if they don't want us to obtain their app and lose customers as a result, that is their prerogative. I'm sure most of us will just find the APKs elsewhere online.

Hi, looking for developer feedback

Hello,
My name is Isaac and I am here to find out what developers and publishers find useful as far as reviews of their mobile applications. I have just finished developing a website that totally caters smartphone applications. It is non-platform specific so if you develop for Iphone, Droid, blackberry, etc.. then your apps could be listed at the site.
What I am looking to get out of this is to find out what information developers want to get from end users the most. This way I can configure the review site so it can get the most useful information to developers. Thus giving developers the info they need to concentrate on what is more important to their target audience.
So I hope some of this interest and lets get talking, what are important questions you like to see answered in reviews
come on guys, help me out, what are things that you found most important when getting reviews of your applications?
If someone reviewed my mobile app, I'd like to know about a couple of things like:
Ease of use,
Functionality,
If usage of app can provide a longterm solution,
and/or if the user was satisfied with the app all around.

Hi,
First of all before developing any application, I check the user requirement. As you know people want different type of applications. So I collect the user opinion from different places. Then I develop an application according to user requirement. After completing the application, I post my application reviews on different mobile based forums and get some feedback.

So basically if you have an idea for an app you then question potential users for what they would like to see and then build something from that?
Any particular questions you post on the forums that you feel gives you best info?
I always look for a decent star rating from those before me and also read through the developer description. If it seems useful I get it and worse case you just end up deleting it later. The main thing that makes an app flourish in the market is it's star rating and number of downloads.
But honestly, there are already several similar sites. I guess it will be really hard for you to build a big user base for your website. Other players are already in the market for a few years. And they are all free...
Maybe it is a better approach that the devs do not have to upload the app to you page but that you just allow the users to "request features" and you can allow them to vote for features. This could provide a feedback to the developer of the most important missing/demanded features. Maybe there is a chance to contact the developers via one of the google apis for marketplace once you have significant feedback from your users for a specific application...

Yes there are many similar sites, mostly concentrating on a particular platform though. Which to me makes no sense since a lot of developers want to make apps for different platforms . But you make a good point allow users to vote on proposed features that the developer is thinking of working on so they know what users really want and would likely buy for.

Submitting apps to China stores

Hi Guys,
As a UK based Android game developer we have recently had a few games released on China Mobile and 189 stores via a publisher/distributor who have a presence in-country.
For our future titles I'm currently investigating the idea of submitting to these Chinese app stores ourselves in order to hopefully bypass the ‘middle man’ so to speak.
Lots of links to the app stores 'developer centres' exist, however it seems I've failed at the first hurdle. During the registration process I am being asked for our Chinese business license number and Tax registration number. I cannot seem to bypass this section or submit our UK business details in order to continue. Either that or I'm being asked to input a Chinese mobile number in order to receive a verification code.
Just wondering if anyone else had any experience of self submitting to these China stores? It seems as though anyone outside of China is not allowed to submit apps? Is that correct?
Thanks in advance
Mark.
Hi Guys,
By the lack of replies it seems this might not be the correct forum for this type of subject
Does anyone know of any other good forums which may be able to help me out.

Out of curiosity - which distributor did you work with there? We worked with Tencent and the whole experience was / is a bit difficult, to say the least.

Hi Tom, Thanks for the link.
We went with a publisher called Thumbstar, who are based in the UK, who work with a company from China called Viva Red. Currently they are getting us on the state owned stores like China Mobile and China Telecom.
I have heard of Tecent. Aren't they a massive 3rd party app store? So did you apply through their website or did they send you an invite to put your games on their store? Have you had much sales success with them?
M.
I know Thumbstar, they have quite a lot of games for Android in their portfolio. How was your experience with them?
As for Tencent, yes, their are a massive company (games, web, WeChat, etc.). They got in touch with us regarding one of the games we've published. We also had two titles published in China with The9 but it was quite a long time ago and I'm not sure if they are still in the business.

Will send you a PM Tom.
I can give u really advice because i am from china .here in china there are too many store
but ,you can choose some big store just like 360.cn ,91,wandoujia,and myapp.com .you can contact me by [email protected] .i may give u some help .
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
From my own experience it is easy to submit to Wandoujia (Peas Pod), takes about a week for them to approve everything, you need to prove you're the copyright holder of the the app (scan of company certificate) when you submit along with a signed "owner" form from their submission process. Registering is pretty straight forward thanks to Google Translate (for best results install the Google Translate addon into your web browser and/or use Chrome):
http://pmt.wandoujia.com/apps/dev/home
I've only submitted a free app, not sure but suspect things are more complicated with paid apps.
Other Chinese app stores are harder to submit to but usually only because of translation issues or also having to install their apps first and create an account - the apps are always Chinese too.
My app is on many stores in China, but I never uploaded it, they are just distributing a cracked version... :-/
What about Xiaomi? http://app.xiaomi.com/
$10 publish fee for each China app store
I check the website called www.app4chinese.com and they provide service to publish app in China. $10 per store and they list 19 China app stores on their website.
Hi Maineyak,
We actually help developers to promote globally their apps in different stores (not just gPlay) and increase efficiently the number of downloads.
Send us a PM if you need more information or check our website

Why do carriers block features?

Sometimes the answer to this question is obvious. Verizon blocking google wallet was clearly so they could force people to use their own wallet app, whatever the hell it was. What I want to know is why on my AT&T Note 5 I don't have Auto Restart or Smart Manager. Both very useful features I would love to have, blocked by my carrier. How do either of these features effect AT&T? I'm sure there is plenty more blocked that I just don't know about.
Does anyone have any insight as to a logical reason a service provider would want to block stuff like this?
Here is a link to the video where I discovered these missing features:

Alain: Hi, thank you for contacting Samsung Technical Support. How may I help you today?
Mike: I would like to log a complaint about the Samsung Note 5 I purchased today from AT&T
Alain: Hello Mike!
Alain: I'd appreciate it if you could give me a detailed description of the problem to assist you better.
Mike: I bought this phone based on many features I read about online, my phone doesn't have these features. They are either disabled or not present.
Mike: The Smart Manager app used to manage RAM and apps on the phone is not on my Note 5.
Mike: There is no "Auto Restart" option under Backup and Reset menu.
Mike: I don't know why these options are missing, and I'm doubtful anyone can turn them on for me. But I just wanted to register my complaint that I'm pretty disappointed.
Alain: Just to confirm, where did you find that these features are available on the device?
Mike: When I type Samsung Smart Manager into Google, all the results are just other people complaining that this feature is missing as well.
Mike: Some guy on YouTube made a video of his Note 5 showing different features.
Alain: Thank you for the information.
Alain: I would like to inform you that the Smart Manager feature is available in T-Mobile Note 5 device.
Mike: I understand, I just want to complain that I find that disappointing and unfair.
Alain: Samsung only manufacture the devices and the devices are manufactured as per the Carrier requirements.
Alain: I can certainly understand your concern.
Alain: Samsung support link
Alain: Please access the above link and click on Feedback tab on the top right corner and submit your feedback.
Mike: OK
Alain: Our developer team might take care of these features in the up coming updates.
